~Lyra's POV~

The breach came at the east wall first.

We'd expected it. The false patrol schedule had shown a gap there, and even though Seraphine had been too smart to take the facility bait entirely, she'd fed the patrol information to her infiltration team because it was specific and verifiable and exactly the kind of intelligence her planted marks would have picked up through normal channels.

They came through the gap that wasn't there anymore.

Dane had the exterior reinforcement holding the

  • Wolfless Luna Rebirth: The Alpha King's Lethal Queen    The Heir

~Lyra's POV~Marissa and the child were alive. That was the first thing Xavier confirmed, forty seconds after the call ended, after he'd run two follow-up calls in quick succession while I stood in the scorched grass of the eastern grounds watching Seraphine being moved to a secure room inside the estate."Eleven minutes before the explosion," Xavier said, coming to stand beside me. "Ivan's security team evacuated the east wing based on an anonymous alert. Marissa, the child, three staff members. They were out before the structure went."I exhaled. "Who sent the alert?""That's what Vivienne is working on." He paused. "She's already pulled the routing."--------------The operations room inside the estate was running on about four hours of collective sleep and considerably more adrenaline. Papa was still at the central console, which told me he hadn't moved since four AM. He looked up when we came in, read our faces, and said: "They survived.""They survived," I said.He nodded once a

  • Wolfless Luna Rebirth: The Alpha King's Lethal Queen    Four Points

~Lyra's POV~We had four hours and we used all of them. The warrior redistribution was the first problem. Moving sixty-four wolves from a standard perimeter pattern to four specific quadrant positions without creating any visible external change was like rearranging furniture in the dark while someone watched the windows. Torvi ran concealment wards on the internal movement corridors as fast as she could layer them, she looked tired by the second hour, which was not something I had seen from her before.Ivan's trackers arrived at the eastern perimeter at three in the morning, two wolves in blue jackets exactly as he'd said, and Torvi verified them both in under four minutes. They were the unsettling kind of useful, they could feel the ward pressure as a physical sensation, describing the interference points like pain in their own skin, which gave us real-time updates on the reshaping that no technology could have provided.By four AM the setup looked like this: Torvi and I at the east

  • Wolfless Luna Rebirth: The Alpha King's Lethal Queen    Forty-Eight Hours

~Lyra's POV~Papa answered."Talk to me," he said.He wasn't in bed. His voice had the quality of someone who had been at his desk, which meant he had been awake, which meant either Mama had told him something was coming or he had simply known the way he sometimes knew things about this pack without being told."Seraphine has been working the eastern ward for seven hours. Not a breach attempt. A reshaping. She's pressing from the outside, testing the threshold, looking for a way to create a passage that reads as intact on our sensors."Silence. Three seconds, which for Papa was a long time to not respond."How long does she need?" he said.I looked at Torvi across the room."At this pace, forty-eight hours. The forty-eight-hour window was the summit. The distraction. She needed me incapacitated and Xavier occupied while she worked. Ruel's border probes, Ivan's co-leadership proposal, all of it was to keep us sitting in a room while she started this.""Then we have forty-one hours to b

  • Wolfless Luna Rebirth: The Alpha King's Lethal Queen    The Proposal Ivan Refused

~Lyra's POV~Ruel arrived exactly on time. That was the first thing I noticed. Not early, which would have been anxious. Not late, which would have been a power play. Exactly on time, which was the choice of someone who respected the meeting enough to be precise about it and didn't need the psychological leverage of either deviation. He was mid-forties, neat, nothing remarkable about his appearance. Medium height, plain clothing, the kind of face that wouldn't stay in your memory twenty minutes after he left the room. He carried nothing except a slim document wallet. No obvious weapons. Torvi scanned him twice, once at the door, once when he sat, and gave me a small nod on the second pass that meant clean. He accepted the water Xavier offered. He sat. He said: "Thank you for the time."Then he explained himself. He didn't do preamble. He didn't do social performance. He laid it out the way someone lays out a business proposal when they're confident in the numbers and don't need to sel

  • Wolfless Luna Rebirth: The Alpha King's Lethal Queen    Ruel

~Lyra's POV~We were out of the café in under ninety seconds. No running. Running draws attention and attention was the one thing we could not afford on a city street at eleven at night with an active pressure working in range. We walked fast and purposefully, which in the eastern commercial district looked like exactly what everyone else was doing.Jade was beside me. I hadn't asked if she was coming. She hadn't asked if she could. She just moved when we moved, which told me she had been waiting for this moment, the moment of crossing from information-holder to protected, for longer than tonight.Xavier was at the front. Torvi had her bracelet hand in her jacket pocket, monitoring. Vivienne had the vehicle running before we reached the corner. The city around us was completely ordinary. Late traffict. The specific indifference of an urban night that has no idea it's in the middle of something. We loaded into the vehicle and moved.-------------Torvi had Jade's phone out of her hand

  • Wolfless Luna Rebirth: The Alpha King's Lethal Queen    Jade's File

~Lyra's POV~We drove past the café twice before stopping.Torvi's habit, and a good one. The eastern commercial district was the kind of neighbourhood that operated late, restaurants, late-night pharmacies, the particular mix of people who had somewhere specific to be at eleven PM and weren't advertising it. The café was a small corner unit, one window, a handful of tables, the kind of place where nobody looked up when someone came in.I went in alone. Xavier went in two minutes later, found a table by the wall, ordered coffee, and did not look at me. Torvi arrived last and took the corner seat where she could watch the room and the street simultaneously.Vivienne was in the vehicle outside with her laptop running the monitoring feed.Jade was already there. She was in the back booth, and she looked nothing like the woman who had made herself comfortable in my family's sitting room and talked about fabric markets and Alpha Ball gossip. She looked like someone who had been sleeping in

  • Wolfless Luna Rebirth: The Alpha King's Lethal Queen    No Softness Left

~Lyra's POV~The estate went quiet around two in the morning. The rogues were secured in the lower holding room. Cain was in the healer's wing under watch. Jade was in the east guest room with two of Dane's warriors outside the door, not because she was fighting it, she wasn't, but because custody

  • Wolfless Luna Rebirth: The Alpha King's Lethal Queen    Kaela Rises

~Lyra's POV~I was halfway down the east corridor when the alarm sounded. Not a full pack alarm. A low perimeter tone, the kind that meant something had tripped a border sensor rather than a full breach. Single pulse, then silence. Most people inside the main house wouldn't have registered it as ur

  • Wolfless Luna Rebirth: The Alpha King's Lethal Queen    Two Fronts

~Lyra's POV~I found Jade in the east sitting room just after lunch. She was reading something on her phone, legs tucked under her, entirely at ease in the way she always was. She looked up when I came in and smiled like she'd been waiting for me, which she probably had been, in the way that someon

  • Wolfless Luna Rebirth: The Alpha King's Lethal Queen    The Exile

~Lyra's POV~Papa didn't move for a long moment after he said her name.He just sat there with his hands flat on the table and looked at the seal like it was something he'd hoped to never see in daylight again. Then he exhaled slowly, reached across, and closed the archive."Call Xavier back in," h
