Rosemary drifted off to sleep, and the heavy weight of her real life slowly faded away. Soon, the dark, cramped basement room disappeared. She opened her eyes to a beautiful, familiar world made of soft moonlight and silver mist.

She was standing at the edge of a massive pack house. Even though she came to this place almost every night in her sleep, she never got over how big and grand it was. It looked like a palace, with high stone walls and glowing windows that stretched into the sky. It was much larger and more beautiful than her real pack house. But tonight, Rosemary didn't care about the building. Her eyes went straight to the man standing by the trees.

A wave of pure happiness washed over her. He was finally here. He hadn't come to her dreams for several weeks, and she had felt incredibly lonely without him. The real world had been so dark, and she had missed his warmth terribly. But as she walked up to him, the pain from her day made her pout. She crossed her arms and decided to scold him.

"Where have you been?" she asked, her voice cracking slightly. "You left me all alone for weeks. I needed you."

The tall man looked at her, his intense, piercing eyes softening instantly. He stepped closer, bringing the scent of winter air and pine with him. He looked genuinely sorry.

"I am so sorry, little one," his deep voice rumbled, vibrating right through her chest. "There was trouble. Rogues attacked, and I had to fight a dangerous battle at my pack's border. For weeks, I barely slept. And when I finally did close my eyes, my mind was entirely blank. I was just too tired to dream. I tried to come to you, I promise."

Rosemary looked up at his face. He looked incredibly fierce. He had a strong, sharp jawline, a few faint battle scars, and a powerful body that radiated absolute authority. He looked like a king, a true leader of wolves. Looking at him made her heart ache with a familiar sadness. She knew the rules of the real world all too well. If this man were real, a powerful, dominant alpha like him would never even look at a weak, broken Omega like her. He would walk right past her. He certainly wouldn't stand around for hours just to listen to her talk.

Usually, their dream meetings were simple and happy. They only ever talked about the beautiful weather in the dream, or he would tell her stories about running through endless forests. But tonight, Rosemary felt restless and heavy. The cruel words from Anna and the other Omegas were still ringing in her ears. The pain of being twenty and mateless felt like a physical weight on her chest.

She looked into his dark, comforting eyes, and a tear finally slipped down her cheek.

"What is wrong?" he asked gently, reaching out a large, warm hand to wipe the tear away. His touch felt so real, it made her shiver. "Did someone hurt you?"

"They always hurt me," Rosemary whispered, her throat tight. "Today was just harder. They poured water all over me. They called me baggage. They reminded me that my wolf is broken, and that nobody will ever want me. I am twenty, and I am completely alone."

The man's expression turned incredibly dark and angry. His shoulders tense, and for a second, his eyes flashed a dangerous, predatory gold. Even though it was just a dream, Rosemary could feel the raw power rolling off him. He hated seeing her sad.

"You are not broken," he said, his voice fierce and commanding. "And you are not baggage. If I were there, no one would ever dare to lift a finger against you. I would tear down anyone who made you cry."

Rosemary let out a sad, soft laugh. "But you aren't there. You are just a shadow in my mind. When I wake up, the magic goes away, and I am just a floor-scrubber again."

She stepped even closer to him, gripping the front of his shirt. She could feel the steady beat of his heart. She felt a sudden, desperate longing inside her soul. She was so tired of being unloved.

"I wish you were real," she whispered softly, burying her face against his warm chest. "I wish you could walk out of my mind and into the real world. I wish you were real... and I wish you were my mate."

The man grew completely still. He wrapped his strong arms around her, holding her so tightly against him that she could barely breathe. He buried his face in her dark hair, inhaling deeply.

"I am real somewhere, little one," he murmured into her hair, his voice filled with a strange, heavy emotion that she couldn't quite understand. "Hold on. Just hold on for me."

But before she could ask him what he meant, the silver mist began to fade, and the morning light started to pull her back to reality.

  • The Alpha in My Dream    CHAPTER 65: SPARKS AND PROMISES

Rosemary’s POV The silence in the schoolhouse was so thick you could hear the tiny fire crackling in the hearth. Leo and Toby looked back and forth between Eric and Clara, their small faces completely confused. "Why is the guard guy staring like that?" Leo whispered loudly to Toby. "Is he frozen?" "I think his eyes are glowing," Toby whispered back, leaning closer to Clara’s side. Neither Eric nor Clara heard them. They were locked in their own world. Eric took another slow step forward, his boots clicking softly on the floorboards. His hands, which usually rested ready on his sword hilts, were hanging loose and trembling slightly at his sides. "I am Eric," he said, his voice unusually soft for a warrior. "I... I am the Alpha King's guard." Clara swallowed hard, her amber eyes shining with a mixture of hope and fear. She clutched the edge of her oversized tunic, her knuckles turning white. "I am Clara. I just arrived yesterday from the eastern village. I am an Omega." She said

  • The Alpha in My Dream    CHAPTER 64: A SAFE HARBOR

Rosemary’s POV The schoolhouse always smelled like heaven. Today, the scent of warm yeast and sweet cinnamon from the rolls Lily brought completely filled the cozy stone room. Colorful drawings by the pack children hung on the walls, and a small fire crackled in the hearth, keeping the chilly afternoon draft at bay. "You look like you are glowing, Rosemary," Lily said with a warm smile, pouring a cup of steaming chamomile tea for me. "Did the Alpha King do something special, or are you just happy to be out of his sight for five minutes?" I laughed, taking a warm roll and sitting down at the wooden table. "A bit of both, honestly. He is being incredibly sweet, but he is also acting like a giant, overprotective guard dog today. He literally just walked me fifty yards from the courtyard." "Well, can you blame him?" Lily sighed, sitting down across from me. "After everything that happened at the coronation, Nikolai is probably keeping Kieran on high alert. Honestly, my own mate has be

  • The Alpha in My Dream    CHAPTER 63: A KING’S PEACE

Kieran’s POV I watched Tari walk away with his new mate, his large arm wrapped carefully around her small shoulders. The giant warrior looked like a total fool, smiling so wide his cheeks probably ached. I couldn't blame him. When the wolf finds its other half, nothing else in the world matters. I looked down at Rosemary, who was still leaning against my chest with a massive grin on her face. Her blue eyes were bright, and for the first time in a long time, there was no shadow of fear in them. "What?" she asked, catching me staring. "Nothing," I murmured, resting my chin on top of her head. "It is just nice to see you smile like that. You look beautiful." "I am just happy for him," she said, wrapping her arms tighter around my waist. "Tari is a good man. He deserves to be happy." "He does," I agreed. "But now I have to find a new guard to watch you while he is busy staring into his mate's eyes. Marcus!" Marcus stepped out from the shade of the grand archway a few yards away. He

  • The Alpha in My Dream    CHAPTER 62: THE PUSH

Rosemary’s POV Maya stood frozen across the courtyard, her cheeks turning a bright, beautiful pink. Tari looked like a giant statue. He didn't move a single muscle, just stared at her with his glowing wolf eyes like she was the only person in the entire world. "Go!" I urged, giving his massive arm a hard shove. It felt like pushing a brick wall. "Tari, go to her!" He blinked, finally snapping out of his trance. He looked down at me, his face a mix of pure shock and absolute terror. "Luna... I’m on duty. The Alpha said I cannot leave your side. I have to protect you." "Are you crazy?" I laughed, shaking my head. "This is your mate! The Alpha would tear this whole castle down if someone tried to keep him from me. I am perfectly safe right here. Go help her with her flowers!" Tari looked back at Maya. She was slowly kneeling down, her hands shaking as she tried to gather the spilled lavender from the grass. Every time she reached for a flower, her eyes flicked back up to look at him

  • The Alpha in My Dream    CHAPTER 61: THE RHYTHM OF HOME

Rosemary’s POV A few weeks passed, and life inside the Moon Claw castle finally found a new rhythm. The crazy drama from the coronation ceremony was slowly becoming a memory. Still, things were different now. Security was much tighter than before. There were more guards at the gates, the border patrols were doubled, and I was never allowed to walk anywhere without my giant shadow. Luckily, that shadow was Tari. Over the past weeks, Tari had become much more than just a bodyguard to me. He had become one of my closest friends, someone I truly counted as family. We spent hours together every day. He accompanied me to my meetings with Lily about the new pup literacy school, walked with me through the gardens, and, true to his word, helped me eat an alarming amount of sweet pastries from the kitchen. "I'm just saying, Luna," Tari said, adjusting the heavy leather strap of his chest armor as we walked down the sunny courtyard pathway. "If the Alpha thinks he can out-eat me at the p

  • The Alpha in My Dream    CHAPTER 60: BLOOD AND DUTY

Rosemary’s POV Kieran’s heavy arm tightened around my waist, pulling me flush against his side as Tanya’s footsteps completely faded from the stone corridor. Marcus gave us a quiet, respectful nod and stepped a few paces ahead, giving us a small pocket of privacy while we walked toward the grand war room. "You're a terrible liar, you know," Kieran murmured, his deep voice vibrating against my shoulder. The amusement from our mindlink was gone, replaced by a softer, curious tone. "What was that really about?" I hesitated, looking down at the stone floor as our boots clicked in unison. "She's just stressed. She's worried about the borders being locked down and the trade routes freezing up. She thinks I'm causing a lot of trouble for the pack." Kieran let out a dark, rough sigh, his jaw clenching for a brief second. "Tanya is an exceptional administrator, but she views everything through the lens of military perfection. Don't take her coldness to heart, Rosemary." He paused, his expr
