عرض المزيدAria Blackwood....
The morning of my nineteenth birthday didn’t start with flowers or music. It started with mud, dirty smelling, sticky mud ewwwwwww. I groaned as I dragged another bucket of water from the well behind the training grounds. My arms ached from the weight of the bucket. My shoulders were screaming in protest, but I gritted my teeth and kept going. When I finally dumped it into the wooden trough, icy water splashed up, soaking my boots. "fuckkkk!!" I half yelled I hate my life It wasn’t glamorous work, but someone had to do it. And more often than not, that someone was me. I was meant to be training by now, but here I was caked in mud, on my birthday. Around me, the pack’s warriors trained hard, their grunts and laughter filling the air. Wooden swords clashed against each other, and the training ground smelled like sweat. A few of the warriors glanced in my direction, smirks curling on their lips. “Beta’s daughter, huh?” one of them whispered, loud enough for me to hear. “More like the pack maid.” The others chuckled, laughing loudly like huge assholes that they are. Heat pricked my cheeks, but I didn’t look up. I’d heard it all before. Yes, I was Jonathan Blackwood’s daughter, the Beta of the Stormfang Pack. But that didn’t mean I was treated like royalty. If anything, it seemed to mean I was expected to work twice as hard and prove myself just to earn a scrap of respect. I wasn’t the strongest wolf. I wasn’t the prettiest. I wasn’t the kind of girl who turned heads. I was just… Aria. my wolf was very small and white, small meant weak, white meant weak, I had to work hard to prove myself everytime in the pack even if my dad was pretty important. Selene, my wolf, stirred inside me, her voice firm. “Ignore them. They only mock what they cannot control or understand." A small smile tugged at my lips. Selene always believed in me, even when no one else did, even when i didn't believe in myself Still, the sting lingered. I carried the empty bucket back toward the well, trying to shake off their mocking stares. “Still fetching water, Aria?” I froze. That voice. When I turned, Serena Hale was standing a few feet away, her arms crossed, a smug smile playing on her perfect lips. Her blonde ponytail swished as she tilted her head to stare at me. Serena was tall, curvy, and confident — the kind of she-wolf who commanded attention the second she walked into a room, her wolf was big for a female and grey, signifying power. And she knew it. “Don’t you ever get tired of acting like the pack’s servant?” she asked sweetly, her tone dripping with mockery. I tightened my grip on the bucket. “Someone has to do it. Unless you’d rather train in your own stink.” Her smile faltered, her blue eyes narrowing. A couple of nearby warriors snickered at my comeback. Serena’s gaze hardened. She stepped closer, lowering her voice so only I could hear. “Careful, Beta’s girl. You may think being Jonathan’s daughter gives you a shield, but trust me — nobody will save you if you push too far.” Then, without warning, she kicked the bucket, sending water splashing on my skirt. Cold seeped into the fabric, clinging to my legs. Laughter rippled around us. Selene growled inside me. “Don’t take that.” My own anger boiled over. “At least I don’t need to throw myself at all the warriors just to get noticed,” I snapped. Gasps erupted. Serena’s eyes widened in fury. Before I could brace myself, she lunged, fingers digging into my arm. Pain flared in my poor arm, I cried out and stumbled and hit the ground hard. The training field went silent and then cackled with laughter, my cheeks were flaming red and Serena smirked at me “Alpha Damien won’t tolerate weakness. Just wait, Aria. You'll be leaving this pack very soon to join the rogues" she said Her words chilled me to the bone, but I refused to show fear. I turned away,my jaw clenched, and picked up the bucket again. My hands trembled slightly, though I prayed no one noticed. "Today is your nineteenth birthday maybe you'll find a mate who is as weak as you" she said I rolled my eyes, Serena was 20 without a mate yet she was here throwing shades at me I laughed a little inside.. She sneered at me and walked away By the time I trudged home, the sun was going down, and my clothes were sticking to my skin. Our pack’s territory stretched wide — endless forests, clear rivers, and the grand pack house that loomed tall in the center like a fortress. Our own home was smaller, tucked closer to the riverbank. Cozy, but humble for a Beta family. When I got inside, the scent of herbs and stew tickled my nostrils. My mother, Clara, moved gracefully around the kitchen, her auburn hair tied back, her green eyes soft when they landed on me. “You’re late,” she said, dishing the stew into bowls. “Training ran long?” I hesitated. “Something like that.” She looked at me with a knowing look, but she didn’t press. She never did. My mother always sensed when Serena had tried to bully me again. “Sit and Eat,” she said gently. I obeyed, even though I wasn't hungry. My mind had drifted to my birthday celebration tonight at the pack house. It was the night everything was supposed to change. The night I would feel the bond of my mate. Selene purred in my mind. “He’s out there. Waiting for us.” A nervous laugh bubbled in my throat. Who would it be? A warrior? Someone kind? Someone who would finally make me feel like I belonged? Or worse… someone who would look at me the way Serena did, with disdain and disgust. The thought sent a shiver through me. I shoved it away, putting a spoon of stew into my mouth, even though it tasted like ash. Later, when the dishes were done and the house quiet, I slipped away to the riverbank. The water glimmered under the fading light, fireflies dancing along the edges. This was my safe place. The only place where I could breathe without feeling the stares of my packmates regarding me with disdain because I was just an omega. I sat on the smooth rocks, letting the cool river wash over my toes. The moon was just beginning to rise, pale silver against the blue sky. I clasped my hands and whispered, “Please, Moon Goddess. Don’t let me be alone anymore. Please give me someone who will see me.” Selene’s voice was soft, certain. “You won’t be alone, Aria. Trust me. Our fate is waiting.” I hugged my knees to my chest, my heart full of hope and fear. I didn’t know then how cruel fate could be. I didn’t know that the mate I prayed for was already set in motion, waiting to tear my world apart before it even began. *******Caelum’s POVWe left the place before sunrise. After tracking the footprints it led no where important. The city was still sleeping when General Rowan’s soldiers opened the northern gates for us.The sky was dark.Even though dawn was approaching, thick clouds covered the moon, leaving the road ahead barely visible.I sat behind the wheel of the vehicle, my hands resting firmly against it as we followed the narrow road toward the mountains.Aria sat beside me and Nyra was in the back.General Rowan’s two soldiers followed behind us on horseback. Our destination was still several hours away. The village beneath the mountains. The place where we hoped to find answers. The place where, according to Rowan’s scouts, the king might already be waiting. I glanced at the rearview mirror.Nyra was staring out the window.“You okay?” I asked Her eyes met mine through the mirror. “I’m fine.”“You’re sure?”“Yes.” She smiled Aria looked at me and I shrugged while Nyra rolled her eyes. “I regret
Caelum's POVI looked down at the map still spread across the table.Five territories and twentyfive packs and somewhere among them was the person responsible for the attacks. The person who wanted Nyra.I leaned back in my chair. "Well..."Aria reached for another piece of bread. "That was cheerful conversation"I stared at her. "You're eating?""Yes.""We just found out an ancient dark wolf is probably hunting us.""I know."She shrugged. "I get hungry when I'm stressed."Nyra looked at her. "You're always hungry.""Exactly."I couldn't help laughing, even Nyra smiled then her expression became serious. "We need to find him."The smile disappeared from my face. "Agreed."We moved to the strategy room shortly after breakfast. General Rowan had given us permission to use it.The walls were covered with maps. I stared at the map."So..." I pointed toward the five territories we'd planned to visit. "We start here."Aria leaned closer. "Why?""Because this is where the attacks began."N
Caelum's POVI was very warm and second thing was that my entire body hurt.A dull ache spread through my chest every time I breathed. My ribs protested the smallest movement, and my left shoulder felt as though someone had dropped a boulder on it.I let out a quiet groan."So I'm still alive."The memory of the battle returned in flashes. The black-armored man and my lightning.Nyra.I slowly opened my eyes.Soft morning light poured through the curtains, filling the room with a warm golden glow. For a moment, everything was peaceful theb I noticed someone beside me.Nyra. She was asleep on the other side of the bed.Still wearing the same clothes from yesterday, though they had been cleaned. One arm rested beneath her head while loose strands of black hair framed her face. She looked beautiful as always.I smiled "So you stayed here."She must have been exhausted.Dark circles rested beneath her eyes, and even in sleep her brows were slightly furrowed. I quietly pushed the blanket
Nyra’s POVMate. The word echoed through every part of me. It settled into my heart with a certainty that left no room for doubt.I stared at Caelum’s unconscious face, unable to move. No… This couldn’t be happening. My wolf remained unusually calm, almost… happy. The invisible thread between us pulsed again, warm and steady.I instinctively reached for my chest but it was still there and I could feel the bond.I had heard stories growing up, every wolf had.The Moon Goddess would choose one soul for another, weaving their lives together with a bond stronger than blood. Some wolves found their mates early while others searched for decades. Others never found theirs at all.And somehow mine had been beside me all this time and I didn’t know.Tears blurred my vision. “This isn’t fair…”I whispered. “You deserve someone… normal.”“Move aside.” General Rowan’s voice pulled me back to reality.Several healers hurried toward us carrying leather satchels filled with herbs and bandages. One o
The Evil King’s POV…..The fire never truly warmed the throne room.It only illuminated it.Black flames curled along the obsidian walls, licking ancient runes carved deep into stone older than kingdoms. The air tasted of iron and incense, of blood soaked into the bones of the mountain itself. This
Aria’s POV......The moment they came in, the world tilted.Kael’s arms were slick with blood, and Kaelen—my Kaelen—was looking emotionless and pale. His chest was torn open, the deep gashes raw and gleaming even through the healing paste they smeared over it. The scent of blood and burnt metal fi
Aria’s POV…..They made me scrub floors that reeked of old iron and vinegar, until my knuckles bled and my palms were raw. The servants — pale, hollow-eyed women and men who moved like ghosts — watched me with a mixture of scorn and pity. They dressed me in plain rough wool and braided my white hai
Aria's pov……..His palm grips the side of my neck, gentle but firm. He pushes his forehead against mine and his skin is burning.“Fuck. I can’t. . . I can’t handle this, Aria I said I would wait until after the war I told myself I’d wait. But I need you.” I need him too. I need him to be rough wit
