LOGINKehlani's POV
“Oh, here we go again.” Elliot muttered. “The fucking police.”
A policeman stepped out while the car drove towards the house party. It becomes a mess as people fly from windows and such. Busted.
“We're responding to the nearby complaint from a neighbor. You kids part of the party?”
His eyes narrowed at the three of us and I bowed my head, wiping the smeared tears on my cheeks.
Trevor rolled his eyes, with his hands in pocket. “Officer, we were just walking by.”
“At 11?”
“Because we have free will.” Elliot shrugged, casting a challenging look at the man.
He looks at us keenly, knowing fully well Elliot had said it all, he sighed. “And you. You good?”
Trevor's hands dropped over my shoulders. “She's very fine. We'll be leaving now.”
The patrol car glide down and some people from the party were seen inside. We were dismissed and the officer leaves with his team. Trevor immediately grabs my hands gesturing we leave that spot…I don't care. I just wanted to go home after what I heard. Everything was making my head spiral.
“I'll drop you off.” Trevor insisted while we stopped at his car. His squad seemed to be inside, waiting. How on earth did the cops not find them?
“Don't hold her hands like you're the knight.”
Elliot mocked, he trailed behind, laughing.
“And you think you are?” Trevor snorts, drumming his shoes against the ground like he was ever ready for a war with Elliot.
“I'm no savior.” Elliot laughed, looking in my eye like he enjoyed every bit of manipulating me. “Who knows if she's walking from pan to fire? We know you also want to use her. Ain't that right?”
My lips parted and I closed my mouth.
“You already used her. So why should it matter to you if I intend on doing the same to her? Oh, do you want her back?” Trevor tilts his head.
“Eww.” Elliot laughed. Suddenly, his squad appears from nowhere, backing him. “I'm not going to fight over a worthless girl like her with you.”
From both side of Trevor's car, the door opened and his friends also stepped down, representing at his back. Now this looked more tough.
“Ooooh!” Elliot clapped. “What do we have here? You say, we all fight ourselves.”
“Let's leave already. Please.” My voice cracks as I pulled Trevor's hands. I was getting scared and If Elliot could say ‘Eww.’ That's a huge downgrade to me which means he never loved me and played with my feelings.
“No. Not yet.” He whispered, then says to Elliot. “You always want to fight with your team. Let's go man to man.”
“Please let's just go home.” I cried out and Elliot sneered.
“Awwn. She's tearing up already. poor thing. How about this? After class tomorrow?”
“I don't plan fight battles. I do it when I'm triggered. Enough being childish.” Trevor swats at them before he led me to the front seat of the car. His friends did the same and he starts the engine, leaving Elliot behind. Throughout the ride, I'm quiet, except for the fact that I gave him direction to my house.
The car finally stops upon arrival.
“Thank you.” I say without looking at his face. Before I stepped down, he stopped me gripping my hands, leaned over and whispered.
“Don't forget about my deal. Think about it tonight.”
I gulped, nodding. “Yeah, whatever.”
After closing the door, the car sped off in an instance. I received a text message from olive: Hey, where did you go? I looked for you since the cops came. I pushed the door opened and went upstairs. I yawned and flopped on my bed, I wasn't just physically tired. I'm emotionally down, weak and naive. I replied her message back: I'm fine. Just at home. Goodnight.
Placing the phone away, I fold my legs together, my chin pressed on both knees. For a moment I think about what Elliot says that Trevor will use me too.
“Aargh!” I stood on my feet. “If Trevor wanted to do so, he won't propose a deal right? Especially when he hates Elliot.” I say to myself. “Kehlani, why don't you just say yes. Maybe you'll get a chance to revenge. After all, Trevor can't such because it's a fake relationship with a particular aim. Think about that scholarship girl.”
I lay back on my chest. Tomorrow, I'll finally decide. I closed my eyes as the urge for sleep crept in.
Next morning, I rolled out of bed and smiled sadly. I've finally made up my mind. I went downstairs and Dad was preparing breakfast before he would go to the pastry shop later. He served me pancakes juice. I ate till satisfied and used the moment to fry chips. Packaged it and placed in my bag. After going up to brush and bath and put on my clothes, I'm surprised to see olive.
“Hey.” I greeted first.
“Hey, last night. I swear, I searched for you. I shouldn't have left you then.” She groaned.
I smile. “It's fine. Let's just go to school.” She missed the confession part of the truth or dare and the aftermath. Except she hears the rumour.
We're finally in school and after the second lesson, at the hallway, I held a deep breath. Yes, I made up my choice and my answer to Trevor would be no. I want to chose myself and live a free life. Who knows the rumors and events that would come up with me and trevor being in a relationship. I wanted peace of mind and happiness.
Some guy comes to talk to Olive as we walked together through the hallway then my eyes saw it. Elliot and Maddie. Every other thing seemed to pause as I watched the sexual tension between them. My chest heaves and I feel hot. That particular pain was back again. They were stuck together like glue as both neck tilt enjoying their hot kiss. How could this actually happen?
My ex boyfriend suddenly doesn't want me and starts hooking with another girl who happens to be my ex friend and I can't do anything about it? I'm just gonna watch them happy while I'm left to suffer?
No. No. It can't be.. he can't get away with it easily. He can't sleep happily at night while I lament. My chin trembles as he slowly detaches from the kiss, fingers gripping her ass and his eyes locked on mine. A badass smirk on his lips.
Fuck you, Elliot. I felt a pang of jealousy, hatred, annoyance and pain within as I ran away leaving Olive and her friend behind.
I was supposed to choose my peace today but I guess there's a bloody turn of events. I don't know where to find him but I just kept on going. My head is spinning and I feel it'll explode any moment. I kept on going, holding my forehead and bumping into people till I reached the restroom. The smell of soap and sweat hit me till I collided into someone's body….my hands on his hard chest.
Wait…. His?
I gasped, realizing I ran into the boys locker room. And worst, I'm ontop of Trevor. The person I was thinking of. His abs flexed my touch and his hair is dripping wet from his shower.
“What on earth?”
“I'm ready.” I rushed.
“Ready for what?”
“To start. The plan. Everything. I'm ready to be your fake girlfriend.”
Kehlani “Are you…are you serious right now?” Jade was completely stunned. “I don't understand.”“Come on. Don't you remember what we talked about?” Trevor raised his brow. “When you said I could get someone to keep me company just for a while.”She scoffed. “Well, I wasn't serious about it. You didn't even tell me last session. I thought I could help you. I'm your therapist. Whatever you're saying, I'm here for you.” Her voice was laden with care as she placed a hand on his shoulder. “Um, I'm just going to go back in.” I said and left for the kitchen immediately. I don't think I should interfere. I stayed in the kitchen all through till I was done preparing the chicken broth. While it was ready, I served it in a bowl with a spoon and walked back to the dining room, carefully placing the bowl on the table. The steam curled in the air. “Thank you.” Trevor smiled warmly into my eyes. “You're welcome.” I returned the smile. Jade looked down on the bowl as if she was inspecting it. “
Kehlani “What would you like to eat?” I asked him, tapping my fingers on the table. He shrugged lazily. “I don't know.”I thought for a while. “Well, would you like chicken noodle soup?”He scrunched his face and shrugged.“Vegetable soup?”The same expression. I rested my hands on my hips and stared up the ceiling. “Okay. I could make rice porridge.” I laughed. His gaze lingered on me through half lidded eyes and hummed. “Well, maybe. I don't know.” He replied, unsure. I sighed. “You seem to be a patient that would stress alot.”“Don't blame me. Blame it on my taste bud.” he swallowed and his face scrunched up, the sore throat would have been so painful. Oh, damn. I feel so sorry for him. I was about to say something before his therapist, jade interrupted me. “I wouldn't make rice porridge if I were you.” We both turned. She was coming downstairs and now she was in a pair of leggings and an oversized sweater. So, that was what she wore when she came in. She stopped by the table
KehlaniShe clutched her chest. “Oh my gosh.”I swallowed and held the medicine bag tight so it wouldn't let go of it. I don't understand what's going on and why there's a woman in here. Why is she halfnaked? Who's she? My fingers tingled and my brain is still trying to process what I'm seeing. “Who are you?!” We both blurted together, then the hallway fell silent. She's a blonde lady. I looked at her face, then her pointed nose and down to her body. Skin like milk. So, Trevor has a nice taste for ladies? And he lied to me he's not seeing anyone. By the way, did he do this on purpose? He knew I was coming and now I'm meeting a lady in a bra and panties. What the hell is going on?I cleared my throat. “Um, hi. I'm just here to see Trevor.”She dropped her hands from her chest revealing her full breasts. “So, who are you?”“I'm his….” I paused. Should I say fake girlfriend or just girlfriend? “I'm a friend.”She flipped her hair. “Well, Trevor isn't himself right now. He doesn't need
Kehlani I stepped into campus when the afternoon was bright and windy. Something caught my attention from the massive digital screen that showcased him. I blinked just to ensure I wasn't seeing things and it was true. Trevor was on the screen. So, he's gotten this popular? How come I've never heard about him? The words flashed across the screen : Manhattan blizzards best player. A small crowd had gathered beneath it, watching. Some girls were talking about how handsome he was. I smiled while watching before walking away. Adjusted my hand bag and found my way to the Art Section. Later, I found myself in the usual lecture hall. The room buzzed and I'm surprised to see Andy in school. He came. He sat beside me and I smiled. “Hey, Kehlani. How are you?” He took the seat next to me. “Hi, Andy. I'm cool. What's up? You came to school today.” I tugged my hair behind my ear. “Yeah. Just decided not to skip today.”“Mhm. Wonderful.” I nodded. “Hope everything is going well for you? And
Kehlani A grin plastered on his lips. “Hey.” He said to me, “Hi.” It quickly came out of my mouth. “Hey, Casper.” The guys walked towards Trevor and they shook hands. I saw his name on the back of the shirt. Brooks, 8. He must be the Noah Trevor talked about. They both said something before he trailed off. Trevor then stared at me, keenly. “What?” I smiled. Suddenly, the quiet locker room began filling with voices and laughter. Bags but the floor and guys cheered. Someone shouted. “Yo, Casper!”Another player looked at me. “Oh, who do we have here?”It came to my senses that I was the only woman in their midst while some guys started to pull their hoodies, and another reached for his jersey. Heat rushed through my cheeks and I stared at Trevor shyly. “Uhh, I think I should go.” “Yeah.” He gently reached for my hands. “Come on.”I looked down at our joined hands for a second before following him. His teammates watched us leave and one yelled. “So, that's your girlfriend.”“Mind
Kehlani The moment the doors slid open, cold air greeted me. Not exactly freezing but the air was crisp and everything smelled fresh and clean. The floors were polished and they gleamed beneath the bright lights.“Whoa.” I stared at the enormous photographs that lined the wall of players celebrating the championship with historic goals and I whispered. “This is amazing. I'm glad my project is about hockey.”“You've never seen inside a professional arena before?” I laughed. “Not like the one we had in high school.”“Yeah. That one sucks.” We continued walking down and some guys passed us, staring at me somehow. They don't pass without greeting him. He seemed to be quite popular. I opened my notepad and typed: he's free with everyone, everyone knows him and he treats the staff member cool. “Trevor. Do you think I'm supposed to be here? I don't see any girl around here.”He smiled. “I may be violating the rule but who cares?” He grabbed my arms. “Hold on to me tight.” He smirked.I s
Kehlani “Ohhh. I would think about it.” Something about what he said was unsettling. Just imagine me meeting up with a teacher. What it we're seen. I think I'd rather go with Mrs Kathy Jensen. She was ready for me. I opened the door to leave and he stopped me again. “I should get your number. Don
Kehlani My day just got a lot worse. I couldn't even concentrate in class. I love Trevor too much that I still wanted to talk to him. Still wanted him to give us a chance to date again. But he doesn't want that. I think he's scared, so maybe, maybe I should just do as he says. It's time to…..move
Kehlani I got back home. I didn't want to leave but I did anyway, because I couldn't force things. Definitely, Elliot must have tried to call me. But I blocked him. I got home and sat on the chair by the porch. I tried the breathing technique to calm myself down but it was working, the door opened
Kehlani For a while, everything paused. I just stared at the message that popped up.(Congratulations, Kehlani Cole. You won the Golden lensArt scholarship program…..)The words blurred and I opened it with shaking hands.(We are pleased to inform you, full tuition coverage, mentorship with top in
