Chapter 3 The Other Woman

"Leo, you've been so busy today. I'm so bored all alone."

Through the camera, I watched as Gracie tried to loop her arms around Leo's neck, but he subtly stepped back before she could touch him. Unwilling to give up, she drew circles on his chest. "Leo, don't you love me anymore? Didn't you see my text?"

He grabbed her chin. His gaze turned cold with a warning. "I told you not to contact me if I don't message you first. If Quincy finds out, I won't let you off!"

Gracie's eyes turned red. "But I just missed you so much."

Seeing that he was unmoved, she hugged him from behind. Her voice trembled, "Leo, I just… I love you so much."

The next second, she rose onto her tiptoes and kissed him. Her hands grabbed his belt. Leo stiffened for a second and returned the kiss with even greater passion. After that, they stumbled into the elevator together.

My heart finally froze over as I watched the scene unfold. I stopped the recording and got in the cab.

When I got home, I did not turn on the lights. I sat on the sofa in the darkness, replaying the video over and over.

Then, my phone screen lit up. A notification from Gracie's social media account appeared.

In the photo, she was wearing a pure white wedding gown. Her stomach was slightly rounded, and her face glowed with happiness.

In her caption, it said, "I can't wait to wear this wedding dress. Our baby and I are waiting for you."

My blood ran cold. I could not believe that she was pregnant. And somehow, she was wearing the wedding dress I had designed myself.

I rushed to the bedroom and yanked the wedding dress I had picked up that morning from the closet. Without hesitation, I grabbed a pair of scissors and cut it into pieces.

Every shred of fabric carried my love, my dreams, and the future I had believed in. It should have broken my heart. Instead, I had never felt so calm.

By evening, Leo came home. Perhaps out of guilt, he arrived carrying a gift box and wearing the same gentle smile he always did. "Quincy, the boutique you love just released a new custom necklace."

He came over and hugged me from behind. His voice was soft with apology, "The meeting got delayed. I'm sorry. Look at the custom-made necklace I got you. You'll look stunning wearing it at the wedding."

He opened the box, all the while looking like a child eager to show off a treasure. Inside lay a dazzling diamond necklace. Tiny diamonds shimmered beneath the light, arranged into the letters Q & L.

Smiling, he lifted his wrist, revealing the engraving on his watchband. His eyes were full of warmth. "Quincy, this is my promise to you. The diamonds made with our initials will last forever, just like my love for you. You'll become my wife in a couple of days. I've waited for this day far too long."

A hint of nervousness laced his voice, and his fingers trembled slightly. But I remained silent.

Confusion flickered across his face, followed by the first hint of panic. Then, he noticed the wedding dress lying beside me that I had cut to ribbons.

"Quincy, why did you destroy the wedding dress you designed yourself?"

I looked up at him calmly. "Because I don't want something that's become tainted."
