Liora.

Outside, the air was still the same, cold, just the way I liked it, and yet, I didn't get the familiar comfort it used to give.

The snow was falling, Christmas lights flickered, merry Christmas songs weaved softly in the air, cars passed by, hooting, honking, and my eyes stung just from the sight. Life didn't pause at my sorrow, at my broken heart, if anything, it moved in full swing, and I had to watch, with bitterness and anger pulsating with my heartbeat, fingers tightly clenched as I wandered around in the city.

I had no destination in mind, but I kept moving. I wanted to be anywhere but near that shameless pair.

And yet, as if fate was bent on completely breaking me, I somehow ended up in the very venue, where my engagement with Tavian was supposed to happen. It was held in a famous hotel in the city, owned by my foster parents, the Quinns.

I walked in robotically, heading directly to the elevator and pressing the highest floor key, the rooftop. That's where the engagement was supposed to happen.

It was still happening, with the same groom, but a different bride, who happened to share the same surname with the one replaced, but, whose name carried more weight, more honour, Seris Quinn, the real princess of the Quinn family, their pride and jewellery. Because, she was wild enough, and her status fitted perfectly with that of the Knight's family's young master.. As for the adopted case? she was clearly not worth it. Didn't belong to their world.

At the thought of Tavian's earlier words, more tears clouded my vision, the elevator was moving, my heart was racing, and so were my thoughts.

When I finally stepped out of the elevator, which led directly to the venue, I was welcomed by a huge portrait, a vibrant picture of a couple.

It was Tavian and me. He was in a sharp black suit, and I was in a flowing red dress, inches closer to him, cheeks flushed, a delicate smile playing on my lips. He had his one hand snaked around my waist, and his eyes, as they held mine, were glossed by what I had thought was love, but now, a self-mocking smile tagged at the corners of my stiff lips at the ridiculous thought.

To him, it was just a role play, indulging in the woven lies that he'd fed me for years. For seven fucking years!

Out of anger, I took my keys from my purse, unclasped the small knife from the holder and dug it through the poster, stabbing his face, over and over, his eyes, his mouth, and his abdomen. It was a regret that I could only vent my anger on a lifeless portrait. It would have been better if I had been digging the keyholder's knife into his heart instead.

That evil bustard!

When there was nothing left to the picture, I went to the decorations, kicked the flower vases, ruined the million-dollar decorations, and it was not until everything was in a complete mess and ruins that I came to a halt, a victorious smile playing on my lips.

The ruins did nothing to ease the pain, but I was pleased. They wanted to get engaged? fine.

But not over my sweat and effort? I wasn't about to let it happen. The portrait was in a mess, the red carpet, the glistening neon lights were in pieces, and as I watched, the moment I had wanted to be sacred, reduced to nothing but ruins and nightmare, I sank to my knees, deep and heartwrenching cries seeping past my lips.

I didn't know how long it took, but by the time I was done weeping, done mourning over everything, the wasted love, time, and devotion, I had long run out of tears, and my voice was gone, too.

Darkness had long crept in, and I took shaky steps away, towards the exit, my heart still in shambles, but my spirit alive.

That was the last time I was shedding tears over Tavian and Seris. From then on, the seven years never happened.

Next to the Quinns' height, was a famous club, Midnight allure. I was never the partying type, but, fueled by anger, and something even darker, I found myself inside, sitting on a stool at the counter, having no knowledge about what to order, and yet, my throat parched at sight of the sizzling drinks that the bartender was mixing.

" Something louder, bitter.." I whispered, my eyes not even looking at him. He was some pretty face, and after Tavian's betrayal, I started resenting anything pretty. They were nothing but trouble, a bunch of sleazy fools!

" The kind that silences the world within and without." Noticing no movements from his side, I stressed, my eyes meeting his.

He said nothing, he just wore a knowing smile before he started mixing. At least, he was a professional.

" There!" He slammed the glass over the counter and supported his chin as he observed me. I didn't care.

I smiled in satisfaction when the contents burned through my throat. Finally, there was a bitterness that almost rivalled the one in my heart. Very good.

" Another one " I whispered, this time, shooting him a pleased smile. He knew what he was doing. Hells save his soul!

He asked no question, he served it, this time, hotter, and bitter than the first time, and before I knew it, the world around me was even, soft, merry, moving, once again.

I even wore a relaxed smile as I pushed the glass back to the bartender.

"Add me another one, handsome bartender. " I whispered, smiling.

" Make it hotter, bitter, I might tip you well," I winked, and he went at it.

" That's enough!" A firm and raspy voice cut through the air, and a deep frown was set on my lips.

" Who the f......" I turned, ready to give him a piece of my mind, but at the sight of his face, the words were stuck in my throat.

He was hot. No..He was sinfully breathtaking. The kind of beauty that made women willingly become concubines in medieval times. He was a man, not a boy like Tavian. Muscles that threatened to rip through his suit, delicately refined cheekbones, a sharp jaw line, and lips that...heavens! I was losing my mind.

"You have had enough drinks for the day, young lady!" It was a command, one that was supposed to anger me, but instead, it had me nodding furiously. He was so hot. He couldn't be wrong. Blame the alcohol.

" No more alcohol? That's fine, too." I whispered, moving from my stool and taking shaky steps towards him. F*ck! My alcohol tolerance wasn't great.

" How about some fun, then?" I suggested, licking my bottom lip, and his features darkened, jaws clenched.

" He broke my heart," I whispered, not caring about his stormy face.

" But he gave me an advice, " I added, my gaze slightly unfocused,

" He told me to shed my virginity. " At my words, another shade of darkness was added to his face.

"I think he was right," I suggested, shamelessly running my fingers over his shirt, actions that were only prompted by the strong alcohol burning through my system.

"You are hot, irresistible. It wouldn't be a loss to give my first to you.." I added, swaying in my steps, again, the alcohol.

" What do you say?" My gaze was almost pleading as I held his.

" As long as you won't regret it.." Deep and hungry, his voice cut through my senses..

" No, I won't. " I whispered,

But if I had known who he was,

I would have run, but not to his arms......

  • PREGNANT FOR MY EX’S BILLIONAIRE UNCLE    Can I take you somewhere?

Liora. Fashion was a language that I understood even before I knew what the name truly meant. I didn't know when my love for fashion and design really grew; it was a place that I found myself in, a place that I absolutely loved. In the past, when I felt like the world was truly crushing on me, I used to find peace in fabrics, needles and sewing machines. In the orphanage, we had a seamstress, a lady responsible for mending our torn clothes. Over the years that I had stayed in the orphanage, I had spent more time in her small, scrawny office than in the dormitory. I was very young then, but I was able to learn the basics from her. Even after so long, I could still remember how I had one day begged her to let me use her machine. And when she'd finally relented, my legs could barely reach the manual foot control. I had then burst into tears, a ball of frustration, for failing to utilise the golden chance. 'Auntie? I will one day own a big fashion house.' I didn't know w

  • PREGNANT FOR MY EX’S BILLIONAIRE UNCLE    A new beginning..

Liora. Because I wasn't his choice.... I swallowed bitterly as I thought, the realisation further ruining my mood. I didn't have a powerful family behind me. I didn't have the same social standing as him... But did that mean my fate was sealed, and I had to accept whatever fate brought my way? Did that mean I was supposed to remain at the bottom forever? "No!" I muttered under my breath, my fingers tightly clenched. I was done being someone that everyone looked down on. I was done being that easy to dismiss, to overlook. Capital Elite had provided me with an opportunity to rise from the ashes, and I was going to take it. I was going to be a force that everyone had no option but to bow to. So what if I were an orphan? I was not going to allow those statuses to define me. They had defined me for twenty years. Not anymore. With those thoughts, a smile, ghostly and almost serene, tacked at the corners of my lips. Slowly, I unclenched my fingers before I closed my eye

  • PREGNANT FOR MY EX’S BILLIONAIRE UNCLE    because.....

Liora "Your Aunt Astra and I need to talk," Soren stated, his voice deep and firm, leaving no room for arguments. For a moment, I was too shocked to even react, and when I finally snapped out of it, words betrayed me. Slowly, my gaze moved between Soren and Aunt Astra, silently asking questions that I couldn't voice out. Well, the two were too roped into whatever tension that pulsed between them to notice. At the end, I only pursed my lips, rose from the chair and slowly left the room, heading to the exit. At the door, I clenched and unclenched my nails as I stood there, hesitantly, the curious part of me begging me to linger a little longer and listen, while the decent part of me urged me to leave. At the end, I stood a few inches from the cracked door, my ears perked, as I shamelessly waited, if only to catch a few words, just to satisfy my curiosity. " What are you doing here, Mom?" Just then, Soren's familiar voice cut through the cracked door, and my hand imme

  • PREGNANT FOR MY EX’S BILLIONAIRE UNCLE    Excuse us.

Liora. "Do you two know each other?" I asked, curiosity flickering in my eyes. I didn't know why I decided to ask. Maybe because of the thinly veiled tension that pulsed between the two? Or, was it because of how they kept on staring at each other?... yeah. That. Coupled with how they resembled each other. For a moment, at my question, Soren froze, his hand, which was holding a folk, faltering, but only briefly. And, watching all that, then adding my earlier doubts, I was halfway convinced that my doubts were real. "What do you think?" After a moment of silence, Soren asked, his features straight and all composed, giving nothing away. For a moment, my resolve wavered, and I began questioning my own logic. Coming to think of it, maybe I was just overthinking, or maybe there was something the two weren't saying. Either way, did it even matter? Thinking about it was clearly pointless. Besides, it was not like I knew much about Aunt Astra either. For the years that we had kn

  • PREGNANT FOR MY EX’S BILLIONAIRE UNCLE    Do you?

Liora. "How do you know her?" The fork was a few inches from my lips when Soren asked, his voice deep and unreadable, and I froze, just momentarily, before a smile bloomed on my lips. Slowly, I placed the spoon back on the plate before I turned to face him, my eyes watering as memories from years ago resurfaced in my mind. "She and I have known each other for close to two decades now," I whispered, my voice all shaky. "Two decades." He wore a distant face as he repeated, as if he was trying to figure something out. Well, he also looked intrigued, and I took it as if he wanted to know more about me, my past and such. So, I went on. "She is kind and loving. If I were to make a wish, I would want to be her daughter in the next life, maybe?" I whispered, then I laughed at how silly that sounded. "We met under very strange circumstances," I added, a mocking smile tagging at the corners of my lips. Before, my life in the orphanage was genuinely horrible, but that was all.

  • PREGNANT FOR MY EX’S BILLIONAIRE UNCLE    How?

Liora. "What are we celebrating this time?" Aunt Astra asked, her eyes moving to Soren, who stood a few meters away, looking out of place. "Love?" before I could respond, she asked, and heat flooded my cheeks. Were we truly celebrating love? That sounded... warm? The thought itself had me blushing. "A lot of things!" After recomposing myself, I added, my features softening as I recalled all the good things that had happened to me recently. There was the baby, the graduation, the job, and maybe.... Love.. The thought had my hand immediately flying to my chest, as if trying to steady it. " This is Soren...." At the end, I couldn't bring myself to say all those things to Aunt Astra, and instead, I introduced Soren, my eyes softening as I looked at him. The fact that he had decided to follow me all the way in didn't fail to surprise me. Did he care about me... that much? "My husband," I added, and at the introduction, sounding so warm, so real, my cheeks heated up,

Liora " I have already signed the tie-severing forms." I stated, unconcealed joy lacing my words. It might have been in the middle of a disaster, I might have been unaware of what the future held, but the fact that I had finally regained my freedom from the Quinns' clutches was worth celebrati

Liora.. " Miss Liora here is carrying my child. " He declared, his eyes finding their way back to me, and I looked away, my nerves fraying, my knuckles going all white from being tightly clenched. I had never wished to magically disappear more than I currently did. Countless eyes were on me.

  • PREGNANT FOR MY EX’S BILLIONAIRE UNCLE    Call her aunt..

Liora. "Who dares call the Knight heir a bastard?" My adoptive father didn't get to finish, though. The door to the private room was yanked open, and a figure saubtered in, followed by a string of bodyguards. His powerful and imposing aura registered even before his face could. Thick ten

  • PREGNANT FOR MY EX’S BILLIONAIRE UNCLE    Who dares?

Liora. " You will marry a widower. " He stated, his tone laced with finality, like I didn't get to make a choice, like everything was set in a stone.. " You have always wanted to end things with this family, right?" Mrs Quinn asked, a perfect sneer etched on her face. In response, I found
