LOGIN"Future Luna?"
I heard it right by the window and hurried right there to shut my door. I always slept in fear and uncertainty, and I couldn't feel like I was really living. Was that a voice or just a recall? I never knew who the future Luna could be. Until my heart began to harbour those thoughts I had, after discussing with Angus, I was willing to meet the lady, called that name. The Alpha's words shocked me while I was hiding by that tree's side. I could remember he called me the future Luna, but I didn't look like what he had described, though. "Ellie?" The voice called. Quickly, I recognised the voice to be Angus's, but I remained in bed. "Please, open, the voice came again. Perhaps I could ask Angus and understand what my future really held, I couldn't decide, yet. If I were to be more careful, Angus could possibly let me know. I walked to open the door for him and fortunately for me, it wasn't anyone but him. He wasn't just a lone wolf. I was afraid within seconds. Angus had safely returned and needed to rest. His voice was breaking as he spoke with me. "I will make sure I behead that brutal Alpha!" "Behead?" I questioned, surprised at his statement. "Who are you planning to behead?" "He is an enemy, Ellie…" Angus retorted, moving close to me. He rolled his eyes and brought out his sheathed sword. "Imagine this magical sword didn't really affect his nerves. He only grew more stubborn and strong…" "Wait," I interrupted, my voice soft but audible. "Is this Alpha a devilish wolf?" "Do you know him?" Angus returned a question curiously. "My mother was torn to pieces by a devilish Alpha, who couldn't rest until his teeth touched human flesh." I explained, my eyes blinking and almost streaming down fresh tears. I controlled it. I didn't want Angus to feel bad. After all, he had been fighting for me. "It pains me to hear your story, Ellie." Angus revealed, embracing me very tightly. "I can not just imagine how sad you would be. Could you like us to fish out that Alpha and take revenge?" "Yes!" I shrieked, gnashing my teeth as if I was about to tear the absent Alpha to pieces, in revenge. "Fine, then!" Angus exclaimed, in return. "My darling…" I called him, my voice shaking. "I don't know how powerful the Alpha can be. But, is he really undefeatable?" "He existed before me." Angus answered bluntly, not mincing words. "So, why does he want the future Luna so desperately?" I questioned him, holding my two lips firmly. Angus turned at me and rolled his eyes deliberately with rapid blinks. He seemed to be amazed I knew about the story. "What do you mean by the future Luna?" "She must be a very beautiful and powerful princess." I suggested, wiping my face off the speckles of broken pimples. "Indeed, she is…" Angus responded, suddenly placing his fist under his jaws as he adjusted. "But, do you know who she is?" "I don't." I snapped. "I don't, either…" Angus added, turning his face back at me again. "But, I will make sure that wicked Alpha doesn't get hold of her…" "Angus!" I intervened, my voice thin and partially pitiful. "Why don't you want him to own the future Luna to himself?" "Huh." Angus only sighed. "Have you ever met the future Luna?" I asked him, patting his shoulder as a means of making him talk. "Angus, be free with me…" "The future Luna is unknown to anyone yet." Angus revealed, calming his voice. "I plan to make her my second Queen whenever she comes into my life." "Second what?" I questioned him and wouldn't wait for his reply. "How strange is that— never knowing the future Luna, but planning to own her…?" "Exactly!" Angus assented, smiling strangely. "That's what I do. I am a wild being, and I do strange things." My chest beat as soon as I heard him say that. I sighed, my head coming low as though I was bowing to him. What if Angus got enamoured with this lady and just decided to leave me? What if? "Angus…" I called him. "You can't place anyone in your heart to represent me." I explained, uttering my words one by one. "Err, I know." Angus responded, but with a rather cold voice. "I can't exchange anyone for you. But, anytime I see the future Luna, I won't hide her from you. It's a promise!" "Hmm…" I said. "So, what's the Alpha's name?" I had been indifferent about asking this for a long while, but I decided to ask. I wasn't expecting the Alpha to be the one who murdered my mother. "Alpha Thane." Angus answered, putting me to a shock. "Thane?" I retorted, breathing heavily without an announced burning reaction, as I had said. "Is he the wolf leader of the Thane Wrest pack?!" "Yes," Angus replied. "And, he doesn't kill unless he is hungry, though." "Hungry for humans?!" I reverted, still panting. "Thane killed my mom!" "Thane... did what?" Angus questioned back, his voice high and sharp. "What do you mean?" "He was the one who bit my mother harshly and swallowed her like a piece of meat!" I let out, tears rolling down my cheeks. "I won't forgive that monster!" "Now that I know this truth, my muscles have swelled up." Angus revealed, frowning his face. I just knew he couldn't be expressing such anger at the poor me. He continued, his voice raised louder. "I will make sure I strangle him to death and wipe out his pack…!" "Wipe them out!" I exclaimed, agreeing to Angus's decision without any objection. "Alpha Thane mustn't know the future Luna, before I do…" Angus added, speaking softly this time. "I will deprive him of his rights and make him pay for the innocent lives he has dealt with." "Let's deal with the monster, first!" I shouted at Angus, holding my lips penitently. "I have already promised that." Angus replied, his voice cool. He wasn't angry with me. "But, he is not a monster, Ellie." "So, what is he?" I asked. "He is just a bloody wolf and an Alpha." Angus answered, very coldly. "That's all." "Angus, I'm feeling sleepy…" I suddenly announced, my hands resting on Angus's shoulder as I kept grumbling like a baby. "Cool my nerves for me." "How, darling?" Angus asked, smiling as he gently removed my hands. "Why did you take my hands off you?" I questioned him, frowning immediately. I couldn't know why I was getting pissed off at him, from time to time. "Nothing." Angus replied. "I just want to be, for now." "Did I injure your muscles last night?" I asked, winking at him and smiling. "I only made you feel at ease by comforting them. What do you think?" "Feel ease, you say?" Angus returned, blinking his eyes at me. "Even Sonia can't disturb me that much." "Sonia…" I said and kept reiterating him. "Sonia can't disturb you?" "Yes." Angus replied. "Who is Sonia?" I asked, turning my head to him as I reserved the frown. "Who is she?" "Sonia is just a friend…" Angus responded, "I won't say much about her. Don't you know I came to know you… from a faraway land? "I know, but, Angus…" I slurred. "Don't feel bad." Angus said, holding my chin as he suddenly rounded his lips towards me. "Kiss me, please!" I shouted, trying to make him agree and love me immediately as he had always wished to. I wondered why I was now falling for him. Both of us were stood in the center of the war room, the map of Arleta spread before us like a bloodied shroud. Angus’s hand remained on the black envelope, his knuckles white. The air in the room didn't just feel cold; it felt shocking, charged with the same old power I had felt the day I shifted in the air above the Thane Wrest pack."Angus," I said, my voice firm despite the trouble that rose from outside. "The silver dust, the kidnapping... they didn't just want to hurt us. They're looking for something. They're looking for her."Angus turned to me. The fire from the hearth reflected in his brown eyes, making them look like molten gold. He stepped toward me, his presence overwhelming, his obsession palpable. He didn't just love me; he looked at me as if I were the sun and the moon mixed together. It was like a prize he would burn the world to keep."They aren't looking for a 'her', Ellie," he whispered, his voice a low, dangerous rumble that vibrated in my chest. "They are looking
Two years passed. All the wars, challenges, and worries got me wondering deeply. Lachie was back with me in the mansion Angus got for us. As I walked to Angus's room to serve him his early morning tea as I had always done, I realized he wasn't around. "Angus?" "Mom, he is not here," Lachie added, his voice deep, having grown up. "I think he is on his training ground." "What is Angus training for again?" I snapped, holding Lachie by the hand. "I know you went for your training at a distant wolf academy. Do you think you will need another round of training after all that you've discovered by now?" "Not at all, mom..." Lachie whimpered, shrugging with his long hair swept behind his head. I felt comfortable by his response. Moreover, the name he called me was sweet to me. Lachie was already nineteen years old, and he was done with his studies at the Werewolf Academy. Suddenly, someone yelled from the palace, his voice resounding down the fence as he also rang the kingd
I sprinted as fast as I could towards the North Pass, stopping the edge of the large war zone where the mixed scent of blood, iron, and angry Lycans were strongest. I stayed well up on the ridges, looking like a shadow. From time to time, the growl of the Alpha King would reach me, vibrating deep within the ground, telling me he was right at the centre. It was a strange ground to me, but I had my strength intact as the enemy's chant echoed inside my head: “The Fated One will watch him bleed.”If they wanted her to see, she’d be right up front and out of harm’s way. Up high, near the Iron Fang command post. Then, I dashed to the west, leaving the main Beta-Three line behind, which was where Angus was.Suddenly, a giant Lycan dropped out of a tree, right in front of my path. It was a brown Iron Fang Sentinel, his eyes shining with shock. “The Luna! What are you doing here?” he snarled, immediately shifting.I did not waste words on talking. I charged, not really with my strength but w
The cool, sharp mountain air whipped past me as I ran. I was a fast, silver-gray wolf, pushing hard. My two Sentinels, Jax and Miko, ran close behind me. My head was loud with thoughts of the war and the old prophecy.“Focus, Ellie,” I told myself through the mental link, forcing my paws faster. Lachie first. The old story later. We reached the line that marked the Silent Peaks outpost. I slowed down, shifting my pace to save energy. I grabbed the special comm unit and kept my voice low. The words continued: Ellie to Kael: I’m at the Boundary Marker. Are the Iron Fang scouts still on you?Kael's voice was rough with strain. Kael: Luna! You shouldn’t be here! Yes. They are tired, but they won't stop. Lachie is slowing. He’s running hard in his wolf form, but he’s almost out of energy. It's critical. We’re about a half mile from Gamma-Nine. We need help. Now.Ellie: Hold your place near the three tall pines. Jax and Miko will make a fake scent trail at the river crossing. They will lea
"The prophecy is all around us,"The war room was just like a prisonyard. The large table mapped our troops' positions in a flash of lights, like shining dots of ants. But I couldn’t concentrate. My gut was full of fear. My mind was a thousand miles away, thinking of Angus.I turned around.Elder Letha was right beside me. There were worried lines forming on her face, deeper than normal tonight. “The tunnel evacuations are going smoothly," she whispered. “Is everything all right?”I took a sharp breath to steady my racing heart. "Angus... before he left, he asked me to track down an old legend. A quest for 'Future Luna.'"Letha's eyes went wide. “That old story? What's Ellie thinking about? Why is she bringing it up now, of all times?”"That's the point," I argued, drawing closer to her. "He believes the story is what's causing the war. Letha, why is Angus being primarily hunted? What's so vital to my husband that they'd put a thousand years of peace at stake for his capture?"She sig
The tension in the palace was unbearable, a need to quickly act out of the already strong fear everyone was feeling, and deployment. I watched from the command tower as the Alpha King, Angus, and his war-pack, a team of large, muscular Lycans disappeared into the northern forests. Ronan, in his imposing brown-furred Beta shift, was steady at Angus’s side.My focus immediately turned to the south. Lachie. Our Alpha Heir. I knew Kael’s team was fast, but the Southern Training Grounds were nearly fifty miles away, dangerously close to contested borderlands. I dashed through the marble floor of the tower, feeling useless.Elder Letha found me there, her eyes sharp and clear. “Luna. Your distress is clouding the communication lines. The Sentinel Betas can sense it.”“My distress is justified, Elder Letha. The Heir is there alone. Tell me honestly, how safe are those mountain paths Kael is taking?”“As safe as any trail during a war, Luna. But Kael is clever. He won’t be detected. The la
Unfortunately, nobody found out about the wolf that suddenly appeared in our midst while at the meeting. I was shocked and worried, but Alpha Angus, my newly announced Alpha mate, was more worried than I was. He never wanted intrusion of any stranger wolf in his pack. Angus couldn't hold the feel
It was a bright day again and our ship was still moving so I began to wonder if Arleta was that far from Glasgow, where the Leak Horse, our pack, had fully relocated to. My eyes were engaged with the beautiful creatures around the seashore, the islands and many other areas, which were surrounded by
Suddenly, I felt Angus's hands touch mine and as soon as pleasure made me flinch, I looked at him to see what he was doing. Angus was right behind me, and I didn't know he had already had my buttocks open. I shifted my gaze to him, tried to shake myself off him. I wasn't feeling the urge to surren
Angus grabbed me to his side as water almost caught me and drenched the hell out of me. I was literally touched by the water underneath the enemy pack wolves that were splashing into the ship. I was thinking deeply and I had no choice but to keep mute for a while. Ronan had advised that no one said
