LOGINDarian’s pov
Grabbing my meal off the fire, I held the stick while the meat cooled. “Have you got my bag hidden by chance?” Grinning slightly I gestured toward the crushed vegetation she had plowed through and said, “It's probably where you dropped it.” Aria's cheeks reddened as she spied her bag and announced she was going to find an area to change. The moment she was gone Hella cleared her throat. “She could be the Sacred Shewolf but I can't be certain of it since I don't think she's had her first shift. She has Phoenix blood if her wound is cauterized but neither her unique blood nor firewolf has awakened fully.” Exhaling deeply, I tore off a piece of meat and handed it to Hella. “My lower regions have stirred and my heart skipped a beat. She could be my mate but hasn't given any indication of acknowledging it,” I mumbled reluctantly, causing the old witch to cackle uproariously. Narrowing my eyes at her she sobered, shook her head, and said, “Your Beta, Mora won't be pleased. She's been in your bed for years waiting for you to make her your Luna. She is jealous that her cousin Chloe will be marrying the soon-to-be Alpha Ronan.” Hearing Aria returning I put my index finger to my lips to quiet my advisor. Aria looked like a mystical warrior dressed in a tooled leather corset top and black jeans. I was impressed but her warrior ranking arm cuffs confused me. “Were you part of the Alpha's personal guard?” Eyeing me warily she shook her head and explained that her mom had been and that she was wearing her uniform for protection. “Want to tell me why you were sent across into this wasteland?” I pried and she shook her head then gave me a curt, “Nope.” Feeling her desire to end my questioning I tore off a bit of the roasted meat to offer to her. Her fingers took it from me delicately as she thanked me. “We must keep traveling so we get to my territory before the forsaken try to attack us,” I explained urgently. She didn't seem concerned and just shrugged while she gestured for me to continue onward. Stepping forward I paused momentarily and glanced at Aria. “Do you know who your father is?” She seemed insulted by my inquiry and growled, "No." My wolf Amoux, was as perplexed as I was with our newest guest. “I can't sense her wolf but I know she has one,” he growled sternly in my mind. Seeing my castle home in the distance, I grinned slightly at the sight, and Aria gasped. “Your pack house is in a castle?!” “Yeah, I became the rogue Alpha after defeating the castaways. There are members from the Ironclaw Pack who are now my subjects,” I explained nonchalantly and she eyed me strangely. “Aren't you concerned about a pack waging war against you and your land?” Hella started laughing before she said, “No one wants this cursed land or the wolves cast upon it.” “ALPHA!” I cringed at hearing Mora calling out at me and peered over at Aria, narrowing her eyes in Mora's direction. “Why is Chloe here?” Aria questioned and Hella answered, “That's Mora, Chloe's cousin. They are very similar, in looks and attitude.” The young woman's eyebrow raised as she watched Mora rush up before me then wrap her arms around my neck. I exhaled sharply while she planted a possessive kiss on the corner of my lips. “We have a new guest, Mora, please behave appropriately,” I asserted firmly and her eyes glared daringly at Aria. “Not another stray…which pack were you banished from?” She asked Aria but the young woman remained tight-lipped and shook her head refusing to answer. Shrieking Mora blurted, “I bet she's a criminal and I'm going to find out if she is right this instant. GUARDS!” Looking at her and the strangers coming towards her with her cousin Chloe in tow I glanced at Aria's frown. Not wanting Aria to be taken away I was surprised by Hella pulling on my arm and shaking her head at me. “She must be reborn,” my ancient sage whispered and I crossed my arms as Aria was bound by chains and being prepared to be returned to the Ironclaw Pack. Mora looked delighted with herself as she slithered back to my side and boasted about how I was so easily blinded by a sob story. “I heard she killed her own mother and Luna then seduced the Alpha," she mumbled and I eyed her incredulously not believing a single word of it. Before the Ironclaw guards could haul her back I asked what the plans were. Both guards eyed each other and the one I asked said, “She's accused of using a mate bewitchment spell on our Alpha and crossing onto the pack lands after being banished. Um, she will be burned at the stake either later today or tomorrow morning.” I knew Ronan was cruel but damn. Then again if Aria was the Sacred Shewolf flames would break her out. Chloe snickered and added it was her idea to see her fry in fire. Disgusted with that I peered at Aria and furrowed my brow at the sight of her. Instead of sobbing uncontrollably like a scared woman I saw anger and revenge swirling in her amber eyes. She was a steadfast warrior. “Are you certain she is carrying phoenix blood, Hella?” “Most definitely, Alpha.” They took Aria but I would watch to see if she indeed awakened her phoenix blood and was the Sacred Shewolf that Hella and I believed her to be.Queen Aria Ulfhedinn's povMonths have passed and today my daughter was screaming obscenities from the birthing chamber making me chuckle.“Breath, sweetie,” I reminded her.Panting heavily she growled, “Where is Lark?! He should be present for the birth of his son!”“I sent the staff to retrieve him so calm yourself, Aella. Your husband will come,” I asserted firmly.I watched her face contort in pain and felt sympathetic towards her.“I know dearest but the pain will be forgotten once your little prince enters the world,” I encouraged and she glared daggers at me.Thankfully the door flew open and Lark came rushing in with panic plastered on his face.“I'm so sorry sweetheart, I had to take care of some underground issues,” he stated and Aella eyed him with contempt.“What happened to the advisor?” She questioned and Lark groaned.“You forgot about him going to Finland to visit his parents?”“Yeah,” she squeaked out as another hard contraction came.“Where's the midwife? She needs
Aella Durin's povRubbing my swollen abdomen I sat beside Lark, whom I was feeding. His eyes glowed at me as I waved the morsel that was stabbed on the fork before him.“You'd better eat so our child grows healthy,” he scolded and I stuck my tongue out at him.“Maybe you could get your lazy ass out of bed and feed yourself,” I mumbled teasingly and he grabbed me and pulled me on top of himself. The fork tumbled to the floor.Giggling, I asked him what he was planning on doing.Pinching his lips he hummed and said, “Ravishing you sounds fun but your new staff person might interrupt us.”Frowning I growled, “I'm furious with your dad for taking Briar from me. He'd better treat her well on the trip he took her.”Shaking his head he chuckled, “It wasn’t a trip, dear. He retired and expects you and me to take over his throne after you give birth.Poking his chest I added, “And we must wed per my parents.”Pulling me close he pressed his lips against mine and kissed me tenderly while he cu
Queen Aria Ulfhedinn pov Helping my daughter put Lark into her bed, I hugged her and wished her luck getting him back to health. “If you need anything, just ask,” I told her. “I will ask for Briar's help, you have more pressing matters considering your position, Mom,” she grinned then added, “But thanks for helping.” The Goddess smiled at us both and exhaled deeply. “I'm going to punish Elara. Ah Aella, don't be surprised if Lark's father resigns and offers Lark the throne.” My daughter swallowed uncomfortably and nodded before she brushed Lark's black bangs from his face. “I will get him back to full health.” “Come my conduit we must speak frankly with each other,” the Goddess announced toward me. Furrowing my brow I was curious about what more she had to discuss but I did as she requested. “Your daughter will be an excellent nurse for her mate,” she informed me as I followed after her. Once in the hall she turned around to face me. “Aria, you must learn to manage things
Queen Aria Ulfhedinn pov“I do!” I answered the representative who was officiating Frost's and my abrupt wedding before the entire kingdom and guests. My daughter was clapping her hands excitedly for her new father and me while our son was on Nathan's shoulders cheering happily.“You may kiss your bride, your highness.”Frost lifted me off my feet and kissed me until my toes curled. The crowd erupted into hearty cheers, and after my now-husband set me down, I glanced over at my daughter, who was wringing her hands worriedly.Curious about what had happened with Lark and his parents, I headed toward her after I informed Frost of my concern. He pointed at the Moon Goddess addressing the crowd and whispered, “Just wait a moment longer.”Huffing in frustration I cocked my brow and moved slowly toward Aella then grabbed her hand just as the Goddess announced my name and glanced around for me.Frowning at my daughter I turned to plaster a huge smile onto my face as I went to the Goddess's s
Princess Aella Durin's pov Landing on my feet in the dank abyss I called my flame to my hand to see where I was to go. Spying flickering lights up ahead I hurried toward it. My footsteps crunched on the gravel as I stopped then peeked around a corner. “Help me find Lark, Mystic,” I murmured while I sniffed the stale air trying to find his scent. Seeing the shadow of something huge nearing I hurried back around the corner and knelt near a stone. “That bitch gets away with so much, I can't believe that Drarath gives in to her every demand,” the creature growled sourly. Thinking that I could handle the big lug I decided to be bold. Standing abruptly, I had startled the large demon, but his eyes still narrowed at me when I asked if he would take me to the elf who had been traded. “I'm his mate and want to be certain that he is the one who is here,” I explained and he nodded and gestured for me to follow him. We traveled further underground and my heart began to ache in my chest
Princess Aella Durin's pov I woke to Katerina sitting on the edge of the mattress and furrowed my brow. “Where's Lark?” Startled, she stood quickly and wrung her hands. “Oh you have finally awakened, um Lark wants me to take you back to your room at the castle after you get dressed in that so that you can make your mother's acceptance party,” Katrina mumbled as she pointed down at a stunning black gown on the bed. Raising my brow, I asked her again about Lark's whereabouts, and she pursed her lips. “He went to inform his mom that he and I aren't interested in each other…and that you and he are now marked, mates.” “Oh,” I said as I rubbed his mark that was covering my neck and arm. “That is really lovely,” Katrina commented and I smiled. “Do all elves have the gift of teleportation?” Nodding slowly she told me that all elves regardless of status had gifts. “I will get changed and then you can transport me,” I mumbled, making her grin and nod. Slipping the gown o
Aria’s pov I was taken directly to the Alpha's house. Expecting to see his father in the Alpha's office I was greeted instead by Ronan, sitting at the desk. Leave her,” he growled at the guards. They scurried out of the room quickly leaving me cuffed before Ronan. “My father passed away dur
Aria's POV The truck stopped, and I glanced out at the vast expanse of the tundra, also known as the bone forest, since all that was there were the hollow, dead trees, weeds, and scattered remains of the dead cast out there. Apprehension filled me as I was drop-kicked from the truck bed then orde
Aria's POV He walked straight up to me, grabbed my arms, and started kissing me. As I tried to turn my head away he pressed against me more roughly. Disgust filled me at the thought of my first kiss ever being given by Ronan. Shaking my head I struggled to shove him off and instead, he pulled me c
Aria's POV I am Aria Hurik, an omega-born shewolf of the Ironclaw Pack, though still technically part of the pack, I'm treated as an outcast due to a devastating incident from my past.
