CASSY

"Hatred." She says it simply, like she's commenting on the weather. "Hatred is remarkably clarifying. It focuses the mind. Gives you purpose."

We stop at a door.

"This is my bedroom," she says, opening it.

The room is enormous. King-sized bed with black silk sheets. More floor-to-ceiling windows. A sitting area with a couch and chairs. Doors leading to what must be a massive closet and bathroom.

And in the corner, on the floor…

A dog bed.

I stare at it. At the plush cushion in a simple metal frame, it was clearly expensive but undeniably degrading.

"You're joking."

"Do I look like I'm joking?" Sienna walks to her closet, starts undressing. She's completely unselfconscious, stripping off the silk pyjamas like I'm not even there. "You'll sleep there until you earn the right to sleep in my bed."

"Earn it, how?"

She emerges from the closet wearing nothing but black lace underwear. My eyes betray me, taking in the sight of her… long legs, smooth skin, and beautiful curves. She's beautiful. She's always been beautiful, I realize. I just never let myself look.

"By being good," she says, sliding into the bed. "By obeying without question and remembering your place."

"This is cruel."

"Yes." She props herself up on one elbow, looking at me with those dark eyes. "It is. Do you remember what you said to me that day in the cafeteria, Cassy?"

I don't want to remember. But the words come back anyway.

You're the maid's daughter. You smell like cleaning supplies. Did you really think someone like me would ever want to kiss someone like you?

"You humiliated me in front of everyone," Sienna says softly. "You read my letter aloud. My private feelings. You made them laugh at me. And three hours later, I held my father's cold hands."

Her voice doesn't crack, and that somehow makes it worse.

"So yes, this is cruel. But it's also justice. For ten years, I've thought about this moment. About having you exactly where I want you. Powerless, owned, and desperate."

She lies back and pulls the covers up.

"The bathroom is through that door. There are clothes for you in the closet… your size. I had them prepared. You'll shower, change into whatever you find on the counter, and then you'll sleep on that bed in the corner. Do you understand?"

"Yes."

"Yes, what?"

I close my eyes before forcing the words out.

"Yes, Ma'am."

"Good girl."

There it is again. That phrase that shouldn't make me feel anything but does a flutter in my chest, a warmth that I hate myself for feeling.

I walk to the bathroom like a condemned prisoner walking to the gallows.

The bathroom is as obscene as the rest of the apartment. Marble everywhere. Rainfall shower. A bathtub that could fit three people. The floors were heated.

On the counter is a set of pyjamas. When I pick them up, my stomach drops.

They're not pyjamas. It's a short silk nightgown, and it's revealing. The kind of thing designed to tempt and tease. And next to it…

A collar.

A thin black leather with a small silver tag engraved with two letters: S.V.

My hands shake as I pick it up. There's a note underneath in elegant handwriting:

You'll wear this every night. Consider it a reminder of who you belong to.

S.

I want to throw it across the room and walk out of here. Just tear up that damn contract, fuck consequences! Ugh!!

But I think of my dear sister, Delilah. Just twenty-one years old, scared and alone, paying for a crime she didn't commit.

And I put on the collar.

CASSYI call Delilah the moment I wake up. She screams so loudly I have to pull the phone away from my ear."I KNEW IT!" she shouts. "I TOLD YOU!"I laugh. "You did.""I told you not to give up! So... are you finally going to believe your big sister?"I roll my eyes even though she can't see me. "I'll think about it."She snorts. "Brat."The next four days disappear in a whirlwind. Orientation day arrives much faster than I expected.I stand in front of the mirror for almost twenty minutes. Nothing feels right.Too casual, formal. Too plain or too much."What are you doing?"I turn around. Sienna is already dressed for work, watching me from the doorway."I don't know what to wear.""Wear clothes."I stare at her. "Very helpful."I sigh dramatically before pulling out another outfit. "What about this?"She barely glances at it. "It covers everything.""Sienna!" I throw the blouse at her."What?" She catches it without effort. She hangs the blouse back inside the wardrobe. "You'll be l

  • THE RUIN OF CASSY BEAUMONT: BOUGHT AND BROKEN   PARSONS

CASSYSienna doesn't come in to console me or anything. I don't know when I drift off to sleep. I wake up and check the time. It's 3 AM. I am dehydrated and decide to get a glass of water from the kitchen.I walk quietly towards the kitchen."Thought you were going to stay in there forever.""Jesus!" I almost have a heart attack. "Why the hell are you sitting in the dark?" I press my hand to my chest."I couldn't..." Her voice is low."You couldn't sleep?" "Ridiculous. I just had work to do." She crosses her arms."Without your laptop? In the sitting room. Not even in your study." I raise an eyebrow. "Just say you couldn't sleep without me... I couldn't sleep too." I shrug."Don't flatter yourself." She stands up and walks to her room. She doesn't know I catch the faint flush on her face. A small smile comes to my lips.I get a glass of water before going to Sienna's room. "Welcome back, Your Highness." She says dryly.I sit on the edge of the bed and try Delilah again and she picks

  • THE RUIN OF CASSY BEAUMONT: BOUGHT AND BROKEN   DELILAH LEAVES

CASSYIt's been three days now, and I've been checking my email, and I haven't seen anything yet. "You'll hurt your eyes staring at the screen all the time." Sienna says without looking at me. She is already dressed for work. "I have an early meeting. The driver will take Delilah to the airport by 11 am. Make sure you're off that bed by then to accompany her."She kisses my cheek and leaves me. No words of encouragement whatsoever. I run a hand through my hair in exasperation.I stand up and freshen up. Then I go downstairs and meet Delilah already dressed and eating breakfast. "Good morning, Cass. Rough night? I made breakfast.""Morning Dee... yeah, something like that..." I drag my feet as I go get bacon and eggs from the kitchen counter."What's wrong, Cass?" Delilah is suddenly beside me, making me jump a little. "Uhm... nothing. It's just that I haven't received anything from Parsons. Maybe... maybe I was rejected." The urge to cry is so strong."Hey... don't say that." She h

  • THE RUIN OF CASSY BEAUMONT: BOUGHT AND BROKEN   WHAT SHE CHOSE

CASSYI feel Sienna's eyes on my body, and it just turns me on. "Cassy... come here." Her eyes are dark. At that moment, I know what she wants. What our bodies want even though we just argued a few moments ago. "Yes, ma'am." I say automatically.I crawl up to her. Thoughts of lust and desire spiral through my head."You've been a naughty girl." Sienna kisses me hard until we are both gasping for breath. That was so hot, but I need to keep my thoughts in check. Though my pussy thinks otherwise as it is already soaked and throbbing.I press my thighs together trying to keep my sexual urge in check. "Promise you won't interfere.""I'll think about it.""No. Promise me. Sienna... please." It feels like I'm begging her to fuck me."I like it when you beg. Maybe you can make me see reasons."Oh... I stare at her, remembering all the hot things she made me go through, the turn ons and how frequently she made me wet my panties. I start craving her badly and the things she does to me.Right

  • THE RUIN OF CASSY BEAUMONT: BOUGHT AND BROKEN   HER OWN NAME

SIENNAI see the way Cassy's jaw clenches when she enters the room, but I say nothing. I am already exhausted from clearing up the mess Bridget and her fan boy caused. I can't deal with any more drama at home, not even from Delilah.I notice how quiet and focused Cassy is since she entered the room."Hey.""Hey." She replies, turning her attention to me.That "Hey" that passes between us has been frequent. I say hi, she says hi. Is this what not being dominant feels like? It will take a lot for me to adjust."What are you doing?""Sienna, earlier Delilah told me to get a life outside this." She gestures around. "Outside you." Her eyes fix on me."Really now?" I raise an eyebrow."Yes, I thought about it, and I think she's right." Her voice is soft."Delilah is a child. You shouldn't take everything she says to you seriously." I say, not looking at her."She may be younger, but she's smart, and I'm not saying that to put myself down.""Hmm...""Well? Won't you say anything? Don't you t

  • THE RUIN OF CASSY BEAUMONT: BOUGHT AND BROKEN   AFTER THE STORM

CASSYI am in the bathroom when Delilah comes rushing into Sienna's room. "Cass! You need to see this." I wrap my towel around my body and step out, water dripping from my wet hair. "What is it, Dee?"She shows me her phone, and I see that Daniel's retraction is making headlines. Bridget Beaumont has been identified as the mastermind behind the scandal, and the FBI has declared Bridget wanted. She is to be brought in for questioning."This is progress." I say calmly. Delilah doesn't say anything. Instead, she hugs me. "Things are looking up. You should find peace."She looks around. "Sienna left already?""Yeah. She has a 9 o'clock with her lawyers, board members, and Wendy. You know... the scandal of the leaked article and something to do with her investors.""Wow... that's rough." Delilah shrugs. "I'll make breakfast." She says, leaving the room.As she reaches the door, she stops. "Sienna was wrong to hide Evans' setup from us. I am going to talk to her about it, Cass.""Just let i
