‘Kate Delaney runs away on the wedding day.’

‘Kate Delaney turns down Bryan West at the altar in a bid to protect their family.’

‘Watch here: Mrs. Alia Delaney release statement about her daughter’s disappearance on her wedding day.’

“They’re already bringing up false narratives.” Kate said looking up to Avan’s emotionless face as she played the video.

“My precious daughter was threatened before the wedding but she kept it all to herself, she’s always trying to be so brave,” Mrs. Delaney let out a chuckle. “And despite the fact that she kept to her end of the bargain to not follow through with the marriage with Bryan, they still kidnapped her, oh my poor child.” She added as she wiped the stream of tears flowing down her cheeks.

“We are working really hard and have involved the police to find the perpetrators of this evil. And please if you happen to see her anywhere, any clue you might have, please do well to call this number. We would not stop until my daughter is found safe and sound. Thank you all.”

“How in the world did she come up with that. Mom would really go to any length just to uphold a good public image.” Kate mused.

Avan took a step back. “It’d be best if you return.”

“No, I can still fix this, uhmm the evidence, it’s in my gallery..uhmm just a second.” Kate said quickly scrolling through her phone.

“Here, it’s here! thank goodness.” She heaved a sigh of relief as she handed the phone to him.

He swiped through the footage and smirked.

“Has there been any call come through that line?” Kate’s mom asked pacing around the room restlessly.

“Not at all Ma.” Fiona responded.

“I’d see what I can do from my end.” Bryan said as he gestured to leave.

“Oh dear, I’m so sorry for such a time like this, I hope we find her soon, I’m worried sick.” Mrs. Delaney stated.

“Ma’am, are you certain this was a kidnap or Kate willingly ran away?” Fiona asked learning forward on her seat. “She told me she doesn’t want to carry on with the wedding so maybe..”

“Shut up! I know my daughter. Come on, didn’t you see her before that day and even on that day! She was happy, this was a dream come true for her, for us.”

She took a seat at the end of the sofa while dapping the tears that began flowing down her cheeks. “I’m pretty sure she was threatened and while trying to run away, they still caught her. Oh my poor child.” She cried even louder.

“Then maybe they told her to not even show her face at the wedding but she wanted to alert us. What if she was trying to tell me something and I couldn’t grasp it.” Bryan mused.

“Yes, yes that could be a possibility. Oh my baby, she’s all I’ve got left. I really hope the miscreants are feeding her.”

“We can check her phone for any evidence that could help the police.” Fiona added.

Mrs. Delaney eyes flickered. “Of course, that’s a good idea.”

“The phone was in her white purse, and I remember returning it to her room. I’d go look for it.”

After fifteen minutes, Fiona came back, wearing a panic expression. “It’s not there anymore.”

“Are you sure there’s no other place it could be?” Bryan questioned.

“No, I ransacked her room, it’s nowhere to be found.”

“It could possibly be with her.” Mrs. Delaney said.

“Then that could be a good resource. I’d alert the police to track it immediately.” Bryan said.

At the West Mansion, the ceiling soared two stories up with a chandelier that hung like a frozen burst of light. Different staffs could be seen moving in their arrays.

“I heard about your runaway bride? Is there anything you don’t mess up? I even put stakes on it and you screw this one up too?” Avan retorted.

“Yeah, right. Rub it on my face. Besides she didn’t runaway, she was kidnapped. You know, you should have stayed out of the wager and everything about the wedding. Can’t you see you’re bad luck?”

“Bryan, look how stressed you look like and you’re not even married yet, what would happen when you are? Mrs. Glyde West commented pulling her son in for a hug. “Let’s just forget about everything and you could settle down with someone else. This Kate of a girl is bad luck, I could sense it from the moment I set my eyes on her.”

“But I thought you said you liked her.”

“Did I, that must have been her charm working on me, now the scales are off my eyes I can see clearly.”

“Mum, it’s alright. I believe this is a test to our love. We’d find her sooner besides, the police have began tracking her phone.”

“You don’t advise someone in love, do you? She said pulling his cheek. “Come I asked the chefs to prepare your favorite.”

Avan immediately dashed out of the mansion.

A knock at Kate’s bedroom door snapped her out from the abstraction in the book she seemed to be reading. She had gone over the same line again and again without remembering a single word.“Come in,” she said sitting upright and flipping the book face down on the bed. The door opened, Von entered first carrying several large boxes followed by two other people, who seemed to be the housekeepers on duty struggling with more boxes stacked up to their chin.Kate scooted closer to the edge of the bed. “What on earth is all that?”Von gave a mirthless smile as he set the boxes in orderly stacks on the floor. “These are for you ma’am.”“For me?” She asked, her voice laced with astonishment as she climbed off the bed and approached them cautiously. She examined the boxes with her eyes and turned towards Von with a questioning look.“The boss asked me to deliver this to you.” Her eyebrows rose, she took an envelope attached to the largest box and opened it carefully. Inside was a short, neat

“Feeling any better?” Fiona asked as Bryan stepped out of the bathroom. The warm cedar wood bath had eased some of the tension in his muscles but did little to remedy his burn out. All he wanted now was a long uninterrupted sleep. “A little,” he replied drying his hair with a damp towel. She waved a sleek black folder at him. “You won’t be going to the onyx gala without a date right?” A playful smile tugged on her lips.Bryan’s movement stilled. She must have gotten that from his suitcase. “What do you mean?” A frown knitted between his brows. He knew where this conversation was heading. And he did not like it.“Oh come on,” she rolled her eyes playfully. “You know exactly what I mean.” “That’s way too risky, we can’t be found in public together and you know that.”Silence settled in the room. Her expression became sour, she knew this was going to be his response yet hearing it from him cut through her as knife slices into butter. He met her gaze, her puppy eyes lifted to his whic

The deep crimson, night robe she wore complemented her complexion perfectly. It’s luxurious silk fabric accentuated her figures in all the right places. Fiona had spent hours and efforts working on this look. Her makeup was flawless, with her crimson lipstick and perfectly lined lips that made her lips appear fuller. She had dyed her hair and added extensions to match Kate’s signature hair style and color with the sole idea that she can’t make Bryan forget Kate, so she’d have to be an even alluring version, one he couldn’t simply ignore. Unlike Kate’s sleek hairstyle, Fiona added soft curls to hers, which cascaded over her shoulders in elegant waves craving Bryan’s hand to mess it up. All of this for him, her baby daddy. She had been waiting for him to return for hours until exhaustion won and she drifted into a light sleep only to be awakened by a familiar voice.“Ka-Kate…” It echoed in her vague dreams. She squinted her eyes as she woke up and took in the view of the man standin

Deep down, Mrs. Delaney wanted nothing more than to slap the pitiful mask off Fiona’s face and smear her perfectly done lip combo off her lips. The sight of her sitting meekly and pretending to care made bile to rise in her throat. She couldn’t come to terms of how someone she took in as a daughter would do that to her family. How could someone who she had welcomed into her home countless times betray her daughter so shamelessly.Yet she had to keep playing her part for just a little while. Soon enough this charade would be over. “If you’re scared, what do you want to me do. I’m trying…,” a tear slid down her cheeks. “I’m trying to keep it all together. My only daughter, oh I hope for a light at the end of this tunnel.” She added crying even louder.“I’m so sorry, ma’am.” Fiona said as she scooted closer and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.Mrs. Delaney nearly flinched from the touch.“You’ve always been so strong, everything would be fine.”“It’s alright,” she sniffed. “I’d be f

  • Too Late For Regrets (Exfiancé Wants Me Back)   Chapter 7 - Five star chef

The aroma of peppery beef stew and a hint of steaming white rice hit Avan the moment he got back to the mansion. The aroma was rich, savory and impossible to ignore. He stopped in the foyer. ‘When did I hire a five star chef.’Drawn by the mouthwatering aroma, he traced it down to the kitchen, that’s when he saw her.The soft fabric of her dress draped over her like a second skin, tracing her well defined curves with every stitch as she glided around the table top humming to a melody only her could hear. For a moment there, Avan forgot how to breathe. He found himself staring, the more he tried to look away the more his eyes kept dragging back to her.“Mm…”, Kate tasted the stew that sizzled hot from the fire. “That taste,” she paused and savored it before smacking her lips. “Almost perfect, just one more thing.”She grabbed another ingredient from the top shelf. “Ah, there you are.” A grin spread across her face. She stirred it in and tasted the stew again. “Perfect, mmm it’s really
