MasukVALENTINA
My heart was pounding so hard it hurt. I looked at this man, this vile human who was the only person offering me a way out of my shame. The bond between us hummed low, pushing me to say yes.
I wiped my nose with the back of my hand and looked up at him.
"Tell me, what do I have to do?".
And then he moved even closer, his shadow swallowing me. "This is the Val I know," he said in a low tone.
"Don’t come any closer," I snapped, though my voice lacked conviction. "And you do not know a thing about me."
"Oh, yes I do," he said, reaching out to tangle his fingers in the side of my hair. "I call the shots, so I tell you what to do." He tapped my cheek, a gesture that felt more like a brand than a touch and then he strode back to the large leather sofa.
The room felt colder the moment he stepped away. His face had shifted into a small, sharp frown that meant business. I hated the way he sounded, but my body was a traitor. His scent was making my head spin. I was angry and horny at the same time, it was a sick, confusing emotion that made my skin feel too tight.
He picked up a fat cigar and lit it, the orange glow illuminating the hard lines of his tattooed chest. He blew a cloud of thick smoke into the air, watching me through the haze.
"First, Valentina," he began, "I demand total monopoly on your loyalty and your brilliance." He leaned back, his eyes tracking the way I was still trembling. "I know how you work. I know you built Harold’s throne, and now you’re going to build mine. To get my protection, I require your Oath."
"My Oath?" I countered, my hands balling into fists. "You want me to just hand over my mind to you? I spent years being a ladder for Harold and Agatha. I’m not becoming another step for a man to climb."
Horace chuckled, but there was no humor in it. "You aren't a ladder here, Valentina. You’re the weapon. But a weapon that doesn't belong to a master is just a piece of scrap metal."
"I am not a piece of metal," I hissed. "I knew all Harold’s weaknesses. That information is worth more than your protection."
"Then use it," he challenged, his voice dropping to a low growl. "But you do it under my name. You eat when I say, you sleep where I tell you, and you never look at another man, especially not my cousin unless it’s to watch him bleed."
He stood up slowly, the smoke clinging to him like a shroud. He didn't rush, but suddenly he was in my space again. He didn't touch me, but the heat radiating off his bare skin was enough to make my knees weak.
"You want revenge?" he whispered, leaning down until his lips brushed my ear. "Revenge isn't free. It’s a debt paid in blood and submission. You think you’re tough because you survived a cheating boyfriend?
“You’re a wolf-less girl in a world of monsters. Without me, Agatha will have you back in Harold’s bed by morning."
I looked at the ice in his blue eyes. I was terrified of him, but I was more terrified of going back to being the girl who cried while others took everything from her.
"I want him ruined," I whispered, my voice thick with a thirst for vengeance. "I want to see the moment he realizes he lost everything to the man he hates most."
"Then sign your soul over to the Reaper," Horace murmured. He traced the line of my jaw with his thumb, forcing me to meet his gaze. "From this moment on, you don't breathe unless I give you the air. Do we have a deal, Valentina?"
I felt the slick heat between my thighs and the cold iron of his intent. I wasn't just joining a team, I was entering a cage with a predator.
"Deal," I breathed.
"I’m going to have the contract ready soon," Horace said, his voice sounding like a threat in the small space between us. "I don’t let people go back on their word. If you try, I will hunt you down.
And I dare not see you with that bastard Harold again, or it will be the end of you, just like my pretty late girlfriend"
From this moment on, he demanded total control. I couldn't write, plan, or think for anyone but the Ravagers wolves. He wanted me to take apart every play I had ever built for Harold.
"Is that all?" I asked, trying to sound bold, as if I hadn't just agreed to ruin a man’s life in exchange for luxury and revenge.
Deep down, part of me wanted him to stop talking and just keep fucking me. But I couldn't let him see me as needy. I didn't want that to be his first impression of the real me. Fuck, I thought, my mind racing. How did I really just tell this man to fuck me?.
"No, that is not all," he said, his eyes darkening as they moved over me. "You’ll have to dye your hair black. I hate blondes. So that will be all for now".
"What?" I stepped back. "I cannot do that. I won’t hide who I am just because you can't deal with it". I raised a brow, challenging him. "You’ve asked for so much already. All I get in return for my energy is making him jealous? Horace, I won't change my hair for you.
“Are you still interested, or not?".
He didn't yell. Instead, he reached out and buried his large hands in my pale, blonde hair again. "As much as I hate it, I can deal with this for now," he rasped.
Then he crashed his mouth onto mine. It wasn't a slow build, it was a sudden, starving invasion. I moaned into his mouth, my tongue meeting his in a messy, desperate dance of spit and heat.
I leaned into him, my body yearning for him, as his heavy hand slid down to my bum, squeezing the flesh firmly. He caressed me with a rough possession that made my head spin, and I found myself pulling him closer, terrified the feeling would stop.
Just as I was losing myself to the taste of him, he pulled away sharply. He wanted me to starve for it. He wanted me to feel the hunger clawing at my gut. He looked down at me, a dark smirk on his face, and then he delivered a sharp, stinging spank to my butt.
"See you whenever I call for you," he said, his voice trailing over my skin.
HORACEI found the idiot at the underground parking structure three blocks from the venue.Harold was moving fast, head down, keys already in his hand, trying to reach the black sedan parked in the far corner. He didn’t hear me until I was close enough to smell the leftover whiskey on him. When he turned, the color drained from his face so fast it was almost satisfying.“Horace…” I didn’t let him finish. The first hit took him across the mouth and sent him stumbling back into a concrete pillar. Blood immediately welled from his split lip. He swung wildly in return. I caught the punch, twisted, and drove my knee into his ribs hard enough to feel something give. “You tried to drug her,” I said, shaking with the effort of not ending it right there. “You tried to kill my her. You tried to kill my pup.”Harold spat blood onto the concrete and tried to laugh. It came out wet. “She was never yours to begin with…”I hit him again. The back of his head cracked against the pillar. He droppe
HAROLDEverything was gone.Horace leaked it all. Every dirty deal. Every bribe. Every illegal shipment and forged contract my father had ever touched. I still didn’t know how he got his hands on half of it, I didn't even know about most of them but the files were out there now public, irreversible, and burning through the pack like wildfire. The council called an emergency meeting the same night the story broke. I sat in the back of the hall and watched the whole thing turn from awkward to ugly.It started out funny. One of the older council members cleared his throat too many times and tried to read the charges in a voice that kept cracking. Someone in the second row snorted when the list of companies came up. Another muttered that at least the alpha had been creative. For a few minutes it felt like a bad comedy sketch. Well, until the general stood. “The alpha is supposed to protect this pack,” he said, voice flat and hard. “Not steal from it. Not use us as cover for his own p
HORACE The transfusion happened. The surgery followed. Hours later a different doctor came out and told us the bleeding had been controlled. The rare blood had taken. Tiffany was stable.Valentina exhaled like she had been holding her breath the entire time. I pulled her into my arms right there in the corridor, burying my face in her hair. “I love your kindness,” I murmured. “Even after everything she’s done to you, you still worried about her.”“Sometimes we have to look out for each other, right?” Valentina’s voice was soft against my chest. “Do you want to go home?” She shook her head. “Harold won’t come back. She has no one else right now.”“Then we stay.” Azriel’s voice cut in from behind us. “Seems you didn’t get my text.”I turned. My father stood a few feet away, hands in his pockets, expression unreadable. My mother joined him a moment later, a cotton ball taped to the inside of her elbow.I braced myself for the lecture I had been expecting for days. The dangers of ma
HORACEThe post game charity gala filled the grand ballroom with light and noise.Crystal chandeliers threw sparkles across the marble floors. A live band played smooth jazz beneath the constant clink of glasses and low laughter. Waiters slipped between groups with trays of champagne and small, perfect bites of food. The room was full of Sponsors, Teammates and even Charity board members hovered near the silent auction tables, already calculating the night’s donations. None of it held my attention for more than a second. Valentina stood beside me in a black dress that should have made her glow under the lights. Instead she looked pale. Too pale. The color had drained from her cheeks, and her fingers felt cool and slightly damp inside mine. Was it fatigue?I leaned closer so only she could hear me. “Are you okay, love?” She gave me a small smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “Just the crash after the game. Too much adrenaline, too many people. I’ll be fine once I sit for a minute.”
VALENTINA Despite that unpredicted setback, by the end of the first period we were up by two. I have Harold the fuck you sign when he stared at me again. My turn to gloat.Between periods, Horace skated over to the boards, helmet off, breathing hard. “You’re good?” he asked, eyes scanning my face. “I’m good. Go back and focus.”He nodded once and skated back. The second period grew uglier. Harold’s team kept playing dirty. I could see clearly from the stand that they kept intentionally doing it but no one was stopping or cautioning. Did they get bribed?I watched the late hits, sticks too high, bodies crashing into the boards harder than necessary. Horace answered every one of them easily but I was still worried he might crash out. The crowd roared every time he laid a clean, devastating check.I kept my eyes moving between the ice when a familiar figure caught my vision. It can't possibly be... Horace said he sent her away. Didn't he?I took a brave breathe and looked towards an a
VALENTINAWhen the roads finally cleared, we left the Toval estate behind. Despite my insistence, Horace didn't turn back to say goodbye to either one of them. The drive back to the city felt strangely quiet. Horace kept one hand on the wheel and the other on my thigh the entire way, his thumb tracing slow circles over my jeans like he was trying to seduce me. He probably was but there was no way I was letting him make us pull over to have sex in the car. The thought was hot though. I leaned my head against the window and watched the trees blur past, still half lost in the soft haze of the last few days. Days spent in sex and good and conversations I wish we'd had way sooner. It felt so dreamy. The mark on my neck pulsed warmly whenever he glanced at me, as if it refused to let either of us forget what we had become. Mates. My smile deepened. The penthouse felt different when we walked in. Familiar, yes, but quieter somehow. Well aside the maids and Marco who got out to greet
VALENTINAAll my life I had lived for a single vision, the day I’d finally pack my bags and move in with my everything. My boyfriend. My mate. In a world that felt constantly tilted off its axis, he was the only thing the Moon Goddess had ever gotten right. But I couldn't let myself daydream yet. N

VALENTINAHe laid me down on the bed, my body sinking into the mattress, still buzzing from the walk over, his cock still twitching inside me from the brief pause. But he didn't give me time to catch my breath. He pulled out slowly, a dragging sensation that made me whimper at the loss, then broug
VALENTINAThe warm water of the bathtub swirled around my skin, but it couldn't quiet the storm in my head. I leaned my head back against the cold tub, my body heavy with exhaustion. The Uber ride back had been a blur of New York lights, but all I could see was the raw, jagged pain in Horace’s eyes
