Violet

We have been on this laptop for hours and the only thing I can find out about my beloved fiancée is practically useless, no proper picture of him, just more reasons to fear him, I looked at rochelle and she is already fast asleep.

I need a plan on how to escape this marriage maybe I can lie that I was pregnant and Papa will let me go, not until he kills me first though.

“ Sit!” That was the first word father said to me when I got to his by office

The Oldman doesn't even look up when I took my seat, he just focused on the paper he was reading with the same glasses he always claimed he didn't need, his hands wrapped around the drink his doctor has warned him off. But we all know Nickolai Carmene was a stubborn man.

He finally raised his brown eyes to me,

“ I had a meeting with the Grecos.”

“ Since when do you have a meeting with that pompous man who believes old money is the only real money?” I gritted my teeth.

“ When you have one enemy to destroy you make an alliance with even your enemy,” Father said.

I kept silent waiting for the ball to drop.

“ These hands built this empire and the Morettis those dogs are spitting on what I built,” Father said his anger brewing

“ They smile with the Italians and make deals with them and you know what that means for our shipment, especially with the Morettis running for president.”

“ What is my business with the Italian dogs, they know not to cross our borders, if they want to survive in this New York City,” I said my eyes icy.

“What I discussed with the Grecos involves us having a closer Alliance,” Father said

My eyes sharpened knowing where this conversation was headed.

“ A marriage Alliance”, he said calmly as he had just announced the weather

For a moment I just sat there, not blinking, “ Who is marrying one of Greco’s children because I will not let you marry off Dmitri —” I started to say.

“ Oh! Not Dmitri, you will be marrying Leonardo Greco's only daughter.”

“What?” I stood up the chair, scraping the floor with force.

“ Her name is Violet, a beautiful but a little stubborn girl, she is the perfect match for you.” Father continued.

“ Father, I never said I wanted to remarry, cancel the arrangement, I do not want any alliance with anyone,” I said firmly, fixing my father with a hard gaze.

“ You either marry her or Dmitri will and that's final,” Father said. “ Son, I know you're still hurting but it's been two years get over it. You need an heir to take after this empire when you die.” father continued.

“ No, I don't need an heir right now and I am not marrying anyone.”

“ I already signed that document and it's final,” Father shouted

“ You didn't do that father, you did that without confirmation from me?” I demanded in a low tone, the anger burning

“ Yes, I did. You might have taken over the company but I still have a say in your life, it's final, you just need a wedding for the public's sake but the marriage is a done deal.”

“ Who gave you the right to do that, father!” Fury boiled in me.

“ I had to for this empire's sake and for your sake, I knew there was no way you would agree to it and you need to fucking move on! Before everyone thinks the rumours are true.”

“ I don't care about any rumours, they can say whatever they like, but it doesn't stop my business from running smoothly,” I said indifferently.

“You didn't cause her death, Alek, stop hurting yourself for her…” he took a deep breath

“It's been two good years since it happened—”

“ Stop it, father, my refusal to marry has nothing to do with her and if it's an heir you want so badly I can always get you one,” I said as a matter of fact.

“ You want a bastard to take over my empire?” Father snapped.

“ That will never happen and if you do that when I'm dead, I will still not allow it to happen. I am your father and I signed that alliance, the marriage is final.”

“If you must get an heir you can request one from Dmitri when he is ready.” I said “You have two sons not one, father.”

“ You know Dmitri isn't fit for this role, my first son will take over my empire and you are my first son and you will get an heir that will take over as well.”

“You need a wife to tighten our strength.” Father continued.

“Father, I have never needed anyone for the past seven years and I don't need anyone now,” I said

“Well, now you do, do it for your dying father.” Father matched my tone, his anger intensifying as well.

“ This conversation is over” he said, raising his paper from the table.

I turned to take my leave.

“ One more thing, your engagement is tomorrow,” Father said

“Father!” I called

But he simply ignored me, now there is no way I can back out from this wedding, father knows what to always say when he wants me to yeild and I never backed down from a challenge.

I brought out my phone and searched for Violet Greco. The first picture I saw sparked something inside me, from her amethyst eyes to her black curly hair and cute freckles around her nose. Her heart shapes lips but her eyes held something that I can decipher. In this picture, she was smiling at something and truly she was beautiful and very feminine.

But beautiful women are easily broken and I always break them until they totally wither away.

“ Hello, brother.” Dmitri walked in startling me.

“What are you looking at with such ser— Who is this beauty?” he asked

“ Violet Greco. Leonardo Greco’s daughter.” I said

“Ughh, I hate that man, how did a crazy bastard like him Birt sure beauty and why are you even searching her up?”

“You can ask father, she is going to be your new sister-in-law,” I said frustrated.

“ What!” he said stunned.

“ Do me one favour, find out all you can on her, I don't want to walk into a trap with the Grecos.”

“She doesn't look all that dangerous but I will ask around,” Dmitri said walking away.
