Mira's POV The White Coven: The heavy wind blew across my hair as I pushed the door's handle. The chimes jiggled loudly. I stepped in and all the women stopped chanting. Their dark clothes make everything eerie. Their heads suddenly turned to look at me. I stood still and noticed her, the high priestess at the altar. She raised her head revealing her dark shoulder length hair and thick eye liner. “Mira Alexander!!!” She yelled. I shuddered at the tone of her voice. Mira's POV The beeping sound wouldn't stop. I turned slowly, relentlessly. The sound continued like a countdown. My eyelids felt heavy. I opened them slowly, the dizziness hitting harder. The blurry room turned clearer. I turned my head to my side and immediately regretted it. My head tilted, and my stomach rolled in slow, nauseating waves. “Ugh, what…?” The words froze as I glanced down at my arm. A thin tube was taped to the back of my hand. I swallowed. My throat felt dry and empty. I stared for a moment, trying to decide on my next move then I acted. Mira's POV “Where are you taking me?” I hissed, the panic rising in my voice. He acted like he didn't know me. The huge gate spread open, letting the car enter the estate. The car packed in front of the huge mansion. The car's door opened and the guard gestured for me to step out but I hesitated. Xavier got out and walked over, then his desk voice commanded. “Get out!” My body moved quickly and I stood beside him. He walked ahead and I followed like a dog, climbing the small stairs at the front porch. The large front door opened and he stepped in. “Welcome back, Xavier!” The guards greeted, all lined up in two columns. The left with the maids all dressed in their uniform and on the right were the guards in their black suits. I gawked, speechless as the servants raised their heads the same time he moved his fingers. Mira's POV The news came in five words. “Alpha! The shipment's gone!”My pen froze on the paper for a second. I didn't look up from the document I was signing. I twirled the pen, a less smooth, precise line, finishing the signature with a sharp flick of my wrist. “Which one?” I asked gently as I set the pen tip down on the table. I raised my head, staring at the man talking beside me. He wiped the sweat off his forehead and responded quickly. “The northern route Alpha. Mira's POV I rolled to my side. I didn't sleep. I couldn't sleep. Every time I closed my eyes, I felt his hand around my throat again. I rubbed my neck. The pressure had died down long ago. Everything was wired to me. His eyes changed, the warning he gave. A knock hit the door and I sat up immediately. “I'm coming,” I said, rushing to the door and opening it. Standing there was Maya. She was a young maid about the same age as me with blonde hair. “Come out” she commanded. I didn't argue. “We have to attend to the master.”I paused. “The master. Xavier’s POV “Kill her! Taste her blood!” The demon’s voice echoed in my mind, and I lost my sanity.“No!” My wolf was roaring inside my head, fighting to be heard. “She is ours to protect!”My body was at war. Xavier's POV I stood up and grabbed a heavy glass decanter from the bar. I threw it at the wall, and it shattered, spilling glass and liquor everywhere. It wasn’t enough. I had to bleed.
