"Tell me more about yourself. All the things that your boyfriend should know, so if someone asks me anything. I'll be able to answer without a second thought," he said coolly, and she understood the assignment because she was too naive.

"I'm from a small town in Russia. I grew up there and completed college. I have an elder sister, Faina, who is married and lives with her husband in Bradford. My parents are the sweetest people. My father runs a small convenience store." She inhaled a quick breath because she was talking nonstop, and then continued.

"It was my dream to study at Grand Elite Academy, but my parents couldn't afford it, so I worked hard and scored the scholarship, thankfully. So, you can say I'm living one of my dreams. Apart from my background history, my current life is pretty boring," She chuckled lightly and continued staring at the table and mindlessly playing with the napkin.

"I study hard. If I get any spare time, you'll find me drowned in books at the library. I work a part-time job at a cafe. I go to church every Friday and hang out with friends on weekends sometimes," She smiled softly, recalling her friends.

"Scarlett and Darla are my neighbors at the dorms, and they're roommates. We three are good friends, and also my classmate Elena and my senior Archie have also become good friends of mine."

He clenched his jaw at the mention of Archie. He didn't like that guy at all. Though that dude hasn't even said anything to him, Issac was pissed at him for no f*cking reason.

"That's nice." He said, though that was typically boring, and yet the girl in front of him wasn't boring at all. He was listening to her soft voice so attentively until she had to mention that f*cking Archie's name.

"The only adventure in my life is you," She chuckled softly, and his heartbeat stuttered for a faint second.

That was a huge compliment, though. He was the only adventure in her boring life. Sounds excellent.

"Tell me about yourself. What do you like and dislike? Your favorite color, food, and everything," he said.

"I like to cook a lot and spend time with my family. I like to play with kids. My favorite color is black, the one I'm wearing, oh, we are twining. And I love food. Food is my first love..." She trailed off, noticing him peering at her with intense cognac brown eyes, which made it hard for her to maintain eye contact.

"That sums me up. Now, tell me about yourself. I know nothing about you. My friend Elena keeps asking me, and I've nothing to tell her," she said. Before he could utter a word, the waiters brought their order. They didn't order anything, so how come?

"This is the tasting menu, ma'am," The waiter said, taking her by surprise. "I thought you should taste everything and then order what you like the most," Issac said, and she was utterly impressed by his thoughtfulness.

Innessa tasted some of them, and they gave their orders.

"So, you were telling me about yourself," she said, peeking at him through her lashes.

Issac tilted his head, looking away. "There's nothing much to tell you. I don't have any siblings. My father is a businessman, and I'll be taking over his business in the future. My mother is the sweetest, and I live in a place near the academy with my two cousins. They are twins. The younger one is Maddox, and he annoys the f*ck out of me, while the elder one is Theodore. An absolute nerd. But I love them like my own brothers," he said.

"That's so lovely. I don't want to sound imposing or conservative, but it's just friendly advice. Cursing is not good," she said, and he chuckled.

Only if she knew the darkness in him. She'd be running for the hills, and here this little doll was trying to tell him that cursing was bad.

"I appreciate it. Will keep it in mind next time," He mused, and it brought a small smile to her lips.

"And your favorite color? Your hobbies?"

"Red and Ice blue." Like the red of blood and the shade of your mesmerizing eyes. He didn't say it out loud.

"Gym and training," He replied shortly, and the waiters arrived with their food.

They were about to pour wine for her, but she politely refused, saying she doesn't drink. They poured the drink for Issac while Innessa had juice.

"How would you drive later?" She asked when he sipped his wine.

"A few glasses don't get me drunk," He mused.

Innessa nodded. She wanted to tell him drinking wasn't good for her health, but she didn't want to offend him. He was the only one who had helped her so much, and she respected him for that.

The girl joined her hands and whispered her grace. He was absolutely clueless as to what she was doing, and it took him a couple of seconds for it to click. Once again, he was pulled into a spell as he watched her say the grace. Once done, she passed him a small smile and began to eat her food.

Issac dropped his gaze to his plate and chugged the whole drink down in one go as his throat burned. This girl was something else.

They had their meal silently. Then she had dessert. After the meal, the waiters cleared the table as Innessa waited for the bill so they could split it. He saw her counting money in her wallet as he frowned. What are you doing?"

"The bill-"

"Nonsense, Innessa. I'm the man here. I take care of it. You are supposed to enjoy yourself and don't worry about this," he said dismissively.

"No, I insist-"

"I'm the man. You're eligible to argue if you're a man, but you aren't thankfully, so no arguing," he said in a final tone as she smiled, thanking him.

Innessa glanced around, hoping to see Henry, but he wasn't anywhere in sight.

"What are you looking for?"

"Henry," She whispered.

Issac pulled to his feet as he got to her side and held out his hand for her.

"Let's dance, if he's here, he'd see it." He spoke.

Innessa blinked at his hand before she reluctantly placed her hand in his as he guided her to the open space and gently placed his hand on her waist, stepping closer. Innessa rested her hand on his chest as he began to move, and she carefully followed his lead. "I'm sorry, I don't know how to dance."

"It's okay. I've got you," He rasped as she gulped. He was too close; his hot breath caressed her forehead and eyebrow.

Innessa didn't dare look up. She kept her eyes fixed on his chest, but Issac wasn't having it.

"Look at me, Innessa." The way he said her name in that thick British accent had her eyes shoot up, and their eyes locked.

"You should look in the eyes of your partner while dancing," he said as if teaching her one of the dancing etiquettes.

She bobbed her head soundlessly.

There was no music. The breeze swept past them. His senses were occupied with her intoxicating gardenia scent. The most blissful scent he had ever smelled.

His hands itched to move. To explore. His body was burning with heat, yearning to step closer. To yank her closer so there was not a breath distance between their bodies.

"You've got the prettiest eyes I've ever seen," He rasped, and those icy glaciers widened before her lashes fluttered in a whiff of fluster as she looked away.

Issac couldn't look away. No matter how much he tried to. Her small hand felt so warm in his big one as he held her close.

He stepped closer, and her body instantly tensed when her chest brushed against his.

"Henry is watching us through the building to my left. I just spotted him. I want you to relax in my arms," he said, and her body slowly relaxed.

Issac inched down, his nose buried in her hair as he inhaled deeply, his eyes closed on their own as he exhaled a dreamy sigh.

Damn! She smelled so lovely.

He noticed a birthmark on her chest, which was a red mark in the shape of a rough crescent, and it was half visible through her neckline.

Alluring.

His eyes were fixed on her birthmark; he had to force his eyes away.

Issac pulled back enough to look into her eyes. He noticed that the lights had dimmed, and soft music played in the background.

He had instructed the waiters to leave once they were done with their work.

He could feel her tense like a board. It was obvious that the sweet little Innessa wasn't used to such proximity to the opposite gender.

She was avoiding his gaze, and it irked him. Placing her hand on his chest, he let his fingers linger on her jaw and cheek.

"Can I?" He asked. His eyes dropped to her juicy red lips as they parted. "Huh?" She stared at him, mystified.

His fingers threaded through her ear as he held the side of her face. His veiny hand was so big on her face. His thumb gently stroked her cheek, which was turning red with each passing second.

He jerked her closer, holding her waist more tightly as her soft body flushed against his hard one, earning a gasp from her.

"W... What are you do... doing?" She stammered shakily, trying to push him lightly, but he wouldn't budge.

"We had to kiss," He rasped. His eyes darkened as they lazed on her trembling lips.

His thumb lingered on her quivering petals; he pressed the rough pad of his thumb on her lips, feeling their plumpness.

"B... But I can't," She stuttered. trying to wriggle out of his hold, which was impossible.

"Henry is watching. This is our chance," He rasped.

His whole body was on f*cking fire. He met her big, icy blue eyes that were filled with fear and uncertainty.

"B... But..." Her chin quivered. Her eyes darted to the building, but Issac didn't let her. In one swift move, his hand snaked to her nape, fingers threading into her scalp as he pulled her closer, crushing his lips on hers in a hot, searing kiss.

Her breath hitched, and she froze altogether. Her eyes opened wide as saucers, feeling something wet licking her lips as he groaned.

His teeth clamped on the soft flesh of her bottom lip as he nibbled on it, earning a jolt from her as a tremor raked through her body, jolting her spine. Her eyes slammed shut tightly as she held his shirt in her fists, feeling him sucking her lips.

His tongue darted on her sweet lips for entrance, but the clueless girl remained frozen, shivering like a leaf.

His fingers wrapped around her silky locks, grabbing them in his fist as he tugged her head back, earning a startled gasp from her as her eyes shot open wide.

Taking advantage, Issac plunged his tongue into her mouth, slithering her tongue with his. Stroking and tasting her essence.

She whimpered when he began sucking her tongue as wetness dripped down the corner of her lips.

Tears brimmed in her eyes, and she couldn't breathe. Innocent mewls slipped through her lips when he sucked her lower lip and nibbled on the tender flesh.

She barely sucked in a gulp of breath as he chased her lips again with a feral need. His hold on her hair tightened to the point her neck was arched, and her face was to the sky with him hovering over her, devouring her mouth.

Innessa was fisting his shirt with one hand while with her free hand, she tried to loosen his hold, but it was of no use.

Issac grunted as he tilted her head for more access and to deepen the kiss.

She tasted sweet and raw. F*cking divine and delicious. He couldn't get enough. He had never tasted something as tempting as her. Doused in his haze, he didn't notice when she feebly tried to push him away.

He sucked on her tongue again, going deeper and making sinful noises as a tear streamed down her cheek.

She couldn't even move an inch. He was holding her so tightly that she couldn't resist, no matter how much she tried. Her legs gave out, and he was holding her weight in his arms.

His fingers dug into her waist, promising to leave marks as she clawed at his chest in her attempts to break the kiss.

But instead of stopping. Issac grabbed her hand and twisted her wrist behind her back, causing her chest to arch into him as a whimper left her lips, which he swallowed within the kiss.

He kissed her savagely and still needed more. So f*cking sweet. The feelings in his stomach were so f*cking foreign and wild. He couldn't even name them. He was so delirious in the moment of tasting the forbidden fruit that he didn't realize when her body slumped in his arms.

He broke the kiss with a suck on her lower lip and pulled back to find her unconscious. Her head was lolled back, those innocent eyes closed, her lashes drenched with unshed tears, and her lips were swollen, wet, and red, her cheeks flushed red with streaks of tears.

His eyes darted to the birthmark, and he was so f*cking tempted to devour it, but he refrained from doing so.

He gently carried her in his arms, walked over to the sofa, and laid her on it. Grabbing a chair, he sat near her and watched her like a hawk while his heart still drummed in his ears.

He swiped his thumb on his lower lip in a daze.

"What the f*ck just happened?" He rasped in disbelief.

What he felt in those moments was absolutely feral and vicious.

He had never lost control like this.

Never.

  • Tainted Whispers   30

The heavy, armored SUV rolled smoothly through the private gates of the secluded estate, the tires crunching over the pristine gravel. Serena’s hands were tightly clenched in her lap, her knuckles turning white from sheer anticipation. Her heart was beating a frantic rhythm against her ribs. For months, she was away from her sister. They do get to call and talk, but that was it. She wanted to visit her sooner, but things happened. But today, the heavy fog of anxiety was finally lifting.Sitting right beside her in the dim, tinted cabin was Victor. His massive frame leaned back against the leather seat, his icy blue eyes fixed on the window, his expression a mask of cold, unreadable stone. He looked every bit the brutal Pakhan who ruled the city with an iron fist, yet he was the one who had made this moment possible. The SUV came to a halt in front of a sprawling, elegant mansion nestled deep within the highly secured Moretti territory. The doors clicked open, and the moment Serena ste

The golden morning sun cut sharply through the sheer perimeter of the balcony curtains, slicing across the dark expanses of Victor’s master suite. Serena opened her eyes slowly, her mind hazy, heavy, and completely disoriented. The first thing she felt was the smooth, cool slip of silk against her bare thighs, the oversized black button-down shirt that belonged to her husband. The second thing she felt was a crushing, unyielding weight anchored heavily across her waist.A massive, calloused hand was splayed flat over her stomach, trapping her securely against a wall of solid, radiating muscle. The immediate spike of panic hit her, a hard, instinctual jolt that made her breath catch in her throat. She was in his bed. She was trapped in the lion’s den, surrounded by the heavy masculine scent of sandalwood, leather, and winter rain. Her heart started to hammer against her ribs, but as she stared at his muscular arm wrapped around her, the panic morphed into something entirely different.

The silence inside the master suite of the Volkov estate was absolute, broken only by the rhythmic, delicate rise and fall of the breath against his chest. Outside, a heavy summer rain beat a steady, muted rhythm against the reinforced glass windows, blurring the lights of the sprawling estate into distant, watery smudges. But inside the dark bedroom, the world had shrunk down to the heavy mattress, the scent of expensive sandalwood mixed with sweet vanilla, and the fragile girl curled securely against his side.Victor lay wide awake, his icy blue eyes fixed on the shadowed ceiling plaster above. He didn't move. He barely even breathed, hyper-aware of the small, warm weight of Serena pressed flat against his rigid torso. They had spent an hour in a brutal, breathtaking collision. He had kissed her until her resistance broke, until her stubborn defenses crumbled into liquid heat, and her soft, full lips were completely swollen and flushed a deep, bruised crimson. By the time the storm

The weight of Victor’s words hung in the damp air of the master bedroom, heavy, absolute, and terrifyingly logical. Serena stayed frozen against the cold wall, her wrists still pinned high above her head by his single, massive hand. Her chest heaved against his, the soaking wet silk of her nightgown translucent and cold against her skin, yet she was burning from the inside out.The realization that Victor hadn’t ordered the attack didn’t break her heart over Roberto’s betrayal. It couldn't. Her father and his men had never been kind to her; they had always been cruel, treating her like an object rather than a daughter. Roberto lying to her wasn't a shocking tragedy; it was just typical Moretti behavior. It simply means her father didn't want her to be civil with Victor. He didn't want peace. He wanted total, destructive chaos, and he had happily weaponized her trauma just to twist her mind against the Russians. And she thought maybe... just maybe because she was their blood, they won'

The heat in the indoor pool room had reached a boiling point. The water around them felt warm, but the raw, unadulterated desire burning between their bodies was completely scorching. Serena couldn’t move. She couldn’t think. Her small hands were still locked tightly around Victor’s neck, her fingers digging into his wet skin out of pure survival instinct. She could feel the rapid thudding of his heart against her ribs, matching the wild, frantic rhythm of her own.Victor didn't stop at that. The dark, possessive beast inside him had broken its chains completely, and he was done playing the role of the patient husband. With a low, ragged growl, he gripped her waist tightly and pushed her back against the smooth, tiled ledge of the pool. Before she could even gasp, Victor lifted her completely out of the water, setting her down on the cold edge. The contrast was immediate and shocking. The cool night air hit her wet silk nightgown, sending a violent shiver straight down her spine, whil

Her small hands were still locked tightly around Victor’s neck, her fingers digging into his wet skin. His massive frame completely trapped her; her legs wrapped around his waist out of pure survival instinct. The soaking wet silk of her nightgown was practically invisible now, sticking to her like a second skin, leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination.Every single line of her soft curves was crushed against the hard, rigid muscle of his bare chest. She could feel the rapid thudding of his heart against her ribs, matching the wild, erratic rhythm of her own.Victor stared down at her, his breathing heavy and ragged. The marble floors of the Volkov estate had never felt colder beneath Serena’s feet. After hours of scrubbing her skin in the bathroom, trying to wash away both the physical memory of Victor’s body and the invisible, toxic sludge of Roberto’s words, she felt completely hollow. The drive back to the estate was a blur of high-speed shadows and suffocating tension.Victor refused to let a single soul lay a hand on her. Innessa stepped out of her room as the door automatically locked. Her eyes darted to her neighbor, and it was Scarlett Walsh. "Hey," She chirped as soon as she saw Innessa. "Hey," Innessa greeted her with a soft smile. Innessa was wearing a beautiful sundress. Her hair was up in a ponytail, with

"So heavy ughh," Innessa groaned as she stepped into the dorm with two heavy boxes. As soon as she stepped inside, she placed them on the floor and sighed, dropping her weight down as she sprawled on the floor, breathing heavily while staring at the ceiling. After catching her breath, she pulled
