LOGINBianca’s POV
The hall erupted in gasps of surprise at his words. I staggered back, struck by his words. The little air that had gathered in my lungs was punched out as my breath began to leave me in small gaps. My eyes blurred, my vision swimming before me as my entire world began to tilt on its sphere. “No…” the words barely escaped my lips whole. They sounded how I felt–broken. He couldn't possibly mean that. "Why are you rejecting me?" I demanded in a shrill voice as I clutched my chest with my hands. Marcus’s voice did not falter when he spoke. “You are weak and unworthy to be my Luna. The Luna is to be a pillar of strength and a champion who can match her Alpha. She is not to ne a fragile healer who can’t even stand on her own." The words hit me like an avalanche. "And that is what you are Bianca.” I shook my head, unwilling to accept what he was saying. My chest tightened the more. "Weak? You didn't think of that when you fucked me three nights ago?!" I screamed. His eyes widened, but he quickly recovered his composure. "You were in my bed willingly Elara, I didn't force you." I nearly choked on my tongue as he turned to Selene and took her hand. He drew her close and lifted her hands high for everyone to see. “This is the woman I choose,” Marcus declared. My heart sank to my stomach. He was really going to reject me for her? “She is strong and noble," he began. "She come from a bloodline that is worthy of standing beside me as Luna. Together we will build a secure future for this pack.” "No, no," I shook my head weakly. The tears burned my eyes, covering my vision as it poured out like an angry rain after a sunny week. I couldn't believe it. This couldn't be real. It had to be a nightmare. Selene turned to me and I saw her smirk curve into a full smile. My knees began to give out beneath me but he grabbed me by the shoulders before I could greet the ground. His eyes bored into mine. I saw nothing of the Marcus I knew: only impatience and mercilessness was lurking behind those glassy orbs. I saw it in them, his decision. His mind was made up. "I reject you Bianca, accept the rejection lest I use force," he bellowed in my face. "Do you accept?" He demanded. I had no choice. I could agree or be forced to. I would rather let go. "Yes, I accept," I whispered in a weak voice. The invisible bond between us instantly shattered. I screeched as pain followed, rippling through me after his inconsiderate and merciless words. My chest constricted. A scream tore through my throat as it burned me. He let go of me to battle him own pain and I collapsed to my knees. The mate bond was running through me like the fires of hell and breaking me apart cruelly on the inside. I saw my healing light go off like a candle in a storm. “Marcus!” I gasped. I clawed at the floor as if I could hold on to it. “Please… don’t do this. You are hurting me. You are destroying me,” I begged through my tears. But, he didn't listen. No one did. Marcus didn’t even look at me in pain, surprising me who was almost dying in my knees. He turned instead to Selene, leaving me to wallow in agony. "My Luna!" He announced. The entire pack ululated; some were clapping and whistling in approval while the others were torn. My vision blurred with tears and the agony inside my chest made it hard to breathe. It felt as if broken glass was stuck deep in my chest, piercing my heart tissues either each tear. I could only hear voices buzzing in whispers around me. “But she really wasn’t strong enough.” “I always knew Marcus deserved someone else.” “Bianca is good but she is not the best for Luna.” “Poor girl… this could have been done differently.” My hands shook uncontrollably as my healing power began to flash in weak, unstable sparks. The broken bond had affected it. It had broken too. It had broken alongside the years I had spent with this man, my mate, who was discarding me for another woman. “Marcus…” I whispered again with desperation. “Please...” But his back was already turned to me and he was buried in Selena’s arms like nothing had just happened. "And I want to also announce, that my new Luna is expecting our first child and the heir to our pack." I froze. My eyes widened. Expecting? Marcus had been cheating on me? With her? I screamed. "No! No! That's not true!" I yelled. But nobody glanced at me. The crowd ululated at the news while my heart shattered into a gazillion uncountable pieces. The shards of betrayal pricked me deeper when I clutched my chest, weeping in anguish at what was lost. He had called me the most beautiful, undressed me and fucked me hard just three nights ago. All those words, I thought he meant them, telling me we were mates who would be mated. All of those tactics just go get into my bed and into my pant. I was so gullible. I recalled all of our times together, me and him, the early stages of our relationship. I recalled the late stages, the cold dismissal and the replies her had given me lately. I recalled how the time we had spent had significantly been reduced. He had either been with the council or with Selene, discussing pack business. They discussed pack business in his throne room, in his office, in his study. And even in his bedroom. Marcus had said it was nothing. He had lied. I realized that it had never been me. I was never his. It must have always been her. Selene. My world had just ended. I wept, lamenting in the midst of those who celebrated and gloated over my misfortune. I cried till I saw feet in front of me. I raised my face to see Councilman Reid He was one of the most respected elders of the pack and he was staring down at me. His expression was unreadable but his eyes were not cruel or cold like Marcus. They were heavy with something else that was apparently worse than pity. “Child,” Reid murmured. He bent down close enough to me so that I was the only one who could hear him. “Get up and pull yourself together. We need to talk now, about your future in this pack.” My heart which was though torn and bleeding instantly skipped a beat. What was happening? “My… future?” I rasped. My voice was barely audible. Reid’s expression darkened. “You won’t have one here if we don’t act quickly.” Confusion washed over me. "Why?" I demanded. "Because a cast out Luna is seen as a threat and always thrown out of the pack." I immediately felt faint. Everything rapidly blurred and the hall began to spin all around me. Marcus’s rejection was still burning in my veins and Reid’s words had only just cut it as deep as the rejection. My life in this pack would be over? How was this all happening? I swayed as my vision dimmed but Councilman Reid’s grip steadied my body. The last thing I heard was his whisper, low but urgent as it rang loudly in my ear. “Everything you thought you knew was a lie.”Bianca's POVLogan stepped into light, his face looking puzzled. Sapphire smirked, “ My lord, the maids has refused to listen to your rule. One of them even hurled a rock in the attempt to harm her.”Hearing this, Logan finally snapped. The maids fell to their knees, just a look at Logan's face showed their life were in danger. “You all will be stripped of your royal tittles, whipped and cast into the dungeon for a week.”“If any of you attempts to harm my mate ever again, you will be beheaded in front of your entire family!” His voice shook the building. Then came silence, utter silence.I stared in disbelief. “Did he just call me his mate? I just have misheard him or something. The words were clear, I heard it!” I thought to myself. His guards arrived, the noise had attracted their attention. “Send the words across the pack. The penalty for attempting to harm the healer would be death. I will have their heads!”The soldiers bowed, two of the six left to deliver the message. The res
Bianca's POVSapphire emerged from the quarters, Kieran left me without saying anything else. “My lady, I have searched everywhere for you.”I took a deep breath, we both left for the office again. This time, I walked in and barely recognized the office again. There was barely a spot left untouched, Sapphire had changed the room in such a short time.I turned to her.“Oh, I threatened the maids to report this to the Alpha, they had no choice but to clean everything up.” Sapphire stated.“Oh, I see. That makes sense now.”The only source of light was from a small window, thankfully the sun was up and shining bright. The room was well illuminated.I instructed Sapphire to leave and return with lamps to lit up the room incase I was to work late at nights. She left, I finally had the room to myself. Not knowing where to start from, I dragged my feet across the room, staring at everything. Many sketches were hung up on the wall, tons of files were piled on a table.I suddenly paused. I rus
Bianca's POVI walked into this dusty old room with Sapphire. It looked like it hadn't been used in month, which I found weird considering many healers had supposedly been there before me.Sapphire looked surprised as well, she immediately grabbed a piece of clothing and started cleaning the office.“ I'm sorry about this mam but I don't know why it's still in this state. Some maids were instructed to clean everything up days before your arrival, I assumed them must have handled it.” Sapphire stated. For some reason, she seemed terrified that she didn't kick things off with a great start.I sighed and moved around a bit, the office didn't seem bad, it just looked completely abandoned. Seeing Sapphire had immediately gotten busy with cleaning the room, I left to take another walk around. This time, the sun illuminated most part of the pack.As I scrolled around, I realized it wasn't exactly the ideal pack I would want to live in. Just outside the pack house, the people around suffered
Bianca's POVLogan stepped closer, his chest was just only about an arm stretch from me. I could almost feel his heavy breaths from where I stood.“My Lord, she was just lost and was asking for help.” The maid quickly said.“But I heard a lot of noise, it didn't sound like you were answering questions. It sounded like you were hurling insults at her. For your sake, that was not the case, right?” He turned to me, “What happened?”I cleared my throat, “Umm, yes. It's just like she said, I was just lost and she was about to help me find my way back to my chamber.”His angry face immediately calmed down after hearing this from me. He nodded slightly and turned around, “Come with me.” Logan said and walked off. I quickly followed him. Each step be took outpaced me, I had to walk fast to even keep up with him.“You might struggle to fit in here, Every other healer has all faced the same struggles.” Logan started.I walked faster to keep up with him, “But I'm just here to help, why are they
Bianca's POVKieran's order was to stay inside but my curiosity was far stronger than his command, I was itching to figure who was behind the door.Slowly, I approached the door before pulling it open. Standing outside the doorway was a woman dressed in fancy silk, one could tell how important she was by just staring at her.“Who..who are you?”“I must speak with you immediately.” She said, attempting to walk in.I reluctantly paved way for her and she stepped in. “You are the new healer aren't you? I am Giselle, High priestess of the Southern pack. You can call me lady Giselle.”I gazed at her again, she looked nothing like a priestess. Not like it mattered who she is, but I needed to know who she was in my room. Something felt off with how she spoke, it sounded like there was a dangerous issue that needed attention immediately.“I am Bianca..”“Yes, I know that already. You must be wondering why I'm here.”I nodded frantically.“Your arrival is not of the ordinary, I immediately not
Bianca’s POVA bond?A mate bond? That was impossible. But my breath caught violently. My body lurched as if I was struck by lightning. The air between us thickened.I felt the magnetic pull that dragged me forward against my will.It was a feeling that I recognized.I couldn’t miss it.“No,” I whispered, pulling myself back. “Not again.”He stepped into full view and my world tilted on its axis.Alpha Logan. He was taller than I had imagined. He had broad shoulders which pushed against the black leather that was sewn into his overall. His dark hair was tied back loosely and there was a scar from his temple to his jaw.It looked sharp and wicked. He wa attractive in a ragged way.But his eyes...They undid me.They looked cold and haunted. But even in the cold of those storm gray orbs I could see something burning with the same shock as me.He had felt it too.But trust the strong Alpha to maintain his composure. There was something different when our eyes met.It wasn’t as quiet as m
