ROWAN’S POV

If felt like a bucket of cold water was dumped on my head when I heard the word "breeder". Few seconds ago, I thought I was going to be killed like a mere animal, now I'm about to be a breeder for Julian and Marcus Knox.

How did Elowen and the rest of the pack feel about the new development? I was too exhausted and drained to give a damn anymore.

"Let's move." I heard Alpha Julian command the guards and my two arms were grabbed, raising me off the cold floor.

I looked over to where my sister was, though my vision was blurred by tears, I saw Dylan standing next to her, their hands locked together. Elowen wore a look of pure, unadulterated fury. She had wanted me dead in the worst way possible, instead I was being taken away by the most powerful men in Moon Haven, to be their breeder.

I didn't know which was worse though. Was I really better off being a breeder to Alpha Julian and Marcus than dead?

"Wait!"

A small, lean figure broke through the crowd and ran towards the middle of the square.

"Maria?" I croaked out.

Maria, my personal servant who I also considered my best friend, threw herself at Alpha Marcus’s feet.

"Please, Alpha! Please, take me with Lady Rowan! She's injured and needs care. Please let me go with her! I'm her personal servant, please."

One of the Twin Alphas, the one with the piercing grey eyes, Alpha Julian stepped forward in front of Maria. Then after a moment of unreadable silence, he commanded, "Let the girl in. If the breeder dies of an infection before we're even finished with her, it's a waste of our time."

Another guard grabbed Maria by her arm and we were both dragged away to one of the cars that brought the Alphas. As we were thrown to the backseat of the car, Maria pulled me into a desperate embrace.

"I've got you, my Lady," she whispered as she sobbed into my hair. "I'm here for you. You're not alone."

I don't know how long we stayed in that hug but before we knew it, the car was approaching a massive stone mansion.

The Knox brothers' home.

"Take her to her chambers," Alpha Julian ordered, then said to me, "I'm sure you know what will happen if you try anything stupid." His voice was calm but the tone behind it was enough warning of the consequences.

The guards threw us into a room and the door clicked shut, locking from outside.

Maria immediately moved to the bed and helped me sit down. She looked at the state of me, the bruises, the torn dress, the swollen eyes, and then she let out a sob.

"How could they?" She cried, her hands trembling as she ran them gently on my arm. "You were supposed to be our Luna. Everything was going so perfectly. Now what the hell is this? A fucking breeder?? For the twin Alphas??"

I placed her hand in mine and patted it, "Oh, Maria. But I'm alive, right? That's all that matters right now. I was supposed to be killed brutally by these Alphas but now I'm here in front of you, alive."

"But why a breeder?" Maria wiped her eyes, her face was now a mix of worry and confusion. "Alpha Marcus and Alpha Julian.... they could have any woman in Moon Haven. They could take a hundred mistresses, if they wanted. Why would they want you as a breeder? It doesn't make sense."

I shook my head slowly. "I don't know. To humiliate me?"

But even I didn't believe that. If humiliation was their goal, there were several other ways.

"No," Maria disagreed. "The Twin Alphas don't do things for spite. They only do things for power. There has to be something else. Something else that––"

She didn't finish her thought when the heavy bolt on the door slid back and it swung open with a force.

A guard with a cold glare on his face, stood there. "The Alphas wants her bathed, cleaned up and prepared for him." He barked at Maria. "Have her ready. Now."

"Now?" Maria gasped. "She can barely stand! She needs rest and–"

"Now!" He barked even louder this time, making Maria and I shake in our boots. "They want her ready for them tonight. She is to wear the dress provided in the dressing room. You have thirty minutes."

He slammed the door shut.

Maria turned to me, her face had turned pale. "Tonight? They.... they aren't even going to wait?"

A cold shiver ran down my spine, which was followed by a sudden, hot flash of rage. They didn't even see me as a person. I was nothing but a sex slave to them.

"The man said we have thirty minutes, Maria. Let's hurry." I said with a steady voice. There was no point crying over spilled milk. There was nothing I could do at the moment.

Maria got to work quietly, though I could still hear her silent sobs. She helped me into the huge marble tub in the bathroom. The warm water stung the scrapes on my knees and the bruises on my body. She washed the blood off my temple and tended to my bruises gently. She rubbed scented oils that smelled of jasmine and vanilla on my body.

"You're so beautiful, Lady Rowan," she said quietly as she helped me out of the bath. "They are going to see that and maybe... maybe if they see that you're not a traitor... maybe they will treat you better. Maybe they will even make you their mate.  Maybe that's why they picked you,  because they found out you're their mate." I could hear the slight excitement in her voice.

I chuckled, "That's so many maybes, Maria. And they don't want a mate. They want a breeder."

She led me to the dressing room and indeed a white silk gown was hanging there. It was sleeveless, with a plunging neckline and it looked like it would cling to every curve of my body.

"But why you?" Maria asked again, her voice sounded small as she picked up a brush. "Everyone say the Twin Alphas are incapable of love. They have never even looked at a woman twice, both of them. Why would they claim a supposed traitor to breed their heir?"

"I'm a weak werewolf, Maria," I replied, staring at my reflection. I looked beautiful in the dress. "Maybe they saw that I'm weak enough for them to control and use as they please."

The words tasted bitter in my mouth as they slipped out but it was probably the truth.

"Or maybe they felt something," Maria said, hope suddenly flickering in her eyes again. "Maybe the bond–"

"There is no bond." I snapped at her but softened my tone immediately. "Dylan was my mate and he rejected me. I don't have anything left inside me to bond with anyone. Especially not monsters like Alpha Julian and Alpha Marcus."

Maria didn't argue. She began to brush out my long black hair gently. For a moment, in the quiet of the room, I could almost pretend I was back in my room, preparing for a pack festival.

But then, the door swung open without a knock.

"The Alphas want you now." A woman’s voice announced.

~ ROWAN’S POV ~ The heavy oak doors of the master suite slammed shut with a finality that made the crystal chandelier overhead rattle. The gala was over, but the stench of it, the expensive perfume, the fake smiles, and the way every Alpha in that room had looked at me like I was a prize, was still stuck in my throat. I didn't wait for them to speak. I marched to the center of the room and whirled around, my emerald silk dress rustling like a warning. "Don't touch me," I snapped as Julian reached out, his hand hovering near my waist. I stepped back, my eyes darting between the two of them. "I want the truth. No more 'vessel' talk. No more vague threats. I want to know exactly why I’m still breathing when every law in Moon Haven says I should have been executed months ago." Julian’s grey eyes darkened, his jaw set in that hard line that usually preceded someone getting their throat ripped out. "You’re shaken because of Elowen. She’s a bitter bitch, Rowan. Forget her." "I’m not sh

~ ROWAN’S POV ~ The air in the ballroom was thick with the scent of expensive cologne, champagne, and the musk of too many Alphas in one space. My skin felt like it was crawling. Julian and Marcus hadn't left my side for more than a second, their hands constantly migrating to my hips or my shoulders. They were making sure everyone knew I was their property. "I’m going to lose my mind if I have to listen to one more Alpha talk about 'lineage' and 'vessels,'" I muttered, leaning toward Marcus. Marcus looked down at me, his baby blue eyes softening just a fraction. "Just a little longer, Rowan. It’s part of the game." "I’m not a playing card, Marcus," I snapped. Julian chuckled, a dark sound that vibrated against my side. He leaned in, his lips brushing my ear. "You're the Ace, sweetheart. Now, stay here. We need to speak with the Alpha King’s representative. Don't move." They stepped away, blending into a group of men in sharp suits. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding

  • Claimed By The Twins Alphas    Chapter 18

~ ROWAN’S POV ~ The heavy velvet curtains in the twins' bedroom were pulled tight, but I could still hear the distant sound of the Crescent Moon Pack’s preparations. Today was the Grand Gala. The elite of Moon Haven were coming to celebrate the power of the Knox lineage, or whatever it is the staff said. A knock sounded at the door. I didn't get up from the chair. A maid scurried in, looking terrified to even meet my eyes. She dropped a large, black box on the bed and sprinted back out without a single word. I stood up and opened it. Inside was a dress, it was a deep, shimmering emerald green, made of silk that felt so smooth against my skin. There was no note, but I knew who sent it. I pulled it on, and the fabric clung to every curve of my body. The neckline plunged low, and the back was almost entirely gone, held together by thin gold chains. It was a dress designed to make people look. The door pushed open, and Julian and Marcus walked in. They were already dressed in

  • Claimed By The Twins Alphas    Chapter 17

~ ROWAN’S POV ~ The cold air of the Moon Haven woods whipped against my face, but I barely felt it. My lungs burned, each breath coming in ragged, shallow gasps. The adrenaline that had fueled my escape from the laundry room was starting to bleed out of me, leaving behind a hollow, shaking exhaustion. I had drained Sabrina. I had felt her strength slide into my veins like molten gold, and for a few minutes, I felt like a god. Now, I just felt like a girl running for her life in the dark. I stopped by an old oak tree, my hand pressing against the rough bark for support. I reached up to touch my shoulder. The skin was smooth. The jagged, blistering burn from the hot iron was gone, replaced by fresh, tender flesh. My Moon-bound wolf had used every drop of that stolen power to knit me back together. The pain was gone, but the memory of the hiss of the iron was branded into my mind deeper than the physical wound ever could have been. A twig snapped behind me. I froze. My ears

  • Claimed By The Twins Alphas    Chapter 16

~ ROWAN’S POV ~ The steam from the iron filled the small laundry room, making the air heavy and damp. My shoulder still throbbed from where I’d slammed Sabrina against the wall earlier, but the adrenaline from our last fight hadn't fully left my system. I was on edge and every little sound made my skin crawl. I reached for the porcelain teapot Julian had left on the side table earlier. My hands were shaking. I didn’t want to admit it, but Sabrina’s words about my execution were digging into my brain. I was nothing but a tool. A walking womb. "You're still here? I thought you’d be halfway to the dungeon by now," Sabrina’s voice cut through the silence. I didn't turn around. I kept my back to her, focusing on pouring a cup of tea. "The twins haven't come for me yet. I guess your little ring trick didn't work as well as you hoped." "They're busy," Sabrina snapped. She walked into my peripheral vision, clutching a bundle of silk. Her jaw was bruised, a dark purple mark bloomin

  • Claimed By The Twins Alphas    Chapter 15

~ ROWAN’S POV ~ The silver sickness was finally gone, but I felt weird. My body was buzzing. It was like I had too much caffeine or a shot of adrenaline that wouldn't wear off. Julian and Marcus had been gone for an hour, looking like they’d seen a ghost after what happened in that bed. They didn't want to talk about it, but I knew I’d done something to them. I’d tapped into their power, and I felt stronger than I ever had. I couldn't stay in that room. It felt like the walls were closing in on me. I threw on a shirt and some leggings and grabbed the sheets. The servants were ignoring me because of the lies Sabrina was spreading, so if I wanted clean bedding, I had to do it myself. I headed down to the basement laundry room. The air was cold, but as I got closer, I smelled that annoying, expensive perfume. Sabrina. She was leaning against one of the big washers, looking like she’d been waiting for a fight. Her hair was perfect, and her silk dress probably cost more than my

Rowan’s pov My wrist were red, the leather straps were tight. Julian had tied me down before he left. My legs hurt, each time I moved my skin felt like I was being pierced by a needle. I wasn’t pregnant, I knew it. My stomach felt empty. Julian had been trying for days, but nothing was happening.

Rowan Pov I remembered how they walked out of the room without looking at me. I closed my eyes, praying to get some sleep but all I could see was my sister triumphant smile. “See you in hell, dear sister,” she had said I shaked the thoughts out of my head. My body felt heavy aching in pain.
