ログインLUCIAN POV
"Do you want to run to Moonshade Manor and stop your mother?" Raze Blackclaw asks me. He stands by the big wooden desk. His eyes look big, and he waits for me to talk.
"No," I tell him. I make my voice very flat. "She is just a weak she-wolf. I do not care about her."
I take the white folder with the girl's pictures, and I throw it at his chest. Raze catches it fast.
"Throw that trash away," I say.
"Yes, Alpha King," Raze says. He looks at my angry face and walks out of the Alpha Throne Chamber very quietly.
I sit back in my big chair. I try to make my brain think about the Lycan Alpha Dominion work. I have many packed things to fix.
Knock! Knock!
"Come inside," I shout.
The door opens, and Alaric Wolfsbane walks in. He has the big papers in his hand.
"Alpha King, Selene Corvinus put her name on the paper," Alaric says. He drops the book of papers right on my desk. "She did not fight. She just wrote her name."
I stop moving. My ears go up.
"She did not cry or scream for resources?" I ask.
"No," Alaric says. "She was very quiet."
My mother, Amelia Lycan, made me marry this girl three years ago. She wanted the Grand Wolf Assembly to see me with a wife because my old grandmother was very sick and wanted to see me happy. Now my grandmother is big and strong again. I do not need a strange she-wolf in my pack keep.
I do not know anything about Selene Corvinus. I do not even know what her voice sounds like. But I know her father, Markus Corvinus, took fifty million pack resources from us to fix his small pack. I thought she would beg for more food and gold today.
I look down at the paper. I see her name written in small, neat letters. Selene Corvinus.
"Wait," I say. I stand up fast. My chair slides back. "Her name is Selene Corvinus?"
"Yes, Alpha King," Alaric says. He looks confused. "That is your wife's name."
My brain goes boom. I think about what Raze told me two minutes ago. The girl from the Moon Eclipse Lodge Chamber last night was named Selene Corvinus. The girl who does not give me the bad skin bumps is my wife.
"Give me that paper back!" I yell at Alaric. My claws want to come out.
Alaric gasps. I grab the paper and tear it in half.
"The break is stopped," I bark.
"But Alpha—" Alaric starts to say.
"Raze!" I scream.
The door flies open, and Raze Blackclaw runs inside. "Yes, Alpha King?"
"Get the Territory Riders ready," I say. "We are going to Moonshade Manor right now."
SELENE POV
"Are you going to sit on that bed all day, Selene?"
I jump up when I hear the loud voice. I am inside my small room at the Mooncrest Artisan Guild. I came here to hide after I left the big manor.
"I am trying to rest, Tanis Moonshade," I say to my friend. But Tanis is not there. It is just my phone making a big noise on the table.
I look at the screen. It is a call from Corvinus Manor. My bad, father is calling me.
I do not want to talk to him. He only calls when he wants to yell. But the phone keeps ringing, ringing, and will not stop.
"What do you want?" I ask when I finally press the button.
"Where are you hiding, you bad pup? Get your feet back to the pack house right now!" Markus Corvinus screams into my ear. He sounds like a wild monster.
I hold the phone far away from my head. "Why are you angry?"
"Why am I angry? You broke the bond with the Lycan Bloodmoon Pack! You threw away our big connection!" Markus yells so loud that my ears hurt. "I give you one hour! If you are not here, you will be sorry!"
"I have pack work to do this afternoon," I tell him. I make my voice hard.
"Do not play games with me! If you care about your mother, Elena Corvinus, you will run home fast!" Markus barks. Then the phone goes dead.
I look at the black screen. My eyes feel wet. He always uses my mother to make me do bad things. He knows she is my soft spot.
My mother is a very sweet she-wolf. She gave everything to the Corvinus Moonfang Pack. But when I was five years old, my father brought a false lady named Viktorina Corvinus into our house. She brought her own pup, Sonja Corvinus, too.
My mother did not fight. She let him have his new family, and she moved to a small hut just to keep me safe. But they still hurt her.
Three years ago, my mother got very sick. She was going to die because we had no healing herbs or resources. Markus and Viktorina told me they would only give me the healing resources if I married the Supreme Alpha King, who was away across the sea. They took fifty million resources from his pack and left my mother in a small room.
I squeeze my hands into tight balls. My family is not a real family. They are like mean rogue wolves who want to eat my meat and leave only my dry bones.
The fake projection of myself laughed, stepping closer. "Then let me keep him warm while you're away. If you want your Alpha King back, come try and take him."Then came the slap—the only real part of the entire memory—before Seline ran away covered in blood.I watched the glowing display in the middle of Crescent Hall, my blood running cold. The dubbing was seamless. The location was exact, but the words had been completely replaced with a dirty, treacherous lie.The comments flooding the pack's communication links were lethal. An Omega artisan trying to seduce the Supreme Alpha King? I stood in the corner of the changing room within the Mooncrest Artisan Guild, my heart heavy. I had searched every inch of the territory for the small, white furred creature that had become my only comfort in this cold place. Finally, I spotted him. He was curled up on a piece of hide.He whimpered, his ears flattening as he looked up at me with wide, fearful eyes.I knelt down, my hand trembling as I stroked his soft head. "Were you trying to protect me from her? You can't do that. You can't afford to cross Seline Bloodmoon."Before I could say more, the pack artisan rushed in, her breath coming in short bursts. "Selene, the High Elder wants the ceremonial robes shifted immediately. Since Seline Bloodmoon is refusing to scent-train today, her place on the pavilion goes to the second-rank bride candidate, Coco. Get her fitted now."The rumors around the Citadel were true, then. The Grand Wolf Assembly was forcing the Alpha Lords to rewrite the succession schedule to speed up the sele
We sat opposite each other in a private, fire-lit chamber, the scent of burning pine surrounding us."Will you be returning to the Lycan Dominion Citadel tonight?" I asked, watching his large hands slice through a portion of wild meat.I knew the Alpha Council Lords were demanding his presence to settle the border disputes, so I wondered how he could afford to linger here."There is a territorial inspection taking place in the western ridge," he rumbled, his golden eyes locking onto mine with a heavy, possessive weight. "But my wolf only cares about ensuring no one else attempts to leave his mate in the dark."My chest tightened with a sweet, aching warmth, and I quickly looked down at my plate to hide my blushing cheeks.Beta Commander Raze Blackclaw stood silently by the door, his jaw twitching as he kept his thoughts to himself. There is no inspection at all; the King literally abandoned a grand summit just to sleep in these woods with her.Shifting the silence, I pointed to the st
Seline scanned the clearing on the edge of the Whispering Moon Woods, her nostrils flaring as she looked for my scent. Failing to spot me, she turned to her handmaiden and hissed, "Find Selene. After spending the entire night shivering in the freezing wilderness, her wolf must be completely broken and she probably looks pathetic. Use your scrying stone to capture a vision of her face the moment you spot her!""Right away, Lady Seline," the handmaiden whispered, scurrying off toward the edge of the ancient stone ruins.A short while later, she hurried back to Seline's side, her ears pinned back in confusion. "I checked every single pavilion, Lady Seline. The stray is nowhere to be found. Do you think her wolf dragged herself back to the lodge on foot? It is only a three-league run through the mountains. She wouldn't be foolish enough to freeze out there all night, right?"Before Seline could reply, Erika Nightfang and Anna marched into the pavilion, their scents radiating pure hostilit
The morning mist clung to the valleys of the Darkmoon Territory, but the flurry of activity at the filming ruins had already commenced."I cannot believe we secured Ethan Sellers for the role of the First Lycan King," Anna whispered, her voice filled with excitement as she arranged a tray of silver hairpieces. The male lead of our chronicle was indeed the most sought-after warrior-actor of the season, possessing sharp, upturned golden eyes and a flawless, commanding posture, while the second female lead was played by Coco Lynch, a lesser-known she-wolf from a mid-tier vassal pack.It was my first time managing the ceremonial aesthetics for so many high-status wolves, and during our brief breaks, Anna and I would sit near the clearing to watch the director run through the battle sequences.Once the evening horn sounded, signalling the end of the day's trials, I had to carefully brush and hang the delicate, runic-embroidered robes Seline Bloodmoon wore to ensure the enchanted threads di
"Didn’t you say you’d mind-link me immediately if the Moonfang Pack came scratching at your door?"Lucian leaned over me in the dimness of the carriage, his golden eyes burning with a terrifying, predatory fire.My breath hitched in my throat as I stared up at him. I had never seen him lose his cool like this—not since the night rogue wolves cornered me on the Darkmoon border. He was always the cold, untouchable King of the Bloodmoon Throne, but the moment my safety was threatened, his beast took absolute control.A small, breathless smile touched my lips as I realized how deeply my scent affected him. It felt intoxicating to have the most powerful Alpha in the land completely unhinged over my survival.Lucian’s jaw clenched, a low rumble vibrating in his chest. "What are you smiling at, Selene? My wolf is practically clawing to rip this territory apart!""Then let him," I whispered. I reached up, locking my arms around his thick neck and pulling him down to seal his growl with my lip
