_Aurora’s POV_

They moved us without warning.

One minute the room was heavy with silence, the next the door burst open and everything shifted into motion so fast it felt unreal. Orders were barked. Names weren’t used. Hands grabbed, pulled, pushed.

No one asked questions.

No one dared.

I barely had time to sit up properly before someone yanked me down from the bunk. Pain shot through my leg the moment my weight hit the floor, sharp enough to blur my vision for a second.

“Move.”

I stumbled forwa

  • Teach me, Mr Blackwood   Aurora

_Damien’s POV_Isabelle isn't supposed to be here. That thought kept circling my head from the moment I saw her sitting outside with her legs swinging. She wore a pale yellow dress with tiny daisies stitched into it. And she held her teddy bear tightly while she hummed to herself. My heart completely broke just by looking at her. She should have been in school, or doing something else. Instead of being here, because I had let revenge consume me. And Kingston couldn’t get over his pride. Her face lit up the moment she saw me, and she jumped off the bench and ran straight to me. I caught her effortlessly, lifting her into my arms. “Oh, my baby.” I gasped, holding her tightly to me. The familiar scent of strawberry shampoo filled my lungs. And for the first time since waking up that morning, I could breathe.I had my baby in my arms and my lungs cleared up. Everything felt better now. I felt better now. “Hi my baby,” I smiled as she wrapped her tiny arms around my neck. “Yo

  • Teach me, Mr Blackwood   Family matters

_Damien’s POV_The question caught me off guard for some reason. And a smile found my lips before I realized it.“She’s stubborn.” I said and Amelie smiled.“In what way?” she asked, and I couldn't help but remember when my daughter was acting like herself. “Like when she decides she wants pancakes. Or when she wants me to read a book for her.” “What type of pancakes?” Amelie asked and I looked at her.“The dinosaur shaped ones. I made them once and since then it's all she has ever wanted.” Amelie laughed but proceeded to scribble something on her book.I turned around to check if I'd see Isabelle from where I sat, but I couldn't. “What else?” Amelie asked and I turned back to her.I leaned back into my seat. “She sings badly,” I answered, shaking my head at the imaginary tune of my baby thinking she could sing so very well. “What does she sing?” “Anything.”“I once caught her singing the alphabet song to the fish in our pond because she thought they looked bored.”Amelia laug

  • Teach me, Mr Blackwood   Your daughter

_Damien’s POV_Seeing a child psychologist was harder than people thought.I looked down at Isabelle as we walked into the building, her tiny hands wrapped between my two fingers. She swung our joined hands back and forth as though today was just another day. God. I couldn’t risk losing my daughter no matter what.“Daddy?” She called, looking around with a confused look on her face. “Hm?”“Are we at the doctor’s?” Her question came off as innocent and I forced a smile on my face. “Kind of,” I answered. She looked around once again, and then looked at me. “But I’m not sick.” My chest constricted. I forced my mouth to move, forcing the words out. “I know.” “Rhen why are we here?” She asked again. How was I supposed to explain this to an eight-year-old?How was I supposed to tell her that currently she needed strangers to tell her what was best for her? I crouched low until we were at the same level. “Someone just wants to talk to you,” I said and she blinked in confusion.“

  • Teach me, Mr Blackwood   See you in court

_Damien’s POV_I hate courtrooms. That was the only thought running through my head as I sat in silence, Jonathan reading through his papers beside me. I had sat in countless boardrooms throughout my life. I have negotiated billion-dollar acquisitions. I have settled lawsuits and won cases that determined the future of my company. But none of the courtrooms I've been in has ever made my palms sweat the way this courtroom did. Because this was about my daughter. The one thing I couldn’t bring myself to lose. I could lose money. Ot even my business. But Isabelle was worth more than any of these was. Jonathan adjusted the cuff of his ai ittt before he leaned closer to me. I turned to look at him. “Remember. He murmured. “No matter what Kingston says, don't react.” No matter what Kingston said..That was going to be easier said than done. Jonathan seemed to know what I was thinking and he sighed. “He would want a reaction.” He said and I nodded my head.“I know.” I knew how

  • Teach me, Mr Blackwood   War

_Damien’s POV_The office door dlmmed shut behind me and for a moment I just stood there. My hand was still wrapped around the handle, my knuckles white from how tightly I was gripping it. I heard the sound of glass smashing from inside the office, and then I walked. If I stayed another second here, I was going to kill him. I didn't care if I did life, as long as Kingston was dead. Nothing would bring me more joy than seeing him bloodied and unalive. His words echoed inside my head with every step I took. No matter how hard I tried to ignore it. No matter how hard I tried to forget the words he had said.“You will learn what it feels like to lose a child.” I clenched my jaw so hard it hurt. He wouldn't. He couldn't do that. There’s no way he would drag Isabelle into this. Not after everything that has happened. But knowing the type of person he was. He didn’t care about anyone that wasnt himself. By the time I reached the elevator, my breathing had become uneven. I pull

  • Teach me, Mr Blackwood   Losing a daughter

_Damien’s POV_I arrived at Kingston’s office after receiving his message to meet here. It had taken a lot for me to call him, but I needed answers. I needed to know who had leaked everything to the press. It happened so fast, it all pointed back to one man. When I got to his office, Kingston was standing by the window. He had his back to me, a cup of whiskey in his hand as he stared out the window. After a few seconds of silence, he slowly turned around. The look of hostility on his face almost startled me. How did we end up like this? I watched as he slowly walked back to his chair, sitting with his legs crossed on the table. His eyes were pinned on me, the whiskey glass still in his hands. Neither of us spoke to the other. I looked at the spot opposite his table where a chair should be, and I almost laughed. He had taken off the chair there because he wanted me to stand. He wanted to show some sort of superiority over me.After everything that happened…Well, good thin
