Mag-log inMARK
I allowed Ivy to kiss me, and I expected an instant arousal, but it wasn’t forthcoming. Ivy noticed it too.
“Mark, what’s wrong?” She asked me as she touched and caressed me. “You are still very soft,” she stated the obvious.
I sighed and fell in bed. I knew exactly what was making it hard for me to get a hard-on, but I did not want to tell Ivy about it, and it was very convenient to blame it on the fact that Alexa had pissed me off.
“I just have so much on my mind,” I told her, which wasn’t a lie, because my head was filled with those bloody men dancing around Alexa at the club.
“Is it the divorce with Alexa?” Ivy asked with concern in her voice.
I turned and looked at Ivy, telling myself that she was the woman I loved and the woman that I was really in love with.
“Yeah, yeah,” I said. “It is taking a toll on me,” I added.
“I know that you cannot wait to be free from her, and I could talk to my mum and our dad to force her into signing the papers since she is trying so hard to cling to you,” Ivy stated.
Well, Ivy had no idea what was really going on, and I did not want her to know that instead of signing, I had burned the papers.
“No, please,” I said.
“Why not?” Ivy asked.
“I don’t want your parents to think that I cannot handle things on my own, Ivy. I will figure this out as soon as possible,” I told her.
Right now, I would have appreciated being alone so that I could think of the right line of action to take, and also, I wasn’t even exactly comfortable with having Ivy in this house.
“I blame myself,” Ivy said as she looked at me with sad eyes. “One minute, I was away to fix something very important, and when I got back, she was already married to you,” Ivy added bitterly. “She is just a gold-digger.”
I shook my head, because I still could not wrap my head around all that really happened. I was comatose, so I did not exactly know what was going on in particular.
“You stayed by my side the whole time, right?” I asked, even though we have had this same conversation over and over again.
“Of course, I did,” Ivy said defensively. “Why wouldn’t I when I was your fiancé? The only mistake was trusting Alexa, not knowing that she is a slut who just wanted what belonged to me,” she added.
“Yeah,” I simply said, because my mind had gone back to the woman I saw at Dancing Devil a while ago, and everything in my head just kept telling me that she was different.
“I am just glad that you are fixing everything now,” Ivy said.
“Yes, I am too, but I need you to stop showing up here unannounced,” I told Ivy, making her shocked and hurt at the same time.
“But why not?” Ivy asked, pouting her lips like a spoilt kid.
“Alexa and I lived here as husband and wife, even though there was no love between us, so I need time to get her memories out of this house before I begin to entertain you,” I answered.
“Okay, that is quite understandable, but it is too late to go home now,” Ivy said.
“Yeah, you can manage in the guestroom until morning, and I will ask my driver to personally drop you off,” I said.
I could feel that Ivy was slightly upset and disappointed, but there was really nothing I could do. No matter what, I would not be able to get it hard, and it would only make things worse. My mind went to Alexa’s words about my sexuality, and I quickly shook it off my head.
There was nothing wrong with me, because Ivy and I had been having sex, so there was no need allowing her words to bother me, even though they were insulting. I was only finding it hard to get hard because of how upset I was.
The night went by real quickly, and after much thought and brewing anger, I finally fell asleep later in the night. When I woke up, my head was banging, and when I was informed of Vector’s presence, it made me more irritable.
“What are you doing here so early?” I asked Vector as I strolled downstairs, still in my robe.
“It is almost noon, Mark,” Vector said. “I can’t believe that you left the club before the rest of us but woke up last,” Vector joked.
I flopped on the couch as Vector also sat down. “Gosh, I need a cup of coffee to wipe off this hangover,” I said, groaning.
“Come on, Mark, you and I know that you barely touched your drink last night, so I believe that the hangover you are talking about is the mess that Alexa created in your head last night at the club,” Vector said coyly.
I wanted to be mad at him for bringing Alexa and last night up, but if I was being truthful to myself, I would admit that I didn’t need the help of anyone to remember or think about it, so instead, I decided to ask the very question that was plaguing my mind as I woke up.
“How much longer did you stay?” I asked Vector.
“Well into the night,” He answered.
“Did Alexa leave with any of the men from club?” I asked carefully, but it still aroused suspicion and mischief in Vector.
“Mark, I thought you didn’t care about Alexa…you are acting quite the opposite,” Vector teased.
“Just answer the question, please,” I said, trying not to sound too jealous even though I knew that I was failing at it. “I just need to know if she spent my money on any of those man-whores,” I added, trying to switch it.
“What?!” Ivy exclaimed in anger and disbelief as she walked into the living room. “So you couldn’t get hard for me because you were with Alexa last night?!” She asked, very furious.
“Shit,” I muttered; I had completely forgotten that Ivy slept over.
MARK“They will be right out in a second,” Mona told me.I nodded. Then she came and sat really close to me. I didn’t push her away or act uncomfortably. On the contrary, I allowed Mona to think that she had gotten exactly what she wanted from me.If she couldn’t succeed with Ace, she certainly couldn’t succeed with me.Ace told us what he had had to endure with Mona in their few years of marriage, and that included cheating.“I am not upset with you, Mark, because you are not the only man she cheated on me with. Right on our matrimonial bed, Mona was having sex with another man,” Ace had told us. “You have no idea how relieved I am that I was able to free myself from her and move on. I don’t ever want anything to do with her,” Ace had added. He had said a couple of other things, but one thing he hadn’t done was discourage me from being with Mona. However, I knew enough now to know that I would never want to be with her, even if Alexa wasn’t in the picture.Noelle was right.I had Ale
MARKWhile we waited for the plane to be ready for us, I caught sight of Noelle a few feet from us. She had taken a walk away from Vector and me.Without hesitation, I walked up to her.Noelle seemed to be doing something with her phone, and so engrossed was she that she didn’t notice my presence.“Hey, Noelle,” I called calmly.Still, Noelle jerked in shock.“I am sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you,” I apologized.“No, Mark, it’s fine. I just didn’t see you coming,” Noelle said, turning to face me.And that was when I saw that she was troubled. Instantly, I became worried about her.“Is everything okay, Noelle?” I asked her worriedly.“Yeah,” Noelle answered with a heavy sigh, but I just didn’t believe her.Not when she was having that look.“Come on, Noelle. I know that we have not always seen eye to eye, and we are not friends, but you can tell me if something is wrong,” I cajoled her tenderly.Noelle sighed again. It was as though something heavy was weighing her down.Again, I n
MARKSince Ace walked into his living room and started talking to us, his last statement was the first time I caught regret in his voice.Even when he mentioned Mona’s name before then, he didn’t sound embittered or upset. He simply sounded like a man who couldn’t care less.“Why would you say that?” Noelle asked Ace, speaking for the first time. And it was at the same time that I asked a question too.“Why did you leave her?”Ace stared at us, probably wondering what question to answer first, but Noelle and I didn’t plan to ask at the same time. Instead of answering, Ace had questions of his own.“Why are you really here, Mark Ronaldo?” Ace asked deeply. For the first time, he was sounding like a man speaking to the other guy whom his girlfriend cheated on him with in business school, and that made me slightly uncomfortable.Unfortunately, I felt worse answering his question.Ace already said that his greatest regret was marrying Mona. Well, I wasn’t married to her yet but I also had
MARKFinding Mona’s ex-husband as soon as we got to Toronto was one of the easiest thing to do. Even though I did say that it wasn’t a risk that was worth taking, Noelle made me get a private plane, and two hours later, all three of us were in Toronto.“Mr. Ace will see you soon,” a woman in her mid fifties told us.She appeared to be his house manager.Apparently, Ace was in his private gym when we arrived. The good thing was that we were allowed into his premises, and I couldn’t deny how successful he had become.Well, Ace wasn’t exactly poor, or maybe it was because I never really paid attention to him. He was my rival back then, and I didn’t usually concern myself about my rivals. The only way I would have concerned myself with him was if he was my rival in business.“I really hope this is worth it, and that we are able to get back to Paris before it gets dark,” I said in a low voice, almost impatiently. At lot of things were at stake if this didn’t go well.“Have some faith, Mark
ALEXA“Hey, honey, are you okay?” A voice asked me.I was sitting on a bench at a park. I could see a little child playing without a care in the world a few feet from me. The child wasn’t being supervised and I didn’t know whose child he or she was; I couldn’t even tell the gender.I turned to the voice and realized that it was my dad.My eyes lit up instantly.“Dad!” I called out, but I didn’t stand to my feet to hug him or do anything. But I was very happy to see him, and he could tell from the look in my eyes.“I have missed you so much, dad,” I added, my voice instantly thickening with emotions.“Can I sit beside you?” He asked me.“Yes, yes, sure,” I responded without hesitation. He sat down, but I noticed that he kept some distance between us. However, I didn’t bother him about it or ask him to come closer to me. It was just the both of us at the park now...oh, the child playing too.My dad and I stared at the child for a couple of minutes in silence.Everything was peaceful and
MARKSuddenly, Noelle became the only one with a working brain, and Vector and I didn’t have a choice but to listen to her.“What way is that?” Vector and I asked at the same time.“We should speak with Mona’s ex-husband,” Noelle stated firmly and confidently. And it just felt as though all the confidence I had in her died instantly. What did she mean by that?I stared at Vector, and it was the same time that he also stared at me. Vector didn’t also understand what Noelle was getting at. Apparently, we both expected more from Noelle, but her statement just seemed to make us disappointed.“Aren’t you going to ask why?” Noelle asked, staring at Vector and me.This was the first time that she was even looking at Vector since she walked into his living room some minutes ago.“Why?” I asked.“First of all, we will get to know if the Toronto tradition is true or Mona and her parents just made it up, and secondly, maybe we could find something to hold against her,” Noelle explained. The firs
MARK“Alright, I am doing that already,” I said to Alexa.“Fine, do that right now!” She ordered.“But you have to stay quiet and let me handle this so that you don’t ruin anything, Alexa, please,” I pleaded with her.I had to, considering how furious and bitter Alexa was. I didn’t want her to spea
MARKReyna’s text came in when I was speaking to the doctor with Alexa, so right after I left the hospital, I went to meet Reyna at Mr. Silver’s company.“Am I late?” I asked her the moment I got there.“By twenty minutes,” she said lightly.“I apologize, but it took longer than expected at the hos
ALEXA“Good morning, dad,” I greeted my dad the moment he opened his eyes.I gave him a few seconds to adjust his eyes to his environment, being that he slept all through the night. The doctor, during his last checkup last night, had already informed me that the medication will keep him unconscious
ALEXAWhat I just saw brought back all the anger in me and disoriented me internally. And I could not explain the jealousy I felt in the pit of my stomach. Mark was such a shameless man. How long had he known Reyna that something was already going on between them? I had loved only Mark since I was
