LOGINEveryone around was shocked when they heard her reject him. Everyone knew about her crush on him, even though they never spoke about it. Now, she was rejecting him after being given the chance to be with him.
“What do you mean by you're rejecting me? Odessa, did I do something wrong?” Lucas asked, drawing almost everyone's attention. A smirk appeared on her lips. He was the one drawing attention to himself, and she didn't want to have any of it. “Please, Lucas, I'm not interested in being your mate. And besides, your relationship with Emma shouldn't be ruined by me.” Odessa gestured towards Emma, who looked stunned, just like Lucas did. “How did you—” he asked, looking around with a stunned expression. “You still want me as your mate despite being in a beneficial relationship with my sister. Why would I even do that?” Odessa rolled her eyes, her arms still folded across her chest. “I get you don't want to be rejected by your mate and still want to keep a relationship with your side woman. But I won't accept that.” And everyone looked at Emma and Lucas in shock. They were secretly lovers, and no one knew about it. “On top of it all, Emma has been selected to go to the Blood Moon Pack to meet Alpha Desmond. And the Alpha stated the person should still be pure, but Emma is far from being pure.” Odessa said, and the whole place started to fill with murmurs. “That's enough, Odessa.” Her father grabbed her arm, but he was stopped by the Alpha. “Is this true, Emma?” he asked, as Emma fidgeted with her hands, gently looking around nervously and then at Lucas. “I'm afraid I'll be taking that as a yes. Since you have decided to lie to me, you will be punished. Now, who would like to go instead of her?” “My Alpha,” Odessa hurriedly chipped in with a bright smile on her face. Everyone was stunned again to see her volunteering to go to the most ruthless Alpha in the current pack's history. Alpha Desmond had requested that one of the noble daughters come to his pack and get married to him since he hadn't found his mate yet, and he needed an heir. No woman in her right senses would volunteer to go into his den. Because walking into a lion's den was much safer. In her past life, she had heard nothing much about him and just knew Emma returned because he had sent her out of his pack. Who knew what she did that time around? “Are you sure about it?” her father asked, walking over to her with a nervous look. “He isn't a very easy person to deal with.” “But you want Emma to go? Why? So she would enjoy the benefits I shouldn't?” Odessa asked, and her father laughed nervously, trying to avoid the talk. “Why would you like to go to the Blood Moon Pack instead of your sister?” the Alpha asked Odessa, who looked at him for a few seconds before replying. “I'd prefer having a husband far away from home since your son had disappointed me by being with my sister while pretending he wants to be with me. Then I would opt for going to the Alpha.” Odessa replied confidently. “You might not return.” “Well, I don't see the need to return. I'm not wanted anyway, and I don't mind never returning either,” she replied. And the Alpha approved her leaving. “You can't be serious, Odessa.” Her father, Elias, walked after her as she walked towards their room after the party. “I can't let you go there.” “Why don't you want me to go there?” Odessa asked him as she got to her door, signaling back to look at him with a raised brow, signifying she was listening to his explanation. “Desmond is a ruthless man. He can kill you for any little misunderstanding. I have lost your mother. I don't want to lose you too for any reason at all.” He calmly said, and she just looked at him for a few seconds before letting out a sigh. “Good night, Father,” she replied, pulling the door open to get into her room. As she closed the door, she immediately slipped to the floor, burying her face between her knees. “Are you sure you want to do this?” Aria asked her with a calm voice. “Like they said, I might be in danger.” “Do we have a choice? He is the only ticket to get out of dying again. I want to stay as far away from them as possible. Once we get to Desmond, we'll find a way to take care of it.” Odessa said, pushing herself up to start packing her things. She knew she wouldn't be needing much of it, but she packed them anyway. Alpha Devon, Lucas's father, had asked her to start preparing as she would be leaving once it was morning. She remembered Emma leaving a day after the mating ceremony. Also, because clearly Alpha Desmond wanted a woman who had no mate, so to confirm that she had no mate, they made it the day after the mating ceremony. As she stood in her room about to fall asleep, she heard a knock on her door. Looking down at the floor, she watched the shadow there. She walked over to the door, pulled it open, and saw Emma standing there in her night dress, her arms folded across her chest. Probably looking at her in that dress brought back the memories of the day Odessa met Emma and Lucas in bed in her past life. “What do you want, Emma?” “What were you thinking, Odessa? You just ruined my chance of living a perfect life with Alpha Desmond's wealth. What were you thinking?” Emma half yelled, keeping her voice as low as she could so she wouldn't draw their father's attention. “What? Do you have a problem with me having what you want? Besides, if you have Lucas, you can get everything you want from him because I'll tell you, you two are the perfect match.” Odessa replied, leaning against the door with a serious look. “What do you mean? You've been acting differently since you left the gathering this afternoon. What has gotten into you to try defying what I tell you to do? All I'm doing is for your own good.” “Do you want to go there and be treated like trash despite having the position?” Emma asked with a raised brow. If it was in the past, Odessa would have easily given in. But not anymore. She wasn't going to do that and let Emma treat her like a fool, which she wasn't. “Thank you very much for your concern, Emma, but I'll take it from here. I don't want you meddling in my business. You've done enough for now.” Emma's expression twisted in anger, but she just nodded and walked out on Odessa, fuming. “Why is she suddenly so smart and can tell what is right and what is wrong? How did she even know about Lucas and me?” Emma mumbled through gritted teeth before heading towards her room. As she pushed the door open, she saw Lucas sitting on her bed, looking lost in thought. “What's wrong, babe?” Emma asked, walking over to him before kneeling between his open legs. She lifted his chin gently to look at her, but he wasn't pleased to see her at all. “What's wrong? Do you want me now?” she asked, pulling off her night dress robe, but he stood up, pushing her out of his way, which made her stunned. “Lucas?” “I don't think we should see each other again, Emma.”Desmond's eyes snapped open. He immediately closed them back. When the lights made him wince, a headache started to form at the back of his head. His mouth was dry like he had chewed sandpaper and spat it out. His throat felt even worse. He tried to remember what had happened to him, but came up blank. He recognized the white ceiling when he first opened his eyes. This was his room. But how did he get here? He slowly peeled his eyes open again. This time, his eyes were able to adjust to the bright lights. Turning his gaze to scan the room, he stopped abruptly when he noticed her sitting in front of him. Odessa was in a chair close to the bed with her eyes closed. Probably she had fallen asleep while watching over him. His eyes roamed her face, taking in her serene features, although she was sleeping in an uncomfortable position. She still managed to look absolutely breathtaking.
What do you want? Odessa asked the Alpha in front of her. He had barged into her pack without invitation and permission. This was her territory. She could have him killed and buried, and no one would care. Straight to business, huh? She wanted to punch the infuriating smirk off his stupid face, although she was also curious to hear why he was here. He came from his pack just to meet with her. His reason must surely be valid. I do not have the strength for games, Alpha Seth. I asked what it was you wanted. She bristled. She did not want to beat around the bush. She had a lot on her plate, and he was just another nuisance coming to disturb her peace. Tsk. I came to offer my help in finding your mate. Alpha Seth dropped the bomb on them. Odessa's lips parted in confusion to ask him why. She had almost killed him the last time they met, and he had insulted her for choosing a mate over power. So why was he saying he wanted to help her? Was this a trick? Did
They had waited in the car till it was midnight. That was when they saw him come out of the strange-looking motel and walk over to a black car. He got in and started to drive away. Seth decided to wait for at least 20 min before he followed behind him, so he wouldn't suspect anything. They drove for a while till they arrived at what looked like a sea harbor. Odessa inhaled deeply, the salty scent of the sea invading her nostrils. The sounds of the waves splashing against the docks could be heard, as well as the distant hooting of ship horns. Seth turned to look at the woman seated next to him. From her silver-colored hair to her eyes, which were hidden behind her closed lids. To her sharp nose, which led to pink, plump lips. He wondered how someone could be so beautiful and be oblivious to it. He couldn't help but feel jealous of the Alpha. He had a stro
Where are those people now?" Odessa asked curiously, but she had a feeling she already knew. "Dead. They are all dead." Odessa recoiled at his statement. The weight of it settled on her shoulders. Her mate had taken lives once again, and she didn't do anything to stop him. "What was the cause of death?" Odessa asked the policeman, who seemed to be hypnotized by her looks. He just kept on staring at her like a creep. She didn't mind him looking as long as he told her what she needed to know. "Well, multiple lacerations on the chest with an unknown weapon. And a lot of beheadings. We couldn't identify some things because the killer had burned the whole place to the ground, probably to destroy evidence." The policeman rubbed his double jaw and adjusted his hat. "Any ideas on who the killer may be? One thing is that they disappear into thin air every single time. Unidentifiable fingerprints and DNA. It makes no sense.
The room was painted red with blood. Odessa watched with morbid fascination as he moved so smoothly, so fluidly. Killing and maming everything in his path. A man dressed in the same black attire as the others tried to sneak up on him from behind, but realized too late that it was a mistake on his part. His head was ripped clean off his shoulders. In a second, blood gushed out from the severed vessels as his lifeless body dropped to the ground dead. Her eyes widened as she saw him pick up another man, this one she recognized as the blonde guy who approached her in the club earlier. Without hesitation, his claws sank into the man's chest. His shrill screams fell on deaf ears, along with hers. He pulled out his hand, and a sickening, squelching sound could be heard. He sunk his claws back into the man again and again and again. Till his insides decorated the floor in front of them.Des, please, please stop. She p
"Des." Her voice cracked when she called his name. It's been so long since she last saw him. She couldn't help tracing every feature on his face and engraving it into her mind. His hair had grown longer and fuller since the last time she saw him. The luscious, dark locks fell to caress both sides of his neck. His dark brows were pulled down into a frown, and his straight nose led to full pouty lips. "Odessa." His gruff voice whispered over the loud music. He recognized her. She wondered if he was sane right now. Apart from the red eyes, he wasn't attacking her or anyone else. "Can we talk?" She asked slowly, treading lightly around him. She didn't want to scare him away. "No." Was his immediate answer. "You shouldn'
Odessa walked into the pack house, which was strangely bigger on the outside than it was on the inside. It looked so beautiful. And she wondered how they allowed this many people in the pack house. “The ground floor is always very busy. Please follow me, my lady.” Ge
Odessa walked out of her room dressed in a beautiful black off-shoulder dress, which was made with an expensive-looking and stretchy material that glued to her curves and stopped just on her knees. The dress hugged her figure elegantly, enhancing her silhouette. Odessa walked down the stairs, w
I just wish I could get a second chance.” The words echoed in a deep, dark void. Everything seemed still and calm for a while before a bright light started piercing through the darkness. A gasp was heard as Odessa suddenly sat up in bed, looking around her as she touched herself frantically. “W
The soft sounds of a car halting could be heard in front of the apartment building. As a sports car pulled over, the door was pushed open, and a beautiful leg covered in sneakers stepped out of the car. Looking up at the building with a bright smile on her face, Odessa was holding a large box in
