OPRAH’S POV

I hated the fact that I still had a tiny hope that was still buried inside of me. I had tried to kill it, but it just couldn't go away. It still made me believe that I could do something to save my pup and I.

With that thought, I ran my weak hand on my stomach, praying to the Moon Goddess to spare the life growing inside of me.

I wasn't sure if it was still alive. But yet again, I still had hopes that my pup was alive.

Only if wishes were horses then beers could ride. A tear ran down my weak bruised left hand.  But something popped up in my head and I quickly blinked the tears, before turning to the gates.

It was dark inside but by now, I was used to the darkness and the pain too. My heart started thumping in my chest as I searched for something. I didn’t know what but I was desperate.

I had to leave here, and deep down, that tiny hope that I could save my unborn pup, was still there. I had to escape. It was now or never.

“Hey!” Using the little strength I had, which right now I needed the most, I called. It was so dark that I couldn’t see anything, I was just an omega, born by a stripper omega after all. But I was sure they were there watching over me. They wouldn't dare leave, especially now that they were waiting for tomorrow morning to tear me apart.

No, I had to do something. If I failed? Well, at least I tried.

Damm!

I clenched my fists hard so that the silver chains around my wrists dig deeper, leaving excruciating pain behind.

“Hey, I need help.” I called again. It went quiet again, making me grit my teeth hard.

“Is anyone there? I need help with the chains!” This time, my voice came out louder than expected.

“They are draining me off my blood.” I continued after the silence.

“Someone should loosen them up before I end up dying here. I am sure the Alpha wouldn't want that.” I used the last words to threaten but still, nothing.

I swallowed before giving up, tears now strimming down my cheeks like water, feeling terrible.

I had failed my pup.  I had failed us. I  didn’t deserve this gift.

“I-if you knew this would happen, why did you give me this gift then?” I blurted out, the words shaking, my mouth trembling with the pain from my already shuttered heart.

“I-I hate you moon goddess! Y-you are cruel!” I cursed while preparing my mind to rest before my death when I heard some footsteps.

It must be one of the guards.

I quickly strengthen up, ignoring the pain and the crazy sound of the silver chains.

“Luna Opra?” Someone called, making me widen my eyes ad that would help me see through the dark and it did. Because I was able to see a silhouette of someone.

“Come here and…”

“Shhhh! I am here to help you.” The voice said before the screeching sound of the keys and then the metallic door was open.

“Y-you want to help me?” I swallowed hard, my eyes widening at the sight of the person before me.

“Yes, I believe you are innocent.” A drop of tear slipped out of my right eye to my tattered clothes.

“Y-you believe….me…” finally, someone was on my side. Someone had believed me. Someone who wasn't even my blood while the one who had my blood rushing down their veins, condemned me and left me for the vultures.

“We need to get you out before they find us and kill us for betraying the Alpha.” The person who was already Orpington the silver chains.

“What if the Alpha finds and kill you too?”

“Don't worry about me. Worry about yourself and the pup growing inside of you.”

Yes, my pup. My hand which was now free ran to my stomach.

I had to do this. I had to save us.

He finished unlocking the chains and helped me up. I was too weak but I managed to put a hand on his shoulder before he pulled me out of the dungeon through a secret tunnel I never knew existed even though I had been the Luna of this pack for two good years.

“This is where we part.” My eyes scanned the place and I realised we had reached the woods.

“You need to be strong and run before midnight.” I knew what he meant by that. I knew very well.

I nodded, tears of joy rushing down my eyes.

“Y-you really rushed your life for me…” before I knew it, I was sobbing.

“I-I will….never forget this, never.” He nodded quickly, his head tuning back and forth d if afraid someone would notice us.

“Go, go Luna and save yourself pup…” I didn't let him finish before running to the other direction.

I was weak yes, but one thing I knew was that I had to save my pup and I. I didn’t know where I was going but I knew I had to create a huge distance between me and this place. The same place I used to call home, the only place I knew as home.

I kept running, not wanting to look back, not wanting to think. My broken heart thumped in my chest but I kept running. My body was screaming because of pain as the wounds of days of being buttered in the dungeon getting into contact with thorns but I kept going.  My knees wanted to give up but I limped off, trying to be strong.

I didn’t know for how long I had run when my knees gave up and I couldn't run anymore, making me stop, my hands on my knees, my breaking coming out loud and uncontrollably.

A scream tore through the woods, making my already broken heart stop cold in my chest and I almost thought I had died.

“What a beautiful kitten doing in the woods at night?” My cold heart dropped to my stomach at the deep, cold and thick voice, making me almost fall over.

Rogues had found me!

But before I could digest what was happening, I felt dizzy and before I knew it, I landed into oblivion.

DERRICK’S POV"I really do not want to know." Oprah said. Her emotionless mask stayed firmly in place, but her face looked paler than before.Something was wrong. I could feel it in my bones. It was as if she had seen a ghost. Her fists balled tightly at her sides."Now if you will excuse me, I need to use the restrooms." She continued. Before I could react, she walked past me and headed in the other direction.I swallowed hard. I did not know what to say or how to react.I knew I should not be here. I knew I should not be this close to her. But I could not stay away. When I saw her rushing toward the entrance earlier, I knew something was wrong. My wolf had confirmed it. I had seen the man from earlier. She had been staring at him, and he at her. When she bolted out, I knew she was going after him. That was why I left the ballroom immediately after Lilith stepped down from the stage. She had welcomed the master of ceremonies to continue with the fundraising. She then told me she need

OPRAH’S POV"Looking for someone?"The voice came from directly behind me. Low. Calm. Too calm.Every muscle in my body locked. My heart slammed against my ribs like it wanted to escape. Cold sweat prickled along my spine. I knew that voice. I did not know how, but something deep inside me recognized it. It was as if I had met the owner beforw. My instincts screamed at me not to turn around. But I did. Slowly.A man stood a few feet away. Tall. Broad-shouldered. His face was partially shadowed by the dim lighting, but I could see enough. Sharp jawline. Dark eyes that seemed to pierce straight through me. He was not smiling. He did not need to. His presence alone commanded the space around him. And...there was something dangerous about this man. I didn’t know what, but I just felt out of place being in front of him. My body screamedfor me to run. But not anymore. "Indeed it has been years, and you've changed to a confident amd bold woman," he said quietly. His voice carried no threat,

The emerald gown swayed with each movement. My red hair caught the light from the chandeliers, drawing even more eyes. I could feel the weight of every gaze in the room. Cameras flashed relentlessly. Whispers rippled through the crowd like waves.Lilith stood frozen at the podium. Her smile remained fixed, but I saw the way her fingers dug into the wood. Her knuckles had turned white. Her chest rose and fell too quickly. She was losing control, and she knew it.Derrick stood slightly behind her. His hazel eyes followed me the entire way. His expression stayed carefully neutral, but I caught the tension in his jaw. His wolf was close to the surface. I could almost feel it.Alexander walked beside me. OPRAH’S POVI saw him across the crowded ballroom. His suit fit him perfectly. His hair was combed neatly back. That small smile played on his lips, revealing the single dimple on his left cheek. His eyes. Goddess. He looked exactly like my son. It was as if Zarek had chosen to take every feature from this man.I would be lying if I said the sight of him did not affect me. He was breathtakingly handsome. The way he raised his brows sent heat rushing through my body. I tightened my grip around the stem of my champagne glass. My thighs pressed together instinctively. My heart throbbed heavily in my chest. What was happening to me? I should not be feeling this way. Not for him. I pushed the thoughts down and tried to focus on why I had come. I needed to stay sharp."What do you mean?" Lilith lashed out, pulling me back to the present.I pushed aside my wandering thoughts. I made sure my expression remained calm and composed. I smiled, my head held high and my shoulders straight."Let us

DERRICK’S POVI could feel it in my gut that something was wrong. I did not like the idea that Lilith had invited Oprah to her charity gala. That woman was planning something. Even though I hated the thought of attending, I knew I had to go.I finished the last of the documents and paperwork on my desk. There was always so much work that demanded my attention. That was the price of leading both a pack and a company.I sighed and pressed a hand to my forehead. The headache from earlier had returned with full force. What had Lilith been doing during those sixteen years that my men could not uncover? Where had she been? Could it be true that she was Elizabeth Hunter? Then what Dominic had said hit me like a blow. She was his foster sister.I swallowed hard. The air in my lungs suddenly vanished. I felt like choking. My eyes widened."She is Dominic's foster sister." I murmured to myself."That only means Dominic knows something about her past." I stood abruptly, twirling the pen in my ha

  • THE ALPHA'S GREATEST MISTAKE    THE GALA

LILITH’S POVEverything was in place. The preparations had gone flawlessly. So many volunteers had stepped forward that I barely spent a cent. Waiters in crisp uniforms moved gracefully among the guests, carrying trays of champagne and hors d'oeuvres. The men wore tailored tuxedos, the women exquisite gowns and jewels that sparkled under the grand chandeliers. They all claimed to be here for the greater good, but I knew better. They came to be seen.My speech had worked perfectly. The crowd had swallowed every word. They believed the narrative I fed them — that whoever tried to tarnish my name was the real villain. Comments flooded my social media. Some insulted the liars. Others pitied me. Many sent donations to support my charities.I smiled as I glided through the elegant ballroom. The expensive chandeliers cast golden light across the room, creating soft shadows on the faces of the wealthy elite. I could not have asked for more.I passed groups of guests, keeping my gentle and inn
