Bella had just reached the door when Amara called her back. "Forget it. In a few days, it's Jason's name recognition banquet. We still need him there for the ceremony. If you go now, you'll only make things worse."

She turned to Clara instead. "Clara, you go. You were always closer to him. Talk to him properly. Find out what really happened."

Clara Chamberlain was a painter and the gentlest of the sisters. If anyone could keep the situation from escalating, it was her.
