I went to my father’s office and knocked on the door. “Come,” I heard my father’s firm voice from inside. I opened the door. “Good morning, Dad,” I wished my father. His back was facing me as he stared outside. After hearing my voice, he turned and smiled. “Good morning, my dear princess. Are you ready for today’s party?” I walked to him and pecked his cheek. “To be honest, Dad, going to the party is the last thing I want to do.” He raised his brows. “Why? Is it because of your mate?” I nodded. “Don’t lose hope, Evelyn. Sooner or later, you are bound to find your mate. It is better if you go today, it is necessary.” There was desperation in my father’s eyes, which was unlike him. “Dad, did something happen? You wanted to tell me something last night. What was that?” He looked tense. “Oh dear, it was nothing.” My brows knitted together. “Are you sure, Dad? Last night you were looking serious. Something made you tense, and I’m sure something happened, but you are not ready to tell me now.” I could see the tension on his face — the lines had become more visible over the past few weeks. “Please, Dad, don’t hide things from me.” Finally, he sighed, rubbing his temples, and then nodded. “Evelyn, you know our pack is one of the most powerful packs in the world. But we are not immortal. As werewolves, we have our own powers and weaknesses. There are many creatures who hold more power than us.” “I don’t understand, Dad. What are you trying to say? Can you please explain?” I didn't know where this conversation was going. He took a deep breath. “Evelyn, you are my only child and the heiress of this pack. You have proven your power and capability over the years. You fought and won many battles, and I am proud of you. Even though I always wanted your safety, you still have responsibilities as the future Luna of this pack.” “But to be honest, I don’t want you to fulfill those responsibilities because they always come with hardship. I can’t see you in pain or danger — especially when you don’t have all your powers yet.” I frowned. “Wait a minute, Dad… does this mean we are facing some kind of threat?” He nodded. “Yes, Evelyn. Some of our neighboring packs have already come under vampire rule.” “What?” My eyes widened in disbelief. “When did this happen, Dad? Why didn’t I hear about it?” He looked away. “Because I didn’t want you to know — at least not before you met your mate.” I stayed silent and let him continue. “I thought maybe you would find your mate and awaken all your powers before we faced our real enemy. But it has been long enough, and your mate still hasn’t appeared. Now more packs are falling under vampire control. I’m afraid our pack — and the Light Moon Pack or other eastern packs— might be next.” “I can’t believe this,” I whispered. He sighed again. “It is either we accept their rule or go to war. And I am afraid we cannot win against these blood thirsty creatures. They are fast, powerful, and ruthless.” “I have fought vampires before, but their king is different. Rumor says he possesses unimaginable power. No one knows what he looks like, but anyone who encounters him says his aura alone is terrifying. He is merciless.” I gulped. “Why didn’t you tell me this earlier, Dad?” He looked upset. “Because I didn’t want to unsettle you.” “So what will we do, Dad? We will do whatever is best for our pack’s well-being.” “You mean, accept the vampire king’s authority like our neighboring packs did?” He nodded. “I think that is the safest option for now. We don’t know the extent of his powers, and he is immortal — faster and stronger than us. Right now, this is the only way to avoid bloodshed of werewolves.” I straightened my shoulders. “Dad, people say I am as powerful as Grandma and that I possess the same witch powers as her. Is there a possibility that I could defeat the vampire king? I have already defeated many powerful enemies. And I trust my alpha power — just like yours.” He shook his head. “Evelyn, you are not understanding. These are not the same enemies you have fought before. I believe in your strength, but you still haven’t unlocked your full power.” “Grandmother told us that only when you meet your fated mate — or bond with someone — will your true power awaken. Until then, we must wait.” His voice grew serious. “I never told you this before, Evelyn, but do you know how your grandmother died?” I shook my head. “No, Dad.” “A powerful vampire king killed her. He wanted to make her his fated mate, so he got more powers, but she rejected him. She told him she could only be with her destined mate.” “He was not a normal vampire.. he was the previous king. He could not accept rejection. He threatened your grandmother, vowing to take revenge.” anger building inside me as I heard dad. “But your grandmother was an extremely powerful witch. She had already mated with your grandfather, so she possessed her full power. When they finally clashed, she defeated him.” “After his defeat, he became feral with rage and swore he would return to kill her.” “Your grandmother knew he couldn’t defeat her alone — but someone from her own clan betrayed her. That traitor helped the vampire king to kill her.” “After her death, your grandfather couldn’t bear the pain and also passed away. Your mother was only five years old.” My father clenched his jaw in anger. “Then Alba raised her, she was your grandmother’s best friend.” My eyes filled with tears. “Oh Moon Goddess… I never knew my grandmother’s fate was this cruel.” My father looked heartbroken too.Evelyn "Evelyn."I heard Catherine's voice. I turned to her and smiled. She smiled back."Are you ready for the castle tour?" she asked, looking more enthusiastic than me.I nodded. "Yes, I would love to." It wasn't a lie, though this place looked haunted and majestic at the same time, like it was holding so many secrets that made me curious.Catherine is giving me company today since Damian said the electricity wiring would be installed in my room. I still remember the human faces he hired for that work, damn, they looked so scared, like one wrong move could cost them their lives. But that's how supernatural creatures are, They threaten others. I hope those workers are fine. I still can't believe Damian fulfilled my wish so soon after I requested it."Let's go," Catherine said.We made our way through the castle. She showed me many places along the hallways. I saw many vampires, Jacob too, he bowed to Catherine but threw me a nasty glare. Then she took me to Damian's room. I felt a
Evelyn The castle door slowly opened and we stepped outside. Damian still held my hand, and I didn't even bother to pull back. Outside, the atmosphere wasn't anything better, but it wasn't as depressing as inside the castle either. After a few steps, I spotted a horse tied to a post with a vampire standing beside it. He bowed to Damian as we reached them, and what shocked me most was the horse, it wagged its tail and let out a soft whimpering sound the moment it saw him. Damian reached out and caressed the horse's head, and the animal looked very excited and it neighed loudly. Wow. I couldn't believe the way Damian was pampering him."He is my horse," Damian said, still stroking the horse's head."Ohh, okay. What is his name?" I asked."What could his name be? Horse, of course."Goddess this man, "No, I mean his pet name."Damian just shrugged. "I neither give pet names nor spoil names."I narrowed my eyes. "Ohh really? But you did with me, didn't you, Evelyn to little wolf?" I said
Evelyn I groaned as someone knocked on my door. My eyes slowly opened and I yawned, sitting up in bed. I think I overslept, though it wasn't my fault. I hadn't been able to sleep last night, especially after my flop kissing scene with Damin. Another harsh knock echoed through the room. Who could it be, and why is that person bothering me at this hour? Ohh Goddess, these vampires neither sleep nor let others sleep. I got out of bed and made my way to the door. 'Maybe Damian is behind the door. I think, Evelyn, we should shift his room.. no, our room. Oh, my sweet mate' Eva said dreamily. Sweet mate. I let out a laugh. 'Ohh please, he is anything but sweet.' I opened the door and saw who had been knocking well, more like breaking it down. She was the last person I expected, the girl from the harem, the one who had her eyes on Damian. That explained why she looked so cheerful when she was speaking about him. What was her name again? Oh yes Rolly? No, Molly, Eva corrected me. Well
Damian Fuck. Fuck. What was I doing? I was about to kiss Evelyn. It was not my intention, but her proximity made me want to claim her right on my dining table, a hunger I had never felt before, what the hell is happening with me. I still remembered her face, the disappointment and agony in her eyes when she thought those women from harem were mine. Why had she been sad, and why did I even bother to correct her that they were not my women? It was true. I had never touched any woman, In my entire life, my thirst for blood was all I had, never desired a woman. And I still didn't understand why I even brought her here when the future was dangerous and ready to snatch everything I held dear. But when I saw her, everything in me screamed to be near her, to have her in my life. My beast was restless. One look at her and I was fucking ruined. I ran my hand over my head. She affected me, no doubt, and the way her arousal rose, I was damn sure she felt my effect on her too.It was far past mi
Evelyn I didn't know what I should do since my last encounter with Damian at breakfast. Neither had I gone outside, nor had he come here.'I want to go outside, Evelyn,' Eva whimpered in my head, desperate to see him.'Why? So we could come across his women?' These mere words felt like venom on my tongue. No doubt I was jealous.'How could you be sure? Damian told us himself they were not his women.''Oh, Eva, please give me a break. You are an animal, that is why you're not thinking with your brain, but I have to be reasonable. Since my brain cells aren't dead yet. Of course he lied to us.'Before she could take his side, I went to the door, still thinking whether I should go. I hastily opened it and took a step outside, glancing around. No vampires. It was already evening—dangerous, but not as dangerous as night."Lady Evelyn."Fuck. I turned around. This time, another female. She scared me."The king is asking for you at dinner," she said."He cares for us," Eva didn't leave any m
Evelyn In the morning, sunlight streamed into the room, despite heavy curtains and woke me up. My eyes shot open. For a moment, I forgot where I was. Then reality hit me.The attack. The castle. The vampires. And my vampire mate Damian.I groaned and sat up on bed."Morning, Evelyn," Eva said in my head. "Hiding won't change anything.""I know, Eva," I muttered annoyingly. But she was right. I couldn't hide here forever. I dragged myself out of my soft bed, and went to the bathroom. My reflection in the mirror looked terrible. Dark circles under my eyes. Messy hair. Pale skin.Great. Just great. one night turned me into a ghost.I took a long shower, letting the hot water wash away some of the tension in my muscles. After getting dressed in jeans and a simple sweater, I stood in front of the door.Should I go outside? Explore this creepy castle?'Don't wander at night,' Damian had said last night. Well, it is morning now. So, I wasn't breaking his rules.I opened the door and stepped

Evelyn "You're so beautiful, Evelyn," my mate whispered against my neck softly, ready to mark me. My hold tightened on him. I held him like a precious possession.I always dreamt about my soulmate. It seemed like all of those dreams were going to be true. "I love you, Evelyn," my mate said lovingl
