Innessa shook her head in denial as big fat tears brimmed her eyes. The girl was trembling like a leaf, her chin wobbling. The intensity of fear that coursed through her veins at what she just witnessed had her paralyzed in raw fear.

Issac prowled over to her causing her to stumble two steps back as an elderly man blocked his way holding his arms firmly.

"Calm down, young man," that person said as Issac kept glaring at Innessa, he jerked that man's hold away but that man grabbed him again.

"You need to calm down," the man said as Issac focused that vicious gaze on the man in front of him.

"Let go, sir." Isaac's voice was gruff and cold. From his peripheral vision, he saw Innessa taking another step back and he instantly knew what she was up to.

"Young man-" Issac grabbed that man's arms and pulled him aside freeing himself from his hold as Issac prowled over to the trembling Innessa.

She took another step back and her footing slipped. She was about to fall back but Issac seized her wrist and yanked her to him rather roughly causing her to crash against his chest. The collision was so sudden and harsh that it knocked the breath out of her.

Before she could retaliate or try to run away, he dragged her towards his car and pushed her inside the passenger's seat; slamming the door so harshly that she jumped in her seat. Issac got in the driver's seat and he closed the door shut, locking it.

He searched for something in the dashboard of his car and her heart shivered in terror when he pulled out a shiny black gun. He checked the bullets and was about to step out of the car when she grabbed his arm stopping him.

"No! Please!" She pleaded hysterically thinking he was about to kill Jasper. People were crowding Jasper. Someone could get hurt and Issac might go to jail.

Issac yanked his arm out of his grasp and glared at her so viciously that she scooted to the door and tried to open it wildly but it was child locked. Her eyes were fixed on his gun as he placed it on his lap. He nodded to God knows what, looking ominous.

Retrieving his phone, he clicked the picture of the commotion with the board of the cafe in the picture and sent it to someone. A second later he dialed someone and pressed the phone on his ear.

"I've sent you the picture, Falcon Street, he's a tall blond guy, bruised and bleeding on the street. Come and fetch him right now before the cops get involved. Yes, fine. Very well. No need to tell Victor. I'll tell him myself," Issac dropped the call, tossing his phone on his lap as Innessa watched him with wide horrified eyes. Her face was blanched in horror after hearing his conversation with someone on the phone.

Some people tried to stop him from leaving but Issac roared the car back and sped it down the road almost taking over the car they were about to crash into but God saved them.

He was driving at ridiculously fast speed, taking over the cars wildly through small spaces as she grabbed the seatbelt and put it on. She was whispering prayers in her head hoping for God to save her. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she glanced his way. Her eyes darting to his bloodied knuckles, she didn't even know if it was his blood or Jasper's.

The veins on his neck were popping out in rage, jaw clenched tightly as he glared at the road, the way his knuckles had turned white with the sheer force he was holding the wheel that she was scared for her life.

If they somehow escaped crashing tonight then he might kill her once they reached the penthouse. She didn't want to be alone with him there. God knows what he might do to her.

'Please, God. Save me,' she prayed from the bottom of her heart. She suddenly recalled what Jasper did as she wiped her lips and cheek roughly with the back of her hand.

"P... Please. C... Calm down," she said in a small stuttering voice, the girl shakily placed her hand on his arm to ease him but one vicious glare from him was enough for her to jerk her hand back.

"Issac, p... Please-"

"SHUT THE F*CK UP!" He boomed and she flinched back. Her heart thumped in her ears as her vision blurred with tears again and she had to blink several times to clear her vision.

She glanced out of the window. There were so many cars around them. Even if she tried to jump out now, she might end up getting hit by a car.

Innessa wanted to scream. She wanted to yell at him to stop and relax but she was too scared to even form a coherent word. Her eyes kept darting to the gun on his lap.

Her stomach churned when she noticed him pulling the car into the underground parking lot.

As soon as Issac unlocked the car, she didn't wait a single second as she tried to make a run for it. She barely ran a few steps when she screamed, with wide eyes she stared at the spot near her foot where he just shot. Innessa was now standing like an immobilized statue. Her breathing came in short pants as she slowly turned to face him.

Issac was aiming a gun at her. A murderous glint in his eyes. A huge ball of emotions was stuck in her throat and her tongue felt as if someone rubbed it with sandpaper. She hiccupped, wiping her tears quickly as he raised his free hand and beckoned her over with his fingers. While doing all of this not once he blinked or lowered his gun.

When Innessa didn't move, he removed the safety of the gun. The small noise echoed in the parking lot. Her ears were still ringing from the horrifying noise of the first shot.

"Come here," the calmness of his gruff voice was like an acid dipped dagger piercing through her ears. His calmness was just as sinister as his rage.

"Don't make me shoot you," the way he said those words so easily made her want to run just then and there.

Despite the pain aching her soul she walked over to him. Her trembling legs were working enough for her to walk over to him. As she got closer, she noticed droplets of blood splattered on the other side of his face and she felt nauseous and lightheaded.

"Get inside the elevator," he said pressing the button as the elevator opened and she stepped inside holding her breath. She knew she was walking to her doom. Issac got inside as the door closed. He dropped his hand that was holding the gun to his side, breathing deeply and closing his eyes as he faced the ceiling.

The elevator door opened and so did his eyes as he motioned her to get inside. Innessa pressed her thumb on the scanner with trembling hands as the door unlocked and they stepped inside.

She was expecting him to shoot her but instead, he disappeared into the kitchen. He drank some water and splashed the rest of the water on his head to cool down as he walked back into the hall now half-drenched. The water was icy cold and yet it didn't help him much to cool down. Issac grabbed a chair and sat on it right in front of her trembling frame as he rested his gun in his lap and finger-combed his wet hair back.

Those sharp cognac eyes peered at her like a vicious predator ready to tear her apart, his thick dark eyebrows scrunched together in an angry frown.

"Want to explain yourself?" His voice was calm as he leaned forward resting his elbows on his thighs, the tips of his fingers joined together as he tapped his foot on the marbled floor staring at her coldly.

Calculating.

Observing.

Innessa felt like she was in a court. If the trauma of getting harassed by Jasper wasn't enough, Issac wanted her to explain herself. What was he even thinking?

When he jumped on Jasper, all she wanted was for him to hug her and soothe her but the wild beast in him only scared her even more. She didn't say anything at that time because she didn't want to create a scene, and by the looks of it, if she had said anything Issac would've killed Jasper.

"HetriedtokissmebutIturnedawayathelastminute-" She was mumbling.

"Stop mumbling, Innessa." He rumbled lowly making her flinch as she swallowed thickly.

"H... He tried to k... kiss me a...and I dodged it. Then y... you came," She stammered with a lowered gaze gripping her knee-length skirt in her fists.

"Anything else?" His deep voice was laced with dark calmness which sent chills down her spine. The girl shook her head lightly.

This felt so wrong. She didn't even do anything and he was interrogating her like this.

"I... It's not what you s... saw, he was f... forceful," she said shakily and he nodded like the deadly grim reaper waiting to take her soul away.

"From where I can see. You both were kissing. Your hands were on your sides while he was all over you. You didn't stop him," he said in a low dark tone as tears brimmed her eyes and she shook her head.

"I... It's not like that-"

"Not like that? Now I understand why you were so adamant about keeping this job," he said and something in her chest constricted in pain.

"It all makes sense now. You stopped me from shooting that bastard because you were with him all this time behind my back and like a dumb idiot, I was there to pick you up from work every time," he growled lowly.

Her heart crushed into millions of small pieces at his accusation.

She was so hurt that not a single word was escaping her lips as she stared at him with sorrow-filled eyes.

Her silence was infuriating him as he got to his feet and prowled over to her. Holding his gun in his hand.

"This explains why you didn't want to marry me. Why didn't you like my touch? Maybe you have been cheating on me since we were dating. That 'no touching' before marriage was nothing but bullshit." He thundered, making her flinch back.

Innessa didn't look away. She kept staring into his red eyes which looked murderous. Issac looked deranged as a few of the wet strands covered his forehead.

"Tell me. What did you get for being such a whore? What does Jasper have which I didn't?-"

Innessa raised her hand to slap him but he grabbed her wrist mid-air stopping her from slapping him. His hold was so brutal that she winced, it felt like he'd crush her bone but she kept glaring at him with teary eyes.

Issac placed the barrel of his gun under her chin making her intake a sharp breath as he raised her face making her look him in the eyes.

"Did I hit a nerve, Ms. Laskin?" The way he called her by her former last name made her stare at him silently. Her chin wobbled as fear coursed through her veins. If he wanted to, he could shoot her right now and end her life.

"Tell me? All those times when you went to church. Was that all a facade?" He gritted jerking her chin up even more with his gun as she closed her eyes and hoped that he would just kill her.

"Open your eyes," he growled and her eyes flew open wide as she stared at him.

"S... shoot me," she whispered, her lips trembling as Issac narrowed his eyes at her.

"Don't f*cking play with me," he rumbled, squeezing her wrist so hard that a cry of pain tore through her lips. He let go of her hand only to notice a bruise forming on her wrist as she cradled her fragile wrist to her chest.

"You don't trust me. G... go ahead and shoot me," she said through quivering lips and staring into his eyes.

He shook his head not wanting to get affected by that broken look in her ice-blue eyes. How could he trust her anymore? He saw it with his own damned eyes.

"Do you think provoking me like this would make you innocent in my eyes? When I saw you whoring with that man-"

Innessa grabbed his hair and yanked at them pulling him down. "I'm not a whore!" She screamed while crying.

He groaned, tossing the gun away, he grabbed her wrists, squeezing painfully, making her cry out as she let go of his hair. Issac jerked her hands away as if he touched her any longer, he'd dirty his hands.

The girl watched him with parted lips as he raked his fingers through his hair glaring daggers at her.

"Or you did it because you wanted a divorce from me? Hah!" He let out a booming laugh of disbelief covering his eyes with his hand. He was laughing like a maniac.

"F*ck. I'm so f*cking stupid. I was lured by your fake innocence. I should've known," he grumbled, shaking his head.

"Don't you want to say anything?" He growled facing her causing her to jump in her place. Terrified. Broken. Shattered.

"Y... You called me a w...wh... whore," She stuttered, staring at his feet. She didn't want to look into his deranged eyes. They terrified her.

"That's because you f*cking cheated on me. What do you call cheaters huh? Is it something else in Russian?" He yelled, his voice broke a little as the girl hugged herself. Trembling.

"You don't t... trust m...me?" Her voice was a mere whisper but he heard her.

Despite all his efforts to stay f*cking cold. A crack appeared on his armor and just like that it slowly shattered as Issac dropped to his knees, tears followed soon, as he slammed his fists on the marbled floor covering it with blood as he screamed and screamed in agony because his heart was splitting apart.

Despite everything he had said to her. Despite breaking her so brutally, the girl couldn't see him like that. Innessa hobbled to him on her shaky legs as she crouched down and gently touched his shoulder and held his arm to stop him from hurting himself.

"Issac, plea-"

Her eyes widened and her breath got caught in her throat when Issac grabbed her throat and yanked her to him. He was so close. His red teary eyes glared daggers into her soul. He tightened his hold to the point she couldn't breathe.

"Get the f*ck out of my sight! And don't ever show me your face again if you don't want to die," he spat coldly at her face as another tear trickled down his cheek disappearing into his light stubble.

"I... I d... didn't c... cheat on you, Issac. I... I swear-"

He jerked her away roughly as if she was a pest making her fall back with force, her elbow taking the most of the blow as she yelped in pain.

"Get lost or I'll kill you!" He roared, making her cry out in fear as she pulled to her trembling feet.

With a broken soul, she left the penthouse. Issac stared at the bloodied floor as tears streamed down his cheeks.

He had never felt this pathetic in his life as he screamed. He roared and growled, screaming and screaming while punching the broken marble but nothing eased his pain away.

Issac felt like dying. He couldn't forget the scene he just saw tonight. It was ripping his soul apart.

The heavy, armored SUV rolled smoothly through the private gates of the secluded estate, the tires crunching over the pristine gravel. Serena’s hands were tightly clenched in her lap, her knuckles turning white from sheer anticipation. Her heart was beating a frantic rhythm against her ribs. For months, she was away from her sister. They do get to call and talk, but that was it. She wanted to visit her sooner, but things happened. But today, the heavy fog of anxiety was finally lifting.Sitting right beside her in the dim, tinted cabin was Victor. His massive frame leaned back against the leather seat, his icy blue eyes fixed on the window, his expression a mask of cold, unreadable stone. He looked every bit the brutal Pakhan who ruled the city with an iron fist, yet he was the one who had made this moment possible. The SUV came to a halt in front of a sprawling, elegant mansion nestled deep within the highly secured Moretti territory. The doors clicked open, and the moment Serena ste

The golden morning sun cut sharply through the sheer perimeter of the balcony curtains, slicing across the dark expanses of Victor’s master suite. Serena opened her eyes slowly, her mind hazy, heavy, and completely disoriented. The first thing she felt was the smooth, cool slip of silk against her bare thighs, the oversized black button-down shirt that belonged to her husband. The second thing she felt was a crushing, unyielding weight anchored heavily across her waist.A massive, calloused hand was splayed flat over her stomach, trapping her securely against a wall of solid, radiating muscle. The immediate spike of panic hit her, a hard, instinctual jolt that made her breath catch in her throat. She was in his bed. She was trapped in the lion’s den, surrounded by the heavy masculine scent of sandalwood, leather, and winter rain. Her heart started to hammer against her ribs, but as she stared at his muscular arm wrapped around her, the panic morphed into something entirely different.

The silence inside the master suite of the Volkov estate was absolute, broken only by the rhythmic, delicate rise and fall of the breath against his chest. Outside, a heavy summer rain beat a steady, muted rhythm against the reinforced glass windows, blurring the lights of the sprawling estate into distant, watery smudges. But inside the dark bedroom, the world had shrunk down to the heavy mattress, the scent of expensive sandalwood mixed with sweet vanilla, and the fragile girl curled securely against his side.Victor lay wide awake, his icy blue eyes fixed on the shadowed ceiling plaster above. He didn't move. He barely even breathed, hyper-aware of the small, warm weight of Serena pressed flat against his rigid torso. They had spent an hour in a brutal, breathtaking collision. He had kissed her until her resistance broke, until her stubborn defenses crumbled into liquid heat, and her soft, full lips were completely swollen and flushed a deep, bruised crimson. By the time the storm

The weight of Victor’s words hung in the damp air of the master bedroom, heavy, absolute, and terrifyingly logical. Serena stayed frozen against the cold wall, her wrists still pinned high above her head by his single, massive hand. Her chest heaved against his, the soaking wet silk of her nightgown translucent and cold against her skin, yet she was burning from the inside out.The realization that Victor hadn’t ordered the attack didn’t break her heart over Roberto’s betrayal. It couldn't. Her father and his men had never been kind to her; they had always been cruel, treating her like an object rather than a daughter. Roberto lying to her wasn't a shocking tragedy; it was just typical Moretti behavior. It simply means her father didn't want her to be civil with Victor. He didn't want peace. He wanted total, destructive chaos, and he had happily weaponized her trauma just to twist her mind against the Russians. And she thought maybe... just maybe because she was their blood, they won'

The heat in the indoor pool room had reached a boiling point. The water around them felt warm, but the raw, unadulterated desire burning between their bodies was completely scorching. Serena couldn’t move. She couldn’t think. Her small hands were still locked tightly around Victor’s neck, her fingers digging into his wet skin out of pure survival instinct. She could feel the rapid thudding of his heart against her ribs, matching the wild, frantic rhythm of her own.Victor didn't stop at that. The dark, possessive beast inside him had broken its chains completely, and he was done playing the role of the patient husband. With a low, ragged growl, he gripped her waist tightly and pushed her back against the smooth, tiled ledge of the pool. Before she could even gasp, Victor lifted her completely out of the water, setting her down on the cold edge. The contrast was immediate and shocking. The cool night air hit her wet silk nightgown, sending a violent shiver straight down her spine, whil

Her small hands were still locked tightly around Victor’s neck, her fingers digging into his wet skin. His massive frame completely trapped her; her legs wrapped around his waist out of pure survival instinct. The soaking wet silk of her nightgown was practically invisible now, sticking to her like a second skin, leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination.Every single line of her soft curves was crushed against the hard, rigid muscle of his bare chest. Issac was being super patient with her. He didn't want to scare her away and thought it would be better to give her some space to come around to the truth.
