登入SELENA’S POV
"Where in the hell am I?" Woke up to light streaming through windows. Sheets too soft and I could feel that the bed wasn’t mine. Then the memories of the previous night started flooding in; Caius rejection, Daniel trying to force me into his car and then… My eyes widened in horror No. I tossed off blankets and sat up, my heart thudding hard in my chest. I took a good look at the room, it was big and masculine. Black curtains, dark wood grain furniture, his scent lingering in the room, pine and denser. Lucian. I was in Lucian’s place. "Go to him," she whispered. "He's our mate." I ignored her. No, there was no way we could be with him. He is dangerous. He killed Caius and me. I went down the stairs, my foot engulfing me in fear. Memories of yesterday spun around in my head, mocking me. I pushed into the kitchen—and halted. Lucian stood in front of the stove, shirtless as he flipped something in a pan. His muscles flexed with each movement with his tattoos peeking out from his shoulder and trailing down his side. His hair was slightly messy like he’d just rolled out of bed. And his scent, it pulled at me like gravity. I hated it. He turned, eyes locking with mine, and smiled softly. “Morning. You’re awake.” His voice was deep, laced with warmth. I folded my arms. "Where in the devil's name am I?" He smiled. "My apartment. You had too much to drink last night. I did not want to leave you out there by yourself." "I did not ask you to bring me here." "No. You didn't. But neither was I leaving you out there with Daniel.” My stomach turned in disgust. He was too nice. Not the Lucian I remembered in my past life. And everything was going terribly wrong in a way that I never could have imagined. The Moon Goddess was wicked. Caius was my mate and he rejected, then she had to make my sworn enemy my second chance mate. He set a plate in front of me—pancakes, eggs, strawberries. "Eat," he said softly. "I'm not hungry." "I’m sure you didn't eat enough last night. Just take one bite." I glared at the food, then at him. "Why are you treating me like this?" He shrugged. "Because you're my mate." "Don't say that." I pushed the plate back to him. "Why not?" he said. "It's the truth." "I’m sure there is a mistake somewhere." I said, "You can’t be my mate. It won’t work between us." There was a silence between us before he took a few steps closer to me. "I knew you would say that,” he sighed. "But I'm not going anywhere. I waited seven years to find you. Now that I have, I'm not letting you go no matter how much you hate me." His words cut like a knife and I saw something in his eyes, tenderness and longing. "I don't want you." I took a deep breath.. "I don't want this and I'm leaving too. I can’t stay here with Caius strutting around with that new Luna of his." "Selena…” "I don’t wish to have anything to do with your family again. Not after what he did to me." He ran his fingers through his hair. "I am not him. And I would never hurt you the way he did. You just have to trust me. I am not going to let you walk away from me without giving us a chance." "A chance?" I laughed out loud. “I know that you're afraid and I don't blame you one bit. But I'm not going to hurt you. I'm here to prove to you that I'm not him." My throat tightened. "Stop, please. Don’t make a promise you won’t keep," I gritted quietly. “You'll leave me too.” “No, I won't.” “You will.” I screamed back at him. "Because I'm weak. I’m just a spoiled brat that cannot do anything without her father’s support. Because I wasn't good enough for him, and I won’t be good enough for you either." Tears rolled down my cheeks like a waterfall but I didn't care. “I'm not the girl everyone thinks I am," I rasped. "I'm stupid, poor and insecure. You're going to wake up one morning and realize that too then you will regret ever," His hands held both my cheeks and he shut me up with a kiss. The kiss was soft and gentle. My heart skipped and my mouth moved as if they had a mind of their own. I wanted to push him away and stop the madness but I couldn't. He wrapped his hand around my waist, pulling me impossible close to him as he deepened the kiss. His hand tracing patterns on my back and a soft moan escaped my lips. My wolf writhed with lust and hunger. "He's ours." I could feel it, the flame in my chest. The flame that scorched my skin. The pull of the bond that trapped us, trapped me. Lucian's growl vibrated low in the throat as his wolf tried to surface. His eyes turned gold. "Selena," he growled against my mouth. "Do you want me to stop?” My brain was screaming at me to stop him but my body had a different plan of their own as my hands wrapped around his neck and kissed him with more passion. I blamed the mate bond for making it impossible to resist him. “Fuck” he muttered against my lips as he lifted me up and placed me on the kitchen counter. We were so lost in ourselves that we didn’t hear the door opening. "What the fuck is going on here?" Caius growled, making us pull apart.LUCIAN'S POVThe door to Elira's chambers creaked open, and I stepped aside to let the Priestess enter first. Her sharp eyes scanned the environment with a small satchel over her shoulder as she walked in.I stood by the door, watching her trace her fingers in the air, her lips moving in a low chant I couldn't quite hear and the temperature in the room seemed to drop. After a long moment, she turned to me. "This place is filled with dark magic," she said, her voice calm but serious. I nodded, keeping my face neutral. "I suspected as much."She continued her walk, sprinkling water from a small vial as she went. The water sizzled when it touched certain spots, evaporating into thin wisps of smoke.I kept a close watch on her, waiting for when she would notice the painting. After some moments, she stopped beside the bed and stared at the painting. "The dark magic is thickest here," she said, gesturing toward the painting. "More powerful than anywhere else in the room. It's more focused
SELENA'S POVThe door slammed behind Lucian, and the room fell into silence.I stood there for a moment, my heart still pounding, my hands trembling. Then I turned and threw my arms around Caius, burying my face in his chest."I'm so sorry," I whispered. "I'm so sorry for everything. For believing them, fo not coming back sooner. For…""Shh." He stroked my hair, his voice gentle. "None of this is your fault. You were manipulated. You were lied to. But I'm here now. I'm not going anywhere."I pulled back, looking up at him. His eyes were warm, his smile soft. He looked so sincere, so loving. This is the man I love. This is my mate and nothing Lucian said can change that."Actually," I said, a smile spreading across my face, "I have a surprise for you."He raised an eyebrow. "A surprise?"I took his hand and placed it on my stomach. His eyes widened. His mouth opened, but no words came out."We're going to have a baby," I said softly. "You're going to be a father."Caius stared at me, h
LUCIAN'S POVI stormed down the corridor, my vision red with rage. My fists were clenched so tight my nails bit into my palms. Every step I took echoed off the stone walls like a drumbeat of fury.I couldn't believe she looked me in the eyes and chose him.She believes every lie he fed her."Lucian! Lucian, wait!"Xavier's voice followed me, but I didn't slow down. I didn't want to hear anything. I just wanted to get as far away from that room as possible."Lucian, stop!"His hand grabbed my arm, yanking me to a halt. I spun around, my wolf surging to the surface."This is your fault!" I shouted, my voice cracking. "You suggested this! You said Caius would tell her the truth! You convinced me to trust him!"Xavier's face went pale. "Lucian, I didn't know…""You knew! You knew what he was capable of! You knew he would never do anything that would benefit me! But you insisted, and now Selena thinks I'm the villain!" I shoved him back, my chest heaving. "She hates me, Xavier. She looked
SELENA'S POVThe moment I saw him standing by the window, his familiar face, his familiar smile, something inside me broke open. All the fear, all the confusion, all the frustration of the past weeks came flooding out in a wave of tears."Caius!" I threw myself against his chest, burying my face in his neck. "I missed you so much. I couldn't even reach you. I was so scared. I thought something terrible had happened."His arms wrapped around me, strong and warm. "I'm here, Selena. I'm here. Everything is going to be okay."I clung to him, breathing in his scent. He smelled different than I remembered. But I pushed the thought away. We'd been apart for months. Of course, things would feel strange. He pulled back slightly, his hands cupping my face. His eyes searched mine, and then he leaned in and kissed me.I didn't hesitate. I kissed him back, my hands gripping his shirt, my heart racing. But even as our lips moved together, something felt off. His kiss was too hard and demanding. Not
LUCIAN'S POVI stormed up the stairs, my blood boiling and my fists clenched at my sides. To say I was pissed was an understatement but I couldn't bring myself to be angry at her. It wasn't her fault that she lost her memory and doesn't remember me. It was a result of my carelessness and I was suffering the consequences.I was so lost in my thoughts that I almost collided with Xavier as he rounded the corner."Lucian." He stopped, taking in my expression. "What happened? You look like you're about to kill someone.""It's Selena's." I breathed heavily. "She's back and she's demanding to see Caius. She won't listen to anyone."Xavier's brow furrowed. "Didn't you say you would explain everything to her?""I was planning to but she doesn't want to hear anything from me." I ran a hand through my hair, tugging at the roots. "Ever since the kiss, she's been avoiding me like I'm a plague. I'm her mate for God's sake. Why did she have to remember only Caius?” I raised my voice.Xavier was quie
RAVENA'S POVThe view from the window of the hotel room was beautiful. I'd heard so much about how beautiful Ardyth was and finally seeing it for myself, I concluded that they were not overexaggerating. After leaving Lunaroria, I had chosen to stay at that particular hotel because it was the closest to the Royal Palace of Ardyth. My next target.I looked down at the Lunaroria gemstone in my hand. Its warm golden light pulsed gently, like a heartbeat. A smile spread across my face. “One down. One to go.”Three weeks has passed since I left Lunaroria to hide here and the news of what happened to all the Umbraeth citizens in Lunaroria had reached me. My identity had been exposed with Alpha Mark himself confirming to the world that I was not his daughter.Like I actually care.I'd never wanted to be Queen of Lunaroria anyway. It was just a means to an end. A stepping stone to something much, much bigger which I was already so close to achieving. The coven queen had been furious. Her mess
LUCIAN’S POV"He is a fucking moron." I growled, slamming the door behind me as I walked into my home. I was furious because Caius was making a big mistake. I started walking back and forth, like a crazed beast. My fists were constantly curled and then released and my heart was seething with anger
SELENA’S POVThe night cool breeze hit my skin as I walked blindly down the almost deserted streets, my mind reeling from the rejection I had just suffered. We were laughing and chatting over dinner moments ago, and now I was alone on the streets with his words replaying in my head."You're just th
SELENA’S POV"Where am I?" Darkness closed in on me, darkness that did not end, and a chill fog crept around my feet like outstretched fingers. I moved slowly, but the ground I walked upon was not solid, as if I walked upon space."Aya?" I tried to summon my wolf but i got nothing in response. My
SELENA'S POVMy face glowing with enthusiasm mirrored back at me as I sat in front of my dressing table.
