Kiara's Pov I turned twenty three today. And in eight hours... I'll be married to a sixty five year old man. I ignored the loud music in the background and ran over the events of this morning in my head, hoping I could go back in time. Maybe then I could've done things differently. [TEN HOURS EARLIER] I tried to swallow, but I couldn't. Every part of my body was unpleasantly sore. "Shit.." I winced at every turn of my body and every move of my limbs. Kiara's Pov My heart started drumming against my chest again. I turned around to see Kade standing there. His eyes were hard, fully focused on me—specifically on the spot where the security guard had been about to touch me. "I'm sorry, sir. Orders from the Don," the guard said, sounding hesitant. "I’m giving a new one," Kade snapped, his presence commanding and dangerous. "Spend an hour behind and we are headed to her room." Before the words fully made sense to me, Kade reached out and tugged me toward him. His grip was firm, leaving no room for argument. We started heading toward my wing of the house.
