Ivy’s POV

I’m finished with all of this. I need a break, I need to be with a friend and I want to talk to Nicole. She knows the truth now and I want to hear what she thinks about everything.

Ryder and I leave the stage and I look for Nicole in the crowd.

“There she is,” Ryder says pointing toward the door.

I rush to her. There’s a look on her face that concerns me, is she disappointed in me? I hope not.

“Nicole, can we talk?” I ask.

“Okay but I need to get out of here. This hall is making me s

Theo’s POV I watch Ivy run away and I sink to the ground. I let my body calm. It’s too much to fight. How will I ever survive this? The time with Noah was good. He’s a special boy. I feel as if I’ve known him. I’m so attracted to him. I can’t imagine he will go back to Ice Moon and I won’t see him again. Ivy gone. Noah gone.I can’t do this. I need a drink, a lot of drinks. I head to the bar on the other side of town.***I sit at the bar alone and get serious about getting completely drunk. I want to forget this night; my life — everything! How has my life gone so wrong? Is this it for me now?“Theo? Is that you?”I look up and I see my childhood friend, Shelby. We were best friends in school. But he moved to another city and became a successful race car driver, quite famous now.“Shelby! What are you doing here?” I give him a hug and he sits down next to me.“My mum is sick, but getting better. Came to check on her.” He looks me over. “Are you alright, Theo? The Alpha’s looking a

Ivy’s POV I sit next to Dawson. “Grandfather, do you see now how dangerous Dylan is?”“It makes me very sad, but it can’t be denied. He’s lost his way since you returned to Ice Moon,” He says. “I’m not sure what we will do. I still love him very much.”“I know. We’ll talk with him and see if he can be guided to better thinking.” I do hope that can happen though I think Dylan may be too far now to be saved.“Yes we’ll see.” Dawson takes my hand and holds it. “This is a big problem, but at the moment not our most pressing one.”I’m taken aback; what is he talking about?“I’ve met your husband now, the Alpha of Silver Claw. I’ve watched you two and I see the truth now.”“The truth? What do you mean?”“You are fated mates.”I try to speak, to deny it and he stops me.“I saw your physical reactions to each other. Maybe others might have missed it, but remember I am an old man, an Alpha for a very long time. I know wolf, I saw your wolf and his. It is an undeniable fact.”“Okay...yes, you

  • Substitute Luna, Runaway With His Quadruplets   28. This is attempted murder

Ivy’s POVWe get back to the villa and I’m seriously shaken. I never thought Dylan could do something like this to me. Despite everything, we’re family.Ryder and Thomas sit with me while I try to put together a plan.“We must give all of it to the police. This is attempted murder. Ivy, you can’t solve this alone,” Thomas says. “Montague is a very dangerous man.”Ryder doesn’t agree. “Yes, perhaps the 29s and Montague need to be dealt with by the police but Dylan is the pack’s problem. He tried to kill the next Alpha. That’s serious. It’s treasonous.”I’m shocked to understand how deep Dylan’s hatred for me goes. I could be dead if it wasn’t for Theodore picking up my scent and finding me.“I don’t know what to do. I think I need Dawson,” I say.“Do you think that’s wise, Ivy?” Ryder asks. “Dawson will think you’re only trying to get him on your side against Dylan. I think it could backfire.”“Not if I bring Theodore and Kingsley with their evidence. It won’t be only me talking. Ther

Theo’s POV I wake up before sunrise from a dream that brings tears to my eyes. In the dream, instead of seeing Ivy and Thomas’ son, I see my four children. They’re running and playing, now five years old, strong and healthy. Ivy and me are watching them with love and pride, my arm around her waist, her head on my shoulder. It’s such a perfect dream that when I wake up and see that it is not true I’m devastated. It’s what might have been if Ivy hadn’t had the car accident that killed our four babies.I stay in bed for a bit, trying to get over the dream. It’s gone now and it will never be. Ivy is with Thomas — and they have Noah. Despite us being fated, I need to somehow face that Ivy and I will never be together. That seems the only ending now.I get out of bed and take a walk in the dark; I need to clear my head. My phone rings and I wonder who could call me so early. It’s Kingsley.“Morning, Boss.”“Wow Kingsley. You’re up so early.”“Am I? This is my usual time.,” he says, confuse

Ivy’s POV Thomas, Ryder, and the twins return after they see Theodore’s car is gone. I’m on the sofa with a very big glass of wine. I’m certain my head will explode from all of the stress. What just happened?!?“He’s left?” Thomas asks.“Yes, thank the Goddess!” I say. Olivia and Noah climb up on my lap and hug me even though both of them are soaking wet.“What happened? Why are you wet?” I ask them.Olivia takes a turtle out of her pocket. “We were saving Doris.”I look at Ryder and he’s laughing. “Apparently Doris was cold and lonely,” he says. “Now she’s going to live with her friend Olivia...happily ever after.”“Olivia, I told you before. Turtles, like squirrels and frogs and praying mantises, live where they like to live and are friends with others like themselves. You’re a human. They can’t even speak your language. They’ll miss home and all of their friends and their mother and father and grandfather.”“Oh no! I forgot!” Olivia begins to cry. “I didn’t want to make Doris sad

  • Substitute Luna, Runaway With His Quadruplets   25. The kidnapped family

Theo’s POV I came here to talk to Ivy about the meeting but also to spend some time with her. I keep thinking that we can work through her doubts and find our way back together. My faith in that is strong. Now, it’s all wavering.I feel glued in place. I knew there was a boyfriend somewhere but now to see him in the flesh is too much. How can Ivy love another? Kiss another? I want to leave but I can’t. I feel like I need to do something, but what? I hear a noise outside and it knocks me out of my thoughts. I look and, to my surprise, a boy comes rushing into the room.“Mummy, we saw fish and a turtle and heron at the lake!” the boy says diving into Ivy’s lap.“That’s quite exciting,” Ivy says. “Sounds like a good trip.”Who is this? I can’t keep my eyes off of the boy. There’s something abut him. I look at Ivy and I can see she’s upset. She didn’t want me to see this child, that’s clear. Why? “You have a son?” I ask, not able to stop myself. First a fiancé and then a son?“Yes. I
