Mag-log in"You look absolutely amazing," the tailor gushed.
I didn't reply back. She said the same thing every couple of minutes.
I stared at the dress. It was beautiful. It was a white ball gown with long lace arms that were off the shoulder. The veil flowed behind me. It was a train. I looked like a fairy tale princess exactly how I've always wanted to look on my wedding. I didn't choose the dress, the venue, makeup artist, cake. I didn't even choose my hairstyle. I chose absolutely nothing so as far as I'm concerned this isn't the wedding I've always dreamed of. "You're ready," the tailor stated as she looked down at my dress with pride. She quickly grabbed her things and left the bridal suite.
I moved away from the mirror and looked outside the window. Maybe, this marriage won't be so bad. Suddenly, the door is thrown open.
"Why the fuck are you still in here?," he snarled as he stalked towards me. I didn't move from my spot and only turned my body to look at him.
If he wasn't someone I hate so much, I'd feel so lucky right now. He looked handsome. I can already imagine the amount of girls after him. His dark eyes only made him seem more mysterious.
He seemed around 6"1 but I might be wrong. Let's just say that mathematics isn't my strong suit. All I know is that he uses his height to his advantage as he towers over me, making me feel small and intimidated.
"Wipe that look off your face and act like a happy fiancé," I mimicked what he said to me at the ball.
Without a warning, he grabbed my neck and squeezed it, not enough to make me struggle for air but enough to know that he wouldn't hesitate to squeeze harder. I didn't flinch. I was trained to show absolutely no pain. He squeezed a little harder wanting to see me in pain.
I heard the door being pushed open. "Get your hand off my daughter’s neck," my dad said threateningly as he walked into the room.
Adrian removed his hand and neatened up his suit jacket.
Remember what I was saying about this marriage maybe not being such a bad idea after all? Yeah?
Well, scratch that idea. If my dad hadn't have walked in, Adrian would've squeezed my throat until I passed out.
"Make it quick," Adrian snapped as he left the room. I let out a sigh as I felt my body relax. I didn't even realise how tense I was.
"You look stunning," my dad said with tears in his eyes. I didn't say anything. He literally just saw me getting strangled by my soon to be husband.
Why isn't he stopping the wedding? "You'll be fine," he said but it sounded like he said it more to himself than me.
He held his arm out for me to take. I put my arm in his. He opened up the door and we walked to the room where the ceremony was being held. The music started and people stood up. We walked down the aisle slowly. What if I trip? Would Adrian cancel the wedding? He'll probably kill me.
My dad squeezed my arm, stopping me from doing anything.
Finally, we reached the alter. He begrudgingly grabbed my hands once I stood across him. I watched from the corner of my eyes as my father sat in his seat.
There were no bridesmaids or best men.
There was no flower girl or boy. No one walked down the isles with the rings on an expensive pillow. To me, this wedding seems more like a funeral.
The officiant began to speak. I tuned out for the most part until Adrian squeezed my hands really hard. "I-I," I stammered. I looked towards my family who were sat near the front. Sara looked like she was on the verge of tears, my mom looked sad and my dad was slowly nodding head, wanting me to say yes. I glanced up at Adrian to see a vein popping out of his forehead letting me know his patience was running thin.
"I do."
He quickly slipped the ring onto my finger before dipping me. His head covered mine, making it seem to guests that we had kissed. I didn't expect to be kissed anyway.
Claps could be heard from the guests. No cheers.
No laughter. No chatter. Simply claps.
There was no reception. Tables of food and beverages were lined up on the sides.
We walked around for a couple of moments, accepting well wishes from others.
There was no bouquet throwing or family pictures.
As I was being tugged outside the venue, i glanced back. "I need to say goodbye to my family," I told him.
"No," he shrugged carelessly.
"What the fuck is your problem?," I asked him getting fed up of the way he was treating me.
"You."
"Why'd you marry me then?," I burst out.
He rolled his eyes and pushed me into the back of the limo. "Cause I sure as hell didn't want to marry a jackass like you."
"Listen here and listen closely because I'm not gonna repeat myself twice," he said, his voice going dangerously low. A chill ran down my spine. "This is an arrangement.
Nothing emotional or sexual. You mean nothing to me."
The whole car ride back to my new home was awkward and quiet. Finally, the limo stopped in front of a mansion that's possibly bigger than my home. My old home.
He got out and slammed the door shut. I rolled my eyes at his childishness. I pushed the door open and stood outside. "You should've just bought a banner that says 'Welcome to your own personal hell'."
"And I should've killed you when I first met you," he retorted. "There's a lot of things I haven't done that I should've."
I let out a scoff as I pushed past him and entered the house. He followed behind and closed the door.
Daphne’s PoVThe diamond sparkled beneath the bedroom light. It was beautiful….Cold….Lifeless.Exactly like the man kneeling in front of me.“I’ll give you a moment,” Stephan said softly. His smile never faltered.“I know this is unexpected.”Unexpected? My entire body wanted to scream.Instead, I forced myself to breathe. The woman behind the wall had been right.Tomorrow…Everything happened tomorrow. If I refused…Would he force me?If I accepted…Would it buy me time? The answer came almost immediately.Time.I needed time….More than pride….More than anger….More than anything.I slowly looked from the ring to Stephan.“…If I say no?”His smile stayed exactly the same.Only his eyes changed. They became empty…..Dangerously empty.“I’d be disappointed.”The words were gentle….The meaning wasn’t.“And if I still refuse?”He stood.Slowly.Closing the velvet box.“You won’t.”“I asked what would happen.”He walked closer.Close enough for me to smell his expensive cologne. His fingers bru
Daphne’s PoVI read the note again…..And again….And again.Don’t trust Stephan. We’re watching. Wait for my signal. My fingers trembled so violently that the paper nearly slipped from my hand.Someone had left this.Someone had somehow entered my room without Stephan noticing.Or…Had they distracted him?The knock. The man downstairs.Had that been planned?I hurried to the broken breakfast tray and looked around for anything else.Nothing.No second note.No clue.Just shattered porcelain and syrup dripping slowly down the wall.I folded the note into the sleeve of my hospital sweater just as footsteps echoed outside.Someone was standing by my door.I held my breath. The handle rattled once. Then silence.Whoever it was… walked away.I didn’t move for another minute. My pulse was still racing.Someone was here.Someone knew I existed. And someone wanted Stephan to fail.Hours crawled by.The afternoon sunlight shifted across the bedroom floor. No one came….No food….No Stephan….Nothing.
Daphne’s PoVI didn’t sleep. Not even for a second.Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Sebastian. Then I saw the crash. Then Stephan’s face. Then one word echoed over and over again.Pregnant.I sat curled up in the corner of the room, my knees pulled tightly against my chest. If he was lying…Then good.If he wasn’t…I instinctively rested a hand against my stomach.“I’ll get you out,” I whispered so quietly I barely heard myself. “I don’t know how… but I will.”A knock sounded outside.Three slow knocks. Then the door unlocked.Stephan stepped inside carrying a breakfast tray.Pancakes.Fruit.Orange juice. He smiled as though yesterday hadn’t happened.“As long as you’re carrying my family, you need to eat.”I nearly laughed.“My family?” I asked.“Our family.”“It’s Sebastian’s child.”His jaw clenched.“I said eat.”“I’m not hungry.”“You are.”“No.”His smile slowly disappeared.“You’ll hurt the baby.”“Then let me leave.”“No.”“Then stop pretending you care.”His eyes darkened
Daphne’s PoVJust over a month laterIt's been just over a month since the crash and I'm still being kept hostage by Stephan . I'm still in the hospital but everyday he comes by and stays for an hour or two before leaving."She's not ready yet," I heard Stephan say loudly from outside my door. Clearly, he was on the phone to someone. He stayed silent for a while as the other person spoke. "I'll let you know when she's ready. And when I tell you that the plan needs to start. We'll be on the first flight out once the date has been set.He stayed silent before cutting the call. He's clearly talking about me but what plan is he talking about? Where even am I? Why do we need to get on a damn plane to get there?Without a word, he pushed the door open and entered. He came towards the bed and quickly leaned down to give me a peck. With my fast reflexes, I managed to dodge his lips just in time."What was that?," he asked, sounding offended."Stephan, we are family. I've told you that countl
Daphne’s POVMy head throbbed. I slowly opened my eyes before closing them again. The sunlight burning them harshly. The smell of disinfectant made it almost hard to breathe. The beeping noise next to my head gave me a headache as it seemed to get louder and louder. Finally, I managed to open my eyes. I glanced around the room.An IV was in my arm as I was hooked up to something. Wires upon wires came out of my nightgown connecting to a machine. I was in an empty hospital room. Before I even moved, the door pushed open and a doctor walked in.He checked my heartbeat and all the other random stuff they do before giving me a cup of water and leaving. Just as he left another person entered. I drank the whole cup of water like it was a shot before slamming it down. I licked my cracked lips, feeling the need for some chapstick. My eyes widened in shock. "You miss me?,"Stephan asked with a smile on his face. He was acting like everything was normal."Where've you been this whole time?," I
"Twins?," I questioned. She nodded her head."I told my parents," she said. "They were pissed.I mean, who wouldn't be? I'm 18 and I'm pregnant.""But they're okay now, right?""Yeah. I guess they have to be now. Because of the whole Stephan thing, they think I might end up being a target so they're sending me to Italy. That way I'll be kept out of harms way. I just need to tell Lucas before I go.""That's good. You'll be safe there.""Should I call him now? I'd rather not meet up with him. I'd probably end up crying." I shrugged my shoulders, telling her it's up to her."If you want to." She grabbed her phone and put it on loud speaker wanting me to hear it. It rang for a couple of seconds before he answered it."Rose ," he breathed out through the phone. "I've been waiting for your call.""Lucas , listen, I went to the doctor and I'm four months pregnant," she said, cutting to the chase."Four?, "he questioned. "So you're keeping it?""Yeah, don't sound too excited about it," she
"You have an unmoanable name," I thought out loud. Seb looked at me from where he was stood for a moment. "But just imagine it. You can't moan out your name.""Wanna test it out?," he offered."No," I said flatly. He let out a frustrated sigh."It won't happen again," he promised as he came toward
I felt something being put over my lower half. I cracked an eye open to Sebastian at the door.Words were shared between him and whoever was on the other side before they walked in and left a cart of food. When they left, I turned in the bed, moving whatever it was he put over me.As if he knew wha
He closed our hotel room door behind us. I turned to face him and crossed my arms over my chest, narrowing my eyes at him."Don't fucking start," he groaned out."What the hell was that?," I asked. "Were you planning on beating some guy up in the middle of the beach?""Could've," he mumbled. "That
Finally, we were free to leave New York. We were going for our vacation that was in a whole other country. We were on the jet with only ourselves for entertainment. The monopoly board sat in front of us with my thousands of properties covering it. "I'm fucking loaded," I cheered as I bought another
