Irina Rashford appears to have a perfect life as a devoted wife and mother until betrayal shatters her world. Her husband, Tyler Rashford, and their son, Jacob Rashford, turn against her under the influence of their nanny, Karen Bason, leading to Irina being cast out of her home and stripped of her family. Devastated, Irina divorces Tyler and rebuilds her life from scratch, reclaiming her identity as Irina Solace. Through determination and ambition, she rises into a powerful billionaire businesswoman, founding the successful empire Irina’s Radiance with support from her sister Kate Solace and her assistant Maria Bonnett. During a business trip to New York, Irina’s life takes a dramatic turn after a chance encounter with a mysterious stranger during a night of emotional escape. The next morning, she discovers she must meet a major investor—only to realize the man is none other than Kyle George, the CEO of George & Sons Enterprise and the same man from the night before. Now caught between her past betrayal and a dangerously intense new connection, Irina faces a future where love, power, and consequences collide.

Chapter 1

Chapter 1 ; The family she lost.

Irina Rashford couldn’t sleep.

She sat by the window of the guest room, staring at the city lights beyond the glass. The room felt unfamiliar, cold, and painfully lonely.

For the first time in twelve years of marriage, her husband had locked her out of their bedroom.

The memory alone made her chest tighten.

Earlier that evening, she had stood frozen in the dining room while her son looked at her with eyes that held none of the love she remembered.

Only disappointment.

Only resentment.

Tears stung her eyes again.

She quickly wiped them away.

No.

She wouldn’t cry.

Not again.

Not over the same words.

Yet they replayed in her mind anyway.

“You were never there for us.”

Irina closed her eyes.

How could Jacob believe that?

Everything she had done was for him.

Every business trip.

Every late night.

Every exhausting meeting.

She had worked tirelessly to give him the life she never had growing up.

The best schools.

The best clothes.

The best opportunities.

And somehow, none of it mattered.

Somewhere along the way, she had lost her son.

And now she feared she was losing her husband too.

Her thoughts drifted to Karen.

Jacob’s nanny.

The woman Tyler insisted was “part of the family.”

At first, Irina had welcomed her.

She had trusted her.

Now she wasn’t so sure.

A bitter laugh escaped her lips.

Perhaps she had been too busy building a future for her family to notice someone else slipping into her place.

The thought hurt more than she wanted to admit.

Eventually exhaustion won.

As the first hint of dawn crept across the sky, Irina finally drifted into a restless sleep.

The next morning, the sound of raised voices pulled her from her dreams.

She checked the clock.

6:15 a.m.

Tyler was already awake.

So was Jacob.

Taking a deep breath, Irina stepped into the hallway.

Maybe today she could fix things.

Maybe today her family would finally listen.

As she approached the staircase, Tyler’s voice echoed from downstairs.

“You’re overreacting.”

“Am I?” another voice replied.

Karen.

Irina froze.

Her heart dropped.

Karen wasn’t supposed to return from her trip until next week.

Yet here she was.

Standing in Irina’s house.

Talking to Irina’s husband before sunrise.

Something inside her shattered.

And for the first time, she wondered if her marriage had already ended long before she realized it.

“Tyler?”

The conversation downstairs stopped immediately.

A heavy silence followed.

Then Tyler slowly turned toward her.

The look on his face told her everything.

Nothing would ever be the same again.

“Good,” he said coldly.

“You’re awake.”

Irina’s stomach twisted.

“We need to talk.”

The words sounded simple.

But somehow they felt like the beginning of the end.

Irina stood outside Jacob’s bedroom door for nearly a minute before gathering the courage to knock.

“Jacob?”

No answer.

She slowly pushed the door open.

Her son was sitting on the edge of his bed, staring at his phone.

For a brief moment, relief flooded her chest.

He looked like the same little boy she had tucked into bed every night.

The same little boy who once ran into her arms after school.

The same little boy who used to call her his hero.

Then he looked up.

The warmth disappeared.

“Mom,” she said softly.

Jacob’s expression hardened.

“What do you want?”

The words felt like a slap.

Irina forced herself to smile.

“I just want to talk.”

“We already talked.”

“No, we didn’t.”

Jacob stood up.

His jaw tightened.

“I’m tired of this.”

“Jacob—”

“You never listen.”

Irina stared at him.

“What are you talking about?”

“You care more about work than us.”

Her breath caught.

“That’s not true.”

“It is.”

“I work for this family.”

“But you’re never here.”

Pain spread through her chest.

She had missed dinners.

School events.

Weekend outings.

But she had always tried to make up for it.

Hadn’t she?

Before she could respond, another voice interrupted.

“Jacob.”

Tyler stepped into the room.

Immediately Jacob relaxed.

The difference was impossible to miss.

Irina’s heart broke a little more.

Tyler placed a hand on his son’s shoulder.

“You don’t have to explain yourself.”

“I know.”

Irina looked between them.

“When did this happen?”

Neither answered.

“Tyler,” she whispered. “What have you been telling him?”

His expression darkened.

“Don’t blame me for your mistakes.”

Her eyes widened.

“My mistakes?”

“Look around, Irina.”

He gestured toward Jacob.

“This is the result of years of neglect.”

“Neglect?”

She almost laughed.

“I gave everything to this family.”

“Not the things that mattered.”

Silence filled the room.

Then Jacob spoke.

Quietly.

But the words cut deeper than any scream.

“When Karen is around, it feels like we’re actually a family.”

Irina stopped breathing.

For several seconds, she couldn’t move.

Couldn’t think.

Couldn’t speak.

Her own son.

Her own child.

Choosing someone else.

Tears filled her eyes.

Still, she refused to let them fall.

“Is that really how you feel?”

Jacob looked away.

That was answer enough.

Irina turned toward Tyler.

“Where do we go from here?”

Tyler’s face remained cold.

Emotionless.

As though twelve years of marriage meant nothing.

“Divorce.”

The word echoed through the room.

Irina felt the ground disappear beneath her feet.

“Tyler…”

“It’s over.”

“No.”

“It is.”

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a folded document.

Then placed it on the table beside her.

Divorce papers.

Already prepared.

Already signed.

As if he had planned this for weeks.

Maybe months.

Irina stared at them.

Unable to breathe.

Unable to think.

Unable to believe that the family she had sacrificed everything for was slipping through her fingers.

“Pack your things,” Tyler said.

“You should be gone before tomorrow.”

And just like that—

Her world came crashing down.
