LOGIN"How dare you!" Sniper growled at Kon.
"I dare you much." Kon narrowed his eyes at the man. "If you don't know where to keep your hands, you'd better seek ways to cut them off your shoulders and stick them down your throat." Kon turned and started for the door, without bothering about those around.
The men with the sniper tried to stop him, but the Mafia devil raised his hand, signalling that they should allow him to pass.
He was still awed by the youth who looked as fearless as a wolf.
It pleased him to see Sniper brought to his knees.
"This will teach you to go for those on your level." He smirked as he watched Sniper glower.
The Mafia devil knew it wasn't over for the boy, but at least he was safe until they left.
However, the Mafia devil didn't intend to allow the sniper to get to the boy before him.
Any fellow who could bring the egoistic sniper to his knees was worth keeping.
"Rubbish!" Kon fumed in irritation as he left the place. He felt like kicking everyone he saw, but he kept his temper in check.
He was still in his workplace, so it wasn't ideal to rant in fury there.
"Trouble in paradise?" Nat chuckled when he saw the expression on Kon's face.
"There's more than trouble in paradise." Kon proceeded to tell Nat everything that had happened. "Can you believe that idiot? He's lucky I'm in a good mood. Had it not been for that, I would have shown him exactly what I'm made of."
"Wait a minute." Nat furrowed his brows at Kon. "I need to get something straight."
"Yes, what is it?" Kon frowned as he checked the time.
"You went into the room where the Mafia devil was and kicked one of his men?"
"Of course, I did."
"Are you sure it's the Mafia devil you saw? It can't be the Mafia devil, else your life will be in danger."
Everyone knew who the Mafia devil was. And they knew the Mafia devil wasn't a person to be trifled with.
You don't cross him and go scot-free. It's not possible.
"He was there. Although I didn't get to see his face, he was there. And mind you, I don't care."
"You don't care? What if he—"
"He can do nothing to me, Nat. You don't have to seem so surprised and all that. The Mafia devil will do nothing to me. I don't have a cause to be afraid of him."
"Oh, you—"
"I have orders to deliver, Nat. I don't have the time to stand here and converse with you," he said before he left, with Nat standing with his hands folded as he observed the fearless Kon.
"I hope you don't get in trouble." He sighed as he watched Kon.

"I'm leaving!" Kon waved at them.
He had changed out of his work clothes and was now putting on a sports shirt with the baggy shirt he got from the thrift store.
"Have a good night!" Marie called from the back as she too got ready to leave.
"You too!"
The bar was still in full force as Kon left. However, it was time for his shift change.
Although the bar employed him despite knowing he was still a student, they maintained a principle.
He wasn't supposed to work until midnight. And that's why he was leaving at this time.
"Bye!" Kon waved at the bouncer who was standing at the door.
"Bye." Tim beamed as he watched him leave. "Be careful out there! It's dangerous for young boys like you to walk the streets alone."
"Oh, don't worry. I'm going to be safe. You don't have to worry about me at all. I'm a big boy."
"If you say so."
"I do."
Kon grinned as he left the bar and headed towards the alley that would lead him straight to the run-down excuse of a house he was living in with his mother.
The Mafia devil, who was patiently waiting for him to leave, signalled his men to call him.
"Excuse me." The men in suits called to Kon, whose attention wasn't on the black cars but on his destination.
"How may I help you?" He narrowed his eyes at the men as he got ready for a confrontation with them.
Kon knew he couldn't defeat them in one go; however, he was still determined to try.
He would not back down without a fight.
"I—"
"If you have nothing important to say, you'd better—" He turned to leave, but one of the men blocked his path and prevented him from leaving.
"What's this?" He narrowed his eyes.
"Our boss is calling you," one of the men said.
"Your boss?" He narrowed his eyes at the men. "And who the hell is your boss? Doesn't he have a name?"
"The Mafia devil."
"What?" Kon frowned. "Is that a person's name?" He tightly held on to the strap of the bag.
"Yes. Our—"
"Go and tell your boss that I'm not coming anywhere. If he wants to talk, he can come by himself. If not, I'm leaving." Kon tried to leave, but the men blocked him.
The Mafia devil sat in his car and watched the drama unfold in front of him.
Just like he had expected, the boy wasn't ready to budge. He seemed ready to take everyone head-on.
"What a feisty little thing." He rubbed his jaw as he watched Kon. The boy had interested him at first; however, looking at him now, he felt the need to tie him to his bed and do unimaginable things to him.
He imagined how fun it would be to break someone as feisty as the boy in front of him.
Meanwhile, Kon was still arguing with the men, who were hell-bent on taking him to their boss.
They all knew what would happen should they fail to bring him to the boss.
He would have their heads for their inability to complete a task.
"Fuck," Lin glanced up to see more than five cars blocking them.Behind them were three cars. On one side was a residential building, and on the other side were three cars."What should I do, boss?" The driver asked in a neutral tone. He wasn't alarmed at all because this wasn't his first time being in a situation like this."Wait," Lin ordered. "Are you okay?" He turned to Kon with a concerned expression on his face.Kon nodded."Boss?""Wait!" Lin snapped at the driver. "I'm waiting for something."He said as he glanced at the car in the middle. It wasn't difficult to know that Osy was in that particular vehicle.A man dressed in black exited the vehicle and walked over to the back door. He bowed as he opened the door. And out stepped Osy."Osy?" Kon gasped.Images assaulted him at the sight of the same man his mind conjured not too long ago.He blinked.Lin frowned. "Wait for him to advance, knock into him, and take a right through the forest," he instructed his driver, then turned
"Quick, let's call your dad." Melina took out her phone to call Osy. However, before the phone could be answered, Kon and Lin were already out of the mall. They were halfway across the parking lot."What is it, Melina?" Osy snapped at his sister the moment he answered the phone. He was pissed off when he was disturbed while still seeking Lin's hideout."Your daughter saw your wife," Melina answered without beating about the bush. She knew it was urgent."What? Where was it? Is he there? How—""The mall. He was with his best friend. However, they are not here any more. They ran the moment Toto saw them," she explained as fast as she could."Shit!" Osy threw his phone to the wall. "Get the men ready. Call the office, and ask them to block all the ways in the city. Don't let the dark Lord slip from our grasp," he ordered Scorpion, who was beyond excited to leave Osy's presence. It was difficult enough kneeling in front of the devil all day."Yes, my Lord." He bowed to him before he rose
"Fuck!" Osy pushed the table down in anger. "How could you have let him leave alone!?" He growled at Scorpion."I'm sorry, master. I will take full responsibility for it." Scorpion bowed to him. "I will get him back," he said, tightly shutting his eyes and clenching his fists."It's too late." Osy showed him a message he got on his phone. "The Dark Lord is with him.""What?" Scorpion widened his eyes. "Why did the Dark Lord take him? You've not had a clash with him."It was a puzzle to Scorpion. The Dark Lord was one of the most feared mafia lords in the entire country. Though he doesn't frequently appear, his name instils fear in the lives of those who have been unfortunate to meet him.Although his fame wasn't like that of the devil, people feared him more than the other mafia lords."He's Kon's best friend," Osy gritted his teeth."Lin?" Shocked, Scorpion took a step back."Yes. He's the one with Kon," Osy said, walking to the window. "We have to find Kon. Take Toto back to my sist
"I'm sorry, Kon," Lin stepped closer to a struggling Kon. "Trust me, I never wanted to do this. But you left me with no choice.""Why are you doing this, Lin?" Kon furrowed his brows at him."Why am I doing all this?" Lin laughed. "Hasn't it always been obvious? I'm doing this because I love you, Kon." He touched Kon's cheeks. "I've always loved you. I can't think of a time when I never loved you.""No, that's not true," Kon shook his head. "You are my best friend, Lin.""But not to me," Lin sighed. "I only pretended to be your best friend so I could keep staying next to you."Kon huffed. "Okay, let's leave that out. How did you end up here? I thought we came to see your parents?" Kon tried to use that to check if Lin might let him go."Parents?" Lin scoffed. "I have no parents, Kon. The woman I lived with was the caregiver my uncle brought to look after me.""But…" Kon blinked. "You called her 'mother.'""Is there anything wrong with that?" Lin grinned. "I didn't see anything wrong w
Kon yawned. His head was pounding, and he was sweating. He blinked, looking around. He was in a strange room, with black pieces of furniture all around, but that wasn't his problem; it was the headache. He placed a hand on his head at the searing pain. It felt as if his head was about to split into two.Kon rose from the bed and slowly walked to the door. He tried the doorknob, and the door opened. With his hand clutched to his head, he walked out of the room and headed down the corridors. His mind was fuzzy. He didn't recall a thing. And when he tried to recollect, a searing pain through his head was all that greeted him as he staggered in the hall.He placed a hand on the wall to keep himself from falling."Kon?"An alarmed Lin rushed towards him, prompting him to stop.He squinted at the person in front of him as his mind tried to place the face. However, the scalding pain in his skull made him tightly shut his eyes. He grasped the nearest doorknob."What are you doing out here?" L
Scorpion looked reluctant."It's okay. You don't have to keep your face like that." Kon chuckled at the expression on his face. "You don't have to tell your boss anything. I will be back before you notice my absence.""And what of Toto? Do you think she will keep her mouth shut?" He furrowed his brows."Take her to get some ice cream. And should she ask of me, tell her I went to school to get a textbook I forgot." He pouted. "Please, Scorpion. Lin is my best friend; I need to help him.""Can't he go on his own? Doesn't he know you are dating my boss?" Scorpion folded his arms in displeasure. His words caused Kon to roll his eyes. "He's my best friend, Scorpion. You don't have to act as if I'm cheating on Osy behind his back. Besides, it's not as if I'm dating him.""Let him not hear those words from your mouth," Scorpion grumbled under his breath, looking a bit like a grumpy grandfather."So, am I free to go?" He blinked as cutely as he could. "Am I?" He pursed his lips. "Uncle Scorpi
