Aaron Cole

“Brother, welcome back to Ashton City. It’s been far too long.”

Derick’s voice carried a thin layer of warmth as he stood at the edge of the private airstrip, arms open in greeting.

Aaron Cole walked down the steps of his sleek private jet, his tall, powerfully built frame commanding attention...with broad shoulders strained against his tailored black coat, and an unmistakable aura of raw masculinity and authority radiated from him.

He was away for five years...building a tech empire and perfecting his reputation as one of the country’s most formidable lawyers...had only intensified the presence of the eldest Cole brother.

Aaron’s cold blue eyes narrowed the instant he noticed the woman draped possessively on Derick’s arm...Lilly Ford, a curvaceous red head in a revealing red dress, smiling like she belonged there.

She couldn't even hide the shame in her eyes when she nearly drooled over Aaron.

He stared at her as if she were something filthy that had crawled onto his shoe. His gaze then shifted to his younger brother, cold and unblinking.

“Why are you welcoming me with a mistress instead of your wife?” Aaron demanded, his deep voice low and edged with steel. “Where is Laura?”

Derick’s smile faltered for a split second before arrogance took over. He snarled, tightening his grip on Lilly. “Laura? That pathetic woman is rotting in jail for trying to poison me. We divorced years ago. She’s no longer my concern....or yours.”

Aaron’s jaw clenched. Without hesitation, his hand cracked across Derick’s face in a hard, resounding slap that echoed across the tarmac.

Derick staggered back, clutching his stinging cheek, shock flashing in his eyes.

“You embarrassment,” Aaron growled, disgust dripping from every word. “Laura would never hurt a fly. She’s fragile, confined to a wheelchair. What possible harm could she cause? I know you, Derick. This reeks of your cruelty. I knew you never deserved her.”

“How dare he?“ Aaron thought, anger boiling beneath his controlled exterior. “I stayed away too long. I should have checked on her. Laura was always kind, brilliant...far too good for my worthless brother.“

Derick rubbed his cheek, trying to regain his composure. “Aaron, listen. She changed after her family died. She became unstable. I had evidence.....”

“Enough with your lies,” Aaron cut him off sharply, refusing to entertain another word. “I’ve already confirmed it. You’ve been mistreating her....My own sister-in-law....for years. Locking her away, drugging her, stripping her of everything. You disgust me.”

Derick’s face paled as he registered the seriousness in Aaron’s tone. He stepped closer, voice turning pleading. “Aaron, you don’t understand the full story. She was dangerous. I feared for my life....”

“Where is she being held?” Aaron interrupted again, his tone leaving no room for argument.

After several minutes of tense interrogation, Derick finally muttered the name of the prison, his shoulders slumping in reluctant defeat.

Aaron gave him one last cold look before turning on his heel. “Stay out of my way, Derick. If I find out you’ve hurt her any more than you already have, you’ll regret the day you were born.”

As Aaron’s car disappeared into the night, Derick stood frozen on the tarmac, his face twisting with raw fury. Lilly reached for his arm, but he violently shrugged her off.

“That meddling bastard,“ Derick fumed internally, rage boiling in his veins. “He thinks he can swoop in after five years and play hero? No. I won’t let him ruin everything I’ve built on her ruins.“

He yanked out his phone with shaking fingers and dialed a number. “It’s me. Handle it tonight. Blow up Laura’s cell block. Make it look like an accident. Make sure she doesn’t survive.”

A dark, satisfied smirk slowly spread across Derick’s face as he ended the call.

“Let’s see if you manage to save that useless cripple now, Aaron,” he muttered to himself, eyes gleaming with malicious triumph. “She’ll be nothing but ashes.”

“How dare he slap me because of her?”

Derick’s cheek still burned from Aaron’s slap as he paced inside his luxury car with Lilly sitting silently beside him playing the perfect little comforter.

The sting was nothing compared to the anger raging in his chest. His older brother was so tall, built like a damn Greek god, always acting superior....had returned and immediately started questioning everything.

“Aaron thinks he’s so much better than me,“ Derick thought bitterly, clenching his fists. “Always has. But I’m the one who took everything from Laura. The company, the money, the power. And now he wants to play savior?“

He glanced at Lilly, who was wisely keeping quiet. “Drive faster,” he snapped at the chauffeur.

The image of Aaron’s cold stare and that humiliating slap replayed in his mind.

Derick had tried to explain, had tried to paint Laura as the villain, but his brother hadn’t believed a single word.

“He knows too much already. If Aaron finds Laura and hears her side… everything could crumble.“

Derick’s jaw tightened as fresh anger surged through him.

He refused to let his brother undo years of careful planning. Laura was supposed to stay broken and forgotten in that prison. She was supposed to die slowly from the pills, not be rescued.

Derick was determined to silence Laura and keep her under his control.

He pulled out his phone again, his smirk returning as he replayed the call he had just made.

“Make sure it’s done cleanly,” he had ordered. “No survivors in that block. Burn it down.”

Derick leaned back against the leather seat, a cold chuckle escaping his lips.

“Let’s see how your precious rescue mission goes when there’s nothing left to save,” he whispered to the empty night. “That useless cripple belongs in the ground, not in your arms, Aaron.”

  • Steal My Heart, Mr Cole    Chapter 51

Aaron Cole*It’s just sex.*Her words hit me like a punch to the gut.I kept my face calm, my arms still wrapped around her, but inside, something twisted painfully. I had just laid myself bare... told her I wanted more, that I hoped she would love me back....and she had thrown it back at me like it meant nothing.*But to her it's just sex. Or is there something she's afraid of that I keep missing?*I held her tighter, inhaled her sweet perfume that always drove me crazy, my hand still stroking her hair, but my jaw was clenched so hard it ached. My chest felt heavy. This wasn’t how I imagined this moment. I had waited years for her. Watched her from the shadows while my brother destroyed her. Planned everything so I could have her. And now, when she was finally in my arms, she was still keeping me at a distance. And there were only a few more months remaining till the contract expires and she'd be gone from my arms forever.*She’s scared,* I told myself. *Derick broke her. She doesn

  • Steal My Heart, Mr Cole    Chapter 50

Laura SterlingAaron held me close in the gazebo, his arms wrapped around me like he wasn’t ready to let go yet. My body was still buzzing from the orgasm, my legs weak and trembling even more than usual. I could feel his heart beating fast against my cheek, his breathing a little uneven. He kissed the top of my head softly, his hand rubbing slow circles on my back.“You okay?” he asked, his voice low and rough.I nodded against his chest, my fingers still clutching his shirt. “Yeah. That was… intense.”He chuckled softly, the sound vibrating through his chest. “Good intense?”“Very good,” I admitted, my voice quiet. We stayed like that for a while, just breathing together. The night air was cool on my skin, but his body heat kept me warm. His hand moved lower, resting on my hip, thumb stroking the skin there in lazy circles. It wasn’t rushed. It felt like he was giving me time to come down. After a few minutes, he pulled back just enough to look at me. His eyes were dark, still hungr

Laura Sterling“You’re not fragile,” Aaron said again, his voice low as he pulled me closer on the garden bench. His hand was still on my waist, warm through the thin fabric of my dress. “You’re fighting every single day. That’s not weakness.”I looked up at him, my heart pounding so hard it felt like it was trying to escape my chest. The lanterns around us cast soft light on his face, highlighting the sharp line of his jaw and the intensity in his eyes. He was so close. Too close. I could smell his cologne, feel the heat of his body, and it was making my head spin in a way I couldn’t control.“I still don’t know if I can trust this,” I whispered, my voice barely audible. My hands were on his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart under my palms. “Every time I let myself get close, I remember who you are. Who your brother is. What this all started as.”Aaron’s grip on my waist tightened just a fraction. Not painful. Possessive. His other hand came up to cup my cheek, his thumb br

  • Steal My Heart, Mr Cole    Chapter 48

Laura SterlingThe rest of the day passed in a blur of files and quiet focus., I was trying my best not to think about him.I managed to finish reviewing two full reports and even sent a few notes to Sarah about potential adjustments in the European markets. My mind kept drifting back to the kiss in the kitchen, to Aaron’s words, to the way his hand had felt on my back. I pushed those thoughts away each time, but they kept returning, stubborn and persistent.By 5:30 PM, my eyes were burning from the screen. I closed the laptop and rubbed my temples. My body was exhausted from the emotional rollercoaster of the day from everything I had encountered. Then the door opened slightly.Aaron stepped in, jacket off, sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He looked tired but focused.“Ready to go home?” he asked calmly, with a small smile on his lips.I nodded. “Yes. I’m done for today.”He walked over and helped me into the wheelchair without a word. His hands were careful, almost gentle. As he pus

  • Steal My Heart, Mr Cole    Chapter 47

Laura SterlingThe afternoon dragged on slower than I expected.I tried to focus on the files, but Amelia’s words kept slipping back into my thoughts like poison. I pushed them away each time, forcing myself to read line after line, making notes with a pen that felt heavier than it should. My stomach growled loudly around 1 PM. I hadn’t eaten anything since breakfast, and the stress had drained me more than I wanted to admit. The door opened without a knock.Aaron walked in carrying a tray with two covered plates and two glasses of water. He looked calm, but his eyes scanned me carefully as he set the tray on the small meeting table in the corner of my office.“You haven’t eaten,” he said simply. It wasn’t a question.I leaned back in my wheelchair, watching him. “I was working.”He pulled out a chair for himself and sat down, uncovering the plates. Grilled chicken, vegetables, rice ... simple but smelled incredible.“Eat with me,” he said. His tone left little room for argument.I

  • Steal My Heart, Mr Cole    Chapter 46

Laura SterlingAaron stayed with me for almost twenty minutes after my panic attack. He didn’t say much more about Amelia, but he kept one hand on my back, rubbing slow circles until my breathing finally evened out. When I finally sat up straight again, he crouched in front of my wheelchair, studying my face.“You sure you’re okay to stay?” he asked.I nodded, wiping the last traces of tears from my cheeks. “I didn’t come here to hide in your arms all day. I came to work.”He gave a small nod, but I could see the worry in his eyes. He stood up and adjusted his suit jacket.“I’ll be next door if you need me. Door’s open.”As soon as he left, I tried to throw myself into the files. For the next hour, I managed to review market reports and even made a few notes. It felt good — normal, almost. Like I was slowly getting pieces of myself back. Then my office door opened again.Amelia stepped inside, this time carrying a small box of pastries and wearing an innocent smile.“I brought peace
