The Betrayal

It was dark again when I woke up. The pain that coursed through me was unlike any other. I instinctively traced my fingers across my neck, resting them on the part Alpha Henry had bitten.

"He marked me as his mate?!" I whispered to myself as I sat on my knees, the coldness emanating from the floors and the enclosed walls, made my body weak.

There was a moist feeling between my legs that made the inside feel very sticky. I shifted and slowly reached down, raising my clothes to reveal my inner thighs but there was nothing much that I could see save for pitch black.

The only way to know what was down there was to smell it. Carefully, I rubbed my fingers against my inner thighs, bringing them up slowly to my nose to inhale the scent, and the metallic smell of blood hit me.

My blood went cold. The Alpha hadn't forced himself on him, had he?!

The walls felt as though they were closing in on me.

It all made sense to me now. What Luna Chrysantha had said about me bearing the Alpha's pups came crashing down on me like a torrent.

"Dear goddess, I need to leave this place now!" I struggled to get up to my feet—using my hands as a guide to see what was in front of me.

My heart palpitated when I finally found the door's knob after minutes of searching. Slowly, I twisted the knob.

It was.....unlocked?!

The beating inside my chest increased.

What the hell were these people's intentions for me? They couldn't have thrown me in here only to keep the door unlocked.

But I knew I had to act fast. My heart thundered as my bare foot slapped against the cold stone floors of the dungeon's passage.

The freedom I felt after I stepped out was intoxicating, and I could taste it with every frantic breath.

I darted through a narrow corridor, desperate to find the exit. Instead, I stumbled into a vast chamber filled with golden Torchlight.

The heavy doors creaked as I pushed them open. I was wary of its occupancy until I'd opened them completely and the voices inside fell silent.

My stomach dropped like a stone, and my legs turned into jelly beneath me, sending me crashing onto the floor in a helpless heap.

There was a high council sitting in a semi-circle, and at the head of the chamber sat Luna Chrysantha. She was draped in silks of midnight blue. Her eyes were cold and they looked like venomous emeralds—locking onto me with a fury that she couldn't hide.

And by her side sat Alpha Henry. His face broke into a devilish grin the moment he saw. I'd never wished for death all my life more than I wished for it now.

"Elara!" Chrysantha's voice cut through the air like a knife. "How fitting of you to stumble upon your own death sentence."

The blood from my face had drained.

One of the elders slammed his staff into the floor, "She is already carrying the Alpha's seeds, I don't see how her existence will threaten the unity of the pack!"

His words rang in my ear like a bell. I was carrying the Alpha's children?

I held my stomach instinctively and went to my knees. My lips parted, trembling.

"Your majesty, please. I have done nothing to deserve this kind of life...."

"I'm just an orphaned omega struggling to make ends meet. I will never...."

"Enough!" Chrysantha thundered, silencing me.

"Do you think your womb gives you power?!" She asked me, but I had no idea what she was talking about.

From the previous events that had happened, I could only deduce that I had been kidnapped against my will to bear pups for the alpha because it was rumored that Luna Chrysantha was barren.

But why choose me... Of all the other females in the pack, I am the most unworthy. I don't even have my wolf yet, which makes me different from the pack.

From the corner of my eye, I saw Chrysantha place her arm on Alpha Henry's, and with a smile on her face, she let out, "If you love your Luna and you truly love your pack, you will prove it. End her, Henry. " With her elongated claw pointed at me.

My eyes widened in shock. 'Oh moon goddess, I can't die this way. Why has my life been filled with only misfortune?'

The Alpha's jaw tightened and slowly, he rose from his throne and began walking towards me.

I stumbled back, trying to get away. This cannot be the end for me.

"Your majesty, I beg of you....do..do..do not kill me!" I cried out, my face wet with tears and sweat.

He had closed the distance between us and holding my chin firmly. Our eyes locked.

His lips were moving but I couldn't make out any words of what he was saying.

"Chrysantha doesn't know it but it was my sole decision to pick you to carry my pups." He started, caressing my wet jaw with his thumb.

Even though I knew Alpha Henry was going to kill me, the look in his eyes said something different. When his fingers traced the lines across my chin, a spark ignited inside me, heat flooding in between my legs.

What was happening to me? Why would I crave him now when every moment could be my last?!

Was it madness that made me inch closer, longing for the feel of his lips on mine? Was it the mating mark he had etched deep into my neck ?... No, it couldn't be; I had no wolf, marking me as a mate would be impossible.

Yet, something inside me was drawn to him, like he was all I needed to survive. My voice trembled as I whispered to him, "Please don't kill me."

As soon as those words departed my lips, another smile spread across his face.

"It's Chrysantha's wish that I get rid of all my prospective mates." He whispered back and revealed his sharp index claw to me.

He traced it slightly and rested it just above my heart. I whimpered when suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my heart and everything went pitch black.

Crysantha was able to teleport us to this place using her black magic. We'd laid the kids at a corner while we paced, hoping to figure out what to do next."I can bet that thoes monsters are tearing my pack off!"I growled, anger bursting through me."They're pathetic!""And Saleen wants Elara as soon as possible. • The Alpha Who Executed His Luna    The moon goddess couldn't stop this...

Henry’s POVThe fighting intensified the deeper as we pushed into the palace. Claws meeting steel and flesh in brutal symphony. I took down two more guards, joy welling inside of me as I watched their bodies crumpling as I barreled forward. Elara stayed right with me, her silver power cracking like thunder whenever she struck. She looked every bit the Luna I've come to know her to be. Fierce, unstoppable, driven by a mother’s love that terrified even me.Eddy and his warriors slammed into the fray from the left corridor, fresh howls boosting our momentum. “We’ve got your back!” he shouted, tearing through the defenders. His men formed a solid wall beside us, pushing the enemy back yard by yard. Not long after, Ethan arrived with his pack. They announced their arrival by a thunderous charge that shook the halls. “For the pups!” Ethan roared, his Luna fighting fiercely at his side. Henry’s POVThe phone felt like fire in my palm. Damion’s smug voice had barely finished when something inside me snapped. That thing was pure rage, and it flooded every vein in me. Our babies, the ones we had fought wars for, the reason Elara kept breathing through all the pain and betrayal. And this bastard thought he could use them as leverage?I pressed the phone tighter to my ear, my voice dropping into a low, deadly growl that vibrated through my chest.“Damion, you listen to me and you listen good. If you so much as lay a single finger on my children, I will hunt you to the ends of this earth. I will skin you alive, inch by inch, while you beg for the death you don’t deserve. I’ll make sure every scream you let out echoes in your nightmares for whatever short time you have left. You think hiding behind my mate’s stolen power makes you strong? You’re nothing but a coward who preys on innocents. Touch them, and I swear by the Moon Goddess and every ancestor watching, your end wi

They were my life, my everything and now I can't find them?Nah! "I...I was in my room, only for me to come check at them in the middle of the night like I always did, but he wasn't there."She cried.I crouched to my knees.Tears blurring me the more. Henry had quickly rushed beside me, crouching behind me too and holding my back."Hey...hey...we'll find them. We can tell who's work it is, isn't it? It can only be them. Thoes Lunatics with yo

  • The Alpha Who Executed His Luna    The nightmare

Henry’s POVThe back room of the old safe house smelled like dust and old wood. We had gathered ten of them, five Alphas and their Lunas. The table was small, forcing everyone to sit close. Tension sat thick in the air and everyone set a straight face, waiting for the meeting to start. Elara stood right beside me, her shoulder brushing mine every time she shifted. I could feel how tired she was, but she held her chin high.I cleared my throat and started. “We can’t let Damion keep Elara’s power. Him possessing it is too dangerous. He’s already using it like it belongs to him. So what I suggest we do is we trap him, and force him to return what he stole.”Alpha Jason nodded first, his big hands clenched on the table. “He’s turning the powers into his personal assets. His two ally packs are still with him. Fear is holding them. We visit those packs first. Talk sense into them. Bring them back to the Moon Goddess before we strike Damion.”His Luna, Mira, leaned forward, eyes sharp. “And

Damion’s POVI lay there, still catching my breath, as Chrysantha’s body was warm against mine, the sheets were tangled around us. And for a moment everything felt quiet. She shifted, propping herself up on one elbow. That familiar wicked glint was back in her eyes.“I found the perfect thing that will make that whore crawl back to you,” she said, voice low. “And you won’t believe how far I went to find this information.”I turned my head to look at her. “What is it?”She grinned, slow and satisfied. “I paid heavily to one of my informants.” She said and I raised my head slightly, interest cutting through the tiredness in my body. “Tell me.”“Those cursed kids of theirs.”I frowned. “Elara left with her kids and that sly lady called Anna. No one knows where they are.”Chrysantha’s evil smirk grew wider.“No one you say?"A wicked laugh broke off her lips.Someone does. And that’s me.”She leaned closer, her breath brushing my ear as she whispered, “They are in Ontario.”My eyes glowe
