LOGINShattered Dreams and Broken Spirit
Aria's pov I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, tears streaming down my face. I couldn't take it anymore - the constant mocking, the rejection, the feeling of being worthless. I felt like I was drowning in a sea of despair, with no lifeline in sight. I ran into the forest, straight to the only place that did not make me feel like an outcast ‘the lake’. I wept at the shores of the lake for the longest time till I was too weak to shed any more tears. I fell asleep by the shore, embracing the peace the calm water brought. Laying there for God knows how long, I woke up to rustling of leaves. I became on high alert as rogues are known to roam this part of the forest. I listened carefully and could hear the footsteps. I tried to gather how many there were but I could only pick up one heartbeat. “Who’s there?” I asked into the dark forest, “come out before I get you out myself” I threatened. Nobody came out, I immediately brought forth vixen. My eyes turned golden and my claws protruded. I was ready for the fight and with Vixen, I got a fighting chance “Calm down little wolf” a voice came from the dark “Who are you and what do you want?” I asked still in my fighting stance. “I’m a friend, Aria” the voice said again “If you are a friend then you won’t hide. Show me your face”. I challenged the voice, it went silent for a few seconds and I saw the bushes move, creating a path as the person emerged from the darkness. A man stood before, his late twenties probably. He was tall and muscular, he wore an all black attire and a black fur cape. “How are you, Aria” he greeted with a smile “Who are you and how do you know my name?” I asked still in my fighting posture not giving him a chance to catch me slipping. “Oh Aria. Everyone knows who you are!” He said as he walked slowly to me “Don’t move close to me.” He Smiled and kept walking, he walked past me and stood by the beach. “You are bold, I love that” he said as he stare out to the water “I’m not going to ask again, who are you?” I asked fiercely “I’m Darius” he looked at me with a side eye and my mouth dropped in surprise. Darius was a rogue Alpha, whose mate betrayed him like Karl did to her. He rained down hell on different packs who dared to cross him. He spread fear anywhere his name is mentioned. His nickname ‘The black death’ describes how his wolf is, black and deadly. Fear gripped me, I couldn’t fend him off by myself. A lot of people tried and they met a glorious exit. “Don’t be scared, Aria. I’m not here to hurt you. I’m here to help you” he said to me “Help me?” I asked in confusion and he nodded, “how?” “I have been watching you since you got rejected by your mate. I have seen how you’ve been treated by your family and your pack. I can see how you burn for revenge Aria and I can help you with that” he said in one breath “Can you help me get revenge?” I asked him and he smirked “What do you get in return?” I asked him again “Nothing but you would have to follow me. I can train you Aria to reach your full potential. I have seen you fight, your wolf is not just an ordinary one, I can sense it. She might be weak but not for long. I can help you come to your full potential” he turned to face me “I can’t leave the pack, it would make me a rogue” I replied to him “Aria you really want to stay in a pack where you are not accepted? Where you get treated like trash?” He asked me as he closed the gap between us. I looked at him in a dilemma. I don’t know him well enough to leave everything and follow him. “I know you are conflicted and you don’t trust me. I will be at the border by 12 midnight tomorrow if you are still interested in my offer. Aria you can be so much more than you think” he then walked past me into the forest. I looked on as I stared into the place he disappeared through. “I should best get going,” I said to myself. I picked up my things and walked back to the pack. —— I got home and the time was past 9. The house was empty with no sign of anyone being home. “Where could they have possibly gone?” I asked myself “Shit, the Alpha’s announcement” I immediately ran out and ran as fast as my legs could carry me to the town hall. When I got there I pushed the door open and everyone turned to look at me. Embarrassed, I dropped my head down and slipped into the side. I could see my family seated, with their perfect daughter not bothered about me. As I was about to walk towards them, vixen started to act up. She was reacting to her mate, she wanted him. When I looked up my eyes met with the Alpha’s. He glared at me obviously hating the fact that the mate bond was affecting him too. He ignored me and began his speech. “Good evening silver claw. I won’t keep y’all waiting and I would go straight to why we are here. Yesterday, the moon goddess revealed my mate to me and as you all know is someone who is not fit to be the Luna of how dear pack. She is not someone who has what it takes to lead a pack and therefore I must reject this gift from the goddess.” The pack whispered “Don’t fret because the moon's goodness is also giving us the power of choice. I am here to let you all know who my handpicked Luna would be.” He paused and stared at the crowd “My mate and your new Luna is no other than Diamond Moon” he said and my heart dropped to my stomach My sister?? Diamond stood up as the hall was filled with claps and shouts of Joy. She waved to the crowd and gave her best smile. “This is my chosen mate” he said to everyone, “Aria moon please step to the podium” he said and all eyes turned to me. I walked to the podium as shame gripped me “I am going to reject you formally in front of the oracle of the moon goodness” he said and I bowed my head in shame as tears roll down my eyes “I Alpha Kael, reject you forever as my mate” he said and I felt the bond snap into two. I held my chest as I was not able to breath well. I couldn’t take it any longer, I looked him in his eyes, my eyes filled with rage and tears. “You are going to regret this, mark my words” i said it and bolted out of the hallDiamond’s POVI stormed into my room, slamming the door so hard the walls shook. The bottle of wine I’d stolen from Kael’s office was still clutched in my hand, my knuckles white from how tightly I gripped it. Pathetic. That’s what today had been. A pathetic display of weakness. I poured myself another glass, downing it in one gulp. The burn in my throat did nothing to soothe the fire in my chest. “They think they’ve won?“ A bitter laugh escaped me. They had no idea what was coming. A knock at my door made me snarl. “Go away.” The door opened anyway. I whirled around, ready to rip into whoever dared ignore me—only to freeze. Him.The man standing in my doorway was tall, his dark eyes sharp, his expression unreadable. He stepped inside, closing the door behind him with deliberate slowness. “You’re slipping,” he said, his voice low. I scoffed. “I don’t answer to you.” “No,” he agreed, tilting his head. “But you do answer to him.” A chill ran down my spine at the
Kael’s povI slowly sneaked out of the ceremony as I was boiling with rage. Aria had just cut ties with the pack and the bond snapped so hard, I could still feel pain in my chest but what I could not take was Diamond interference.I got to the pack before her and walked angrily to my office. I picked up the glass which was on my desk and threw it hard against the wall.It collided and scattered everywhere.“Fuck!”My door to my office flung open and my sister walked in.“What the hell.” she looked around to see the shattered glass.“Kael, what is going on? I heard the commotion and I ran here.”I stared at her with anger in my eyes. This was part of her fault. If she had not testified against me in court, Aria would still be this pack.I rushed to her and slammed her body hard on the wall.“You, you did this.” I said as I choked her hard. I did not care if she was my sister at that moment. She looked at me with her eyes mixed with emotions but I could see her wolf taking control.“Kae
Aria’s POVThe air was thick with tension as the ceremony resumed. Diamond’s presence loomed over us like a storm cloud, her smirk never fading. I could feel the weight of her gaze on me, calculating, waiting. The council leader cleared her throat, her voice steady but firm. “We will now proceed with the second part of the ceremony—the official recognition of the rogue pack as a legal entity under the Moonlight Accord.” Darius stepped back, positioning himself between me and Diamond, his stance protective. Ryker and a few other rogues moved closer, forming a loose barrier around the altar. I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart. “This was supposed to be my moment of freedom. Why did she have to ruin it?”The council leader continued, “Alpha Darius, step forward.” Darius moved to stand before the council, his expression unreadable. “Do you, Darius, swear to uphold the laws of the Moonlight Accord and lead your pack with honor and justice?” “I swear it,” he a
Aria's povThe day for the ceremony is finally here. I have spent my entire time this week preparing for it.Darius for some unknown reason is distant and it was messing with me mentally.I wore my red dress—it represented the ties I was willing to shed for my freedom. As I stared at myself in the mirror, my best friend, Jane walked into the room.“Hey…..how are you? Are you ready?” she asked with a soothing voice.I looked at her with a weak smile, “I'm fine. Thanks for asking. And yes, I'm ready.”“Good, let's do this.”She held her hand out and I took it. I could feel the support she was indirectly giving to me.We walked down to the clearing where my tie breaking ceremony would be held first and then we would all migrate towards the hall to start the ceremony of the rogue pack becoming a new and legal pack.I looked around, “ this was it. I can do this.” I said to myself.Jane smiled at me, “let's get this over with.” I gave her a slight nod and she returned it with a smile. Sh
Darius POVThe forest was quiet, save for the crunch of leaves under my boots as Ryker and I made our way deeper into the woods. This path was well hidden—a place we used for covert meetings when we didn’t want anyone listening in. The moon filtered through the treetops, casting long shadows on the ground, and I could feel the tension building inside me.Ryker didn’t say anything at first, just handed me a folded piece of parchment. I opened it and quickly scanned the contents.“This is a list of Alpha’s she’s been contacting?” I asked. He nodded grimly. “Yes. Five, to be exact. She’s been promising them something from their land resources if they back her during the ceremony.”My grip tightened on the parchment. Diamond wasn’t just scheming—she was preparing for war.“She’s bold,” I muttered. “Trying to take power during a sacred ceremony takes more than confidence. It takes madness.”Ryker crossed his arms. “Or desperation. She knows her window of opportunity is closing.”My though
Darius PovWe were back to our pack. The trip to the silverclaw pack has been nothing but disastrous.Kael and Diamond wanted Aria back in their pack and I just found out that Diamond is planning something bad.I heard a knock on the door, “Come in.”The door was pushed open and Ryker walked into the office.“What is the update?” I asked him without waiting for his input.“Hmmm….a lot is going on but the two ceremonies would be held side by side. So Aria can renounce her rights to the pack and the celebration for being a new pack can commence.” Ryker told me the details.“Why was the ceremony not held in the Silverclaw pack?”I stood up from my chair and walked to the big window, “I don't trust them not to pull any other stunt to try and keep Aria there.”Ryker walked to the window, “You seem to really like her.”I paused for a while, “I do, a lot”“Then why don't you let her know?” Ryemker turned to me.“I…I…don't know. Aria has been through so much, from her family, her sister, her
Aria’s POVI stared at Darius, my heart pounding as emotions swirled inside me—hurt, confusion, and an anger I wasn’t sure I had the right to feel. I wanted to trust him, but how could I when he kept something so important from me?His golden eyes, usually filled with warmth when he looked at me, n
Aria’s povFor the past week, it has been quiet. We have been able to move back to our original pack grounds and for once, somewhere felt like home.Everything between me and Darius seemed to light up, even if I was still trying not to stop myself from falling for him.Truthfully, this has been the
Aria’s POVThe forest was eerily silent when I woke the next morning. It wasn’t the peaceful kind of silence that came with dawn—it was the tense, oppressive quiet that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.I slipped out of the small tent I shared with one of the younger rogues, Ava, who
Aria’s POVWeeks laterThe cold night air bit into my skin as I crouched in the shadows, the dense forest around me alive with the whispers of danger. The rogue pack had been tracking this Alpha for weeks, and tonight was the night we made our move. I tightened my grip on the dagger strapped to my
