Author’s Note

If you’ve made it this far, I want to take a moment to step away from the story.

Aurora’s pain is fictional, but the feelings behind it are very real for many people.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re carrying the weight of the world alone, like the pain will never end, or like everyone would be better off without you, I want you to know something:

You are not alone.

Your pain is real.

Your feelings are valid.

But they are not the end of your story.

Sometimes life becomes so overwhelming that tomorrow feels impossible. In those moments, please don’t face it alone.

Reach out to someone you trust—a friend, a family member, a teacher, a counselor, or another person who cares about you.

You don’t have to carry everything by yourself.

The world is a better place with you in it, even if you can’t see that right now.

Healing isn’t instant. Some days will be harder than others. But hard days don’t last forever, and asking for help is never a sign of weakness. It is one of the bravest things a person can do.

If Aurora can choose to take one step back from the edge, maybe today you can choose one small step too.

Drink some water.

Take a shower.

Open the curtains.

Text someone.

Stay.

Please stay.

There are people who haven’t met you yet, memories you haven’t made yet, and versions of yourself you haven’t had the chance to become.

Your story is still being written.

And I truly hope you’re here to see every chapter.

With love,

—The Author ❤️

  • Teach me, Mr Blackwood   What he wanted

_Damien’s POV_I sat quietly in the boardroom, feeling the gaze of everyone digging deep into me. Every seat was filled with my executives, directors, and legal counsel. And they all looked uncomfortable. Even I did.Reporters were scattered outside, hoping to get some tea. Every page of the newspaper. Every magazine cover. Every inch of the fucking internet carried my face. And they all said thr same things.BUSINESS TYCOON’S LATE WIFE HAD SECRET TWO-YEAR AFFAIRDNA TEST ROCKS BLACKWOOD FAMILYWHO IS ISABELLE’S REAL FATHER?I looked away from them. There had been a time when headlines would have infuriated me. When I could have demanded they get shut down and even paid to see it happen. But I just felt tired. Everything that was happening made me feel tired, and I couldn’t do any of it anymore. The chairman cleared his throat and I immediately looked at him.“Thank you for coming, Damien.” He said and I nodded my head. I already knew the reason for this meeting “We’ll get st

  • Teach me, Mr Blackwood   News

_Damien’s POV_The sound of something vibrating pulled me out of deep sleep and I groaned, opening my eyes. For a moment, everything was confusing. My eyes darted around the room before I could pin down what was making that horrible sound. My phone. It kept buzzing on my nightstand, thr vibrations bringing it closer and closer to the edge. Who the fuck was calling me by-I looked at the digital clock on the wall. It was six-thirty in the morning. Who the fuck was calling me by dic thirty?Groaning once more, I flipped over on my bed, covering my ears with my pillow as I tried to go back to bed. Keyword being tried. “For fucks sake.” I hissed, a vein popping on my forehead as I reached for the phone. The moment I looked at my screen, my brows scrunched up. I had tons of notifications, calls, texts, and even emails. What the fuck? My assistant’s call immediately popped up and I didn’t hesitate to answer. “What the fuck is happening?” I groaned, dragging a hand down my face.

  • Teach me, Mr Blackwood   Therapy

_Aurora’s POV_I woke up feeling like someone drove a tractor over me. My entire body was sore, my heart feeling even worse.I pushed myself up into a sitting position, running a hand through my messy hair. For a moment, my mind was blank. The sunlight streamed through my window, falling on the table close to the window. I tried to push myself up from the bed, but my arms gave out beneath me. I let out a sigh. What was this feeling? This emptiness I felt deep inside me. Each breath I took felt like someone was stabbing my lungs and I felt tears rush up my eyes once again.I was tired. I swear, I was so fucking tired. Sitting up on my bed once again, I wiped my eyes as I sniffed, my gaze falling on a card lying on my table. It was the therapy card Margaret had given to me. I had been carrying it around for days, I even almost threw it out one time.I was so certain I didn't need therapy. But thinking of it now, I probably did. I glanced at the card once more, bottom lip tuck

  • Teach me, Mr Blackwood   Revenge and Losses

_Damien’s POV_I took a sip from my whiskey before setting it down on the table, leaning back against my chair. It didn’t even burn as it used to.The house was quiet, Isabelle playing somewhere upstairs with the nanny. Each time I looked at her and saw the face of the man who used to be my best friend, I felt a pang in my chest. I had taken care of that child for eight years thinking she was my blood. I had loved her.Imagine the betrayal when I found out it wasn’t my blood that ran through my veins. And I knew it wasn’t her fault. I couldn’t bring myself to act any differently towards her, because she was still my baby girl. Letting out a sigh, I dragged my hand down my face.It had been a few weeks since I confronted Kingston and Aurora left. And for some reason, nothing seemed right to me. I haven’t spoken to Aurora since she left, I knew she wanted nothing to do with me. But I respected that. I had no choice but to do that. But that didn’t change the fact that I couldn

  • Teach me, Mr Blackwood   Father

_Aurora’s POV_ Mr. Kingston let out a deep sigh, dragging a hand down his face. “You’ve proved your point.” He stated and my lips turned into a frown. “My point?” I asked, deeply confused. What point does he think I was trying to make? Mr. Kingston let out another sigh like this was simply a waste of his time, and my frown deepened. “Come home Aurora.” He said tiredly and my lips trembled as I laughed. Mr. Kingston stared at me in confusion, not understanding what was funny enough for me to laugh. Tears filled my eyes as I laughed harder, my hand tapping against my thighs softly. And then I stopped. “Over my dead body.” I spat. My eyes were cold, filled with anger and loathing as I glared hard at the man who had fathered me. A few months ago, if he had come for me this way, I would have been over the moon. But that part of me that wanted him to notice, was dead now. It was dead and long buried. The room was filled with silence, the only thing h

  • Teach me, Mr Blackwood   Mr. Kingston

_Aurora’s POV_It had been a few days since after the panic attack, and I was back at work. Margaret had asked me to take some time off to relax. And when I showed up this morning, she acted upset. I said I needed to take more days off, but I couldn’t afford to do that. I had moved to a different part of town, and I didn’t know anybody here yet. Staying indoors was going to drive me crazier than I already was. “Are you okay?” Margaret asked for what seemed to be the tenth time this morning and I turned to look at her, a soft smile on my lips. The concern on her face was able to make my heart soften. She didn’t have to be this concerned about me.We hadn’t known each other for that long. “Yes, I am,” I answered truthfully, hoping she would stop worrying. Sometimes, I wished she would stop asking like I was going to break at any second of the day. I honestly felt better than I did before. I clipped another rose stem with my pruning shears, my tongue stuck out of my mouth in an
