LOGINI groaned, rolling over onto my side, the harsh glare of sunlight hit me immediately.
I squinted, turning away sharply.
“Jesus Christ…”
Why the hell was my curtain drawn?
Of course… My mother is home.
I stared at the bedside clock. It read— 10:50
I got up from bed, deciding to brush my teeth and take a bath instead.
It was a Saturday so there was no school, and I was pretty sure I heard mum say they would be out for the day.
A wide grin spread on my face.
Lucky me.
A day of peace and quiet would help me navigate my thoughts clearly.
I threw on a pair of joggers and top, then I began making my way downstairs.
I beelined for the kitchen, heading straight to the pot— and as expected, there was food.
“God bless you, mum.” I murmured, taking a plate and dishing my food.
“I— feel good, pa-ra-ra-ra.” I danced while singing happily.
I opened the second pot, gaze landing on sauced turkey.
My mouth watered instantly.
“Jesus, Mom,” I murmured, dipping my hand into the pot, to grab a piece of turkey.
“I guess Chicago taught you a lot huh..”
I bit into the turkey, marveling at its exquisite taste.
“Ohh Lord,” I moaned loudly, eyes closing in ecstasy.
After a few seconds of basking in the taste of the meat, I opened my eyes and began humming again.
My gaze landed on the sticky note on the refrigerator.
I took another bite from the meat and pulled off the note, a small smile graced my lips as I noticed mum's handwriting.
(You shouldn't sleep in the dark, Rosie)
I rolled my eyes, walking towards the opened pot—I dipped my fingers in, taking another turkey.
(I made your favorite too, but Henry made the turkey sauce.)
Wow… I'm impressed.
(I'm sure you'll love it)
I sure do… I grinned, taking another bite.
(P.S Henry isn't feeling too well, so he stayed back.)
My mouth slacked.
(Be nice to him Rosie, love you.)
Suddenly the food tasted like shit in my mouth.
He was at home.
In this house…
With me—
We were both alone… in this house.
Shit.
“Good morning Rosie,” a deep gruff voice said from behind me.
Fuck.
I winced, closing my eyes briefly.
I forcefully swallowed the meat and turned around.
God… he really was hot.
His dark-grey hair was messy, probably from sleeping or… something I had no business imagining.
He stood in a relaxed pose on the door frame, clad in a black singlet and slacks.
My mouth dried and watered at the same time as my gaze trailed his thick arms crossed over his chest with a teasing look in his eyes and a lazy smile on his lips.
“Good morning Professor Henry,” I murmured, with a sheepish smile.
He stood up straight, walking towards me.
Then he stopped.
I craned my neck, staring up at his tall frame.
“Why do you keep calling me professor?” He asked., cocking his head to the side.
I shrugged nervously. “It just… stuck I guess.”
He nodded, then stared at my fingers gripping the meat like it was my lifeline.
“I see you're enjoying my food.” he said.
“Yeah… it's really good.” I replied quietly.
“Hmm… so good that you'd dip your hands straight into the pot?”
I stared at the floor, as shame wrapped over me.
“I didn't think anyone was around though, I'm sorry.”
He chuckled lightly.
“I actually didn't get the time to taste it yesterday, how does it taste?” He asked.
“Exquisite…” I drawled.
“Let me see…” he said, voice low.
“Huh—”
His fingers wrapped around mine suddenly, and my gaze snapped to him so fast I could have sworn I heard a crack.
He stepped closer—
So close that I couldn't smell his musky male scent.
I should have moved.
I didn't.
My breath caught in my throat as he brought the hand holding the meat close to his mouth.
Then—
His lips wrapped around it, biting into the tender meat.
My lips parted slightly, eyes wide in shock as I stared at him chewing the meat slowly.
He moaned softly.
And almost on cue, desire pooled low in my belly, causing a blush to flare up on my face.
Oh good Lord… I was so beyond fucked.
“Hmm… I should've left it on heat for a few more minutes.” He murmured, “What do you think, Rosie?”
His gaze trailed to mine and I swiftly turned around, facing away from him.
What do you think?
Was he really asking me that?
When he just had his mouth on the same meat I had mine on.
“I- I think it's good.” I replied quietly.
“Are you alright, Rosie?”
Fucking idiot.
“Can you…” I drawled. “Let go please.”
He pulled away immediately.
“I'm sorry,” he rushed out. “Did I make you uncomfortable in any way?”
“No— I mean…”
“Tell me what's the matter, Rosie?” He asked, stepping closer.
I scoffed lightly.
What's the matter?
The matter was that I've always thought about him fucking me in ten different ways.
And now that he was so close…
My body was begging for him, but my mind, my morals, my values.
They were all saying no.
He's engaged to your mum Rosie.
He'll be your stepfather soon.
For fuck's sake, Rosie. He's 25 years older than you.
Thinking about him like this was wrong in every way.
And yet—
It didn't stop my body, my whole being, from wanting him.
“I guess I just feel embarrassed about you walking in on me like that.” I muttered.
“I see… you shouldn't worry about that though.” He winked. “We've all been there.”
I smiled softly. “You can have this one.”
“There's more in the pot, I can take one.”
I rolled my eyes.
Of course he didn't think of that before putting his sexy mouth on mine did he?
“I insist…” I pressed, putting the meat on another plate. “I suddenly don't feel hungry anymore.”
He stared at me in puzzlement, then exhaled heavily.
“Alright then… I'll take my time enjoying this.” he replied, smiling.
And my mind twisted his innocent words in the most immoral way possible.
I turned around, when—
“Oh and Rosie.” He called, I turned around staring at him in question.
“My schedule is clear for today, so we can work on any subject of your choice.”
“Umm… I thought mum said you were sick…”
He smiled sheepishly. “I… might have lied about that. Your mum's friends are a bit crazy, no offense.”
I pursed my lips, trying to hold back the smile. “None taken.”
“So… are you up for it?”
“Sure.” I replied, smiling.
“Alright then, meet me in the living room, 1pm sharp, okay.”
I nodded, walking out of the kitchen.
My body tingled in anticipation, as my mind conjured up different scenarios that had nothing to do with studying.
Silence. Her brows furrowed in puzzlement.“What?”My shoulders fell, as exhaustion washed over me.A humorless chuckle left my lips. Then finally—I exhaled heavily.“Scratch that, I think I've always liked him. For years now... I think the closeness just made everything worse.” I croaked.“Oh my God.” She gasped, covering her mouth with her palm.I sniffled, wiping at a tear that rolled down my face.“At least the only person that'll scrunch their face at you would be your mum and a few others. As for mine—”I scoffed.“I don't even want to think about it.”We fell into a longer silence this time.Tense.Awkward.“What are you going to do?” Angelica asked, breaking into the quiet.I shrugged carelessly.“I want to come clean about it.”“And him?”I opened my mouth, then clamped it shut.“I see…” Angelica mused. We both went quiet again. This time, I tapped my fingers against my skirt as my gaze stayed on Elana.Angelica's gaze stayed on Elana's, her eyes filled with mirth.Suddenly—
Louisa gasped dramatically.“Tu as tout à fait raison, Denise.” (You're absolutely right, Denise.)Louisa turned to Angelica and began talking to her.Well, more like scolding.Mum turned to me with a heavy exhale.“Okay, Rosie—”“She's a fucking bitch, Mum.” “I swear to God, Rosie—”“I know Mum.” I groaned. “You don't always have to threaten me to pass a message.”“God help me the day I decide not to do so, only for you to go and wreak havoc.”I pursed my lips.“I'll be on my best behavior.” I muttered dryly.“Thank you.”She turned back to Louisa and Angelica.I leaned towards her.“It's unfair that I'm not allowed to bitch back though.”“Rosie.”I straightened, rolling my eyes.“Fine, fine.”Louisa turned back to us with a smile, and somehow—Angelica now had a smile too.I mean, we could pretty much tell it was fake but anyway…The point was that she was actively trying.“Très bien, alors pourquoi ne pas vous laisser toutes les deux faire connaissance?”(Alright then, how about
“Come on, Rosie!” Mum's voice echoed downstairs.“Coming!” I yelled back.I spritzed perfume on my body then stared at myself in the full length mirror.I tied my hair into a ponytail, then gave myself the best no makeup look.I'd decided on a white off shoulder floral top, paired with a light pink satin skirt and floral white heels.Gorgeous.My cheeks heated up as Henry's voice floated into my mind.My gaze lingered on my reflection for a few seconds. Then I looked away.“Snap out of it, Rosie.”Last night wasn't something I wanted to think about right now.I grabbed my brown Louis Vuitton bag then headed downstairs.Mum stood at the foot of the stairs with an annoyed expression on her face.“Seriously?”“I'm sorry…” I drawled, with a large grin. She shook her head then headed for the door.Henry walked towards us.Hair messy, cheeks slightly flush.“Is he coming with us?”“Of course not, dearie.” Mum said with a small smile.“Today is just for me and you.”Thank goodness.A bright
His jaw clenched tightly, his fingers balled into fists by his sides.“Cancel it.”A bitter scoff left my lips.“News flash, Henry. I wasn't asking for your opinion.”“Then I'm coming with you—”“Like hell you will! Do you even hear how stupid that sounds?”“Then cancel it, Rosie.”“Fuck this, I'm out of here.” I muttered, trying to brush past him.He blocked me, using his body to keep me locked in place.“Get out of my way, Henry.”“No.”We both glared at each other.Expressions hard.Chests heaving. And neither of us looked ready to give in.Then—Henry caved. His lips came slamming down on mine.Hungry.Frenzied.My arms wound around his neck as I pulled him closer, deepening the kiss.He palmed my ass in his hands, lifting me up as my legs wrapped around his body.My fingers tangled into his hair. Then trailed lower, brushing over his arms before creeping underneath his shirt, feeling warm skin.He trembled against my touch while his hands roamed over my skin blindly. He broke the
Andrew froze. His eyes widened in surprise.“Goodnight.” I whispered, brushing past him.I strolled past a fuming Henry, heading into the house. The door slammed shut behind me, then footsteps followed.“What the hell was that?” I ignored him, making my way upstairs.“I'm talking to you, Rosie.”My fingers curled around the doorknob.“Answer me!”Henry's fingers wrapped around my arm, slamming me against my door as his body pressed flush against mine. His breath came out in heavy pants, his eyes locked on mine.Slowly, he leaned forward.I turned my head away, letting his lips land on my cheek. He eased back slightly.“Why are you doing this to me?”I craned my head back to him.“Really? We're playing the victim card now, huh?”He pursed his lips.“I didn't peg you to be that kind of a person, Henry.”“You did that to make me jealous, didn't you?”I rolled my eyes.“Oh, please, get over yourself, Henry.”“His fucking jacket? As if that wasn't enough, you decided to kiss him.”“You're
“Go! Wade!” Lena and I screamed in unison.Only for Wade to get slammed to the floor the next second.I scrunched my face in mock-pain.“Nine out of ten say, that definitely hurt.” I said, stifling back my laughter.“I swear to God, Rosie. I will elbow you if you fucking laugh.” Lena gritted.Andrew took his seat and passed our drinks to us.“What did I miss?” He asked.“Wade had a pretty nasty fall—”“You didn't laugh did you?”“Of course not, why would I do that?” I screeched.“Cause you're Rosie Alphonse. When have you ever cared about some guy's feelings?”Hmmm…“You're quite right about that.”The game continued on for a few minutes before both teams went on a break.“Here man.” Andrew said, handing a bottle of water to Wade.Wade gulped it down.“Hey…” Lena and I waved as soon as he took a seat on the bench.“I'm really glad you guys came, my parents couldn't make it.” Wade said with a sincere smile.“We wouldn't have missed it for the world.” I said.Lena nudged me.“We have a
The door closed softly, leaving me and my consequences alone.“I'm so sorry, mum. I truly didn't see your calls—”“Twenty-three missed calls, Rosie.” Mum bit out. “Twenty-three.”My shoulders sagged tiredly.“I slept as soon as I got home—”“I told you to call me once you get home, and the next thi
“Let me see…” Henry murmured, shifting closer.I raised my head higher, giving him better access. His brows knitted tightly, lips pursed in concentration. He began his not-so-gentle ministrations.“Ouch.” I whined, pulling away subtly.“Stay still.” Henry grunted.Fucking asshole. He wasn't raising
I turned my attention toward them fully.“Of course, Jess. Who else?” Lyra shot back, slamming the locker. “What are you planning to do?”I squinted at the person beside her.Jessica I think.Introverted in all sense, how she ended up running around with Lyra was still a mystery to me.I guess eve
The school bell rang signaling the end of class.I gathered my books and stuffed them into my bag. I zipped it up before slinging the bag onto my shoulder.I adjusted my uniform collar as I made my way out of the classroom.“Aha!” Lena exclaimed, yanking my collar down.I screeched, placing it back
