LOGINAmelia's POV…
“Where are you going Luna?" Runa asked as I stood up and moved towards the door. I furrowed my brows. “I'm thirsty and I want to get water to drink," “Okay," she came towards me. “I'll help you with that. Just sit," I didn't move and she didn't either. She seemed to be waiting for me to sit before she leaves. “I can help myself. You don't have to worry about that. You've been up and active all day, I don't want to stress you," “No," she said, her voice low. “I'll help you with anything," She was so persistent so I gave up trying and sat back down. She left the room and just seconds later, she came back. She handed me a cup of water. I took it and muttered a ‘thank you'. I drank from it and the water seemed to energise me more for my plans. I set the cup on the table next to me, my thoughts spiraling on how to escape. I stood up and casually walked around the room. I stopped by the door and made to open it immediately, but she was so quick to block me before I could even open the door. “I'm sorry Luna, but you can't leave the room," she said, standing in front of the door. I blinked in confusion. "What's that supposed to mean?” I was annoyed by her actions. I had the freedom to go wherever I wanted. “If you need something, I can always…” "I don't need anything,” I cut her off. "I just want to walk about the store and see how preparation is going,” "I'll ask the servants to come and report to you how everything is coming along. If you want, I'll make them prepare Infront of you,” I scoffed as I stared at her in disbelief. She was making me angry. She had no right to stop me. I'm her Luna… though Colton hasn't claimed me as his Luna yet. I was only his mate. "Don't worry about that,” I decided to use a new tactic. “I want to receive fresh air," “There's air in here…" she tried to counter. “Outside," I growled. I could feel the colour of my eyes about to change. I didn't know why, but whenever I was angry, my eye colour usually changes. Not like the colour of Nyx’s eyes, but a totally different colour. My mom called it fury. No one knew about it… not even Colton. Only my mother. I try all the time not to get angry, so people wouldn't know about it. But Runa here, was tempting me. “I want to get some air outside," “I can open up the widows more and you can lean by the window to get some air. it's the same as outside," “No," I shook my head. “I've been in here all day. I want to stretch my legs and get some air," “I'm sorry," she lowered her head. “Alpha didn't permit me to allow you go out," My heart sank. So this was why Colton sent her. To monitor my movements and to make sure that I don't attend the banquet. Tears stinged at the corner of my eyes and threatened to fall. I raised my head and blinked rapidly, forcing them back in. “Are you okay Luna? Do you feel unwell?" She asked. “If I'm your Luna, then you listen to me and do as I said. Let me go," “I can't. I only take orders from the Alpha," I staggered backwards slightly. Was that what I was? An insignificant mate… whose decision doesn't matter? Was that what they all thought of me. I sat down, my head hung low. “I need some space," “Sure Luna. I'll be outside your door," she bowed again and left. I let it out. I cried my pain out. Was I only by his side to warm his bed? He had to go as far as sending someone to keep me from leaving. ‘Don’t cry. Please be strong for us’ Nyx said, her voice filled with pain. I sniffled. ‘Yeah. No matter what they think, we can't let them stop us’ I must attend that banquet. I need to see what Colton had planned for Victoria tonight.Amelia's POV…I was back at the hut. Jaxen was sharpening her knife again. I owed her an apology for my ungrateful attitude earlier. I opened my mouth to say something, but she beat me to it. “I'm sorry about earlier," she said. I blinked. Why was she apologizing? I should be the one doing that, not her. She looked at me. “I took out everything on you and I shouldn't have. I'm sorry about that," I shook my head. “You don't have to apologise. I'm the one supposed to apologise for sounding so ungrateful. I guess I deserved it," She sighed. “All my life, I've always tried to live up to expectations and please everyone around me. Even if it meant inconveniencing myself just to make them happy. But each time, my efforts were never appreciated," “I’m sorry you faced that," “My family… they treated me like I wasn't a part of them. Like I was an outcast… like I never truly belonged. When I found my mate, the Beta of our pack, they wanted to exploit the opportunity so they could rise t
Colton's POV…“You took her to the building site?" I asked. I was in my office and the chief contractor was standing before me. Drew said he might know something. "Yes Alpha,” he answered. "Luna had requested to see the new construction site. I… I couldn't disobey her orders and also, I didn't know she wasn't aware of it,”"Why did you take her there?” I growled, slamming my palms on the table. He fell to his knees. "I'm so sorry Alpha. I didn't know you didn't want her to see it. Please forgive me. I apologise for my mistake,”"Apologies?” I scoffed. "Your apologies fixes nothing. “My mate is miles away from here. Your Luna could be in trouble and you are apologising?" "Alpha, with all due respect,” Drew cut in slowly. "I don't think he's to blame. There's absolutely no way Luna would have gave him orders to take her there and he wouldn't obey," My jaw tightened and my nails dug into my palms. I glared at the man on his knees. “You can go," I said to him. He quickly rose from his
Amelia's POV…Jaxen and I were on a lonely path in search of the leaf that could mask my scent. We were very far from the hut. I don't know how far we've gone, but I knew it was so far that we won't be able to run back there if we got attacked right about now. “How did you know about his leaf?" I asked her. “A female Rogue told me about it," she paused. “A pregnant Rogue," My eyes widened. “What? A pregnant wolf? How come?" “She had cheated on her mate. She was already in love with someone else when her mate found her and she and her lover didn't want to end things so they kept seeing each other and that included intimacy. When she got pregnant, she tried to pin it on her mate. But he soon found out and she was banished from the pack," My mouth fell open as she told the story. She looked at me, then my stomach. “That was the reason I asked if you had cheated on your mate too and then got kicked out," I laughed. “That is so not possible," I wondered if her mate felt the same wa
Colton's POV…I paced back and forth in my room. I couldn't sleep a wink. My nerves were just on edge and I felt very restless. The rain had already started pouring heavily. The lightning came in flashes and the thunder rolled angrily. I moved to the window and looked into the rain painted night. Was she okay? Was she cold? Where could she be? I sat on the bed as thousands of questions flooded my mind at the same time. I couldn't wait for the morning. I desperately needed answers.********That morning…I visited her mansion again, hoping… just hoping to get a positive answer this time. As I got there, all the servants were there… on their knees. What were they doing?“Please Alpha, we're innocent. We know nothing about Luna's disappearance. Please spare our families," they all cried. I watched them all in utter surprise. I was definitely not expecting this. “You take me for a fool huh?" I said, my voice dangerously low. “You think I'll believe this pretty lie of yours?" I thund
Colton's POV…“What do you mean you couldn't find her?" I barked at Drew. “Search everywhere. She must be somewhere. No one is to rest until she's been found," “Yes Alpha," he bowed and left. I reclined on my chair and closed my eyes. I gently rubbed my temples as a sigh escaped my lips. “Where could she be?" The door opened and shut with a clicking sound. I wondered who had the guts to come into my office without knocking. I was in a very bad mood so the person was in for a serious lash out. Before I could open my eyes, I felt a hand slide down my neck. “You've been shouting since morning," she said. “You must be tired. Come, let's go inside," she said and held my hands.“Not now Victoria," I said and released my hands.“I have a surprise for you,* she pressed on. “Don’t you want to know what it is?”I opened my eyes and looked at her. "I'm not in the mood,”I sat up and picked my pen to continue signing documents. "No,” she said and took the pen from me. "I'll help you out,”
Amelia's POV…Later that night, I left the hut and joined her outside. Everywhere was pitch black except the glow from the moon. I sat on the floor next to the wall. “I've decided to let you stay," she said in the darkness. "But if you cause any trouble, I won't just send you away… I'll kill you,”My heart skipped a bit when she said that, but I knew I wasn't going to cause her any troubles. "Don't worry,” I said. "You won't even know I'm here,”She didn't say anything to that. We just stayed out there, looking into the darkness. Sometimes, I would just stare up at the moon. “Do you usually like the dark or you don't want to light a fire?" “I don't light any fire because light draws attention and attracts predators. Any form of light source would draw their attention and you wouldn't want to know how it turns out," “Predators like…”"Rogue wolves,” she answered sharply. "Because I didn't kill you doesn't mean others won't. There are rogue wolves that have lost their human sides
Amelia's POV… I stood by the window looking out. Pack members were leaving the pack house and moving towards the banquet hall. The excitement was all over their faces as they chatted along the way. But I was here, trapped like a forsaken princess, waiting to be rescued by a prince in a shiny a
Amelia's POV… The next day… The pack house was filled with activities. Everyone was getting ready for the banquet tonight. The atmosphere was so jovial, but I wasn't. I was inside one of the rooms in the pack store. ‘Why doesn't he want us to go?’ Nyx asked. ‘I don't know that. He clearly d
Amelia's POV… My hands lay over my stomach protectively. I hadn't been invoiced with any other person, so how come… or was the pregnant test wrong? A chilling breeze filled the cottage and made a chill run down my spine. The excitement I felt earlier that day when I saw the pregnancy result had
Amelia's POV… I'm pregnant? I stared down at the two pink lines of the pregnancy test. "I'm really pregnant," I muttered with a smile, a ray of joy leaping in my heart. After three long, agonizing years of whispered prayers and medicinal teas, I was finally carrying his child. My heart hamm
