Daisy's POV

I stagger backward in shock at the chaos I have just caused. Everyone around us makes whispering noises and points fingers at me. The microphone slips from my sweaty palms and falls right to the floor making a loud thud noise.

Suddenly, Luna rushes towards my direction with Rosa behind me, not to mention, Rosa is already dressed in her wedding gown. I can not help but admire how gorgeous she looks, I suddenly feel guilty for having to ruin her wedding, even though she ruined my relationship with Dickson.

"What did you just do?" Luna growls at me angrily. Her hands reach for the collar of my shirt and she lands her five fingers on my face. Iblink back the tears that threaten to fall from my eyes and I place my hand over my mouth to block the sobs that threaten to escape from my lips.

"How could you?" Rosa cries out, she falls on one of the empty seats and breaks down into tears.

"You promised to keep it a secret from everyone. How could you do this to your own sister publicly? On her own wedding day! All the elders of the pack heard you! What will they think of our family?" Luna attempts to slap my other cheek but I hastily cover my face with my palms.

"Enough!" A masculine voice with a commanding tone yells loudly. Everyone including me avert our gazes to the leader of all elders, Elder Maxwell. He stands with so much authority, everyone in the pack fears and respects him because of his vast knowledge and impeccable wisdom.

"Dickson and the family of Luna Reed, gather at the chamber hall for a meeting with the elders immediately!" Elder Maxwell orders. His voice is stern and it reeks of authority and control.

The whispering noises grow louder and everywhere suddenly turns into pandemonium. Luna rushes towards Elder Maxwell and questions "What about the wedding? Everything is already set and prepared. Can the meeting not be held after the wedding?" She flashes him pleading eyes.

"No! Never! The wedding has been cancelled. How can the wedding hold after such atrocity has been revealed?" Elder Maxwell snaps at Luna.

He hisses and slowly walks out of her presence. Dickson chases him from behind while Luna tries to plead with him, leaving just I and Rosa behind.

"You selfish bitch!" Rosa spits at me bitterly. I attempt to apologize to her but not a single word comes out of my mouth. I am too guilty to even come up with an excuse. What should I say? That Dickson was the one who kissed me first? That is no excuse!

Rosa and I eventually arrive at the chamber hall, Luna and Dickson are already seated with the other elders of the pack.

Elder Maxwell clears his throat and says "I believe Dickson and Daisy know the consequences of their actions."

"It was an accident." Dickson speaks too soon. Elder Maxwell scoffs in response and shakes his head at Dickson in disappointment.

"You are the Alpha now. Do you think you are allowed to make mistakes? Moreover, the law remains the law regardless of whatever reason is behind your actions." He says.

"What is the law?" I speak up for the first time. My tone is low and my voice only comes out as a mere whisper.

"The law states that an alpha must marry whoever he lays with for the first time." One of the elders read from a gigantic book. I gulp a lump down my throat as I process it, does that mean I have to marry Dickson because I laid with him?

"Then what will happen to me? This is exactly what that selfish bitch wanted! She forced Dickson to sleep with her just so she could marry him!" Rosa yells angrily. She runs a hand through her in frustration and mutters a cuss under her breath. She looks extremely furious and itscares me.

"Decorum!" Elder Maxwell orders. That is enough to keep Rosa quiet for the meantime. He turns to Luna and points at her. "You of all people should know the law. Is that why you wanted her to keep it a secret?" He fires at Luna.

I suddenly feel this guilt eating me up. Now I have put everyone in a tough situation, all thanks to my carelessness. I wish I could go back in time and stop my older self from sleeping with Dickson. Why did I do that even when I knew the consequences? Was it because I secretly wanted Dickson for myself?

"We need to come up with an agreement from you Luna. Dickson has to marry Daisy in order to obey the law. Any further disagreement will mean you do not respect the Moon Goddess, the one who made our law. Therefore, whoever disagrees will be killed." Elder Maxwell states.

There is really no way out of this. I run a hand through my hair and gaze at Dickson.

"I will marry Daisy." Dickson says. He pauses to sigh heavily and continue. "I refuse to break the law that my forefathers have kept sacred all these years. I love Rosa but the Moon Goddess knows best for us."

I manage to hold myself back from scoffing loudly. He loves Rosa? I hate that Dickson is only marrying me because he does not want to disobey the law. It makes me feel like a second option.

I rub my temple and avert my gaze to Rosa, she looks like she is one step from killing me completely.

"Dickson has spoken well. I will let Daisy marry Dickson for the sake of the law. I hope their marriage flourishes and they bear children for the pack." Luna says, she pauses to eye me.

"Then over to you, what is your decision? To obey or disobey the law?" Elder Maxwell points at me.

I do not have a choice. I can not disobey the law. "I will accept Dickson as my husband."

"That’s where you’re wrong. I was born in this city. Just like her."Rosa raised her blade. "You were banished.""Banished," Silas repeated. "But not broken."Zuri stepped closer to me. "Mom, don’t let him touch you."Silas tilted his head. "The child speaks the truth. She sees far.""Leave now," Rosa warned."Or what?" he asked. Rosa’s POVThe last time I walked this far into rogue territory, Lycan was alive. Now I walked with his name burning inside me like a vow.Every step was a promise.A warning.A threat. The trees here were twisted, darker than I remembered. The air carried something foul—like blood that had dried long ago but never been washed away.Vera walked behind me. Two of our strongest warriors, Greer and Imani, followed closely. Quiet. Focused. We were looking for a cave the scouts marked. We were looking for **him**.Ignis.But I wasn’t just here for revenge.I was here for answers. And if I had to tear through a hundred rogues to get them, I would.\*\*“Are we close?” Vera asked, her voice low.I glanced at the map. “Just past that ridge.”She pulled her dagger tighter to her belt. “Good. Because I don’t like this place.”I looked around. “Neither do I.”Imani sniffed the air. “Wolves. Close.”“How many?” I asked. She frowned. “Too many.”I drew my blade.“Stay ready,” I warned. “This reeks

Daisy’s POVThe air was colder than usual. Maybe it was the wind. Or maybe it was fear.We left camp before sunrise.Zuri, Rosa, Vera, Lycan, Dickson, and me.Our destination was the **Crimson Wastes**—a dead forest burned in an ancient war, where Rosa believed Ignis might be hiding. No birds sang there. No animals walked. Just ash. Trees like skeletons. Smoke in the air, even though nothing burned.Zuri walked beside me, her hand in mine.“I’m not afraid,” she said.I squeezed her fingers gently. “I am.”She looked up at me. “Why?”“Because fire doesn’t choose randomly. If Ignis is watching you, it’s for a reason.”Zuri went quiet.I didn’t say more. But I could feel something changing inside her—growing stronger. And it scared me.Rosa’s POVWe reached the edge of the Wastes by noon. The land was black and broken. The trees had no leaves. The ground was cracked. The sky looked darker here.Vera pulled her jacket tighter. “This place smells like death.”“It is,” I said. “No life grow

Daisy’s POV / Zuri’s POV / Dickson’s POVDaisy’s POVI was cutting apples in the kitchen when Zuri screamed. Not crying. Not whimpering.Screamed.The knife dropped from my hand.I ran.“Zuri!”I threw the door open. She was on the floor of her room, holding her head, shaking.“Zuri! Baby, what’s wrong?”Her eyes were wide. Her lips trembled.“He’s here.”“Who?”She pointed to the window. “The man from my dreams.”I rushed to the window. Nothing.“Dickson!” I shouted. He came running.“What happened?”“She saw something again. She says he’s here.”Zuri clutched my hand. “He’s not outside. He’s… inside.”Dickson turned. “Inside the house?”“No,” she whispered. “Inside someone’s head.”Zuri’s POVI didn’t know how to explain it.He was whispering again. Not in my ears, but inside my mind.“He says the moon is dying,” I told Mom.She stared at me. “Zuri, what does that mean?”I looked at her. “He’s coming when it turns black.”Dickson knelt beside me. “Zuri, focus. What did you see?”“A

Daisy’s POV“What We Choose To Feel”It was the silence after storms that always scared me most. The stillness wasn’t peace. It was waiting.I sat alone on the edge of the porch, the night heavy with dew. Stars overhead blinked lazily, uncaring of the chaos that had passed.Zuri was asleep.Tobi too.For the first time in what felt like years, there were no screams, no knives, no blood pooling in corners of rooms we once called safe.Just this moment. And me.Then the door creaked behind me.I didn’t have to turn to know it was him.“Couldn’t sleep either?” Dickson asked quietly.I shook my head.He stepped beside me, barefoot, shirt clinging to him from the heat of the house. There was a tiredness in his eyes, but something more—a tightness in his jaw, a quiet storm behind those eyes.We didn’t speak for a while. Not because we had nothing to say.But because we were finally ready to say everything.“Zuri told me something today,” I whispered. He glanced over. “What was it?”“She sai

Tobi and Zuri’s room was at the far end. I opened the door slowly.Zuri was gone.My heart stopped. Then a whisper.“Mom?”She stood by the window, arms wrapped around her stuffed bunny.“Zuri!” I rushed to her. “What are you doing?”She looked up at me. “He’s watching us.”I knelt beside her. “Who?”“The man from before.
