The music was amplified, and it was heard as soft notes that were joyful and soothing in the room. The back doors of the hall swung wide open, and all heads were turned simultaneously.

Ava stepped inside.

She was unable to feel her feet on the floor for a second. Her body was in motion, but her mind was distant; it seemed like she was looking at herself as she saw her. She was a little shaky in her hands as she held the bouquet, and her fingers were cold even when it was hot.
