“You find entertainment in my internal conflict,” Luz stated calmly. “The more I resist what you have bound me to, the stronger it grows. It is that simple.” His black gauntleted hand rested on the hilt of his sword, a familiar gesture that grounded him in the present while his mind raced through possibilities. The hidden white ribbon on his wrist felt like a brand against his skin. “I saw a knight that could be saved,” Mestre Escuro said with a strange smi

“More like desperate,” Escuro said shifting on his feet. “I am no witch hunter. I came hoping to make use of your skills.” The fireball in her hand flickered, the intensity of the light wavering for a split second as her confusion momentarily overrode her anger. Escuridade did not lower the flame, but she did not hurl it either. “Make us of my skills?” she repeated, her voice dropping an octave. The idea was absurd. People did not come to her for help; the concept of a non-hunter seeking her out was so foreign it felt like a trap. She descended one step, her boots making a dull thud on the rotting wood of the staircase. her purple eyes searched his face, looking for the telltale twitch of a lie or the glint of a hidden weapon. “You are talking about magic like it is a tool. Like a hammer or a plow,” she said, her eyes narrowing. “No, I am well aware that magic is more like an art for. A part of yourself,&rdqu

Water damage streaks down many sections in the foyer, creating black stains that suggest years of rain leaking through the damaged roof. Supporting the upper gallery was a series of grand stone arches resting upon thick decorative columns, each featuring finely sculpted capitals adorned with floral motifs and gothic ornamentation. Although weathered and shipped, the stonework retained its remarkable craftsmanship. The arches frame shadows passageways leading deeper into the manor, where darkness obscured whatever lies beyond. Suspended from the high ceiling hangs a massive wrought-iron chandelier, once intended to illuminate the entrance with dozens of candles, but at the time it hung crookedly, coated in dust and cobwebs. Many of the candle holders were bent or empty, while parts of the metal frame were rusted and fragile. Above it, the ceiling itself disappeared into darkness, with only hints of decorative moulding visible through the gloom. The second-floor g

The manor stood alone beneath a dark, storm- laden sky, exuding an overwhelming sense of decay and abandonment, its once grand architecture now consumed by age, neglect and the relentless passage of time. The structure was constructed almost entirely of dark grey stone, its imposing façade rises three stories high, punctuated by steeply pitched roofs and towering gables. Several tall stone chimneys protrude from the roofline, the surface stained black from centuries of soot and weathering. On the right side of the structure stands a prominent tower capped with a sharply pointed roof, giving the building an almost fortress like silhouette. The exterior walls were heavily weathered. The once smooth stonework had become rough and mottled with patches of moss, lichen and creeping vines that climb relentlessly across the façade. Many of the decorative stone carvings surrounding the windows and entrances had eroded, leaving softened edges and chipped det

Escuridade pulled back slightly, her hands still gripping her robes. Her purple eyes sharpened, the soft vulnerability replaced by cold, calculating clarity. “That is what you gave him?” she asked with a suspicious look. Escuro nodded. “Perhaps it is time I told you everything,” he said and took a deep breath. she stood still; her gaze fixed on him. The soft moment between them had evaporated, replaced by the heavy stillness of the underground chamber. She did not pull away, but she braced herself, her fingers loosening their grip on his robes as she prepared for whatever truth he was about to lay bare. “Then tell me,” she said with a steady voice. “No more half-truths. No more protecting me from things I need to know.” she glanced toward the statue of the king standing between the candles, its unblinking eyes seeming to watch them both before returning her attention to him. “Tell me everything you have been hiding.”

Escuridade walked around him until she could see Escuro’s face again. The statue behind him seemed to mock them both with its unblinking gaze. “But Estella– she did not just drink from it. She used it. She turned people into weapons, into prisoners, into something hollowed out.” she paused, her voice hardening. “That is not excitement. That is a choice.” She reached out, her hand hovering near his arm but not quite touching. “I know,” Escuro admitted. “But I did not know why. She was not a power hunger person. And what exactly is behind the fountain that she is using? Why does it not work on those who possess magic?”Escuridade pulled her hand back, clenching it into a fist at her side. The questions hung in the air, unanswered and unanswerable. “Maybe that is why,” she said, her voice low. “Maybe magic is not just a tool. Maybe it is part of what makes us whole. And the fountain– it does not

Mestre Escuro did not turn immediately. He was bent over the alter, his fingers hovering just above the surface of the king’s crown. The flickering light from the candles cast long, dancing shadows across his face, making him look older than he had even a week ago. “The inscriptions are changing,” he said, his voice low and preoccupied. “Every time we clear the site, the runes shift. It is as if the altar itself is reacting to our presence.” Escuridade stood in the doorway, her arms crossed tightly against her chest. The silence between them stretched, thick and uncomfortable. “We found her,” she said. His hand froze. He did not move for a long moment, then slowly straightened, turning to face her.Escuro’s expression was unreadable– a mixture of relief so profound it looked like pain, and something else she would not quite name. “Emile?” he asked calmly. “Yes,” Escuridade said, her voice flat and h

“Found a way?” his voice rose sharply, echoing in the black tent. “There was no way! You think I wanted to abandon you? “What in the bloody hell are you doing here?” Luz’s voice emerged rougher than intended, betraying both anger and something deeper he couldn’t quite name. The Corrompido army settled into a makeshift encampment along a mountainside, their tents scattering amongst the gravestones of an old graveyard.
