*Elena's POV*

“What the bloody hell?” I screamed, bolting upright in the tangled sheets.

Liam jerked awake, his eyes wide and bleary. “Elena? what’s wrong? You’re shaking. Talk to me...”

I didn’t answer. Tears were already flooding my red, swollen eyes, spilling hot down my cheeks. I couldn’t speak. Couldn’t breathe. I just scrambled off the bed, snatching my dress from the floor.

“Elena, wait—stop! What happened? Was it me? Did I hurt you?” His voice cracked with worry as he reached for my arm. “Last night you were laughing, you were...”

“Leave me alone!” I yanked away, shoving my feet into my heels. “It’s not you. It’s them. It’s all of them.”

I didn’t wait for his reply. I slammed the door behind me and ran.

The courthouse steps were still crowded when my cab screeched to a stop. I was too late. The wedding was over. Alexander and Eliza were already outside, smiling for the cameras, while bodyguards formed a wall around them. I pushed through the crowd anyway, my heart hammering.

“Alex!” I shouted, my voice breaking. “You bloody cheat! You bloody liar!”

I grabbed the front of his crisp white shirt and slapped him so hard my palm stung. The crack echoed. Gasps rippled through the guests and reporters.

“Elena...” one bodyguard started, but I didn’t care.

Alexander just stood there, his face was pale and his eyes empty. He didn’t flinch. Didn’t speak. He looked… disappointed. Like I was the problem.

“How could you deceive me like this?” I screamed, tears choking every word. “So you were going to marry her all along? You and my own sister played me? How could you humiliate me like this, Alex? Answer me!”

He stayed silent, his gaze fixed somewhere over my shoulder. Not even a flicker.

“And whose fault is that?” Eliza’s voice cut through the air like a knife. She stepped forward in my wedding dress, her veil still perfect, smile sharp.

“You’re the one who called the wedding off yesterday, Elena. You were too quick to judge, too proud to listen to your dear husband. Look at him! He cried himself to sleep last night because of the disgusting things you did. And now you show up here acting like the victim? Please.”

I spun on her, my chest heaving. “You stole my life, Eliza! My fiancé, my wedding, my future...everything!”

She laughed, cold and bright for the cameras. “Stole? You abandoned him! I just filled the space you created. After all, I make a better bride. Don’t I, Alex?”

Alexander still said nothing. His jaw tightened, but he wouldn’t look at me.

Eliza kept going, her voice rising so the microphones caught every word. “You sent him those filthy pictures, Elena. Pictures of you whoring around with some bartender while he was begging you to come home. He cried himself to sleep, because the woman he loved turned out to be a liar and a cheat. I was there for him. I listened. I comforted him. And you? You were too busy spreading your legs to care.”

Tears poured down my face now, nonstop. “You slept with him first! You pretended to be me! You ruined us!”

“Ruined?” Eliza’s eyes flashed with fake pity. “You ruined it the second you ran away instead of talking. I didn’t force him into anything. He chose me. Right here, right now, in front of everyone. Because I’m not the one who humiliated him on the internet last night.”

The bodyguards finally grabbed my arms, pulling me back. I fought them, sobbing. “Let go! Alex, say something! Tell them the truth! Tell them you slept with her thinking she was me!”

He still said nothing. Just that hollow, disappointed stare.

Media flashes popped like fireworks. Reporters murmured, some whispering, “Poor girl… she looks devastated.” Others shook their heads like they already believed Eliza.

I wrenched free, shame burning hotter than the anger. “I hate you both,” I whispered, my voice cracking. “I hate what you turned me into.”

I turned and ran. The crowd parted. Thank God, a yellow cab idled at the curb. I dove inside, slamming the door.

“Drive,” I choked out. “Just drive.”

My hands shook as I pulled out my phone and turned it back on. Notifications exploded. The first thing that loaded was a video of me and Liam kissing hard in the club last night, my hands tearing at his shirt, my tongue on his chest. Posted by Celebrity Scoop, the caption screaming in bold:

*Handsome Billionaire’s ex-fiancée was caught cheating on him a night before their wedding, probably why he married her twin sister instead. Thank goodness he dodged a bullet there.*

  • My Twin and Fiancé Betrayed Me, So I married His Rival   Chapter 65

**Angela's POV**I woke up to an empty bed.For a moment, just one ... I forgot everything. The argument with Marcus, our breakup, last night. I just lay there in the Saturday morning quiet and felt the warmth still in the sheets and thought nothing in particular. Then it all came back.I pressed my face into the pillow and groaned.Because the worst part was not what happened last night. The worst part was that I had liked it. I had lain there in the dark with Marcus's arm around me and felt something settle in my chest that hadn't been settled in months and I had liked that feeling desperately and I hated that I liked it.I missed him.I had missed him for weeks...I mised the specific weight of him in the bed, the smell of his skin, the way he always woke up before me and made noise in the kitchen before he remembered other people were sleeping. I had broken up with him and missed him every single day and last night my body had simply decided without consulting the rest of me.I sat

  • My Twin and Fiancé Betrayed Me, So I married His Rival   Chapter 64

**Angela's POV**Marcus looked at me.I looked at Marcus.Eli was already gone. He was in a fast, deep sleep that only children can fall into, his small chest rising and falling, and one hand still loosely gripping the edge of the duvet."I can take the couch," Marcus said quietly."The couch is small," I said. Also quietly. Because the room required it."I've slept on smaller, you do not have to worry""I know you have."We were both whispering now without deciding to. The way the presence of a sleeping child pulls adults into a different register .... softer, slower, more careful."Marcus." I looked at Eli between us. "Just stay on your side."He nodded.I turned the lamp off.---The dark settled.Eli shifted in his sleep and burrowed instinctively toward warmth, toward Marcus, as it happened and Marcus adjusted without waking him, pulling the duvet up around his small shoulders with the practiced ease of a father who had done this a thousand times in a life where he wasn't the one

  • My Twin and Fiancé Betrayed Me, So I married His Rival   Chapter 63

**Angela's POV**I told myself this was fine.Marcus coming over was fine. It was necessary. Eli needed his father and I was not the kind of woman who used a child as a weapon in an adult argument. Whatever happened was between Marcus and me and right now what was between us was a lot but it had nothing to do with my son's right to have his father in his life.So yes. Marcus was in my living room. Playing aeroplanes with Eli, lifting him above his head while Eli screamed with laughter. And I was in the kitchen making tea I didn't want and pretending to be very interested in the wall."Angela." Marcus's voice floated in. "There's no sugar in this house.""It's on the top cupboard," I said. To the wall."I checked the top cupboard.""Check the second shelf."He paused, He was rustling. "Found it." Another pause. "Thank you."I said nothing.Eli came barreling into the kitchen with the energy of someone who had been airplaned and was not yet ready for the experience to be over. He grabb

**Liam's POV**---She came home quiet, she did not speak much and it bothered me. This was not the easy settled silence that had become normal between us. This was another kind. The kind that had weight to it. That sat in the room and made itself known.I looked up from my laptop the moment she walked in."Hey." I closed it, giving her all my attention. "What happened?""Nothing.""It does not look like nothing ."She sat down on the edge of the sofa and stared at the wall for a moment. Then she turned and looked at me with an expression that told me she had been carrying something the entire drive home and had finally run out of road."I went to see my mum," she said."Okay." I waited."And before that..." She stopped and started again. "Liam, do you know a nurse on your father's ward? Angela?"I thought about it. "The one with dark hair? That works the afternoon shift?""Yes." She looked at her hands. "I ran into her at the hospital café a few weeks ago. She said something to me t

  • My Twin and Fiancé Betrayed Me, So I married His Rival   Chapter 61

**Elena's POV**The door opened before I could knock. My mother stood in the doorway like she had been frozen for close to an hour, that's how rigid she was. One of her hand was still on the handle of the door, the other was holding a dish towel, her face doing something complicated that moved through surprise and relief and something else I couldn't immediately name, all in the space of about two seconds. We stared at each other without a word even though we had plenty things to say to each other. "Elena, welcome" she said."Hi, Mum."She looked at my bump. Then back at my face. Then at the bump again."You didn't call before coming," she said."I know.""You should have called.""I know, Mum."She stepped aside without another word and I walked in.---The living room was exactly the same way I left it.. Same curtains, same photographs on the wall, same particular smell of the house I had grown up in. I sat on the sofa and she sat across from me and we existed in the specific awkw

  • My Twin and Fiancé Betrayed Me, So I married His Rival   Chapter 60

**Elena's POV**---I was still deciding between my several options when I felt it.That specific awareness, the kind that happens when someone you know has entered a space you're in, before you've even seen them. Like a shift in the air.I glanced sideways.Liam was walking toward the treadmill section with a water bottle in his hand and the calm, unhurried stride of a man with nowhere urgent to be. He saw me. He saw Derek. He read the situation in approximately one second. And then he did the last thing I expected. He didn't pull up. Didn't fold his arms. Didn't do the husband thing. He walked straight up to the treadmill on my other side, stepped on, set it to my exact speed, and looked at Derek with a completely straight face."Sorry, am I interrupting?" he said pleasantly."Little bit," Derek said, equally pleasant."Great." Liam turned to me. "Hi. I couldn't help noticing you from across the gym. You have an incredible energy."I stared at him."I'm sorry what?...""I'm sorry, d

*Andrea's POV*---“Start talking,” I said, my voice low but firm, laced with the exhaustion and fury I could no longer hide. “I’m listening.”She broke into sobs, her shoulders were shaking violently which I found incredibly annoying by the way. For a moment, the only sound was her ragged breathin

*Liam's POV*I drove too fast.I knew I was driving too fast and I did it anyway because Andrea had called me and said 'Elena fell, she's in the hospital, she's okay" and my brain had processed exactly one of those three things. She fell. The rest of it ... the okay part, the she's fine part, the c

*Elena's POV**There was a bright first. Then pain came almost immediately.I became aware of them in that order... the pale, clinical brightness pressing against my closed eyelids, and then the dull, insistent ache that was coming from everywhere at once and had clearly been waiting for me to wake

  • My Twin and Fiancé Betrayed Me, So I married His Rival   Chapter 32

*Andrea's POV*The house was quiet in the mornings.I liked it that way. Just me, my coffee, and the particular satisfaction of walking through a space like I owned it ... which, technically, I did not. But technicalities had never particularly interested me.I moved down the upstairs hallway in my
