RHONDA

“Fuck...” Theodore sighed and rubbed his palm over his face with unmistakable regret. “You were not supposed to find out this way.”

So it had been Theodore all along, poisoning my little boy’s mind and making him believe this home wrecker was his biological mother. I almost lost my life giving birth to him, and no one could take my place in his life.

“How dare you, Theodore?” My voice croaked out. “How dare you call another woman my son’s biological mother?”

“Rhonda,” he stepped closer and tried to touch me, but I yanked his hand away.

“Do not touch me!” I growled.

I was done. Completely done with the pretense, the lies, the disrespect. I had swallowed enough humiliation. Not anymore. It was just too much.

“There’s something you need to know, Rhonda,” he said calmly, infuriatingly calm despite my obvious distress. “Let’s go somewhere private so I can explain everything.”

“There’s no need to sugarcoat anything,” Layla chimed in and shoved her phone in my face, the screen glowing brightly. “See the maternity test. Leo’s DNA has a ninety-nine percent match with mine. In other words, Leo is my son.”

Utter nonsense.

The words echoed in my head as I stared at her, my blood boiling. I did not believe a single piece of trash she had just spewed, yet my hands moved on instinct. I snatched the phone from her grip and skimmed through the document.

Layla and Leo’s names were both on it, and at the bottom of the page, it stated that Layla was Leo’s biological mother.

My eyes widened in shock, and my stomach twisted into knots.

“This is impossible!” I groaned and literally flung the phone at her.

Fucking my husband must have made her so delusional to think she could claim my little pup as hers.

I could not stand their delusion and disrespect anymore. So, without another word, I bent down, scooped Leo into my arms, and stormed out of the infirmary, ignoring all his screams and protests.

Every head in the infirmary turned to watch us, but no one dared intervene. No one could stop a mother from taking her own child.

Back at the Rose Hall, I instructed one of the Omegas Leo seemed to be fond of to watch over him and made sure he ate well.

To keep my son, I had to be stricter now and restrict her access to him. I did not care if he hated me anymore. Desperate times required desperate measures.

Later that day, the Rose Hall received an unexpected visitor.

Theodore’s mother.

Agatha.

The woman who had despised me from the very moment her son married me barged into my bedroom without knocking. I was seated on the edge of my bed, my laptop open as lines of code glowed across the screen.

She used to be the Diamond Moon Pack’s Luna but moved to a private estate after her husband passed and had lived there ever since.

I snapped my laptop shut and narrowed my eyes on her.

“Hi, Agatha!” I forced a wide smile onto my face. “Good day to you.”

“There’s nothing good about this day,” she snapped, her frown deepening as she strutted further into the room, her heels clicking sharply against the marble floor.

She wore a flowing white maxi dress, her neck, wrists, and ears heavily adorned with glittering crystal diamonds. Her blonde hair was pulled back into a tight, immaculate bun. She was elegant, as usual.

She pinned her green yes on me. “Where is Leo? I learnt he was forcefully taken from the infirmary. You barren gold digger!”

Her words stung my insides. After Leo, I had tried conceiving again despite the risk I went through the first time, just to please Theodore and his mother. But all my attempts were futile. Agatha had not missed the opportunity to use that against me ever since.

I bit my inner cheek to restrain my rage, wanting to maintain my respect for her.

But what she said next made me lose my shit.

“My precious Layla is the only woman I approve of, and I am just glad to know that she’s his real mother and not you, disgraceful scum.”

“Layla is not my son’s mother!” I growled. My body burned with so much rage, I was sure my fangs would have slipped out if I still had my wolf.

“Nonsense!” she snapped as she pulled out a piece of paper from her luxury red bag and flung it at me. “After I was told, I did not believe it until I had my own test done.”

I hurriedly picked up the paper and skimmed through it. Different hospitals, but the same result.

“This is impossible. Leo is my son!” I retorted in disbelief.

They all saw how much I suffered bringing him into the world. How was this possible? What sort of hospital produced fake results?

The door suddenly opened, and Theodore rushed in.

He sighed heavily and ran his fingers through his hair. “Mother, I told you I would handle it.”

“If you were capable, you would have done that five weeks ago!” she retorted.

Pressing his lips tightly together, he closed the distance between us. He tried to touch me, but I yanked my hand away immediately.

“Do not!” I gritted out.

“You see why I warned you not to marry her?” Agatha sneered from behind him. “She’s disrespectful. Even to you.”

Theodore ignored her.

“I know this must be hard to swallow,” he said quietly. “But Leo is indeed Layla’s son. You both gave birth at the same infirmary on the same day. Somewhere along the line, there was a switch.”

My heart dropped straight into my stomach.

“She’s Leo’s mother,” he continued. “Somehow, he was given to you. It is not clear where your own pup is right now, but the infirmary has been sued. I will make sure justice is served. I will find our child. I promise you.”

“No!” I shook my head violently in disbelief, stumbling backward. “No, Theodore. No!”

Just then, the news playing on the television caught my attention.

“Infant kidnapping,” the reporter announced. “Ink Stone Hospital has been accused of baby swapping. With one child currently missing, the hospital has been sued for five billion dollars. The nurses involved face jail time.”

Air rushed out of my lungs, and I basically stopped breathing as I collapsed to the floor in complete agony.

“No!” I screamed.

RHONDAOne month later...Malcolm and I had since reconciled. What was the point of continuing to brood over what had happened when I knew it wasn’t his fault and that he had been a victim himself?Yes, he had omitted that information from me, but I had forgiven him for it.We all make mistakes, and he had sincerely apologized. I would be a fool to let go of a man who would never intentionally hurt me and who loved me more than he loved himself.“You look so amazing, baby,” Malcolm told me for the umpteenth time today as we walked into the Evergreen Company tower.I was dressed in an emerald green evening gown, accessorized with gold jewelry, matching shoes, and a gold clutch. My lips spread into a wide smile.“Thank you, baby.”“And I am so proud of you,” he added.“Thank you, baby.” I blew him an invisible kiss, which made him blush hard.“Please don’t make me have a boner in public,” he rasped dramatically.“What if that’s exactly what I want?” I teased. He rested his palm just ab

RHONDAThe next time I woke up, I was lying in a hospital bed, surrounded by white walls and humming machines.Malcolm was the first person my eyes landed on.“What happened?” I whispered weakly.“You passed out due to complications from the pregnancy.”My eyes widened immediately as they dropped to my stomach.“My baby...”“They are fine,” he muttered softly, giving my hand a gentle squeeze. My gaze snapped back to him.“They?”“Yes. One twin was hidden. We are having a baby boy and a baby girl.” The joy shining in his eyes was palpable.Twins.My lips spread into a wide smile. But a wave of sadness swept through me at the thought of my missing baby girl.“I’ll go get the doctor now,” Malcolm told me before stepping out of the room.A few moments later, he returned with a male doctor who looked to be in his early forties. After checking my vitals and asking me a few questions, he established that I was perfectly fine and fit to be discharged within a few hours.“How do you feel?” Ma

RHONDA“Who are you talking to?” I groaned as I stormed over and snatched the phone from her hand.Looking at the screen, I saw the name “Joseph.”“Who is Joseph?” I flicked my gaze toward Sofia. “And who are you telling him is still here?”“My mom’s driver,” Sofia said as she snatched her phone back from me and ended the call. “What’s wrong with you? He’s already late, and he knows Mom sometimes goes by herself when he doesn’t come early, so he wanted to know if she was still around.”Oh, damn. I had been too paranoid to realize that not everyone was after me.“Sofia,” I breathed, “I am so sorry. I was just...” I slammed my palm against my forehead. “I am so sorry. I’ll leave now.”My cheeks burned with embarrassment as I turned around and rushed out of the room. What the hell was wrong with me? Layla, Sebastian, and everyone who wanted me dead had terrorized me into thinking everyone else wanted me dead too.As I approached the stairs, a commotion broke out downstairs. I froze imme

RHONDABy the time we finished preparing the meal, the kitchen was already filled with a sweet, mouthwatering aroma. I had also learned a few culinary hacks from Luna Rossa, even though she had threatened to hit me with a spatula whenever I mixed something up. I wasn’t even mad at all. If anything, I found it amusing. She was simply living up to the expectations of a strict Italian mother, and somehow, that made me like her even more.We gathered around the dining table to eat, and after our food had already been served, someone suddenly approached the table.“You guys wanted to start eating without me?” a lady with long, lush black hair said as she stepped into the dining area.Luna Rossa immediately turned toward her, narrowing her eyes. “You have been sleeping all day. You didn’t even assist with the cooking. Beautiful Rhonda here did. Vai, vai, viziata! You are not eating.”“Mama,” the lady said, blinking repeatedly as she made a cute face. She pranced toward Luna Rossa and leaned

RHONDA“Wife?” I raised my brow in confusion as I stared between Amos and his mother.“Mama,” Amos said, shooting her a warning look. What had they been discussing that made her call me his wife at first sight?“Oh,” she said, waving her hand in the air as if it was nothing. “I am just joking. He talks about you and the project you are working on together a lot. That is why I called you his wife, since he would not shut up about you. He is so invested in this project. I have never seen him so enthusiastic about coding work like this before.”I blinked, still a little stunned by her words. Amos talked about me that much? I had known he cared about the project, and I knew he had been helpful, but hearing it from his mother made it sound different. It made it sound as though I had somehow become a regular topic in their home, and I was not sure what to do with that information. She inched closer to me and opened her arms wide for a hug.“I am Luna Rossa. Nice to finally meet you, Rhonda.

  • Revenge, Best Served in Codes   235| Enemy of My Enemy.

MALCOLMIvy’s place was first.I banged desperately on the door, but there was no response. Frustration burned raw in my blood. I did not know if Rhonda was safe or not. I needed something, anything, to hint that she was safe.If she needed space, then I would respect that, but right now, I had no clue what was happening. I did not know if she had left willingly or if something worse had happened. That uncertainty was driving me insane. After a few more minutes of knocking without any response, I finally called Ivy’s number. She picked up on the second ring.“Alpha Malcolm. What a surprise to see your call,” Ivy muttered from the other end of the line when she answered.I did not even pretend to be interested in exchanging pleasantries.“Where is Rhonda?” I groaned.“She’s your mate. She stays in your pack. So I should be asking you that,” she said, sounding surprised. “Alpha Malcolm, is there anything going on?”“So you don’t know anything?” I asked.“Know what? Now I am getting worr
