Mabel’s POV

“Kyran, how could you do this to your own child?” I gritted out, my fingers tightening around the phone until my knuckles turned pale.

But no matter how angry or heartbroken I felt right now, I refused to let his foolishness cost my daughter her life.

The pack had always hated me since they wanted Gena as their Luna instead of me, so despite carrying the title for five years, I barely played that role openly and Kyran had never once cared enough to correct the disrespect.

Still, a Luna and her Alpha were equal in status as mates, and in situations where an Alpha was unavailable, the Luna had the authority to occupy his office and make decisions in his place.

I turned toward my daughter again, and my chest tightened painfully at the sight of her tiny body lying weakly against the hospital bed.

Her breathing was uneven again, and even while asleep, she looked uncomfortable, her little brows furrowed like she could still feel the pain moving through her body.

I couldn’t leave her alone, not even for a few minutes, and she was far too weak to be carried around the pack in this condition.

I quickly reached for my phone again and called the nanny. Thankfully she answered immediately.

“Luna?”

“Bring my Luna seal and the official pack letter headed paper to the hospital right now,” I said quickly, already walking toward the small table beside the ward window. “And don’t let anyone stop you.”

The nanny must have heard the urgency in my voice because she didn’t ask questions.

“I’ll be there immediately.”

True to her words, she arrived less than twenty minutes later looking slightly out of breath, her hair messy from rushing. The moment she stepped into the ward, she pulled the sealed wooden box from her bag carefully before handing it over to me.

“Luna, what’s going on?” she asked softly, glancing nervously at my daughter.

I swallowed hard before opening the box.

The silver Luna seal sat inside, polished and beautiful, carrying the crescent symbol of Darknile Pack.

For a moment I stared at it quietly, remembering how proud I had been the first day the elders placed it in my hands after my marriage to Kyran.

Back then I truly believed maybe I could become accepted someday.

What a joke.

“The hospital transferred my daughter’s donor heart to Gena’s child under Kyran’s order,” I finally said, and the nanny gasped loudly.

“What?”

“I don’t have time to explain,” I muttered, pulling the official papers toward me.

“The Supreme Territory Hospital can still approve an emergency transfer if the request carries Alpha authority.”

The nanny looked relieved immediately. “Then that’s good, right? You’re the Luna.”

I didn’t answer her immediately.

Instead, I picked up the pen slowly and began writing the request letter with trembling fingers.

Every line felt heavier than it should have, mostly because I hated the fact that after everything, I still needed Kyran’s title to save our daughter.

The hospital ward remained quiet except for the scratching sound of my pen against paper and the soft beeping of the machines attached to my daughter.

Once I finished writing the emergency request, I pressed the Luna seal firmly against the document, watching the silver imprint settle beautifully against the paper.

For the first time since the call ended, a small breath escaped my lips. Maybe this would work.

Maybe I was not completely powerless yet.

I immediately handed the documents over to Dr. Hale the moment he returned.

“This should authorize the transfer request,” I said quickly. “Send it immediately.”

He took the papers from me, scanning through them briefly before nodding.

“I’ll personally make sure it reaches the Supreme Territory.”

“Please,” my voice softened despite myself, “my daughter doesn’t have much time and she's in pain.”

His expression shifted slightly at that before he turned and left the ward with the papers in hand.

The waiting that followed felt unbearable.

Every minute stretched endlessly while I sat beside my daughter’s bed holding her tiny hand, staring at the clock hanging on the hospital wall like somehow watching it closely would force time to slow down.

The nanny stayed quietly in the corner while nurses moved in and out of the room occasionally checking the monitors.

Hours later, the ward door opened again.

I immediately stood up.

“Did they approve it?”

Dr. Hale walked in holding the same documents, but the look on his face made my stomach drop instantly.

My smile faded slowly. “What happened?”

The doctor hesitated before handing the papers back to me. The large red stamp across the front page almost blinded me.

REQUEST DENIED.

My eyes widened instantly.

“What?”

I grabbed the papers from him quickly, scanning through the rejection notice again and again like the words would somehow change if I stared long enough, but they remained the same.

Authority invalid.

Luna privileges revoked.

Direct order submitted by Alpha Kyran Zendaro.

For a moment I genuinely stopped breathing.

“What is this?” I whispered.

The doctor looked uncomfortable again.

“A decree was submitted from the Alpha office this morning. Your Luna authority has officially been suspended under the Alpha’s direct command.”

I stared at him blankly.

“No…” I shook my head immediately. “That doesn’t make sense. Kyran can’t revoke my authority without informing me first.”

But even as the words left my mouth, I realized how stupid they sounded.

Of course he could.

Kyran had not looked at me in months.

Why would he bother informing me?

The humiliation hit me so hard my face burned instantly.

My fingers tightened around the papers while my mind struggled to process everything at once.

While I had been sitting beside our dying daughter all day, Kyran had signed a decree stripping me of my Luna authority like I was some criminal abusing power.

Because of Gena.

Because he believed her over me once again.

“They said the Luna had abused her authority and treated pack members like trash” Dr. Hale reported.

“I didn’t abuse anything,” I said quietly, more to myself than anyone else.

“I was trying to save our child.”

Dr. Hale avoided my eyes.

I slowly lowered myself back into the chair beside my daughter’s bed, suddenly feeling exhausted in a way sleep could never fix.

Even after everything I had endured in that pack, part of me still believed I at least had some place beside Kyran.

But now even that illusion was gone.

I quickly grabbed my phone again and called Kyran once more.

No answer…The third call didn’t even ring fully before it got rejected.

A shaky laugh escaped my lips before I could stop it.

Of course.

At this point I didn’t even know why I was still expecting anything different.

My daughter stirred weakly again, letting out a soft cry that immediately snapped my attention back to her. I leaned closer quickly, smoothing my hand gently over her hair while trying to calm myself down at the same time.

“I’m here baby,” I whispered softly. “Mama is here.”

The ward suddenly felt colder than before.

Outside the ward, I suddenly heard two passing nurses who clearly didn’t realize I could hear them.

“So it’s true? The Alpha really removed Luna Mabel?”

“Well everyone knows Lady Gena was always supposed to be Luna anyway.”

“I heard the Alpha only married Mabel because of the child.”

“And now Lady Gena is back where she belongs.”

“I heard the Alpha house is throwing a private celebration tonight.”

“Well, Lady Gena’s daughter survived the surgery, of course they’ll celebrate.”

“I even heard young master Arlan helped decorate the cake himself. He’s probably there already.”

My body froze instantly.

Celebration?

My daughter was lying here dying while they were celebrating another child surviving with the heart stolen from her.

KYRAN. Everyone turned to look, necks being craned, eyes searching. Gena stumbled and almost fell, I caught her with my hands. She hissed softly and stood up, then forced a smile. “Thank you, Kyran.” That was it. My gaze fell on her dress. Earlier she had a net covering her chest, but now it was off. Her breasts were bumped forward, her posture lewd. She had her gaze fixed on the entrance, rubbing her hands together, while she smiled. Cold disgust washed over me as I stared at her. I was really foolish to choose her over the woman that loved me. My own mate. Now she was but a ghost. A familiar scent hit me. My brows furrowed and I took my gaze away from Gena to the Alpha coming in. That scent. I recalled it, but it couldn't be possible right. My legs moved on their own. I broke through the crowd, standing in front to see the figure coming. I couldn't see him. All I saw were elite guards walking in. Then the whispers caught up to me. “Did they send a representative? Why is th

KYRAN. I have spent two days preparing. I checked all crescent Zenith files. Organised negotiation terms. I was ready to give them land as long as they are willing to extend their support. “Alpha, the Crescent Zenith pack has helped the supreme council for years. All of a sudden they disappeared,” Percy said, reading from a file, his posture straight. I have called him to my office to tell me everything about the Crescent Zenith pack. Rumours and truths alike. I didn't mind. Anything to know before meeting that proud Alpha. “So why did they suddenly stop helping?” “It's not mentioned alpha.” He flipped through the book, then returned to the first page. “It says here that ever since the new alpha took over, they have refused to be involved with other packs.” I placed my elbow on the desk, then rubbed my jaw lightly. The alpha was indeed a proud one. If I wasn't in need, or I hadn't cast Mabel away, I wouldn't have to be thinking of literally begging for support. Solely thinking

KYRAN. The council hall was large, a roundtable at the centre, seats surrounding it. There was a glass wall at the right, which made the sight creep in. Alpha's from various packs gathered, and I sat in the head chair with the elders all seated. There were whispers, which of course, I could hear clearly. “Why do you think the elders called this meeting?” One of the Alpha's asked another. “Probably because they didn't want a supreme Alpha without a Luna,” Alpha Silas, leader of the Blood moon pack. The same pack that poached my soldiers. His gaze was fixed on me — taunting. My jaws worked. “An emergency meeting was called because we needed to discuss serious issues.” “Nothing serious if it's just Darknile's pack crumbling. Other packs are doing just fine,” Silas chirped in, and murmurs ensued. My claws elongated, eyes so dark that I felt the need to snap his throat. No matter what. I was still the supreme alpha. Whether he wanted it or not. “Silence!” I growled, slamming the

KYRAN. I sat in my office, gaze fixed on the laptop monitor. The lamplight on the table served as a light source to the office. I kept tapping on the desk. My breathing changed with each tap. I have calculated how many emails I have sent the past two years. That's 104 emails in total. Of course, I wouldn't send loads of emails every week. That would come off as desperate. Truth is, I was desperate, but I was still the supreme alpha. I couldn't risk acting weak. Seeing my email alone should spark urgency to whoever was reading them. But, my emails have been blatantly ignored by this pack. Whatever their name was. Crescent Zenith pack. My claws scraped the surface of my desk. I leaned back, still staring at the email. I couldn't let this opportunity slip before me, if things get worse than they are right now, I am most certain that I would lose my position as supreme alpha. And other alphas would snatch it in a heartbeat. The reason they hadn't done that in two years was because

MABEL. It was already dark when I left Kyra in the care of Evie to meet with GusI arrived at a small cottage. I exhaled. The old man had decided that he wanted to spend more time around here. According to him. He felt closer to the spirit of his old friends when he came to the cottage. Everywhere was actually bright. Street lights shone brightly. There was a garden surrounding it, and the gate wasn't tall. It was short, made of wood. It was like he dared rogues to attack him. I walked straight to the cottage. I felt someone’s gaze on me. I paused, my claws elongating. The aura felt different, strange. Not like Gus or any of his guards. The shadow passed by quickly, and my eyes flashed blood red, alpha energy, and my pheromones burst out. “Who?!” I asked, my voice thundered. So loud that the leaves shook and a few branches snapped. The cottage door opened, and my blood red vision fell on Gus. He was dressed in a simple stay-at-home cloth, his entire hair gray with age. I hear

MABEL. I stood up, slid the document into the drawer, and fixed my suit absent-mindedly. I remembered two years ago. Kyra was lying on that bed, her face pale, lips cracked. Her whimpers were enough to make anyone with an actual heart pity her. She lay there so long, and for once, Kyran didn't come to see her. Not even when a lot of donors' hearts didn't match with hers. I thought it was just my bad luck. But right now, learning that Maria was never terminally ill, and that Kyra had been injected with a lot of sedatives and corticosteroids. Someone wanted her dead. The question was who? It couldn't be Veyron. Veyron couldn't be that heartless to his Alpha's daughter. But then again, Kyran never cared. I ran my tongue against my lips, then shook off the thought. As for this, I would get to the root of it. It doesn't matter how many more years. I have power now. I wasn't a weakling or pitiful Luna. I walked out of my office, staring at my watch repeatedly, footsteps fast. “M
