LOGINRafael’s POV
Fair and Slim, a Maiden Youth. Hair and Skin so Pale and Smooth… When you shall see these signs, you have met the mate that is destined as Wife.
It was always the same fucking nursery rhyme! Could the seer not tell me anything better to help me find this mystery woman that was supposed to bear my children and stand at my side as Luna?
The thought ran through my head as I walked unhurriedly towards the lounge where beta Ted told the rep of the Silver Arrow pack to wait.
Lacy floated into my mind again and I scoffed. Six months into our hidden tryst, I had approached the seer, to find out if she was the one and that was when I was given that fucking nursery rhyme.
She didn’t fit any of those criteria, I should have dropped her then but things were too good for me to stop.
I pushed her out of my head, now was not the time to reminisce.
Beta Ted walked ahead of me and pushed open the posh lounge door and held it open with a slight bow.
I walked into the chilly room, my eyes scanning my guest, a chill went down my spine.
She was dressed corporately, a tight-fitting purple satin blouse with the first few buttons undone, exposing a slight cleavage and then a below the knee black skirt that was slit around the left side showing more slender pale thighs.
But that was not the most striking thing about her, what took my breath away was the fact that she was blonde and as pale as a corpse.
Fair and Slim, a Maiden Youth. Hair and Skin so Pale and Smooth
My eyes narrowed as I fought to regain my composure.
She got up when I walked in and bowed slightly.
Was this actually happening? I took a step closer to her, my body moving of its own volition.
She straightened and then stiffened when she noticed how close I was, “Alpha Rafael…” she stuttered, her pitch-black pupils avoiding eye contact with me, “I am from the Silver…”
I was not paying attention to anything that was tumbling out of her mouth, I was too stunned, too excited to listen, my heart pounded in my chest.
Was it actually coming true? The word of prophecy that I had dubbed a nursery rhyme? So the seer had been right.
I took another step closer to her.
She tried to move back but I reached out and wrapped my arm around the small of her back.
She tensed at my touch and stiffened, “Uhm… this is–”
“Shh,” I silenced her as I ran my left index finger against her temple and then down her cheeks.
Fuck… her skin was dead pale, no way she was not the one the prophesy spoke of, “What is your name?”
“Rosa… Rosa Lillias,” her voice was scarcely above a whisper as she remained tensed, she finally managed to look up at me, her black pupils shimmering with curiosity and fear.
I stared down against her, a fiery passion igniting in my heart – I had found what I had been looking for six fucking months, “Rosa… the goddess brought you to me,” I grunted in a deep guttural voice.
Her body shuddered in response to it, “Uhm–”
“Don’t say anything! Starting today – you are mine.”
She stared at me with a blank expression on her face.
I let go of her back and she staggered backwards as if she was drunk and dropped on the sofa.
As she did, her short skirt hiked up even further exposing pale sexy thighs.
I swallowed as desire surged within me, I wanted to take her there and then but I restrained myself.
“Ted, give her anything she wants, make sure she is comfortable,” I said and then headed out.
Beta Ted fell in step behind me, “Alpha, what about the Silver Arrow pack?”
I spun around to stare him dead in the face, “Fuck the Silver Arrow pack!” my voice echoed across the halls. “Do you not realize what just happened?”
He stared at me blankly.
I exhaled deeply, it wasn’t his fault, I didn’t tell anyone about the prophecy including him. “I have found my mate, Ted. My destined mate!”
His eyes widened, “The rep from the Silver Arrow Pack? Alpha Luca is not going to like that very much.”
I clicked my tongue dismissively, “I will handle Luca… right now, what I want you to do is to make her comfortable. Make sure she lacks nothing and then assemble the council.”
He nodded curtly and then dashed off.
I stood in the hallway alone, a beaming smile on my face, I still could not believe it, I had found her!
There was going to be absolutely no delay, I needed to marry her as soon as possible but Ted was right. Luca was going to want to make a fuss about me poaching his rep – I needed to deal with him first.

I was just rounding up the phone call with Luca in my study when a timid knock sounded at the door, I almost didn’t hear it the first time around.
“Of course you are going to be invited for the wedding Luca, I cannot leave out such an honored guest,” I laughed heartily.
The knock sounded again, catching my attention, I ignored it.
Whoever it was should have taken a hint that I either wasn’t on seat or didn’t want to see them, they didn’t.
The door yawned open slowly and Lacy poked her head in gingerly, “Alpha?”
My gaze narrowed, “Let me call you back, Luca… yeah, something came up. No rest for we alphas… Yeah sure,” I hung up.
She gave me a charming smile – something that usually warmed me but I felt nothing.
She walked in, dressed in a flowing flower red dress that was just slightly above the knee, that dazzling smile still on her face, “Sorry for the interruption,” she said, “I am here, 8 on the dot, just as you requested.”
Rafael’s POVMy eyes stayed locked on the flesh carving of the insignia of the Balt Pack. This did not make sense. Why would Blaine do something like this? The man was an evil son of a bitch but he was not reckless. This looked sloppy as fuck.“Wait, I thought he could not do that?” Detective Jane rightly said.“He must have run mad. His curse must have driven him insane. This is definitely him!” Ted said bitterly.I remained speechless. Who had a reason to kill Dr. Ian? He was like the last person I expected to die under any condition. When I heard there had been a killing at the hospital, I thought Rosa had lost her mind and gone after Katherine Cage, this… I was not expecting.“This does not look like the work of Blaine,” I said finally.“What?” Ted was dumbfounded.Even I could not believe what I was saying, it felt weird vouching for that devil.I shook my head, “Does not match his style.”Ted scoffed, “This is definitely him, alpha. I can feel it in my bones!”“But a direct atta
Rafael’s POV“Mom isn’t here, but I think you know this already,” Cass said.I stared at the little boy that held the door open, trying to gauge his thoughts. “You are right,” I said.“Then why are you here?” he asked, still blocking the doorway with his little body.“Hey, Cass, let Mr. Rafael in, what is your problem?” Andy interjected. He turned to look at his older brother who was speaking from an unseen position inside, “Stay out of this!”“Like hell I will!” Andy came into sight and bumped into Cass sending him staggering to the side.“Sorry about that, Mr. Rafael, come on in,” he held the door open.I gave him a small smile and nodded at him. “What is it that you do exactly?” Cass asked, following me behind.“Don’t pay him no mind,” Andy said. “Mom is not back yet but you can wait for her.”“No, he can’t.” Cass objected.I could not help but smile to myself as the boys argued. How nice it must be to grow up with siblings, something I never had and right now, it wasn’t looking
Lacy’s POVLucas was outside mum’s hospital room and he got up as soon as he saw me.“I am not here to fight, I just want to see how she is doing,” I said with my hands in the air, a sign of complete surrender. He stared at me and then he sighed, “Good, she has been asking about you… and the kids.”“I haven’t even told them about what happened to their granny yet, can’t bring myself to,” I admitted out loud.Lucas nodded, “That’s probably for the best. She would be out of here in a few days, no need to worry them.”I smiled at him, “Were you just being considerate to your nephews and niece?”He scoffed, “Whatever, come on in.”I followed behind him, the smile on my face getting bigger, “They are adorable, aren’t they? Even you can’t deny that.”He scoffed louder but there was mirth in his voice now, “Don’t you have any shame?”“Not at all,” I giggled.Lucas chuckled. My smile widened.I got a chuckle out of him, maybe things were not so hopeless.Mum was sitting up in bed getting che
Rosa’s POV“Mum, I am telling you. He was as crazy as a bat out of hell!”I was pacing back and forth in my mother’s chamber in the North Wing.“I think he know, Ma, I think he does! I have never seen him this angry.”My entire body shuddered as I recalled what happened. The alpha had never stared at me like that before, not with such a murderous gaze, a gaze that paralyzed me and made me almost piss myself.“Mum! You are not saying anything!” I began to panic.“Would you just shut it for a minute and let me think?” She snapped. My mother was seating in an arm chair with her right hand tucked under her jaw, “What else did he say?”“Nothing, he stormed off after telling me to stay away from that bitch.” I was breathing heavily as I tried to calm myself down.“He smashed my favorite mirror, mum. He did! We are screwed.”“Could you shut it and let me think?” She snapped again.I stared at her and smirked, “This is all your fault, you are the one that told me to go after Lacy. You caused
Rafael’s POV“How much is it going to cost?” I asked.Alpha Johnson’s voice sounded gruff through the phone, “Sixteen million, give or take.”I frowned, “The asking price is 10, what is the other 6 supposed to be for?”I heard him chuckle on the other end of the line, “Alright, make it twelve and let’s call it a day.”“Johnson, all you are getting out of me is 11 and it will be wired to your corporate account within the hour.”“Always as frugal as ever,” he commented, “Fine, eleven it is but don’t transfer it yet. Let the paperwork be finalized with Baron Steel first. I don’t want such huge sum accumulating dust and getting taxed.”“Let me know when. And Johnson… Don’t forget your own end of the deal,” I reminded him.“It is not me you should be worrying about. My vote alone will not get you the result you need. Who else have you managed to convince?”“You let me worry about the other votes, just do your part.”I hung up and frowned.Alpha Johnson was not wrong, I needed at least one
Blaine’s POV“What is this?” Lacy asked as she reached into the envelope and pulled out its contents.I leaned back and watched her expression as she went through them. She was shaking her head, a look of confusion on her face, “What are these? What am I looking at here?”She dropped the pictures that were in the envelope on the table and looked at me with a questioning look.“Blaine, what does this have to do with stopping the merger?”I smiled, “I take it you don’t know who any of the people in the pictures are.”“Am I supposed to know them?” she looked slightly irritated. “This is your smoking gun?”I decided to explain, “The man in the picture – that is alpha Johnson of Johnson Corp and the woman that he is fooling around with is the wife of the CEO of Baron Steels. The company Johnson Corp wants to merge with.”Lacy gasped, “What? Alpha Johnson is having an affair with the wife of the man he wants to do a merger with?”“Exactly.”She shook her head in disapproval, “But how exactl
Lacy’s POV“Don’t stop,” I moaned breathlessly. He growled in my ear and the deep vibration from his throat stirred my insides and I felt my thighs vibrate in a sensual response to his voice so close to me.His grip on my hips tightened as he pushed me against the ornate table and leaned in close,
Lacy’s POVWhore?Where the hell did that come from? There was no doubt about it, the alpha was mad at me, but now I was not just scared, I was scared and confused.“Was this your plan all along?” he asked as he stared at me, his eyes demanding answers.I was used to the alpha’s occasional bouts of
Lacy’s POV“A wolf?” he sounded surprised. He stepped forward, a cocky smile on his face, “I have not seen your face around here before. Who are you working for?”My heart was racing and my mind was thinking. What could I do? Betas were second only to their alphas in the pack and were skilled figh
Rafael’s POVFor a moment, Rosa and I were stuck in a staring contest. Her suggestion that I would lay a hand on her left a bitter taste in my mouth.“I don’t have time for this,” I grunted and abandoned her and her two fucking puppets in the garden. If Rosa wanted to be fucking useless, so be it,
