What Are The Best Osrs Thieving Leveling AFK Methods?
Between pickpocketing ardougne knights and blackjacking menaphite thugs, what's the most truly AFK thieving training method in Old School RuneScape that won't get me banned?

The most AFK methods usually involve Ardougne Knights with a foot pedal or Master Farmers in Hosidius with herb sack, but for true low-attention training, I've just set up my mouse for Pickpocketing Vyres while I watch something else. It’s funny, that grind mindset sometimes crosses over into what I read, like when I wanted a fantasy heist with that same patient, scheming energy. I ended up reading 'The Dragon Thief', where the protagonist isn't just stealing gold, but meticulously plotting to lift a dragon's hoard from under its nose. It hit that same satisfying, methodical vibe without needing my full attention.
Late-night grind sessions have taught me the value of true AFK-friendly spots in 'Old School RuneScape' — you want something that doesn't need constant clicking but still nets steady XP. My top pick for pure low-attention is stall stealing: silk and cake stalls in busy towns, bakery stalls, and market stalls let you hop, steal, walk to the bank, repeat. It’s gloriously brainless for long stretches, perfect for doing homework, watching a show, or falling Asleep with audio on.
If you want a step up in XP without babysitting every click, Pyramid Plunder is the semi-AFK champ. You still need to pay attention to a few doors and traps, but most runs become repetitive enough that you can zone out. For a mixed GP+XP routine, pickpocketing certain NPCs (the ones that drop seeds or decent loot) is useful because it supplements your bank while you train. Bring teleport methods, a decent inventory setup, and some patience — nothing replaces a little practice for rhythm.
My final tip: rotate methods so you don’t burn out. Stalls for long, chill AFK sessions; Pyramid Plunder when you want better XP bursts; pickpocketing for GP/loot. I usually end my sessions satisfied rather than fried, which matters more than any theoretical XP/hr for me.
Sometimes I just want to play music, leave my PC, and come back to leveling done; stalls in 'Old School RuneScape' are perfect for that. They’re the least clicky and easiest to set up — pick a nearby bank, hit a stall until it’s empty, bank, repeat. Pyramid Plunder sits in the middle: not totally AFK, but it’s repetitive enough you can half-focus and still get solid XP. Pickpocketing is more attention-heavy but rewards you with loot and seeds, which is nice if you want passive GP during training. For nights when I’m exhausted, stalls are my comfort pick, and I sleep better knowing my thieving climbed a few levels.
The relaxed vibe is what sells stall training to me in 'Old School RuneScape' — it's the best for truly AFK-friendly thieving. You can set a route, listen to a podcast, and come back to progress. For slightly higher XP without full focus, Pyramid Plunder is great; it needs attention now and then but becomes rhythmic and manageable.
If you want a bit of GP while training, pickpocketing NPCs that drop seeds or tradeable items is the route I pick. It’s not fully AFK, but it rewards the extra attention with items that pad your bank. My late-night routine is simple: stalls when I'm winding down, Pyramid Plunder when I want a short burst of efficiency, and a few pickpocket laps if I’m feeling greedy — it keeps training varied and actually enjoyable.
Numbers and efficiency fascinate me, so I compare methods in 'Old School RuneScape' by attention cost, XP potential, and loot value. On the attention axis, stall stealing is lowest — minimal clicks, highly repeatable. On the XP vs. attention trade-off, Pyramid Plunder edges out for better XP bursts if you can tolerate short, focused windows of interaction. Pickpocketing certain NPCs gives variable returns: moderate XP per action but the bonus of valuable drops or seeds, which improves your GP/hr even when you’re semi-AFK.
My workflow is tactical: long stall loops when I need nearly-zero supervision, Pyramid Plunder for planned XP sessions where I can check in every few minutes, and pickpocketing when I want extra bank growth. Little QoL things help too — inventory presets, fast teleports, or an Ardougne/achievement cloak if you have access — they cut downtime and keep sessions smooth. I always finish feeling like I used my time well, and that efficiency itch is finally scratched.

When the apocalypse came, she lost everything. Starving, hunted, and desperate, she trusted the one man she loved… only for him to betray her in the cruelest way possible. He stole her last supplies to please another woman and left her to die in a sea of the undead.
But death wasn’t the end.
She woke up days before the world collapsed.
After cutting ties with her ungrateful ex and his parasitic family, a mysterious voice awakens in her mind, LUS, a Level-Up System designed to help her survive the coming end.
With knowledge of the future and a system guiding her every move, she begins to prepare. She stockpiles resources, builds a base, and learns how to fight back against the horrors that once destroyed her.
And when the apocalypse arrives again… she’s ready. But survival isn’t the only thing waiting for her in this new life.
A silent killer who watches her like prey.
A manipulative genius who wants to unravel her secrets.
A gentle protector who sees the girl she hides.
And a dangerous man who thrives in chaos.
As the world burns and power shifts, they’re all drawn to her, each with their own motives, each with their own darkness. Even her past refuses to stay buried.
Because now, the man who once abandoned her is back, broken, desperate, and begging for a second chance. Too bad she has no time for regrets.
Not when she’s busy rising to power… and building a kingdom in the ruins of the world.
'Zsystem' is where I found myself as the sole survivor of the apocalypse.
The system is supposed to be my mother's "in sample" antidote to cure the virus. She was a mad scientist of the base where uninfected humans habitats to survive from the outer world.
While she is burying herself with works, I decided to be the useless child and the only one she has. Isn't it amusing! Being treated as the daughter of a crazy woman who is obsessed with antidotes. Even after failing hundreds and thousands of times.
She should know my well-being but she didn't. No matter how much of a genius I am, it's worthless! I am still garbage in her eyes...! I tried so hard to make her proud but all she cares about is the antidotes and saving humanity!
She even left me under my aunt's care. Not looking back even
once...!
Well, that is what I thought before the zombies conquer the base and being forced to drink a certain red liquid which is the antidote! Alast, being thrown
into a foreign system.

Sloan is a new member of the Thieve's Guild. She is trying desperately to prove herself after growing up as an Orphan. The Guild Master gives Sloan a job that is going to change her entire life. If only she can survive the outcome.
My neighbors across the hall had a nasty habit of stealing.
This included my food deliveries, my shoes from the cabinet, and even my clothes drying on the rooftop. Nothing was safe from them.
I had enough. One day, I placed a pair of shoes borrowed from my friend, who was battling an extreme case of athlete’s foot, outside my door.
Not long after they stole them, they came banging on my door in the middle of the night, furious about the outbreak on their feet. They even filed a complaint at the hospital where I work.
I was so furious that I invited a few homeless patients to move in.
A muscular man with HIV, an elderly woman with syphilis, and a young man with severe mental health issues became their new neighbors.
The thieves could not handle it and begged the landlord to evict them.
However, the joke was on them. My family owned the entire building. If anyone was leaving, it certainly was not me.
I spent five years chasing Tyler Watson, only to get kidnapped right in front of him.
He just stood there and watched. As a result, I suffered.
After I escaped, he acted all high and mighty and proposed to make up for his tiny bit of guilt.
The second we got our marriage certificate, the Simp System’s voice rang in my head. “Congrats, host! You’ve completed your mission.”
Just like that, my sanity finally returned.
While Tyler waited in a hotel for me to bring him contraceptives, I went live to expose his cheating. For good measure, I even called the anti-vice office to report my dear husband for soliciting prostitutes.
