Elena smoothened her dress as she sat across from brothers in the platinum booth. Crystal chandeliers sparkled overhead, and the soft murmur of conversation filled the upscale restaurant.

"Do you feel any better sister? I don't want you to worry about anything." Said Kelvin, the youngest brother.

Ethan, the oldest brother, wore a big smile. "You don't have to cry any more. I'm going to protect."

"As for your ex husband and his girlfriend, they will pay for ever messing with one of the Andersons." Her second brother Martins cracked his finger.

"You can count on me to protect you as well sister, also I'm going to spoil you so much." Mark was the third brother. Since the day Elena arrived he has actually been spoiling her.

Elena's heart fluttered. So this is how it feels to have brothers.

She then glanced around at the gold-trimmed walls. "Why are we spending so much at a place like this? I mean, I know we're.." She stopped mid-sentence, remembering. Right. They were loaded. Sometimes she still forgot what that meant.

Kelvin set down his menu and grinned. "Actually, sis, there's something I should tell you."

"What?"

"We own this upscale restaurant. The whole chain, actually. My grandfather acquired it last year."

Elena's fork clattered against her plate. "We what?"

"Own it. So eat anything you want." He laughed. "Well, technically bills are on us."

She shook her head in disbelief. "You couldn't have mentioned this before?"

"Where's the fun in that?" Ethan signaled the waiter. "Bring us your best dishes. Everything."

Elena couldn't help but smile. Her brothers always knew how to make her feel better, especially after the day she'd had. The memory of getting the divorce papers. Tiffani still burned in her mind, but she pushed it away. Tonight was about moving forward.

They were halfway through their appetizers when a commotion near the entrance caught her attention.

"I'm sorry, sir, but the Platinum Lounge is fully booked tonight," the hostess said apologetically.

"I promised my girlfriend we'd dine there. Can't you make an exception?"

"I'm afraid not, sir. But we have availability in our regular lounge. It's still quiet."

"Fine. Regular lounge then."

Aaron and Tiffani settled for the regular lounge. One can see the irritation on her face. Although the regular lounge had a beautiful view, eating at the premium lounge showed social standing.

An hour later, Elena and her brothers finished eating.

"Ready to go?"

"Yes."

Actually Elena hadn't felt this way in centuries.

They stood, and Kelvin offered his arm. Elena took it, letting him guide her out of the Platinum Lounge. The exclusive section had a separate exit that led through the main restaurant, and as they walked through, heads began to turn.

Whispers started immediately.

"Is that the Andersons brothers?"

"Oh my God, it is!"

"Who's the woman with them?"

"She's so beautiful."

Flashes of camera light filled their faces. Although security was there to stop the crowd from going crazy.

Elena kept her head low as they walked, ignoring the cameras.

In the regular lounge, Tiffani grabbed Aaron's arm. "Babe, what's happening?"

Aaron craned his neck. "Someone famous must be here."

They both stretched to see past the crowd gathering near the Platinum Lounge entrance.

"Elena".

Her name escaped his mouth.

His ex-wife. Walking arm-in-arm with the Andersons brothers.

blood drained from his face.

"That's... that's Elena," Tiffani exclaimed. Her face went pale.

Aaron pushed through the crowd of gawking diners, his heart hammering. What was Elena doing with Kelvin Andersons? How did she even know him?

"Elena!" he called out.

She stopped. Kelvin turned slightly, his expression cool and assessing.

Aaron rushed forward, nearly tripping over his own feet. "Elena, I.." He looked at Kelvin, then back at her. "Wife, I need to talk to you."

Elena's eyes went cold. "Ex-wife.”

She sealed the box with tape without saying any other word from her mouth. She made sure that the tape was completely sealed and pushed it away. She did not want anything that would take her back to the lifestyle that she was already putting out. Now it’s going to be a new, different version of Elena. She let us smile but she was not ready to leave the house for that day. It was just her alone in the house so she didn’t have any reason to panic at all. By evening, nothing remained in the room that reminded her of Marilyn. Finally, she achieved her plan but what remained was what every other person outside was going to say, especially Aaron if they heard of the news. Although she didn’t plan to say anything to anyone. She walked onto the balcony. The cool wind brushed against her face. Then she took a deep breath and let it out calmly, staring at the whole city from her view. Below, the city continued moving as if nothing had changed. Cars drove past. But actually, nothi

Marylin stood alone in the large bedroom, staring at her reflection in the mirror. There has been a lot going on in her mind, but she has decided to keep it to herself. The woman looking back at her was beautiful, elegant, and flawless. Sometimes she looks at herself and wonders why she is going through so much trouble when she is just supposed to sit back and relax self But she was not real. She has thought about going back to her real self but it’s not something that was easy for her to do. She lifted a trembling hand and touched her smooth cheek. Underneath the carefully designed face was someone else. Someone she had kept in hiding for months. Someone named Elena. She closed her eyes. “How much longer?” she whispered to herself. The room remained silent. She had spent months pretending to be Marilyn. She had smiled when she wanted to cry. She had acted innocent when her heart was full of anger. She had worn expensive dresses, expensive jewelry, and a face that neve

The discussion did not continue with a call again, it continued with the meeting with each other inside the black SUV car that was just by the street. He was already here before he even called her and all she did was just go out to meet him.“I hired you because you said you could find answers.” Marylin didn’t give him any room to talk too much. “And I still believe we will.” He muttered. Marylin shook her head. She didn't really believe in him because his confidence was beginning to sound empty. For weeks he had repeated the same promises. But there was nothing that was bringing progress, and he didn’t look like he was doing anything serious. For weeks she had listened. But nothing had changed. Meanwhile, she felt trapped inside a mystery that refused to move forward.“The stalker knows everything,” she said quietly. “He knows where I go.”“Yes.” D Seer responded immediately. “He knows who I meet.” She Snapped. “Possibly and he always stays one step ahead.”The investigator was si

Marylin had never imagined that finding the truth would be this difficult. She thought that she was never going to agree with him, but it was all a joke when everything started. She couldn’t just see herself going against the private investigator. Even while she was supposed to be at peace without bothering about anyone looking at her or watching her every move, she noticed that D Seer constantly sent his personal assistant, Grey, to watch everything that she did. He wouldn’t come out of the plane, but decided to stay in the dark. I know exactly how everything was going. Sometimes she even wonders how he managed to get all the information about what is happening around without even telling a word to him.A full month had passed since she had an agreement with the investigator to uncover the identity of the mysterious stalker and expose the person responsible for the crimes hidden inside Anderson Company. They had already come a long way and she just had to make that decision so that

After a brief pause, the investigator continued speaking. “The people behind this planned everything carefully.”Marylin’s expression immediately became serious as she listened to every detail he explained.“They knew where you would be.” the private investigator added.Marylin nodded slowly. “I know.”He continued without stopping. “They understood the security at the club.”She answered quietly, “Yes.”Then he added, “They even had people waiting outside.”Marylin took a deep breath before whispering, “They’ve been watching me.”The investigator nodded. “They have.”She swallowed hard as fear slowly filled her heart once again. But was it really fear? It could not be fear in her mind because she was doing everything deliberately, and she knew exactly what she was getting herself into.“If they’re watching me…” she whispered. The investigator remained silent, allowing her to finish her own thoughts. “…then maybe they already know who I really am.” Her voice became much quieter by the

Marylin arrived home very late, but then she could not complete her meeting with the private investigator earlier, so they decided to meet outside her house. She immediately took her bath and then changed to something simple before she left the house like she was taking a walk around the street.Just a few minutes walk from her main house, a very clean car, parked by the side of the road, quickly turned on the engine and then drove towards her. She hesitated for a while, and then quietly looked through the glass by the door, Greg immediately stepped down from the driver's seat and opened the car door for her to enter.“We have been waiting for you.” That was all he said, but she did not respond to him. The guy she wanted to talk to was inside, probably waiting for her too. The investigator sat behind the driver’s seat with the engine switched off. Their car was parked in a quiet corner of her street. People walked in and out of the building, completely unaware of the serious conver

His laughter reminded Elena of a warm morning. It was the first time that she was hearing him laugh and she liked the sound of it. “Rest up, Miss Thompson. Tomorrow’s going to be a long day.” It sounded like a threat and just as she was about to ask, he ended the call. When Elena woke up that mor

Elena couldn’t focus on anything when she got back to the office and she couldn’t wait to speak to the private investigator, to tell him all that she had found out. Throughout the drive home, all she kept thinking about was the phone call. An Anderson was in contact with Aaron. The problem was tha

He had actually done it! Elena beamed. Her plan had worked faster than she expected. “Aaron…” “I told her that it was over,” His voice was firm now. “No more pretending. No more pressure from my parents.” He let out a deep breath. Elena smiled, but she still wasn’t convinced. Mr and Mrs. Calval
