MENODORA'S POV

The words stay suspended in the air, hanging over my head like a piece of dark cloud. Throughout the day, try as hard as I could, I just cannot get his words out of my mind

“You have spent your life asking the wrong questions." Those are the words that flowed from Cassian’s lips, but they didn't flow like water. They feel like little darts aimed at my already battered heart.

"Are you okay?” Orvax asks for the gazillionth time since Cassian's arrival. I know he is worried even wh

I know it's been a few days since the last update. I have been quite busy with school. I am still a student (university) and sometimes balancing writing and brainstorming ideas for my book alongside my regular school work is sometimes too much for me to handle. I had a test on Friday which is the main reason why I had to take a few days off writing. Also using this opportunity to thank all my readers who religiously follow the updates for my book. Don't forget to leave a comment or reviews, they encourage me to keep writing for your satisfaction. Love youuuuuuuuu 💚🦋✨

  • The Luna's Blood Moon: She Refused To Bow   CHAPTER 65: WHERE THE WORLD IS FORGOTTEN III

MENODORA'S POV "They know that you have finally come home." Those words settle over me like the softness of the first snow of the season. "They know that you have finally come home." The words echo through my mind, bouncing around the walls of my chest and refusing to take root.“This is not my home, I have no home!" I say, the words coming out sharper than I intend it to be."No?” Cassian asks, regarding me with the kind of patience you use when talking with a petulant child."Yes,” I reply, shaking my head. "This isn't my home. The only place closest to what felt like home for me was snatched too early. A small cottage where my mother hid me away from prying eyes…I never really understood her then, but now I do.”My eyes start to water again and I blink against the tears rigorously. “I still remember the way it smelled of cedar after every rainfall. My mother would sneak in whenever she could to avoid anyone knowing where I really was. There was a crooked fence she always promise

  • The Luna's Blood Moon: She Refused To Bow   CHAPTER 64: WHERE THE WORLD IS FORGOTTEN II

MENODORA'S POV Ancient trees climb up, stretch so far that they almost touch the sky. Their silver trunks are broader and larger than any buildings I have ever seen. Their leaves glow with a faint shimmer, like stars had found a way to be caught in the branches.Flowers cover the hillsides in different shades and hues of colour, some of which I do not even have a name for.The birds are just as breathtaking and awe inspiring as the landscape. They have long iridescent tails that shimmer and shine like a liquid pearl. Flying overhead, they sing a bird song unlike anything that I have ever heard before now. Far below where we're standing, gentle creatures grazed across a meadow that stretches on for endless miles. They seem so relaxed, without any care in the world. Some of them have antlers like those closely resembling that of a deer. Some have six legs…so unlike anything I have seen or heard of before. One of them must have sensed our presence. It lifts its head, antlers shimmering

  • The Luna's Blood Moon: She Refused To Bow   CHAPTER 63: WHERE THE WORLD IS FORGOTTEN

MENODORA’S POVInside the mountain swallows whatever little light there is. The sound of stone grinding against stone echoes behind us until it is a deafening grating sound on our ears and then, there is nothing but silence around us. It is not the silence of an empty room or even the kind of silence that hits the forest before a storm. This is a silence that is pulsing, a silence that I can feel the breath of it…a silence that is watching. For a minute, I can't help but come to a halt. The passage ahead of us stretches endlessly for miles that do not seem to have an end. The walls around us glow with the same hues of gold, blue and white that glowed on the stones outside like a heartbeat pulsing beneath the walls. The light isn't bright enough to chase the shadows that surround us but it is enough to illuminate our path, as though the mountain itself knows exactly how much we need to see.Without a single conscious thought, gravity pulls my gaze…and my body…back to the entrance. My h

  • The Luna's Blood Moon: She Refused To Bow   CHAPTER 62: INTO THE FORGOTTEN WILDS

ORVAX'S POV The camp stirs before the first signs of sunrise begin to peek out of the clouds. We all speak in hushed tones, no one speaks too loudly, even the horses seem to sense the change in the air.Elira helps Menodora gather what little belongings she has…a folded cloak that one of the kind women in the territory gifted to her, the comb that the other stranger; that I just realized I haven't seen for a while, gave to her. There's also the small carved wolfe that I had once given to her as a gift on one of the nights I visited her…that night feels like a thousand years ago.Picking up the carving, she turns it over in her hands, probably thinking the same thing I am, before slipping it carefully into her satchel, a small unconscious smile playing on her lips. I watch her from my spot from across the clearing, she looks entirely spent, like a battery drained to a critical percentage. The tiredness isn't just physical alone though, beneath all that physical exhaustion is a spirit

  • The Luna's Blood Moon: She Refused To Bow   CHAPTER 61: THE KINGDOM LONG FORGOTTEN

ORVAX'S POV Silence, an invisible blanket spun from the fibers of twilight and fading breath, follows Cassian's declaration. It settles over the clearing like fresh snow, heavy and light at the same time.“It's best we leave now, just before dawn starts to take its hold upon us," he says again, his voice calm and collected in such a way that leaves no room for arguments. "Your territory is no longer safe enough to protect her…from herself and probably the enemies after her.”My eyes are locked on him, refusing to blink, with a gaze that feels almost physical. I'm not just looking at him though, I'm studying him, picking apart every micro-expression, anything that would help me better understand what is going on behind those eyes. The wind shifts through the trees, carrying the scent of the ash from the now dying campfire. Somewhere deep in the forest, I can hear wolves answering one another with distant howls, but even their voice is muted in comparison with the storm brewing in my m

  • The Luna's Blood Moon: She Refused To Bow   CHAPTER 60: HOME?

ORVAX'S POV Cassian holds my stare for a long time, both of us locked in an unspoken stare off and neither of us ready to back down for the other. A tired wheeze escapes his lips, his eyes glazing over as he breaks eye contact.“We have said a word that is a lie to you…or to her.”A laugh threatens to bubble out of my throat but I force it back down. “While that may be true, it doesn't change the fact that you have indeed hidden a lot of truths from her.”“I don't know what you're talking about."“Oh, but I highly doubt that is true. You know exactly what I am talking about." Cassian's jaw clenches, a sudden frost creeps into his eyes and he is stripped of all traces of warmth that he might have managed to have before.“You’re right, there are some truths that have been kept away from her.”"Why? Don't you think you're doing more damage to her, hiding the truth away from her like this?”"Some truths are better left where they belong, because they don't wait patiently once they'v

  • The Luna's Blood Moon: She Refused To Bow   CHAPTER 41: WHY HE CAME

MENODORA'S POV The silence that follows after I take that single step towards Orvax feels even louder than any argument that has ensued here today. It wasn't something I had planned to do beforehand, but somehow watching Orvax stand there, subdued by the words of his father, I found myself standin

  • The Luna's Blood Moon: She Refused To Bow   CHAPTER 35: BEAST OF ROGUE LAND

MENODORA'S POV Sleep didn't come easy to any one that night. The territory breathed and moved differently after the intruders’ attack. Orvax ordered for the security to be tightened and he seems more on edge, ready to pounce at any time. And the other wolves within the mountain walls, it felt like

  • The Luna's Blood Moon: She Refused To Bow   CHAPTER 34: THE GIRL BENEATH THE MOON

ORVAX'S POV “Who is the one who sent you?"My question is met with chilling silence, the both of us locked in a staring contest. "The one who sent me does not matter, you should hand the girl over. For the safety of you and your territory.”Behind me, the comforting warmth of Menodora's presence

  • The Luna's Blood Moon: She Refused To Bow   CHAPTER 32: THE HEAT OF WANT

MENDORA'S POVOne thing I have quickly come to learn since we arrived in the mountains is that night always falls fast and hard. The wind screams through the cliffs as fires could be seen burning across the village below like little sparkles of light. I'm bored beyond words. Sitting in the room the
