ELENA'S POV

Every step I took deeper into the woods felt like a test. The golden bond was shattered, but the silver ring in my palm kept pulsing. It sent a steady stream of dark, obsidian energy into my body, stopping the pain.

For nineteen years, the Bloodmoon pack doctors forced me to drink a bitter medicine every single morning.

"To stabilize your weak health, Elena," Alpha Richard, Kaelen’s father, used to tell me with a fake smile.

A bitter laugh escaped my throat. They hadn't been treating me. They had been poisoning me. The medicine contained silver-ash, a powerful magic suppressor. They deliberately crippled my inner wolf from childhood so I would never challenge their stolen throne.

Suddenly, a sharp twig snapped to my left.

I froze. My inner wolf let out a defensive growl. My cheap dress was torn, my feet were bleeding, and I didn't even have a knife to defend myself.

"Well, look what the storm dragged in," a mocking voice called out.

A lean, heavily scarred wolf warrior dropped from a tree branch, landing right in front of me. He wore rough leather armor, and a curved knife hung from his belt. His eyes glowed yellow in the dark. He looked at my mud-covered face and my torn white dress.

Two more figures stepped out from the bushes behind me, cutting off my escape. One was a tall woman with sharp tattoos on her face and a heavy mace on her back. The other was a younger male holding a loaded crossbow.

Rogues. They were the lawless outcasts who survived on violence in the neutral territories.

"An omega," the scarred leader murmured, stepping closer. He sniffed the air and smirked. "And she smells like a fresh royal rejection. Alpha King Kaelen’s scent is practically dripping off her. She’s just a discarded toy thrown out with the trash."

"I am not a threat to you," I said. My voice was raspy, but it was steady. I didn't whimper. "I was banished by the Bloodmoon King. I am only passing through."

"We don't care about your story, little rat," the tattooed woman said. "An unmarked omega is worth a lot of money. You will either become a slave in the mining camps, or we will kill you right here. Get on your knees."

The leader reached out a dirty, calloused hand to grab my dress.

In that exact moment, a violent heat exploded from the silver ring in my fist. The dark energy shot through my body like lightning.

My inner wolf roared. She tore through the remaining silver-ash suppressors in my blood. A massive, invisible shockwave of pure alpha authority exploded outward from my body.

The wind violently whipped through the trees. The heavy rain literally bent outward around me.

The younger rogue gasped, dropping his crossbow into the mud because his hands were shaking so badly. The tattooed woman dropped heavily to her knees, clutching her throat as the intense atmospheric pressure slammed into her shoulders.

The scarred leader stumbled backward. His cocky smirk vanished, replaced by pure terror. He stared at my right hand, which was now glowing with a smoky silver light.

"That... that aura," the leader stammered, his teeth chattering. "The Eclipse Crest. That's impossible. That bloodline was wiped out a century ago!"

"Then you were lied to," I whispered.

My voice carried a strange, layered echo—the combined sound of my human voice and my awakening wolf. My eyes, which had always been a dull gray, now burned with a brilliant silver light.

The leader's instinct to survive took over. With trembling limbs, he dropped to both knees in the mud. He bowed his head until his forehead touched the wet leaves. It was a gesture of absolute submission.

Seeing this, the other two rogues quickly threw themselves to the ground, shaking in fear.

"Forgive us, My Luna," the leader breathed. "We did not know. The outcasts have waited a hundred years for the return of the true blood. We are yours to command."

I stood over them in the pouring rain, feeling the fire in my chest settle into a calm, lethal power.

"Stand up," I commanded. "Take me to your Alpha King Nikolai. We have an empire to plan."

  • The Alpha Who Rejected Me   CHAPTER 81: THE MOTHER’S DECREE

ELENA’S POV The figure standing atop the blood-stained obsidian dais did not cast a shadow, but the ancient frequency radiating from her form made the breath lock tightly inside my throat. "Mother," the word tore from my lips, a fragile whisper that dissolved instantly into the freezing air of the vault. The apparition did not move her eyes away from my face. Her elegant, unyielding features were exactly as they had been on the night of the great purge years ago—unmarked by the scullery grease, the broken bones, and the systematic silver-ash poisoning King Richard had used to rot my childhood. She stood draped in the heavy black fur cloak of the old court, her hands resting loosely over the silver runes of the sacrificial table where her physical life force had been broken. Elena... her baseline isn't a ghost, Kaelen’s mental voice scratched against my temples, the permanent, quicksilver-infused frequency trembling with a primitive dread. It’s an echo of the core. The ancestral s

  • The Alpha Who Rejected Me   CHAPTER 80: THE WALL OF MURALS

ELENA’S POV The blinding starlight flaring from the base of the obsidian altar sliced through the ancient, heavy shadows like a blade. I stood paralyzed on the first step of the dais, my chest heaving against the tight linen wraps. The air in this tomb was thick with the scent of dried lavender and old copper blood—the exact frequency my shadow wolf had kept locked in the darkest corners of her memory for five long years. My silver eyes tracked the silver runes glowing along the stone, their uncorrupted light reflecting off the gray dust on my boots. This was where she died. This was the exact stone where King Richard had broken my lineage to seal his stolen empire. Elena... look at the perimeter walls, Kaelen’s mental voice cut through the localized silence behind my eyelids, his permanent frequency tight with a sudden, primitive shock. I forced my gaze away from the sacrificial table, turning my face toward the dark expanse of the outer granite vault. The blinding starlight eru

  • The Alpha Who Rejected Me   CHAPTER 79: THE DESCENT INTO THE VOID

ELENA’S POV The sensation of falling through the subterranean underbelly of the mountain didn’t feel like a standard descent. The air in the shaft was a freezing, screaming vacuum that tore the breath straight out of my throat, but the physical physics of the chasm were entirely overridden by the violet current pulsing beneath my skin. With every ten feet of dark air I cleared, a sharp, mirror-image spike of agony flared across my chest. The mirror-wound was weeping a steady, hot stream of gold-tinted crimson that flew upward into the rushing wind, a physical ledger of the distance closing between Kaelen and me. Hold on, my inner shadow wolf roared within the dark expanse of my mind. The absorbed Eclipse Core was flaring aggressively, its unfamiliar, massive starlight energy weaving around my limbs like a protective shroud of solid night to absorb the kinetic friction of the falling stone. The dark space around me was a chaotic nightmare of cascading granite boulders, shatter

  • The Alpha Who Rejected Me   CHAPTER 78: THE TECTONIC BLAST

TANYA’S POV The blistering, orange glare radiating from Kaelen’s chained body was melting the air inside the tunnel. The heat was unnatural, a roaring solar furnace that turned our silver suppression payloads into useless gray steam before the gas could clear the bars of the portcullis. My skin felt tight, blistering beneath the heavy wool of my cloak as the sulfurous fog evaporated into a choking white mist that smelled of scorched ozone and hot iron. "The fuse!" I shrieked, scrambling backward over the loose, shifting shale as the timber braces above our heads groaned under the sudden, localized thermal expansion. "Ignite the alchemical payloads now! Do not wait for the infantry lines to clear!" "Lady Tanya, our own vanguard engineers are still inside the secondary shaft!" the lead vanguard captain yelled, his face slick with sweat, his fingers slipping on the copper casing of the eclipse explosive cylinder. "The blast radius will bury them alive! We haven't cleared the bottle

  • The Alpha Who Rejected Me   CHAPTER 77: THE SIPHON TRAP

KAELEN’S POV The silver suppression gas hitting the vault floorboards didn’t only choke the lungs; it systematically liquefied the supernatural pressure in the room. All around the lower portcullis, the giant shadow wolves of the regular vanguard gasped, their muscular forms trembling as their spirits retreated into the dark corners of their minds under the weight of my father’s payloads. "The drainage grates!" General Vance’s replacement Captain screamed from the dark tunnel behind Tanya. "Block the ironwood shields! Let the fog seep straight down into the pup caverns!" I didn't wait for Silas’s warriors to recover their agility. I dropped my regular iron broadsword, the heavy metal clattering loudly against the wet stones, and threw my bare hands directly onto the ancient, rune-etched iron shackles hanging from the primary masonry arch. These were the cuffs Nikolai had brought down earlier—the ones built to drain a captive's baseline energy. "Kaelen, get back!" Elena shout

  • The Alpha Who Rejected Me   CHAPTER 76: THE BREACH OF THE MINE GRATE

TANYA’S POV The mud inside the narrow mountain fissure tasted like rusted iron and rotted moss, but the fire burning behind my ribs made the freezing northern wind feel like nothing. "Keep the torches doused," I hissed over my shoulder, pulling my mud-stained fur cloak tighter around my neck. "The drafts in these shafts carry smoke straight up to the fortress guardrooms. If a single wolf catches our scent before the payloads are set, I will personally skin you alive." Behind me, thirty elite Western vanguard engineers moved like golden ghosts through the pitch-black stone crack. They wore dark, oil-slicked leather over their bronze armor to stifle the ring of steel, their heavy iron crowbars and alchemical tools wrapped in thick canvas. They were following the exact lines of the highly detailed, hand-drawn map clutching in my trembling fingers—the secret mining tunnels the northern packs had abandoned decades ago. The wolves thought they were unassailable behind their high iron g

ELENA'S POV The news of the vanguard’s bloodless surrender traveled back to the Western capital like wildfire, but it didn't spark a military response. Instead, it ignited a desperate madness inside the private chambers of the House of Tanya. Tanya paced the length of her lavish dressing room,

ELENA'S POV The unnatural heat Kaelen radiated hissed violently against the freezing canyon air, creating a dense wall of fog between us. ELENA'S POV The wind inside the narrow canyon didn't just blow—it howled, cutting through the rocky fissures like a dying beast.
