LOGINChrysalis's POV
Current day.
Knocking on the door woke me from my sleep. My comfy bed was begging me to just stay put. The knocking started again and I cracked one eye open. The sun was streaming in through the slightly opened curtain.
I finally answered the person on the other side of the door. "For the love of the gods. If you value your life, leave. I'm awake!"
The male voice on the other side said, "If you value your life Alpha heir, you would have been awake thirty minutes ago. You know the rule. When you're at home you train. You will be late for our session if you lay in bed any longer."
After fighting with the covers I jumped up out of bed and swung the door open. Beta Jackson Wilders stood on the other side of the doorway with his arms crossed.
"My apologies Beta Wilders. It won't happen again." I said out of breath.
He kept his stern look for a little longer then he broke. He cracked a big smile and pulled me in for a big bear hug. I was a little surprised at first then I put my arms around his waist to hug him like a niece would hug her uncle. We both let go at the same time.
"You still look so young Chrys," he said, still smiling. I just looked up at him with no expression. "Don't look at me like that. I know you're about to turn twenty-seven, but you will always be little Chrysie to me. Now get ready to train. You're not really about to be late. I just wanted to see you off before you got too busy in your day." He ruffled my hair before turning to leave.
"How is Jamerson? Have you talked to him lately?," I rushed to say before he could get away.
He stopped and turned a little. He had a kind of proud but sad look on his face. "He is doing just fine. His pack is growing and he has made one hell of an alpha. I often wonder if I was ever holding him back just because he was the second born beta," he confessed. He smiled and sighed saying, "But that's enough of my guilt. I won't taint his accomplishments with it. I speak to him as much as I allow myself to hover." He waited to see if that was the last of my inquisition, then turned to leave.
I really was going to close the door but I couldn't resist. "Do you know how he is feeling?," I asked in a small voice.
It looked like he was giving a little thought to my question. He finally responded, "I think he is feeling well enough. He still hasn't found his mate but he has those he calls friends amongst his pack. Maybe you should give him a call when you go back out into the world." He waved and left it at that.
I closed the door and went to my bathroom to get ready for training.
I looked in the mirror noticing how much my eyes kept shifting in color. They are normally a light brown with a hint of gray and purple. Sometimes the purple will be blue or red instead. I don't think anyone else notices it. I'll ask mom about it later. My hair was still a reddish brown mess on my head since I fell asleep without tying it up. My olive tone skin was still spotless except for this scar that appeared on the left side of my chest right under my collar bone. Part of it was reddish pink and the other part pinkish white. Both sides made up a circle that almost depicted a Sun.
It happened when I turned twenty-one. As I was getting to bed that night, I started to feel heat in my chest. I can't remember if I passed out or just fell asleep. When I woke up the next day the spot was itching. I looked in the mirror and I saw the raised skin. Looking at it now I still don't know what it means. If it means anything at all. Maybe it has something to do with my eyes.
I shook my head after splashing water in my face to try and wake up some more. If I get myself together I'll have time for some breakfast.
I threw on a black sports bra with some black leggings. I decided to strap only one of my knives to my right thigh and a small gun to my left thigh. I didn’t know what today's training would consist of and I didn’t want to feel naked without any weapons since I still hadn’t shifted yet. I wasn’t sure if today would be man to man or man to wolf.
I know it's unheard of for an alpha heir not being able to shift between the ages eighteen and twentyone years. But, I had become that one.
I had hoped that mom and dad would have another child to step up and be alpha. It never happened. I also knew I had a will to take care of the pack. I just felt I didn’t have the tools or resources to do it without being able to shift.
So, for now I trained to be the best I could be. I excelled at combat. No wolf besides my father had ever bested me in man to wolf combat. Seeing my drive and strength my father bestowed upon me a sort of apprentice alpha roll.
I had surveillance over the pack so I spent most of my time on the Earth plane. We, along with most packs, resided in a tear in the planes called the Enchanted Realm. I just so happen to be part witch by way of my mother and I was able to travel back and forth.
There are others outside of our pack that can travel too. In fact my mother helped design the first transport station so we could have full access to the Earth plane and grow our pack and establish our own businesses to thrive there as well. I had full control of those businesses. I may spend most of my time in the realm but, I came home often to check on the pack that my parents were still running.
Now that my morning pity session was over, I finished tying my hair up and jammed my feet into my boots. I walked out of my suite and started to run down the back stairs through the omega wing to the kitchen.
I knew I needed to go see my mother but I wasn’t ready to run into her just yet. I glided into the kitchen and grabbed an apple from one of the islands. There was a medley of fresh food. I chose an omelette. It was quick and had most of the foods I wanted all in one.
Mhm. I tilted my head back savoring every bite. The food is always so great here. It was one of the many reasons I ventured back so often. Before I could finish my last bite my eyes flew open as I felt her aura nudging against my senses.
Chrysalis’s POVI was just staring at my mother and her mother trying to figure out what they had been up to.“Chrysalis. What you’re seeing is the signature of our aura.” Gan-Gan said to me.“Huh?”“Your power is growing, therefore you can see where you couldn’t before.”“O-kay. I guess.”“Is that why you wanted to see us alone?” My mother asked. “No, I mean. I did want to know what’s been happening but I also have to talk to Jade and I thought you two would want to be there for it.” “Well, there’s nothing for you to worry about with grandmother and myself. You will have to talk to your father about pack stuff. I do know any attacks haven’t been coming in like they were. I only had to help with that major one.” My mother explained.“That’s good to hear. I guess I will talk with my father about the prisoner too.” “Now that that is cleared up. Why would we need to sit in on your talk and what does Levy have to do with anything?” Mother asked me.I looked over at Gan-Gan who wa
Jude’s POVI just stared at Trevor waiting for him to actually explain.“You’re for real?" I asked.“Why would I lie? I know you can sense it.” He said.A witch? But I spoke to her wolf.“But she has a wolf.” I pointed out.He nodded. “Yes. But she hasn’t always had her wolf. I thought it was unreal at first. But seeing her again with her wolf just solidified everything I ever observed with her. She is a real life hybrid. The only thing I can’t figure out is what fucking Jamerson has to do with anything.”“The South Regional Alpha?” Blade asked. I was looking between the two waiting to put two and two together.“Huh? What do you mean?” Trevor asked Blade. “Jamerson. He was at the Accords and they seemed familiar. He’s a Regional Alpha.” Blade explained. “The wolf I know isn’t a regional alpha. Hell he isn’t even an alpha he’s a beta. He and Chrys grew up together. They were close. But they had to have a lot more going on. He seemed to help control the beast or something.”
Jude’s POV“So, can you shift?” I asked Blade. We only had a few more minutes until my meeting started so I wanted to get as much info as I could before then. He shook his head as he said, “Both of you have issues. I just told you I’m basically a dragon and you don’t care.” I shrugged before saying, “I care if you want me to but it still won’t change your place in the pack or you being my brother. Hold on. What do you mean both? Kayne knows already?”“Yes.Only because I was with him when I realized what was happening.” He explained.“Has he seen you shift yet?” I asked, knowing I had to get ahead of this new development.“No. Not yet.”“Good. Then I get to see you shift first since you told him first. It’s only fair.”“I can’t with you guys. Who are you meeting with in your home?” He asked. Before I could saying anything the doorman announced the arrival of the wolf I sent for.“Send him in.” I said.He walked into the office and spoke to Blade before sitting.“What’s up man?
Jude’s POVIt’s been a couple of days since I had to save Jillian from Chrysalis. Damn girl has been in her feelings ever since. I’ve dodged every call and almost appearance. I even went back home to the pack a few times. I checked my phone for the time knowing it was almost time for my meeting. I was waiting for my new informant to arrive at my home office. There was something going on with my mate and I was going to figure it out.“Whatchu getting into tonight?” Blade said, walking through the door. I turned away from the window I’d been staring out of as he walked in and sat on the sofa. I’ve been waiting to talk to him since the other night. “I’m having a meeting any minute now. Since you seem to be at a road block I will be using other tactics to get the information that I need. Speaking of information. You ready to tell me what was going on with you the other night?” He looked down at himself and started to pick imaginary lint off his clothes. Then he moved to his
Chrysalis POV’sWe were in my father’s office since I didn’t feel like taking everyone through the portal. Mom called Ga-Gan for us and she was on her way. Mom was sporting her black gear with her black duster that was purple underneath. For some reason she had on this weird looking crown. I was in the middle of a bear hug with mother when Gan-Gan glided into the room. She was sporting her gray colored gear with a duster. And she too had on a crown like mom but it was a bit embellished than mother’s.Mother moved out of the way as Gan-Gan pulled me into her own hug. “Hi dear. To whom do I owe the pleasure of getting to see my sweet granddaughter?” she asked as she stepped back to take a look at me.“Well…” I began but was interrupted. “Oh! Did you finally figure out what was going on with your scar? I can feel a change.” She asked out loud.I looked around the room like really. “Yes, Gan-Gan. We can talk about it later. We’re here because we need to have a sit down with
Chrysalis’s POV“I could see that. He asked about it when he left that night.”“Really. What did he have to say?” I asked as I walked over to the sofa and plopped down.Jade followed and sat next to me. “He asked how long you had had it. I obviously didn’t know but I told him it was a while. He seemed frustrated. Like he was trying to put something together but needed more information” “I see. He’s hiding something. I’ll find out. Maybe I can play to his wolf like I did with Kayne’s. I’ll get to the bottom of it. What are you doing back here?” I asked her. “I just came to check on you. I saw Jude leaving so I figured it was safe to come back.” She said, raising her eyebrows up and down. “Oh really. You checking on me or are you hiding from Levy now that he seems to be doing the chasing instead of the hiding? Oh how the roles have changed.” I said laughing. She hit me with one of the pillows from the sofa. “Whatever. I don’t know what he’s playing at but we’ll see. Um, c
