MasukIsabella couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
They were discussing her marriage—without even asking her.
Panic surged through her as she pushed the door open and blurted out, “I won’t marry Killian Nightbane!”
Her father's head snapped toward her, eyes darkening. “What did you just say?” he growled, his voice laced with the full force of his Alpha command.
It was the voice that made warriors tremble, made pack members drop to their knees in submission. But for some reason, it never worked on Isabella. Not when she was a child. Not now.
And today, once again, she stood tall—unaffected.
“Please, Father,” she said, her voice cracking as she stepped forward, eyes glistening with tears. “Don’t do this to me. I’ve waited my whole life for my mate. I’m going to be eighteen next month… I’m so close. I just need time. I can’t marry someone who’s not my mate.”
Her father’s expression didn’t change. Cold. Distant.
But it was her mother who scoffed, venom dripping from her words.
“You really think a cursed she-wolf like you has a mate? Your wolf didn’t even bother to show up—because no one would ever accept something as weak and pathetic as you.”
Her wolf stirred within her then—not with rage, but sorrow. She rarely surfaced when others were around, choosing silence and stillness over presence. Isabella didn’t understand why. It made people talk. Made them think her wolf was broken. Cursed.
But no matter what they said, Isabella never blamed her. Her wolf was a part of her. And if protecting her meant taking all the blame alone—so be it.
“Then why would a powerful Alpha like Killian Nightbane accept me?” Isabella asked softly, her voice low but steady.
She had heard the stories. Everyone had. Killian Nightbane was feared across every pack. The most powerful of all werewolves. Ruthless in battle, cold in leadership. The future Alpha King of the entire werewolf community, and soon to take a seat on the High Council.
But despite his rank and strength, his morals were anything but noble.
He was a heartless monster—a known playboy who lured she-wolves with his looks and charm, used them to warm his bed, and discarded them if they dared to ask for more than a night.
Isabella didn’t want to be with a beast who hadn’t even respected the bond of a mate enough to wait.
“Listen, you little brat,” her father growled in irritation. “I need protection for my pack, and they need a bride for the future Alpha King. The council demanded he settle down before the crowning ceremony. It’s a simple deal.”
Isabella’s heart sank. “And you… sold me off?” she gasped, her voice trembling. “But… shouldn’t it be Jessica marrying him? She’s your firstborn.”
“Come on, sis,” Jessica chuckled, her tone laced with mock offense. “Do I look like someone who would marry a mad, murderous playboy Alpha? No way. I already have my mate—and I’ll only ever marry someone charming, like Alpha Hunter Knight of the Blood Moon pack. No one could ever compare to my mate.”
Her smug tone dripped with superiority, each word meant to make Isabella feel small, pathetic, and unlucky.
“Don’t be so selfish, Isabella,” her father snapped. “You can at least do this much for your pack and your Alpha. It’s time you repaid the favor of them keeping you all these years.”
Isabella stared at him, stunned.
Favor? Wasn’t it a parent’s responsibility to care for their child? To protect them? When did that become a debt she had to repay? Her mother’s voice followed, calm but laced with pressure.
“Our pack needs this pact to secure his protection. If you back out now, we won’t survive the next attack. And maybe… maybe the Alpha King himself will kill us for defying him. So think carefully, Isabella.”Isabella lowered her gaze, heart heavy. She didn’t want this. But she also couldn’t bear to see her people die, not when she could stop it. No matter how much it cost her.
With a deep breath, she swallowed the lump in her throat and whispered,
“All right. I’ll marry Alpha Killian Nightbane.”Ethan leaned down, his breath warm against the shell of her ear. “Princess, you don't need to fear me, because I could never truly hurt you. I won't do a single thing you don't want—but you do need to learn how to submit.”With a smooth, deliberate motion, he reached up to loosen his tie, tugging it free from his collar and pulling it completely from his neck.Rose gasped, her heart hammering against her ribs as she felt the silk fabric wrap snugly around her wrists, securing them behind her back. “Make me if you can,” she challenged, her voice a breathless defiance.“You need to learn to respect your husband,” Ethan murmured darkly. He gripped her hip and rolled her over onto her back, shifting his weight so he could look directly into her eyes. Even pinned beneath him, a defiant smirk played on her lips. Ethan shook his head, a possessive growl vibrating in his chest as he hovered just inches above her. His gaze dropped, locking onto her intoxicating mouth, watching the subtle swallo
Ethan's hand remained wrapped tightly around her waist. He threaded his other hand through her hair, completely unraveling her neat bun as his fingers locked into the dark blonde strands, tilting her head back to fully expose the delicate expanse of her neck.Rose closed her eyes the moment his head descended. When his lips pressed against her marking spot, a sudden firework of electric sparks erupted against her skin. He nipped at the sensitive flesh before his tongue slicked over the spot, igniting a fierce, burning desire deep within her. Rose had to bite down hard on her lower lip to stifle the desperate moan threatening to escape her throat. She was utterly lost in his seduction when a sudden, stinging pain pierced through the fog. Ethan's sharp canines sank deep into her skin, permanently marking her as his.Instantly, Rose felt their bond snap into place, growing exponentially stronger as their very souls reached out and fused together. She let out a sharp hiss when his fangs fi
Because Killian was so completely focused on his mate, Rose cleared her throat loudly to steal some attention back from her brother.“Someone has forgotten that it's my special day,” she complained, playfully pouting her lips at him. “I need to be admired too, you know.”Killian laughed heartily, the spell breaking as he looked down at her. “Look at you. My baby sister has grown into a beautiful woman. I am so proud of you, Rose.” He stepped forward, wrapping her in a warm, protective brotherly hug. When he pulled back, Rose hooked her other arm through Killian's. With her two handsome men on either side of her, they began walking her down the aisle toward her groom.Rose's heart pounded nervously against her ribs as she took slow, measured steps along the velvety red carpet. She kept her head bowed slightly, too shy to look up. She could already feel the intense heat of Ethan’s gaze burning into her from the moment she had stepped into the hall. Rose knew that if she dared to look up
Today, Rose was on cloud nine. It was finally her wedding day—a day she had dreamed of ever since she first learned that her secret love and childhood crush, Ethan, was her true fated mate.Though they had dated steadily after discovering the bond, Ethan had exercised incredible self-control. He had never pushed her beyond passionate kisses and gentle caresses, fiercely determined to wait until their wedding night to officially mark and mate with her. Even when the pull of the bond made it nearly impossible to keep their hands off each other, Ethan had honorably kept his promise. Now, the wait was over. Today was their wedding, and Rose felt like the happiest bride to ever live. She wore a customized, designer white wedding gown made of the finest silk and delicate netting. Brilliant diamonds were embedded along the elegant neckline, and intricate silver threadwork shimmered across the entire dress. Killian had gone above and beyond for his sister, flying the designer in directly from
There was a firm knock on the door. Killian opened it to find Ethan standing on the threshold, a food tray held carefully in his hands. The moment Ethan saw the Alpha King already inside Rose’s room, a sudden flash of worry crept across his expression.“Is she okay?” he asked urgently.Without waiting for a response, Ethan walked straight past Killian, practically brushing him aside in his haste to reach his mate. When he stepped inside and saw Rose sitting safely on the bed, a deep breath rushed out of him—a release of air that made it clear he had been holding it in absolute panic.“I am sorry, princess,” Ethan said softly, crossing the room to set the tray on the mattress beside her. “I was busy this morning with the interrogation of those filthy Blue Wolves and couldn't come to check on you sooner. But when I returned to the pack house and found out you hadn't eaten anything yet, I brought this up myself. You have to finish it all.”He offered her a warm, sweet smile, but Rose onl
Killian gently guided Rose back to her chambers. Closing the door to shield her from the rest of the pack house, he looked down at her pale face and ordered softly, “Now, rest for a while, and then I will take you back to the pack doctor.”“There's no need,” Rose whispered, a single tear spilling over her lashes and dropping down her cheek.Killian sighed heavily, his expression softening as he stepped closer. “Stop crying for that bastard, Rose.”Rose’s lips trembled, but she nodded in bitter agreement. “You’re right. I thought... I thought he could change after seeing the destruction of his own kind with his own eyes. But no. He will never learn from his mistakes." She covered her face, her shoulders shaking. "But I feel so helpless, Killian. I can’t bear to watch everyone of my blood die just like that.”“Rose, look at me,” Killian coaxed gently, lifting her chin. “I am here.Your brother. You have Father, and you have Isabella. You are not alone.”“Arthur is the last piece of Mother
“Alpha Killian,” George said in his still-sleepy voice as he tied the knot of his robe. “Is everything alright?” He asked in confusion.Killian didn’t bother to answer. He strode straight into George’s room and asked in a sharp and authoritative tone. “Why is my wife staying in an Omega’s quarters?
He was momentarily speechless, staring at her with conflict flickering in his green eyes.“Do you love Maya?” she murmured again, her eyes fixed on his face, a mix of hope and fear in them, searching for an answer. She needed to know. After what had just happened between them—the longing in his touc
“I’m still saying it’s a bad idea to call her back to the pack,” Alpha George said to his Luna, his voice tight with fear. “What if the danger comes after her… and we all get caught in its claws because of her?”Linda leaned back, her expression bored but her eyes cold. “George, nothing will happen
Killian stood in the bathroom, palms pressed against the shower wall, cold water pouring over his naked body. Nothing helped—nothing drowned out the emotions Isabella’s single touch ignited in him. He wanted to forget, to deny, but the truth burned in his veins. What was going on with him, and why
