LOGINCassandra
After hearing that, I acted like a coward. My heart was pounding too fast, my body trembling, and my legs moved—stepping away as if putting distance would keep me safe.
Then he left my room, I collapsed onto the bed. I didn't mean to fall asleep, but exhaustion took over.
By the time the sun had set, I woke up, my body still feeling uncomfortable. I managed to pull myself together and feel a little better, and just then, a message came through on my phone.
I opened it and read it, my eyes widening. A message from the woman who had been receiving my blood all this time.
Hi, I’m Isabella. I’ve finally regained consciousness, and thank you for taking care of Sebastian when I couldn’t. But now, you’re no longer needed. Sebastian only needs me.
Just reading that message made me feel utterly humiliated. I knew what my role had been all this time, but it didn’t stop the deep sadness from washing over me.
It’s like I really am… yeah, being connected to them never fails to make me feel worthless.
One more message came in, and it was a photo of Sebastian sleeping beside Isabella, holding her hand. It was the gentlest and most peaceful expression I had ever seen on Sebastian’s face, an expression I would never see during our marriage, not when he was with me.At last, the tears fell—unstoppable, flowing so heavily. They dropped onto the screen of my phone as my thoughts drifted away.
Ah, yes… I imagined them smiling together, holding hands. They would laugh, filled with happiness.
Meanwhile, I—the blood bag for Isabella—would leave like I never existed in their lives.
I would disappear quietly, just like always.I always felt that crushing sense of worthlessness whenever I woke up alone, looked around me, and ended up going home by myself with a weak body.
My breath grew heavier, the crushing in my chest intensified as if something wanted to shatter my heart. Oh God… it hurts so much.
A sharp pain struck my stomach. I clutched my belly, trying to ease the pain—but it was useless. My body started trembling, cold sweat breaking out across my skin.
The child inside me was still so fragile… I didn’t want to lose it, not at all. So I had to call someone, quickly.
As I scrolled through my phone, Sebastian’s contact appeared.
What would he do if he knew I was in pain?
I pressed the call. The call connected, and a soft female voice answered: “Hello?”
A sob caught in my throat. I couldn’t speak.
“Anyone there?” the voice asked again. I hung up immediately, a hot tear trailing down my cheek.
Of course he wouldn’t be the one to save me.
A moment later, I called Dylan. The only person I could trust.
Dylan answered my call quickly. “Sandra, do you want to know about—”
“Dylan… my stomach… it hurts… so…”
The pain felt like it was slicing through my stomach from the inside. I couldn’t bear it anymore, and even before I finished speaking, I lost consciousness.
Slowly, I opened my eyes when I heard a faint beeping. As my vision gradually cleared, I saw Dylan in front of me.
“Sandra, you’re finally awake. Thank goodness.” He spoke in a heavy voice and then gently stroked my hand.
But I moved a bit abruptly and held my stomach. “My baby… is my baby okay?”
His expression hardened, and his eyes sharpened. “You’re still thinking about his child after everything he’s done to you?”
I saw his breathing was heavy, and even his touch on my hand was a bit rough.
I lowered my voice. "It's not just his child... it's mine too. And the baby hasn't done anything wrong."
For a moment, he said nothing. Then he lowered his head and took a deep breath.
He looked at me again. “The baby is fine. The doctor said you have severe gastritis. It’s all because you haven’t been taking care of yourself for years—you often skip meals, Sandra…”
Dylan’s voice was filled with frustration.
But I knew why I ended up like this. For three years of marriage, I was the only one waiting at the dining table. I cooked his favorite meals and carefully arranged them on the table.
But Sebastian never came. He never cared about what I did.“Sandra, he never deserved you. You used to be so bright before marriage. You were brilliant and talented. And now that Sophia is awake, you don’t need to waste your time on him any longer.”
Those memories flooded my mind. Dylan was right—I used to draw so much attention, full of ambition.
I took a deep breath. “I’ll leave when everything is in place.”
I needed time to prepare myself for everything… And then… the next day, I was discharged from the hospital, with Dylan accompanying me. He held my hand as I opened the car door.
“Sandra—”
“It’s okay. I’m fine now.” I smiled and gently let go of his hand. I had already taken up so much of his time and troubled him enough.
After getting out of the car, I slowly walked into the house. It was only a few steps in when I was met with a scene that made me freeze.
Right there in the kitchen, a place Sebastian would never set foot in. but this night, he was there, cooking dinner with his sleeves rolled up.
Wasn’t that such a beautiful sight?
My body moved on its own, and just as I was about to speak, a soft voice echoed.
“Oh, hi Casandra..”
I turned toward the source of the voice, and I felt my blood run cold. I saw a woman with long hair, a pale and delicate pretty face, sitting in a wheelchair.
She was smiling sweetly, but I could clearly see the sharp glint in her eyes, filled with unspoken conflict.
“Nice to meet you,” Isabella purred softly. “Didn’t expect you to already be Sebastian’s wife.”
WindyWhat weighed heavily on my chest was guilt. Everything felt unbearably heavy.Tucker wasn't wrong. I really did need to think about myself. And I also realized that I had fallen into the habit of constantly blaming myself for everything that had happened. When Tucker threatened to jump, I was terrified. The thought of seeing him lying lifeless on the ground was horrifying. It truly would have been a nightmare. So I decided to do as he said.He promised he would take me to see Kael when the time was right. There were far too many reporters gathered around the hospital, all hoping to get a story about the two of us.I remained restless, wondering when the right time would be to visit without disturbing Kael while he rested.Throughout my stay at the hospital under Tucker's watch, he treated me with great care, though he remained just as strict.I thought I wouldn't get to see Kael at all that day. But that night, Tucker finally walked into the room."Come on. I'll take you to see
TuckerThe atmosphere that day was absolute chaos. The situation became even more chaotic after news spread that Windy was Kael's fiancée. Everyone was questioning why she hadn't appeared when Kael was in such a critical condition.I had already investigated what had happened. This wasn't just an ordinary accident. That man had deliberately thrown himself into the collision to injure himself. And the reason?Simply to force Windy to show up.He was completely insane.I looked around at the chaos caused by his reckless stunt. His family had finally arrived, but they were only doing what was necessary—just enough to stop the reporters from publishing more negative stories about them.I let out a long sigh.It was incredibly difficult to start this conversation, especially since the sharp glare she had been giving me all this time was anything but reassuring.Yes, Windy had finally been caught. Fifteen minutes ago, she had completely lost her temper, shouting and hurling insults at me wi
Tucker“You really aren’t angry with my son?”My footsteps immediately stopped when I heard my mom’s voice. I only wanted to listen for a moment to what she was saying.“Maybe this is better.” Aunt Emma’s voice sounded so weak. From a distance, I could see her letting out a breath until her shoulders lowered.I wouldn’t have met them if I hadn’t needed to go out—to deliver Windy’s sketchbook to Grace. After that, they contacted me, so I came here right away.During these past two weeks, even though Windy seemed fine and calm, I still hadn’t allowed her to leave. She might slip away from me and make a mistake.Yeah, even now, I still believed that she loved me.“Because I’m sick, Windy sacrificed too much for me, and in the end, it made me feel guilty toward her.” Once again, Aunt Emma let out a long sigh. “It’s hard for me to argue with her, and maybe because of what Tucker did, it might actually save her.”My mom held Aunt Emma’s hand.“But… he could make a mistake. Tucker… I’m afrai
WindyHave you ever been kidnapped, yet somehow felt lighter than before?Even the inspiration I once thought had disappeared started coming back so easily after I had stayed here for two weeks. At first, I was genuinely angry at Tucker for doing things his own way. I thought he was extremely rude, completely heartless, and that he was only doing this because he wanted to bother me.Yeah, maybe almost everyone in my position right now would think Tucker just wanted to prove how capable he was of disrupting my world.Maybe because we’ve known each other since childhood, the kind of disturbance that grows up alongside you starts to feel strange once it’s gone, right? That was how I saw Tucker. It’s just that now, maybe I’m the one who’s gone crazy, because little by little I’ve started thinking that living here isn’t so bad. I can sleep peacefully, and it makes my body feel calmer.Yes, that’s right. I can relax more.“I’ll send it to Grace.” Tucker held out his hand and raised an eyebr
Chapter 578WindyI didn't know where he was taking me, but it wasn't his house, and it wasn't mine either. It was a place I had never seen before, and right now, besides being furious, I was also terrified of this different side of Tucker."Let go, Tucker!" I shouted at him once again, my voice firm with authority. He didn't stop. He continued doing whatever he wanted, dragging me into a house before roughly throwing me onto the sofa. It was harsh—frightening."What the hell have you done!?" I screamed, glaring at him.He steadied his breathing. He didn't look at me at all, but I could see the overwhelming emotion radiating from him.As I looked around, everything about this place felt terrifying. I had never imagined he would do something like this to me."I had no choice but to do this," Tucker said at last, turning to face me. "I couldn't let you marry him.""As if—"My words were cut off when he suddenly leaned down toward me, caging me in with his arms braced on either side of m
WindyI'd left something behind at home. The designs I'd been working on were still there, tucked inside my sketchbook. Even though I could easily sketch on my tablet, I had always been more comfortable putting my ideas on paper first. This afternoon, I was meeting with a client. If I couldn't show them those designs, I was sure they'd be disappointed. After all, trust in a brand is something that should grow, not diminish."Windy?"Mom opened the door, but there was something strange about her expression. She looked genuinely startled to see me, though perhaps I was only imagining it. Brushing the thought aside, I stepped inside."Ah, I left something really important here."My gaze immediately shifted toward the second floor.I wanted to grab it as quickly as possible and leave. Whenever I was focused on my work, I felt far more at ease."What? Let Mom get it for you. You stay here." Mom said, taking hold of my arm.I smiled at her. "It's okay, Mom. I just need to grab my sketchbook.
CassandraWith an uneasy feeling, I watched as Sebastian immediately assigned Alden to look for the person I had photographed earlier.I was sure Alden could be relied on to gather that information. Still, my heart was restless, I didn’t want anything bad to happen, nothing more than this. After fi
